There is a Ford Customer Satisfaction Program, 25N09 issued September 2025 which covers half shaft replacement for Mavericks manufactured from 12/01/21 through 11/23/22. The upgraded beefier replacement half shafts were not available until late 2024. The program states that if the half shafts on one side fails that that both half shafts are to be replaced. My 2022 Maverick was manufactured 11/21/2021 (the second month of production), a mere 10 days before the initial date of coverage. The half shaft on one side was replaced on 01/10/25 with the upgraded version of the half shaft under warranty. They did not replace the other side. If the beefier replacement half shafts were not available until late 2024 how am I to believe that my Maverick does not have the same under engineered pieces in the other 68,000 2022 Mavericks?

Per a video posted on LinkedIn on March 20, 2026 by Chris Hackney, a Fountainhead Logistics Class 8 tractor displaying a Texas License plate on the front bumper & equipped with the Kodiak Robotics "Kodiak Driver" autonomous system was pulling three 40' belly dump trailers used to transport frac sand on an unknown public roadway in the West Texas Permian Basin in violation of Texas State law which prohibits triple trailers on public roadways. I can't confirm that the movement of the triple trailers shown in the video actually occurred on a public roadway vs a private lease road in the oil & natural gas fields where Fountainhead Logistics operates. I request NHTSA reach out to Fountainhead Logistics &/or Kodiak Robotics to confirm if such alleged illegal movement was made on a public roadway.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMMarch 18, 2026
My 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid experienced a complete electrical system failure at approximately 15,933 miles, resulting in a no-start condition. The failure involved the vehicle’s electrical distribution system. An authorized Ford dealership (Autos Vega Ford) diagnosed that voltage was not reaching the Body Control Module (BCM) due to a fault in the battery cable and wiring system. The repair required replacement of the 12V battery, high-voltage battery cables, and wiring components. The failure was confirmed by the dealership (Autos Vega Ford) and required multiple jump starts, but the vehicle would not consistently restart after being turned off. There were no prior warning indicators before the failure. The issue occurred suddenly without warning. This failure created a safety risk because the vehicle could not be started or operated. If this failure occurred in an unsafe or remote location, it could leave occupants stranded and unable to move the vehicle. Service records are available through the authorized dealership (Autos Vega Ford). This appears to be a premature electrical system failure at low mileage involving critical components such as battery cables and wiring. Similar issues involving electrical systems, battery defects, and wiring faults have been reported in Ford Maverick Hybrid vehicles. The vehicle became inoperable without warning and required towing/assistance to reach a repair facility. A sudden no-start condition in a hybrid vehicle can create hazardous situations if it occurs in traffic, at intersections, or in remote areas where assistance is not immediately available.
POWER TRAINMarch 13, 2026
My 2022 Ford Maverick (EcoBoost AWD) experienced a sudden transmission failure at approximately 73,000 miles. The dealership diagnosed the issue as coolant contamination entering the transmission due to a failed heat exchanger/transmission cooler. The dealer stated that engine coolant mixed with the transmission fluid, which destroyed the transmission and required replacement of the transmission, replacement of heat exchangers, and flushing of the cooling system. The repair estimate is 11,324.39. Ford acknowledged the issue and provided partial goodwill assistance of 3,079, leaving more than 8,000 out of pocket for the repair. This failure occurred without warning and resulted in complete transmission failure. The dealer indicated that coolant contamination is the cause and referenced Ford service guidance addressing this failure scenario (SSM 53465). I am concerned that a failure of the transmission cooler/heat exchanger can allow coolant to contaminate the transmission and cause catastrophic drivetrain failure at relatively low mileage.

