CERTAIN CK MOTORSPORTS COMBINATION HEADLIGHTS, CLEAR CORNER, BUMPER, AND SIDE MARKER LIGHTS SOLD AS REPLACEMENT LAMPS FOR USE ON THE PASSENGER VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. SOME COMBINATION LAMPS THAT ARE NOT EQUIPPED WITH AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS FAIL TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT.
Consequence: WITHOUT THE AMBER REFLECTORS, THE VEHICLE WILL BE POORLY ILLUMINATED, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
Remedy: CK MOTORSPORT WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE NONCOMPLIANT LAMPS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 1, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CK MOTORSPORT AT 1-909-610-7211.

THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR WAS NOT PROPERLY PURGED OF ALL AIR DURING THE FILL AND EVACUATION PROCESS CAUSING AIR BUBBLES TO GET INTO THE BRAKE SYSTEM.
Consequence: THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE INCREASED BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL AND STOPPING DISTANCES.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL BLEED THE ABS HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR TO REMOVE ANY AIR BUBBLES IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. WATER CAN ENTER AND DISPLACE THE GREASE IN THE WIPER ARM LINKAGE BALL JOINT WHERE THE WIPER LINKAGE ATTACHES TO THE WIPER MOTOR LINKAGE.
Consequence: THIS CAN RESULT IN GRADUAL WEAR OVER A PERIOD OF TIME INSIDE THE JOINT THAT COULD LEAD TO THE SEPARATION OF THE WIPER LINKAGE ASSEMBLY FROM THE WIPER MOTOR LINKAGE AT THE BALL JOINT. A LOSS OF WINDSHIELD WIPER FUNCTION CAN RESULT IN THIS SEPARATION OCCURS.
Remedy: TO PREVENT GREASE FROM BEING WASHED OUT OF THE JOINT, THE DEALERS WILL MODIFY BY ADDING A WATER DIVERSION SEAL THAT WILL PREVENT WATER FROM ENTERING THE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINKAGE BALL JOINT AREA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 NISSAN 200SX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS DISCONTINUED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REJECTED FOR AN INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.

MAJOR LEAK IN A RUBBER FUEL VAPOR HOSE ON THE NISSAN 200 SX GAS TANK. THIS PREVENTED THE GAS PUMP OVERFLOW SAFETY MECHANISM FROM FUNCTIONING RESULTING IN A 5-6 GALLON GASOLINE SPILL AS THE CAR WAS BEING REFUELED AT A GAS STATION. THE RUBBER HOSE WAS REPLACED. THE OLD PART IS AVAILABLE. *TR

I HAD A MINOR FENDER BENDER ABOUT 5 DAYS AGO AND MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, CAUSING SERIOUS BURNS TO MY HANDS AND WRISTS AND MINOR FACIAL BURNS. I WOULD HAVE BEEN UNHURT HAD THE AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYED. I REAR-ENDED ANOTHER CAR DUE TO SUN GLARE. I HAD NO IDEA AIRBAGS CAUSED SUCH INJURY AND I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE OR ANY OTHER WARNING ABOUT THIS. THE AIRBAGS ALSO BROKE MY STEERING WHEEL AND MY WINDSHIELD. OTHERWISE THE CAR SUFFERED RELATIVELY MINIMAL DAMAGE.*AK
WHEN VEHICLE GOT WARM IT RAN ROUGHLY. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT MECHANICS, AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE. CONSUMER FELT VEHICLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT BEFORE SHE PURCHASED IT. ALSO, CONSUMER PURCHASED A LOT OF PARTS FOR THIS VEHICLE, BUT NOTHING HELPED. *AK
