TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 GMC SONOMA. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR IMPACT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 264,477.
PASSENGER SEAT DOES NOT LOCK INTO PLACE. PASSENGERS SEAT SLIDE FORWARD AND BACKWARD , AND AIR BAG LIGHT STAYED ON , LEFT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT AND BRAKE DON'T COME ON. *TR
I WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE HWY, DRIVING BETWEEN 35-60 MPH BECAUSE OF ICY, SNOWY, SLUSHY, 35 MPH WINDY CONDITIONS. MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED VIBRATING CRAZILY AND MY TRUCK KEPT WANTING TO PULL ITSELF TO THE LEFT. I FELT BUMPING EVERY TIME THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL MADE A REVOLUTION. WITH 1 1/2 HOURS OF DRIVING TIME LEFT I KEPT HOPING I WOULD MAKE IT HOME SAFELY, WHICH I DID. I TOOK MY TRUCK IN THE NEXT DAY ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME ALL FOUR TIRES OF MINE WERE SHOT - CORDS IN TWO TIRES SNAPPED, AND BUBBLING AND THREAD/TREADWEAR IN THE OTHER TWO. GRANTED, I HAD THE TIRES FOR 7 YEARS. HOWEVER, THEY WERE 70,000 MILES TIRES THAT LASTED 31,000 MILES. PREMATURE TREADWEAR WAS EVIDENT AFTER DRIVING THE FIRST 10,000 MILES AND BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. I MAINTAINED REGULAR TIRE ROTATION SCHEDULE THROUGHOUT. NOT ONE TIME DID MY MECHANIC MENTION ANY PROBLEMS, EVEN WHEN ASKED. KUMHO 205/75 TIRES ARE CRAP, THEY ARE GOING TO KILL SOMEBODY AND THE COMPANY KNOWS IT. DO MINIMAL RESEARCH AND YOU'LL DISCOVER THIS YOURSELF. TIRE PLACES WHO DON'T KNOW THIS HAVEN'T DONE ENOUGH RESEARCH OR DON'T CARE. IS THAT WHO YOU WANT TO TAKE YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS FROM? NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT ALL FOUR TIRES OF MINE NEEDED REPLACING AT THE SAME TIME. WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THE ONES WHO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THESE TIRES, THEY BLAMED ME - 7 YEARS IS TOO LONG, DIDN'T ROTATE TIRES ENOUGH, DIDN'T INSPECT THEM MYSELF EVERY TIME I HOPPED IN MY TRUCK, MY TRUCK SAT TOO LONG WITHOUT BE DRIVEN, ALIGNMENTS NOT DONE EVERY YEAR, NOBODY HAS EVER COMPLAINED ABOUT KUMHO TIRES (BIG FAT LIE!), THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF ANY RECALLS (BIGGER, FATTEST LIE), BLAH BLAH BLAH! SOUNDS LIKE A CONSPIRACY TO ME. GET KUMHO TIRES OFF THE SHELVES BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED! *TR
DRIVER WAS GOING APPROX. 40MPH DOWN THE RURAL HIGHWAY IN HEAVY RAIN AND THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF HER CAME TO A STOP. BY THE TIME THE DRIVER OF THE SONOMA SAW THE TRUCK IT WAS TOO LATE TO STOP AND NOT HIT THE STOPPED VEHICLE. THE DRIVER OF THE SONOMA HIT THE STOPPED TRUCK AND TOTALED THE SONOMA. AT NO POINT DID THE DRIVER AIRBAG DEPLOY. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I LOST THE TREAD ON ONE OF MY TOYO TIRES AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY. IT COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE! IT WAS THE PASSENGER FRONT TIRE. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO STEER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND CALL FOR HELP. I'VE ALREADY HAD IT REPLACED BUT THE DEALER I WENT TO (DISCOUNT TIRES) WHERE I PURCHASED THE DEFECTIVE ONE TOLD ME THEY ARE GOOD TIRES AND CONVINCED ME TO BUY ANOTHER TOYO. NOW I'M WORRIED. *TR