When driving at normal speed, my truck completely shut down with no warning. The instrument panel went dark and the engine shut off. I do not believe I was able to steer, though I think the brakes allowed me to slow the vehicle to a stop. I was near an intersection, so I was lucky to not have been hit from the rear or run in to traffic in front of me. The vehicle was unresponsive and would not turn back on. I was stuck blocking 1 lane of traffic for an hour because the vehicle could not be steered or taken out of gear to push it to the side of the road. I inspected the battery connection and nothing seemed out of place or degraded while trying to get the car out of the road. Highway Patrol also looked, but only was able to offer a tow truck as a solution. My truck has been at the dealer service for almost 2 days awaiting inspection at this point so I have no additional information on what caused this dangerous situation. There had been no indication prior, the truck had started and run normally and all scheduled services had been carried out by the dealer up to this point.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,SERVICE BRAKESFebruary 16, 2026
I have a 2022 Ford Maverick XL Hybrid and the system that failed is the rear lighting system, specifically the tail lamps, brake lamps, and rear turn signals. This appears to be related to the Body Control Module (BCM) software, which was the subject of Ford Recall 24S27 affecting many 2022–2024 Ford Mavericks. The failure began on my vehicle with the left rear tail lamp assembly (running light, brake light, and turn signal), and within approximately two minutes the right rear tail lamp assembly also stopped functioning. Since that time, the entire rear lighting system has been inoperative while driving. This issue creates an extremely serious safety hazard. While driving, my vehicle has no functioning rear running lights, brake lights, or turn signals. This means other drivers cannot see when I am braking, signaling a turn, or even driving at night. This significantly increases the risk of rear-end collisions or other traffic accidents, especially in low visibility conditions. I was unaware of the issue until visually noticing it when unlocking the vehicle, and there were no dashboard alerts to warn me prior to that either. Loveland Ford in Loveland, Colorado inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the rear lighting system is not functioning. However, instead of addressing the known Recall 24S27 Body Control Module software issue, they stated that LED bulbs were installed where halogen bulbs should be and issued an $816 estimate to replace the bulbs. I have never performed any aftermarket modifications, and the vehicle has only been serviced by Ford dealerships. The vehicle has been inspected by Loveland Ford, an authorized Ford dealership. Ford customer service confirmed that Recall 24S27 exists for this exact issue in many 2022–2024 Ford Mavericks but stated there is no record of my VIN receiving the recall remedy, which could mean the recall was never accomplished. No warning lamps, dashboard messages, or other alerts appeared prior to the failure.
EXTERIOR LIGHTINGFebruary 10, 2026
The rear brake lights intermittently do not work, but at the same time the middle third light brake light works fine. also the turn signals work fine. People will rear end me if they don’t see my brake lights. I am a retired, master mechanic, and my son is also a mechanic. We have both looked into this problem and it possibly could be either a module or the turn signal switch. I had no warning of this problem coming on other than someone telling me my rear brake lights stopped working when they were following me. This is a very dangerous situation.

In cold weather -6F The cover over the positive terminal used to jump start the vehicle is impossible to remove. This causes a situation where the vehicle can not be jump started or render assistance to another that needs jump started. The issue stems from the fact that the plastic cover over the positive terminal is unable to bend when it is cold and can not be "unclipped".

Clunking in the front end around 20,000 miles. Brought to multiple dealers and they all said no problem found yet clearly hear clunking both sides front going over bumps or steering back and forth quickly. Finally I just replaced them and noise gone. Second thing is headliner is completely ruined from moisture intrusion and can visibly be seen but dealer states no leaks present yet my headliner is water stained looking like those wet tiles in a school. Third is my transmission. It is very erratic when shifting and sometimes flares when downshifting. Dealers state no problems exist. Operates as designed, yet I have driven other mavericks and they do not have the same issues as myself. I have changed the fluid with genuine ford ulv transmission fluid from dealer at about 50k miles. I change my oil every 3k, changed my differentials and transfer case all with genuine fluid. I am an AAS Automotive Technology graduate and currently ASE certified and have worked in multiple dealerships replacing transmissions, engines, almost anything since I have started. I need to gather my records as I have kept receipts and records as I do all my own maintenance and repairs. I have replaced the downstream oxygen sensor twice. Yesterday morning I got a frozen throttle body and limp mode and if I did not have my scan tool I would have been stranded as it would not let me drive due to the stuck closed codes. All codes since I owned the vehicle with 3 miles on it are stored in my ford app and on my scan tool with vin. I have tried calling ford, email, different dealerships and they deny me or want me to pay out of pocket when I have warranty.

UNKNOWN OR OTHERJanuary 6, 2026
The vehicle experiences water intrusion into the passenger-side footwell and under-carpet area during rain events. The suspected failure involves the body sealing system, potentially including the windshield cowl area, firewall seams, HVAC intake/cowl drainage, or related body panel seals. The vehicle and all affected components are fully intact and available for inspection upon request. The carpet has been lifted to document standing water and mold growth but has not been replaced or permanently altered. This defect presents multiple safety risks, including: Visible Black Mold contamination inside the passenger compartment, airbag, and throughout HVAC system, creating a health hazard for occupants. Potential electrical system damage due to repeated water exposure. Possible impact on airbag and restraint system wiring, which is located beneath the passenger-side dash and carpet. Increased risk of window fogging and reduced visibility during wet conditions. The vehicle is currently unsafe to occupy during or after rain due to these conditions. The problem is consistently reproducible whenever the vehicle is exposed to rain. The issue has occurred repeatedly over the course of ownership. A Ford dealership has acknowledged the presence of water intrusion but has not performed a full diagnostic inspection, instead requiring a paid inspection fee, claiming they are "fully booked until further notice" and stating they are “unaware” of similar issues, despite widespread owner reports.