I TRIED TO PURCHASE TWO FRONT TIRES AT COSTCO, BUT WAS TOLD BY THE GENERAL MANAGER 'CHRIS MOORE' THAT THEIR POLICY IS ONLY TO MOUNT ONE OR TWO TIRES WHEN PURCHASED ON THE REAR. THEY REFUSED TO MOUNT THE TIRES ON THE FRONT AND INSISTED THAT THEY MOUNT MY TWO REAR TIRES BY DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS ON THE FRONT. ONE TIRE IS A GOODYEAR RS AND THE OTHER A MICHELIN X, BOTH 185X65X14 ON A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE NISSAN SE. I INSISTED THAT TWO DIFFERENT BRANDS WITH POORER TREAD WOULD AFFECT STEERING AND HANDLING, BUT COSTCO REFUSED TO SELL AND MOUNT THE TIRE. I OFFERED TO SIGN A WAIVER BUT WAS TOLD BY THE STORE MANAGER THAT MICHELIN HAD A POLICY AND THAT THEY HAD TO HONOR IT FOR SAFETY. I GUESS THAT COSTCO OR ANY STORE CAN SET NHTSA POLICY THESE DAYS. ON THE COSTCO WEB SIGHT, IT STATES THE FOLLOWING: "WHEN BUYING JUST TWO NEW TIRES, SHOULD THEY BE PUT ON THE FRONT OR REAR? WHEN YOU SELECT A PAIR OF REPLACEMENT TIRES IN THE SAME SIZE AND CONSTRUCTION AS THOSE ON THE CAR, YOU MUST PUT THEM ON THE REAR AXLE. A SINGLE NEW TIRE MUST BE PAIRED ON THE REAR AXLE WITH THE TIRE HAVING THE MOST TREAD DEPTH OF THE OTHER THREE." COSTCO GENERAL MANAGER 'CHRIS MOORE - 410-379-3103; FAX 379-3117 THIS WAS AT THE 7077 ARUNDEL MILLS CIRCLE STORE IN HANOVER, MD 21076. PLEASE ADVISE IF THIS IS SANCTIONED BY DOT. THIS IS CONTRARY TO TIRE POLICY FOR MANY YEARS IN THE PASS AND MY MANY YEARS OF PERSONAL DRIVING EXPERIENCE CONCLUDES THAT STEERING TRACTION AND BALANCE OUT WEIGHS OTHER CONSIDERATIONS. I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO SAMS CLUB AND PURCHASED THE 2 MICHELIN X TIRES AND MOUNTED THEM ON THE REAR WITHOUT QUESTION. WALMART ALSO WILL MOUNT TIRES WHERE THE CUSTOMER WANTS. THE COSTCO POLICY APPEARS TO TRY AND FORCE CUSTOMERS TO BUY 4 TIRES WHEN ONLY 2 ARE REQUIRED. *JB
HIGH PRICED REPAIRS-I'VE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 YRS AND I BELIEVE I'M THE SECOND OWNER. I BOUGHT IT USED. ITS A 1995 NISSAN 200 SX SE-R WITH 108K MILES AND I'VE HAD MORE PROBLEMS WITH IT THAN I BARGAINED FOR. EVERY MONTH IT'S SOMETHING NEW WITH THE CAR. I'M RUNNING OUT OF PATIENCE AND MONEY GETTING THE CAR FIXED AND FINANCIALLY I CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER CAR RIGHT NOW NOT TO MENTION THE REPAIRS ON THIS ONE. TOTAL I'VE PROBABLY SPENT WELL OVER $2000 IN THE TWO YEARS THAT I'VE HAD IT. MOST RECENTLY, I'M HAVING TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH AND BOTH CV JOINTS, THE TRANSMISSION SEAL, MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCH (THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN DECIDES TO WORK ON ITS OWN) AND MY SPEED SENSOR. I'M FINDING MYSELF PUTTING MORE MONEY INTO THIS CAR THAN I CAN AFFORD. TWO YEARS AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT BREAKS AND THE LEFT ROTOR. LAST YEAR I REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, STARTER, BATTERY, ONE O2 SENSOR (I HAVE TWO), THE CATYLLITIC CONVERTER AND THE LINKAGE WITH MY WIPERS (THANK GOODNESS THAT WAS A RECALL AND THE MONEY DIDN'T COME OUT OF MY POCKET). I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AGAIN!! I'M SPENDING WAY TOO MUCH MONEY JUST TO KEEP IT ON THE ROAD. I'VE GOT NEW PROBLEMS MONTHLY AND THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT. THIS MODEL WAS