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAVE ONLY WORKED INTERMITTENTLY WHENEVER THEY ARE RUN. IN THE HEAVIEST RAIN YOU CANNOT COUNT ON THEM AND SOMETIMES THEY WON'T COME ON AT ALL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM WHEN THEY QUIT WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD IN THE MIDDLE OF A RAIN. THEY HAVE NOT MADE IT A WHOLE TRIP IN THE RAIN AND STAYED WORKING- ALWAYS ONLY INTERMITTENT. SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO PULL OVER UNTIL THEY DECIDE TO COME ON AGAIN. *TR
I HAVE NOT HAD ANY WRECKS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, YET. MY TURN SIGNALS DON'T WORK PROPERLY ONE OF MY LOW BEEN HEADLIGHTS KEEPS BLOWING AND MY TAILLIGHTS DON'T WORK. I HAVE CHANGED THE BULBS JUST FOR THEM TO BLOW WHEN I TEST THEM. AND NO I DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS ON THE HEADLIGHTS. I SEEN THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE LIGHTING SYSTEM AND ON THE WIRING SYSTEM, COULD THIS BE MY PROBLEM? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 GMC SONOMA. IN MARCH OF 1998, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BEGAN WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. IN NOVEMBER OF 2008, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE WIPER MODULE AND WIPER MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TOO OLD FOR THEM TO BE LIABLE FOR THE REPAIRS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 137,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
MY TRUCK HAS 70,000 MILES AND IT HAS PROBLEMS WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. YOU CAN HIT ON THE INSIDE OF THE MOTOR AND IT WILL START WORKING. I CAN BE DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY WILL QUIT. I HAVE NOTICED THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR

HAD A PROBLEM WITH WINDSHIELD WIPERS NOT WORKING OR WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. I FOUND PROBLEM TO BE THE ELECTRICAL PLUG ON WIPER MOTOR CIRCUIT BOARD TO HAVE FRACTURED SOLDIER CONNECTIONS. RESOLDIER CONNECTIONS CURE PROBLEM. *TR
AT FIRST INSTANCE OF FAILURE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD INTERMITENTLY STOP WORKING. IT HAS NOW PROGRESSED TO TOTAL FAILURE. GOT UNDER HOOD AND TRACED TO WIRING PLUG IN AT WIPER MOTOR. IF PLUG IS JIGGLED THE WIPERS WILL WORK FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN DURING POSSIBLE RAIN CONDITIONS DUE TO SAFETY ISSUES. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING AN ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS FROM A DEALER.*AK
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 1998 GMC SONOMA PURCHASED NEW IN FEBRUARY OF 1999. VEHICLE PROPERLY MAINTAINED DRIVEN AS A COMMUTER VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 7,400 MILES PER YEAR. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE 4L60E TRANSMISSION, WHICH IS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE. 59,000 MILES BEGINS TO SURGE AND SLIP. ACCELERATION IS GREATLY REDUCED WITH HARSH SHIFTING. GREATLY COMPROMISING MY SAFETY. ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $3100.00 GMC WILL NOT REIMBURSE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE. MY CLAIMS WERE "DENIED" BY THE DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE. *JB
