The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while parked when the vehicle suddenly rolled backwards downhill the contact's son attempted to get into the vehicle to make it stop. The trailer's jackknife stopped the vehicle from going onto the road. The contact manually moved the vehicle back into their garage. The contact stated their son did receive injuries to their head, left or right leg (the contact was unsure of the exact leg), and their left or right arm (the contact was unsure of the exact arm). Medical attention was needed. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a safety complaint. The failure mileage was 74,000.
THE component system addressed, which is available for inspection, is the propane line routed through a jagged torched hole in the vehicle main frame; location is left-rear frame extension. Pictures are available. IF piping is allowed to remain, the propane line will sustain a propane leak with constant rubbing against the hole going through the frame. Our safety, and the safety of many others across the nation is at risk, specifically with the reports of motorhome fires to date. THE existing problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center at this time. THE existing problem has not been confirmed by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. NO indicators of any kind for system failure are included on this model. Propane smell or fire would be immediate. Problem appeared after news broadcast of last motorhome fire; I investigated problem on my own. TWO attempts to report this system problem failed when NHTSA would not accept or recognize vehicle VIN number.

I arrived at my destination, lined up to park, shifted my foot from accelerator to brake and ... YIKES the engine was racing like crazy. I put both feet on the brake, shoving hard, engine continues to accelerate over the curb & into a fence. Pulling against the brakes, the engine continued to race. I reached to yank it out of gear, when it TOOK OFF backwards across the parking lot. Still standing on the brakes, I frantically looked for a path that would give me time to kill the engine. skipped the window that I couldn't see if there were PEOPLE on the other side of it ... angled to go around parked cars and went for the ignition switch to kill the engine. After I got the engine switch off, the momentum carried me into the first parked car, which shoved it into the next parked car. THANK GOODNESS there were no people in either, nor in the parking lot!! No warnings of any kind. The entire vehicle is available for inspection; it has yet to be inspected. There is no way I would drive this suicidal-murdering death-trap ANYWHERE, so I had it towed. Police and insurance have been notified.
The contact owns a 2004 Ford E-250. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle coasted to the side of the road and the contact waited for a minute to restart the vehicle before starting to drive however, the failure persisted. No warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle but could not duplicate the failure. The mechanic believed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 05V270000 (Electrical System) and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and the recall but was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall and that the recall only included the diesel engine vehicles. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000. The VIN was not available.
My box truck caught on fire, fire started at the plug in receptacle that keeps the glow plug warm and spread from there. Luckily my across the street neighbor helped put out the fire temporarily with 2 of his fire extinguisher until the fire truck arrived, otherwise it would have been a major catastrophe.
I WAS DRIVING MY RV DOWN THE FREEWAY WHEN THE INSIDE DUAL BLEW OUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. BEFORE THE TIRE BLEW OUT I NOTICED A VIBRATION ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE RV. A FEW MOMENTS LATER THE TIRE BLEW OUT AND THE TREAD CAME OFF COMPLETELY LEAVING ONLY THE SIDE WALLS. I DO NOT REMEMBER RUNNING OVER ANY OBJECTS IN THE FREEWAY AND HAD NOT HIT ANY POT HOLES. THIS TIRE WAS THREE YEARS OLD WITH LESS THAN 5,000 MILES ON IT. I HAD CHECKED AND VERIFIED THE TIRE PRESSURE BEFORE LEAVING AND ENSURED THAT I HAD INFLATED THE TIRES TO THE RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURE PER THE VEHICLES OWNER MANUAL 80 PSI. THESE TIRES WERE THE DEFINITY DAKOTA LT225/75/16 TIRE. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED BY PEP BOYS AS I HAD PURCHASED THE HAZARD WARRANTY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD E-450. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V782000 (EQUIPMENT). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 1-855-262-3540 APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AGO. THE CONTACT LEFT A VOICEMAIL FOR A CALL BACK, BUT DID NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. THE CONTACT FELT THAT A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME HAD PASSED FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ONCE IGNTION WAS TURNED OVER. NO ACCIDENT JUST DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON.
AT 68,450 MILES, SEVERAL ISSUES OCCURRED: 1) OIL PRESSURE SWITCH BLEW OUT OF THE HOUSING, 2) OIL WAS VISIBLE IN COOLANT, 3) OIL WAS LEAKING FROM ENGINE, 4) IDLE VACILLATED UP AND DOWN W/O ANY ACTION ON PART OF THE USER. TOOK VAN TO DEALER, WHO CLAIMED TO HAVE REPAIRED THESE ITEMS. INSPECTION OF THE "REPAIRED VEHICLE" REVEALED OIL STILL DRIPPING OFF ENGINE ONTO GROUND. WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS "NORMAL" AND WOULD DISAPPEAR. HOWEVER, THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. ENGINE HAS CONTINUED TO LEAK AND OIL CONTINUES TO MIX WITH COOLANT FLUID, EVEN AFTER FLUSHING SYSTEM TWICE SINCE REPAIR. DESPITE NUMEROUS CALLS TO DEALER, PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. ENGINE HAS LESS THAN 13K ADDITIONAL MILES ON IT SINCE "REPAIR" AND OIL IS STILL LEAKING. LEAK CONTINUES TO GET WORSE WITH TIME. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND SINCE THE ENGINE HAS FAR LESS THAN 100K MILES ON IT, SHOULD BE REPAIRED AS A WARRANTY ITEM. MIXING OF OIL AND COOLANT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS TO BE PROGRAMMATICALLY ADDRESSED BY FORD.
VIBERATION IN REAR AND CLUNKING NOISR IN REAR WHEN STOPPING AT LIGHT THEN TAKING OF WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN
ALL GAUGES STOP WORKING WHEN IT RAINS BUT STARTS AND RUNS OK. POWER WINDOWS DO NOT WORK WHEN IT RAINS BUT STARTS AND RUNS OK.

THERE ARE TONS OF DRIVERS ON PUBLIC ROADS USING OFF ROAD LED LIGHT BARS AND USING AMPLIFIED HID HEADLIGHTS. THEY ARE SO BRIGHT I HAVE TO BLOCK THE LIGHT WITH MY HANDS WHEN THEY DRIVE BY. I KNOW THIS IS ILLEGAL. IT IS TERRIBLY UNSAFE. WHY ARE THERE NOT LAWS BEING ENFORCED TO PREVENT THEIR USE ON THE STREET?
