Component: SEAT BELTS:CRITICAL FASTENERS
General Motors, LLC (M) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with third-row seats. The rivet that retains the buckle to the mounting bracket in the left or right side third-row seat belt buckle assembly may have been improperly formed.
Consequence: A seat belt with a deformed rivet may not properly restrain an occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the rivet head formation on both the left and right side third-row seat belt buckle assemblies and replace seat belt buckle assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed September 28, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 1, 2022. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020; Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006; and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N222372380.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence: DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222386380. I had the recall for the Momentary Rear Wheel Lock-up completed on 2025-05-04. While I was driving March 2026 my Tahoe went into limp mode and I had to have it towed because it wouldn’t reverse it was towed a day after this happened to Lynch Chevrolet. It has sat there ever since with no fix in site. I had to get a rental vehicle that GM is paying for but they have stipulations to what they pay for and the vehicle they gave is not comparable or better than MY car. Not only is this an inconvenience but they are doing the bare minimum to help with their mistakes.
I AM SUBMITTING THIS COMPLAINT REGARDING AN ACCIDENT INVOLVINGMY 2022 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE I WAS DRIVING NORMALLY, THE REAR WHEELS SUDDENLY LOCKED UP, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL AND CRASH INTO A WAL. THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE ENOUGH THAT THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WAS NOTIFIED ON 02/13/2026 ABOUT THE RECALL BUT THE RECALL STATUS (REMEDY NOT AVAILABLE) WITH RECALL NUMBER N252536750 STOP DELIVERY- REAR WHEEL LOCKUP. THEN ON 03/12/2026 I RECIEVED AN EMAIL STATING THE RECALL STAUTUS (REMEDY AVAILABLE). ALSO, ON 03/15/2026 I RECIEVED ANOTHER EMAIL WITH A RECALL STATUS (REMEDY NOT AVAILABLE) WITH RECALL NUMBER N252536750 STOP DELIVERY- REAR WHEEL LOCKUP. I HAVE SINCE THEN BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT POSSIBLY DUE TO A TRANSMISSION CONTROL VALVE ISSUE. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT, THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. BECAUSE THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE EXACT FAILURE DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL, I BELIEVE THE DEFECT DIRECTLY CAUSE THE LOSS OF CONTROL AND RESULTING CRASH. I AM REQUESTING THAT THIS INCIDENT BE INVESTIGATED AND THAT GENERAL MOTORS REVIEW RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES RELATED TO THIS DEFECT.
Had issues transitioning to reverse, drove vehicle to the dealership. While driving on a busy road vehicle went into limp mode and had to pull over. Vehicle needed to be towed to the dealership. Dealership was able to verify vehicle was unable to reverse. They also found P0700 and P0776 error codes. They also used service bulletin 22-NA-258. We had not noticed excessively harsh shifting prior to this event. Had to replace components in the valve body

Driving down the freeway and it began raining. The wipers worked and then they just stopped working and it was pouring in the rain. I had to pull over because I couldn’t see. This has happened two other times. In having my vehicle inspected it showed no problem with the switch or wiper motor. The infotainment system also frequently locks up and restarts even after the recall was fixed.
Driving at 75mph upgrade westbound out of Denver, Co. Engine failed, shut down at speed, had to emergency move to right shoulder through 3 lanes of traffic. The last 10 mph it locked wheels to a screeching halt. Towed to Foundation Chevrolet. Confirmed engine failed, needs replacement. Every service done on regular basis by same dealer. Had "recall" band aid performed a couple months ago, where they changed oil vicosity and did inspection.
I had the car in for a message (service transmission now will not be able to shift soon). They told me there was nothing wrong with my transmission it was a parking brake sensor issue. They ordered me a new sensor and never called to tell me it was in. I followed up and they said they had the part and I could come in whenever. They said it was not a safety issue and would be a quick fix. I had an appt today and to my surprise when I went to drive to the appt my car will not let me shift out of park with a new message (service transmission, unable to shift). I am now waiting for the car to be towed. This car has had nothing but issues including the back-up camera not working properly for 2 years. These are all serious safety concerns that Chevy/GM has not properly handled.