IN APRIL 2006, A BRAKE LINE ON MY 1998 GMC SONOMA PICKUP BROKE WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES AT APPROX 50 MPH. I HAD TO STOP RATHER QUICKLY DUE TO TRAFFIC BACKING UP ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. WHEN THE BRAKE LINE BURST, MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I HAD NO BRAKES. PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING, THE BRAKES WERE WORKING FINE. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO SWERVE INTO ANOTHER LANE AND DOWNSHIFT (STD SHIFT) TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. MY MECHANIC REPLACED THE BROKEN LINE (FROM HYDRAULIC ABS TO JUNCTION) AND ALSO THE REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. THE TRUCK HAD 107,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I DECIDED TO REPORT THIS BECAUSE I AM CONCERNED THAT IT MIGHT HAPPEN TO OTHERS, RESULTING IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.*JB

ON OUR 1998 GMC SONOMA WE HAVE REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND BOARD. THE WIPERS STILL HAVE A GHOST IN THEM AND DELAY DOES NOT WORK MOST OF THE TIME AND HIGH SPEED WHEN ON LOW SPEED, ERRATIC BEHAVIOR ON WIPERS. WON'T TURN ON OR OFF ON OCCASION. WAS THERE A RECALL ON ALSO ON THE PASSENGER SEAT? THE LEVER BROKE RIGHT OFF THE FIRST TIME WE USED IT. CHEAPLY BUILT HANDLES. THIS STARTED AS AN OCCASIONAL FAILURE IN 2002 WHEN THE INTERMITTENT WIPERS WOULD SUDDENLY START WIPING AT FULL SPEED "ON THEIR OWN" AND WOULD ONLY GO BACK TO INTERMITTENT SPEED AFTER I WOULD TURN OFF THE WIPERS AND RE-TURN THEM ON. IN AUGUST 2005 THIS CHANGED TO WHERE THE INTERMITTENT WIPERS WOULD GO TO FULL SPEED AND THEN JUST STOP. THEY WOULD NOT RESUME WIPING WHEN I WOULD TURN THE SWITCH ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES (THUS I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN WITH NO WIPERS). HOWEVER - THEY WOULD JUST AS SUDDENLY BEGIN WIPING. IN OCTOBER 2005 I HAD THE LOCAL GM DEALER REPLACE THE WIPER MODULE CIRCUIT BOARD WHICH IT TURNED OUT WAS CRACKED. THIS IS THE SAME PIECE OF EQUIPMENT THAT GMC DID A RECALL FOR VEHICLES BETWEEN 1994 AND 1997. I HAVE REGISTERED THIS ISSUE WITH THE GM CLAIMS DEPARTMENT - BUT THEY WILL NOT TAKE ANY ACTION FOR A RECALL NOR REIMBURSE THE COST OF THE PART. *NM
1998 GMC SONOMA PICK UP WITH 4 CYLINDER AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE FUEL LINE MOUNTING BRACKET LOCATED ON THE BELL HOUSING RUBBED A HOLE IN THE FUEL LINE ALLOWING GASOLINE TO DRIP ON THE HOT EXHAUST PIPE. IT TOOK THREE DEALERS AND A COUPLE OF MONTHS TO FIND THE LEAK. GENERAL MOTORS STATED THIS WAS NORMAL WEAR AND REFUSED TO REPAIR OR ASSIST IN REPAIR WITH ESTIMATED COST OF $400-$600. THIS LEAK PRESENTED AN EXTREME FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARD. I HAVE NEVER SEEN OR HEARD OF A GAS LINE RUBBING THROUGH ON ANY VEHICLE. THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS ANYTHING BUT A DESIGN/MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. *JB

IT HAPPENED AT ANY SPEED, BUT MOSTLY WHEN GOING AT LOW SPEEDS AND TAKING OFF. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER ON JULY 24, 2005 FOR INSPECTION, AND DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS AND THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS. THEY WILL HAVE THE PARTS IN SEPTEMBER. SHE COULD DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL THEN. THE CALLER WAS CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF STALLING. SHE TALKED TO THE MANUFACTURER ON JULY 26, 2005. THEY SAID IT WAS OKAY TO DRIVE IT UNTIL THE CALLER TOLD MANUFACTURER HOW UNSAFE IT WAS TO DRIVE. THEN, MANUFACTURER TOLD HER NOT TO DRIVE. *AK

LAST NIGHT IT WAS RAINING HARD AND THE FAILURE CAUSED A SERIOUS LOSS OF VISIBILTY, LUCKLY NO ACCIDENT ENSUED.THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS FAILURE OCCURRED AND I SAW TWO OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON YOUR WEB SITE.