ONLY OUT A FEW YEARS AND DISCONTINUED. IT'S HARD FINDING PARTS FOR MY CAR BECAUSE IT HAS CERTAIN PARTS THAT ARE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER MODELS, THEREFORE MAKING ME SPEND MORE MONEY. IF I KNEW THAT THIS WAS A "SPECIAL/PROJECT" CAR, THEN I WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT IT. I GOT OFF WORK AND GOT IN MY CAR. WHEN I STARTED IT THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED BLINKING. I LET IT SLIDE FOR A LONG TIME AFTER CONTACTING NISSAN BECAUSE OF HOW EXPENSIVE THE PART WAS. NOW IM TRYING TO SELL THE CAR AND I HAD TO FIX IT. COST 623 DOLLARS ALTOGETHER. STARTED LOOKING INTO AND FOUND OUT THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF AIRBAG PROBLEMS WITH THE 200SX, SOME EVEN WITH INJURIES. THE K-FRAME OR A-FRAME OR ENGINE SUSPENSION CORRODES DUE TO DEFECTIVE STEEL AND HAS POTENTIAL PROBLEM OF LOOSING CONTROL OF VHECLE WHILE DRIVING. CORROSION WAS SEEN EARLY NISSAN DEALERS NEVER MENSIONED THE PROBLEM UNTIL WARRANTY RAN OUT. NOW THE DEALER INDICATES THATE PROBLEM AS SAFETY HAZARD. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON APPROXIMATELY 6/30/97 AND AGAIN 4 WKS AGO DEALERSHIP CHECKED,STATED NO PROBLEM. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON 5/22/01 AND ON 5/27/01 CAR DID NOT START. PER PEP BOYS ENGINE VALVES BURNED OUT. AIRBAG LIGHT CAME RT AFTER LEFT DEALERSHIP AFTER HAVING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SERVICED BECAUSE DASHBOARD PANEL WENT BLACK AND INTERFERENCE WITH ALARM OPERATION. RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP AND ADVISED AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WAS NOT ON PRIOR TO VISIT. THEY CHECK AND ADVISED COMPUTER CHIP WAS BAD AND COST $800 TO REPLACE. REFUSED RESPONSIBILITY. I TOOK THE CAR IN 11/2000 FOR OVER $800 IN REPAIRS, INCL 90,000 MILE MAINTENANCE WORK EVEN THOUGH CAR ONLY HAD 84000 MILES. WORK INCLUDED RT CV JOINT REPLACEMENT. WITHIN 2 HOURS RT TIRE WAS FLAT. I PAID FOR TOWING TO DEALERSHIP, ADVISED JUST HAD WORK DONE ON THE RT SIDE AND THEY REFUSE OWNERSHIP. POINTED OUT THAT THE TIRE WAS SHINY, LOOKED LIKE SOME CHEMICAL BURNT ON AND THERE WAS STEAM/SMOKE FROM TIRE. HOW IS IT THAT AN AIRBAG NEVER BEFORE DEPLOYED CAN GO BAD. HOW IS IT THAT THE PANEL CAN GO BAD AND THE CAR IS LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD. THE TRONCALLI NISSAN DEALERSHIP WILL NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP OF DEFECTIVE PROBLEMS.
IN EARLY APRIL OF 1997 THE GAS PEDAL BEGAN SLIPPING TOWARD THE CLUTCH UPON PRESSING IT TO ACCELERATE. ABOUT A WEEK AFTER THE ORIGNAL INCIDENT, THE SUPPORT BRACKET WHICH IS WELDED TO THE FIREWALL TO SUPPORT THE PEDAL AND ALSO ACT AS A PRESSURE POINT FOR THE TROTTLE LINKAGE BROKE. THE PIECE I AM REFERING TO CONTAINS A SPRING UNIT FOR THE PEDAL. IT SEEMS THAT THE PRESSURE OF THE PEDAL WORE THE BRACKET, MADE OF APPARENTLY ALUMINUM, INTO AT THE FOLDS WHICH PROVIDE THE PIECE A PLACE TO BE SPOT WELDED TO THE FIREWALL.*AK
CONSUMER PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND MADE A RIGHT, SHIFTED FROM 1ST TO SECOND GEAR, AND PRESSED ON GAS. 3 SECONDS LATER, AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. CONSUMER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO OBJECT IN THE ROAD, AND DIDN'T HIT ANYTHING FOR AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. *AK