My 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe has a recurring pattern of excessive oil consumption, smoke from the exhaust, repeated check engine light events, P0420 catalyst-efficiency faults, and repeated catalytic-converter-related repairs. At approximately 75,000 miles, the vehicle shut down on the freeway. At approximately 121,000 miles, the first catalytic converter failed. Chevrolet of Wesley Chapel documented P0420 and catalyst failure in November 2025, and GM service history reflects catalytic-converter replacements at 131,468 miles and approximately 141,082 miles. The vehicle also underwent major injector-related repair in early 2026. At 141,620 miles, Chevrolet of Wesley Chapel started an oil consumption test and stated in writing that oil consumption can lead to repeat failed converters and false oxygen sensor readings. Despite substantial repairs, the problem pattern continued. I am reporting this as a possible safety-related defect affecting engine operation, emissions-system failure, and drivability, and I am asking NHTSA to review whether this indicates a broader safety-related defect.
The contact's wife owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50-60 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The driver pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that unknown engine valves had collapsed, and there was possible camshaft damage. The contact was advised that further diagnostic tests were required. The dealer informed the contact that a recall should be issued for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was referred to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
Driving down I495 in Mass when engine stopped with no warning or prior symptoms. My wife and 4 children (including 2 friends of our kids) were in the car. Luckily we were able to safely pull to the shoulder after coasting through a construction zone. If we hadn’t made it to a safe piece of shoulder chances are high that another vehicle would have hit our vehicle and hurt and killed us. These 6.2 engines are a serious safety hazard and I only hope my new engine proves to be reliable. Car was towed to dealer who diagnosed it as a seized motor. Car is a 2022 Chevy Tahoe with the problematic 6.2 engine. Engine had passed Chevrolet’s Pico test as per the 6.2 recall about 7,000 miles before it seized. Vehicle and engine dealer maintained with all required changes/maintenance. Engine seized/failed with no warning.
The vehicle shifted itself into neutral and shut off while driving. It happened twice in three days. The first time I was pulling into the driveway so I was able to put it in park and restart the car safely. The second time I was in the middle of traffic in Tampa and it shifted into neutral and shut off in the middle of the road. Luckily no cars hit me but again I had to apply the break , restart the car and put it back in drive. This was very scary and I had my kids with me. Earlier in the day I had been driving on 75 and if it had happened then it could have been a bad wreck. It shows there are no current recalls on my vehicle. No warning lights or messages appeared. Vehicle was purchased less than 30 days ago. I will contact the dealership to verify there are no open recalls just in case but again when I checked I found none.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the contact became aware that the driver's side rearview mirror was pointing upwards or downwards, reducing the driver's ability to see the roadway. The driver's side rearview mirror had been making unintended movements while starting the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
I took the vehicle in for the engine recall. They put in the higher viscosity oil. Shortly thereafter the engine failed. They are trying to claim it's not related to the recall issue.
The vehicle has service driver assistance system warning. The seat vibration is not working and I believe there are issues with the sensor and or harness. There have been recalls on previous years of this vehicle for the same thing. There have been a wave of these lately, according to the dealership working on the vehicle. Parts availability is currently low because of this resulting in longer repair times. This is a key safety feature of the vehicle and must be repaired quickly. Unsuspecting users may expect warnings before collisions that may not happen.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked with the second-row captain seats folded into the cargo position, while placing the seat in the seating position, the headrest failed to lock into the upright position. The contact stated that while an adolescent child was seated in the seat, the headrest poked her in the back of the head. The contact stated that the headrest was unsafe and failed to operate as designed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that an unknown part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
My Tahoe died on a busy bridge in Moore OK during rush hour traffic. Got a ticket for impending traffic. Had to get car towed. Tahoe is still in shop. I have a rental….GM trax. My car is in the shop indefinitely. I’m requesting a rental car of equal value to what my Tahoe was. Please make contact with the appropriate Hertz company as we will have bad weather in 2 days.