THE COMPLAINT IS ABOUT MY TRANSMISSION IN MY 1998 GMC SONOMA. ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON SO I TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR SERVICE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REBUILT OR REPLACED AS PER THE SERVICE BULLETIN. A $2,200-DOLLAR FIX. THE TRUCK IS NOT QUITE 3 YEARS OLD THOUGH I HAVE 59000 MILES ON IT. I CAN TELL YOU THAT IM THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS DRIVEN THIS TRUCK AND IT HAS HAULED NO MORE THAN GROCERIES I CALLED THE CUSTOMER CARE CENTER AND GM HAS SAID THEY WOULD PAY 40 PERCENT OF THE REPAIR REF CASE NUMBER: C05710638. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THIS WAS BETTER THAN NOTHING. BUT I BELIEVE THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE FAILURE, WARRANTY OR NOT. THIS IS NOT RIGHT. THIS IS A MAJOR PART OF THE VEHICLE AND SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE BAD THIS QUICKLY. I WILL CONTINUE TO DO ALL THE RESEARCH I CAN TO SHOW THAT THIS FAILURE IS NOT NORMAL. POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL ON AC DELCO SIDE POST 72MONTH BATTERY POPPED OUT OF BATTERY, RESULTING IN AN ACID SPILL. I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT LAST PERFORMED WARRANTY WORK ON THE TRUCK TO INFORM THEM OF MY CONCERNS. I FEEL THE TECHNICIAN THAT WORKED ON THE VEHICLE OVER-TIGHTENED THE BOLT, CAUSING THE LEAD TERMINAL TO COME LOOSE. BECAUSE THE GM WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED, AC DELCO INFORMED ME THAT THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY ON THE BATTERY HAD ALSO EXPIRED(AT 3 YEARS), SO THIS WASN'T THEIR PROBLEM. I FEEL THIS IS MORE THAN JUST A PROBLEM FOR ME, THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED AT AS A PROBLEM FOR EVERYONE. FIRST AS A POTENTIAL FIRE AND SAFETY ISSUE, AND SECONDLY AS AN ENVIROMENTAL ISSUE, SULFURIC ACID AND IT'S FUMES CAN CAUSE FIRE AND DEATH. SHORTLY AFTER SIGNING A LEASE TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP IN REVERSE WHILE I WAS USING IT COMMERCIALLY. THE TRUCK HAD SEVERAL YEARS, OR 25000 MILES, LEFT ON WARRANTY SO I CALLED GMC CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR REPAIR.THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT AN AUTHORIZED GMC DEALERS'SHOP, PERFORMANCE CHEVROLET,SACRAMENTO,CA. ONE WEEK LATER THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AGAIN, ONLY THIS TIME I COULDN'T AFFORD TO LOSE THE WORK (SELF-EMPLOYED) AS I DID THE FIRST LOCK UP. SO, I GATHERED MY WITS ABOUT ME AND OPENED THE TOWER/SHIFTER ROD TOP OF THE TRANNY. I FOUND THE BOTTOM OF THE SHIFTER ROD OUT OF ITS DIVIT IN WHICH IT SHIFTS GEARS, AND ALSO SAW THAT THE REVERSE GEAR WAS THROWN INTO REVERSE. I THEN USED A SCREWDRIVER TO PRY THAT GEAR BACK INTO A NUETRAL POSITION. I BUTTONED EVERYTHING BACK INTO PLACE AND RESUMED WORK. THIS BECAME A REGULAR PART OF MY JOBS; THAT IS, "FIXING" THE