Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2023 Toyota Crown vehicles equipped with rearview and/or frontview cameras. Due to insufficient laser welding, the camera cases may separate, allowing water to leak into the cameras and short circuit. The rearview and front view camera images may not appear on the displays or display a distorted image.
Consequence: A rearview camera that does not display an image can reduce the driver's view, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview and frontview cameras as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed August 9, 2024. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 24TB08 and 24TA08.

Due to an error in the instrument panel software at vehicle startup, the instrument panel may fail to display vehicle speed, brake system, and tire pressure warning lights.

Remedy: Dealers will update the instrument panel software over-the-air (OTA) for non-PHEV vehicles, free of charge. Issue with Rear Camera not turning off when car is placed in Drive. notified Toyota Corp twice and dealership about this issue. There is a total loss of multimedia display when this happens. When I put the car in Park turn off the the car and restart the rear camera turns off. I have notified Toyota twice about this issue. The response I get from the dealership is that there is a recall for the camera on the Crown, but it does not exist yet. Toyota corporate told me that I need to have the dealership do a diagnostic done on the car.

When at a stop and making a right turn the vehicle shudders or lags when I push the gas. This is consistent with another case I found on the internet 11595863. I have taken it to the dealership 3 times since purchase. The last time they reset software but I am afraid to drive it because the reset the software the first time.
With an odometer reading of 39000 miles, a piece of trim, the piece in front of the hood, flew up and the clips are broken. This happened while driving at 83mph on an interstate.

I bought the car in September 2023. The first time I found that the blind spot light of the left rearview mirror was not on was in February 2024. Because the blind spot light was not on and I didn't see any vehicles in the rearview mirror, I almost hit the car behind me when I changed lanes. The other party honked at me to show dissatisfaction. I found that the blind spot light on the left was not on, but the blind spot light on the right was normal. I recorded a video at the time. So I reported the situation when I changed the oil at the Toyota dealer in Ramsey, NY. They replied that everything was normal. Today, [XXX], I encountered the same problem again. When I changed lanes, I almost hit the vehicle behind me. I also recorded a video. This failure brought me serious anxiety and safety hazards. One thing to add is that this situation often occurs when the remote start is used with a mobile phone or car key. I’ve noticed this a few months in from having new vehicle. Intermittent power Loss from a stop or merging into traffic from a stop. Very dangerous has happened in oncoming traffic. From a stopped position as you press on gas to go the vehicle like stutters or hiccups jerks like loss of power then proceeds to go. Happens daily. Taken to Visalia Toyota for check up and they state no error codes noted or cannot duplicate concern. Yet issue still occurs. Reported to Toyota number in manual and received a claim number.
On September 16, 2024 at approximately 13:20 my mother was driving her 2023 Toyota Crown in the parking lot of the post office and she was slowing down to park in a parking spot when all of a sudden the vehicle lunged, surges, jerks ,speeds forward all on the cars own with no physical driver commands . The car races forward all on its own while she is slowly pulling into a parking spot jumps the curb and crashes into a brick wall. The CVT ( Continuous Variable Transmission ) Is the problem and quite sure.
I have experienced several instances while driving of Hesitation/Non-Linear Acceleration from a stop. When light turns green, on occasion when I accelerate, the vehicle hesitates then lurches forward into traffic. Have also experienced this issue when waiting to make a turn - car hesitates then lurches forward. I have almost had an accident due to this issue. According to Toyota Crown internet forum, this is a common issue with the 2023 Crown Platinum and Toyota is not being helpful in dealing with this safety issue.
Transmission Vehicle did not respond to acceleration when I turned onto a feeder street causing us to almost be hit Problem did not reproduce when I took it to dealership to be corrected. Please note that the 23 Highlander with this exact engine had this exact problem and I've attached TSB-0087-23 that Toyota developed for that particular vehicle. AGAIN, THIS TSB IS NOT FOR MY 23 CROWN HOWEVER, MY CROWN IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. Vehicle was inspected, 28 May 2024, invoice # 1780495 and service said "could not verify customer complaint at this time. No codes to diagnose at this time. No repair recommendation due to current codes There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem. First appeared 18 May 2024. Took to dealership for evaluation/correction on 28 May 2024.
I have the same issue as the one below that has already been listed on this site. We need a toyota engineer to figure this out the dealerships have no clue how to fix. upon assessment of substantial amounts of wind noise emanating from driver’s door (while driving at 45mph or higher), I noticed that air is entering the cabin through the door (you can feel it coming out the inside door handle). The dealership has been unable to determine the cause of the Air Noise, but I now have a concern that noxious gases from adjacent vehicles while sitting in heavy traffic could seep into the cabin in the same manner. I did notice that the door seal is not connected to the vehicle for several inches (see pic). Not sure if this is where the air is seeping through, but many reported that changing the seal had no impact on noise. Dealership seems clueless.
Notified Toyota Corp by customer service via phone. Issue with car jerking forward while in Park or in neutral , especially when cold and warming up. Car does not move more than an inch to two inches due to parking paw catching vehicle. Difficult electronic gear shift to operate. Issue with not being able to get car back into drive from neutral especially if on moving tracking car wash. Usually, I have to turn off car while vehicles in motion. This is very scary when another car is behind me. Last time the car wash had to come to a total stop until I put the car back into neutral. Notification to dealer about the issue.