MANUFACTURER'S PROBLEMED PRODUCT. ABOUT 6 TO 8 MONTHS OF THIS MADDNESS WENT BY, WHEN ONE OF MY CLIENTS COMPLAINED THAT I SEEMED TO BE FIXING THE TRUCK MORE THAN WORKING IT TO FULFIL MY THE CONTRACT WITH HIM. AT THAT, I DECIDED ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH, AND VOWED THAT NEXT TIME THE LOCK UP OCCURED, I WOULD NOT FIX IT. I DIDN'T HAVE LONG TO WAIT BEFORE GIVEN THE CHANCE TO KEEP THAT PROMISE,AND THIS TIME I SENT THE TRUCK TO GMC'S OTHER REPAIR SHOP IN THE SACRAMENTO AREA, FB HART, HOPING FOR A REAL CURE. ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER I RECEIVED A CALL SAYING MY TRUCK WAS REPAIRED. IT DIDN'T LAST,BUT FEELING SIMPLY BEATEN BY THE BIG BOYS, I RESOLVED TO BEING A NOBODY AND KEPT FIXING IT MYSELF. HOWEVER, THIS TIME THE LOCK UP CAUSED REAR END DAMAGE, AMOUNTING TO $3501.44 AND RENTALS TOTALLING TO $9,000! I'M NEAR RUINED. GMC'S GAYLA CHASE SAYS THEY'RE ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRANSMISSION. IN BOTH INSTANCES IT APPEARS THE METAL PORTION THAT THE HANDLE IS SCREWED INTO IS NOT A HIGH GRADE METAL AND THUS CAN BE BROKEN IN TWO PIECES FROM REGULAR USE. PER OUR SERVICE ADVISORS AT THE PONTIAC/GMC DEALERSHIP, THEY'VE INDICATED THIS WAS THE PART THAT USED THE LOWEST GRADE MATERIAL THUS THEY HAVE SEEN MORE OF THIS PART BREAK ON THIS TRUCK THAN ANYTHING ELSE. ALSO, THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE INDICATED THIS WAS THE SECOND TRUCK WITH THIS PROBLEM THIS WEEK. I DEFINATELY NEED TO KNOW IF THIS COULD BE A PROBLEM IN THE LONG RUN WITH THESE TRUCKS IN QUESTION. VEHICLE SHAKES AS TO BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. REPAIR CENTER SAYS THAT THE CLUTCH PLATE IS BINDING. EXTENDED WARRENTY DOES NOT COVER AS IT IS A "WEAR" COMPONENT. SEEMS UNREASONABLE TO ME THAT A CLUTCH PLATE WOULD WEAR OUT AFTER ONLY 50,000 MILES.
ENGINE WOULD MAKE KNOCKING NOISES. TOOK TO DEALER & INFORMED CONSUMER OF POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE CRAHKSHAFT. NO KNOWN SOLUTION FOR KNOCKING PROBLEM. *AK
TRUCK MAKES POPPING NOISE IN FRONT END WHEN TURNING OR STOPPING HARD. VEHICLE HAS HAD 6 SERVICE ORDERS FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. THIS AMOUNTS TO ABOUT 15 VISITS TO THE SHOP. I HAVE TRIED THREE DIFFERENT GMC SERVICE CENTERS. TO DATE THEY HAVE STILL NOT SUCCEEDED AT SOLVING THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM 1ST OCCURRED 3-20-99 WITH 6045 MILES. EVERY TIME THEY HAVE EITHER TIGHTEN, LUBED OR REPLACED SOMETHING. THE PROBLEM ALWAYS REOCCURS SHORTLY AFTER SERVICE. CURRENTLY THEY ARE ORDERING SOME MORE PARTS TO REPLACE. BETWEEN THIS AND OTHER PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK IN THE SHOP SO MUCH THAT I HAVE HAD TO PURCHASE A SECOND VEHICLE (NOT A GM PRODUCT!)SO I HAVE SOMETHING TO DRIVE WHEN THIS ONE IS IN THE SHOP. I TRULY FEEL I HAVE A LEMON IN MY DRIVEWAY. I CAN SUBMIT FULL DEALER DOCUMENTATION UPON REQUEST.
DECALS ON FRONT BUMPER AND DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WERE PEALING OFF. THESE WERE BOTH REPLACED ON SERVICE ORDER DATED 6-25-98. THIS HOWEVER TOOK 3 TRIPS, 3 DIFFERENT DAYS AND ABOUT 2 WEEKS TIME TO COMPLETE. DECALS ARE NOW BEGINNING TO PEAL OFF AGAIN. THIS TIME THE PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR IS JOINING IN ON THE PEALING. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEY SAID, "STONE CHIPS ON FRT, PASS. DOOR HAS DING FROM ANOTHER VEHICLES DOOR STONE CHIPS -DAMAGE NOT WARRANTABLE-STRIPED ARE WELL ADHERED". I FOUND THIS RATHER AMUSING BECAUSE I CAN TAKE A HOSE AND SPRAY THEM OFF. I ASSUME THEY MUST HAVE A HIGH POWER MICROSCOPE TO SEE A DING IN THE DOOR. I STILL CAN NOT FIND ONE IN THIS AREA. I NOW HAVE ANOTHER GMC DEALER WORKING ON REPLACING THEM FOR THE SECOND TIME. THEY HAVE THEM ON ORDER. 7-26-99
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL LOCKS UP AND PULLS THE VEHICLE TO LEFT OR RIGHT. DEALER SAYS IT'S NORMAL. *AK
HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER TO CHECK THE BRAKES. THE ROTORS HAD WORN OUT & WERE SHOT. SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED MANUFACTER OF PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THE ROTORS, BUT NOT THE PADS. WAS CHARGED FOR THE ROTORS, EVEN THOUGH UNDER WARRANTY. HAD VEHICLE CHECKED AGAIN & REPAIRS WERE NOT DONE, BUT THE ROTORS WERE TURNED. *AK

FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT WILL NOT LOCK INTO PLACE AND SLIDES, REPLACEMENT OF SEAT/TRACK AND LATCH AND SEVERAL REPAIRS HAVE NOT RECTIFIED PROBLEMS. MJS
PAPER OR SOME LIKE OBJECT MUST HAVE BLOWEN ONTO THE MUFFLER FROM THE ROAD SURFACE, CATCHING TRUCK ON FIRE. *AK
DEALER REPLACED THE ENGINE SEALS AND OIL HOSES, THE BRAKES HAVE NOT FAILED, BUT IF PUT IN A CLOSER SITUATION THAN I WAS ALREADY PLACED AND ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE OCCURRED. I HAVE THE 6.5L DIESEL AND THE BRAKES AND THE POWER STEERING ARE CONNECTED TO THE MASTER CYLINDER. THIS CONNECTION ?? THE STEERING BECOME VERY TIGHT WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, EVEN WITH THE TRUCK SITTING STILL. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES TO GET IT RESOLVED TO NO AVAIL.
WAS REAR ENDED BY A VEHICAL TRAVELING ABOUT 2O MPH+ SUPORT BAR AT TOP EDGE OF SEAT DAMAGED MY BACK BETWEEN THE SHOULDER BLADES. *AK

I BELIEVE BUMPER SHOULD HAVE NOT BORKE IN THE MIDDLE WITH SUCH A SMALL AND LIGHT IMPACT. I BELIEVE THE DAMAGE WAS DUE TO FAULTY BUMPER MAKEUP THAT DID NOT HOLD UP UNDER THE COLD WEATHER CONDITION, BUT SHOULD HAVE.
THE CONSUMER HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH REAR SWAY BAR. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WOULD SWAY FROM SIDE TO SIDE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK

THIRD BRAKE LIGHT IS MOUNTED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOF-MORE THAN SIX FEET OFF THE GROUND,WHEREAS THE TAIL LIGHTS ARE MOUNTED MORE THAN FIVE FEET OF THE GROUND, AFFECTING DRIVER'S VISION. DRIVER HAS TO LOOK UP, AND THAT TAKES A CONSCIOUS ADJUSTMENT OF HIS/HER VISION. THIS POSES A SAFETY PROBLEM BECAUSE IT INTERRUPTS THE DRIVER'S CONCENTRATION. *AK