Battery in the passenger compartment is charging at 15.2 volts constantly. Ford dealer claims this is not a problem, but the battery life has been shortened, and the battery model number states it should be charged between 13.8 and 14.2 volts. The battery is located under the rear seat, inside the passenger compartment. From my limited understanding of battery technology, over-charging can produce hydrogen into the passenger compartment. My vehicle is now on the third battery, and has only 73,511 miles.

HVAC evaporator drain is broken/cracked/clogged at firewall forcing water that should drain to outside of vehicle under the passenger side rubber floor mats, making it unknown to driver for months that this is happening and by the fuse box creating mold, mildew, and electrical issues. This is a known issue with ford trucks. Ford refuses to acknowledge and help with repair requiring removal of dashboard and replacement of moldy floor mats which is a health hazard. Dealership wants several thousand for repairs. This is an engineering design problem and must be recalled due to health hazards, electrical damage to full fuse box being under the carpet that's wet and the fact that ford knows this issue exists but won't correct the design flaw.
SEAT BELTSSeptember 4, 2025
I am getting a “rear seat belt monitor fault” warning on my dash accompanied by an air bag warning light. VISIBILITY/WIPERSeptember 3, 2025
Never in all my years of driving have I or anyone i know experienced a vehicle with such a sensitive windshield that cracks with even minimal impact. I've owned this Ford maverick for under 3 years with 3 chip repairs and 2 replacements. This is unfair to consumers as often we are not aware of this issue until it is too late to change undo the purchases on these vehicles and have to drive faulty vehicles. It's surprising that there's no recall already assessed for something that causes customers to have higher insurance premiums, constant damage that affects visibility and causes some to drive with these defects to avoid extra costs and wasted money. I am hopeful you can assist us consumers in having Ford rectifying these issues at no cost to us as their choice to use defective windshield glass has cost all of us. This issue is widely known by owners and discussed on social media forums in abundance. Dealers are aware of this issue and offer nothing but an attempt to purchase other vehicles. Minimal research on the internet provides an abundance of evidence. I thank you for your time and assistance in advance for this issue.

I was at a stoplight, when the light turned green I went to press the gas and the whole car lost power and died. The car stalled and would not turn over again. The vehicle had power but would not start the engine. All the alerts were flashing on the dash and the car would not go into neutral, so I was stuck in the middle of the roadway. I followed the procedures to activate the manual override and place the car into neutral and the vehicle would still not move. The electrical brake would not allow the vehicle to move. We tried repeatedly to put the car into neutral to move out of an active roadway and would be able to push the vehicle about an inch before the electrical break would kick in again. The vehicle would not start regardless of what was attempted. We even disconnected the battery in hopes of either getting the vehicle into neutral (which did not work either) or restarting whatever was wrong with the electrical system and be able to start the truck. Nothing worked and the vehicle had to be hoisted by pulley onto a flat bed tow truck. Then required to be "shaken" off of the truck when it arrived at the Ford dealership.

When in adaptive cruise control the vehicle must of not seen the lines properly and started to steer towards the ditch. Then when trying to steer back onto the road the truck keep trying to steer into the ditch. The truck was fighting the drivers input even though the truck should deactivate the adaptive cruise control when manually taking over. The truck end up in the ditch and ran over a mailbox. The truck was inspected by Ford but they claimed nothing is wrong with it. It says in the manual that adaptive cruise control sometimes doesn't detect lines properly but when taking control the vehicle shouldn't continue to steer into a ditch. The Ford dealership were not able to get the same results because how can they when this problem doesn't happen all the time? The vehicle should not be fighting the driver instead it should of canceled the adaptive cruise control. It's very dangerous and I think needs to be looked into.

This is possibly more information regarding the known back-up camera recall NHTSA 24V684. After backing out of a parking space 1/26/2025, the camera froze (not the first time) and this time a message appeared in the upper left corner that read: "Indexing Nexus". I have also had on other occasions times where the Infotainment system itself would freeze with no warning and when the back up camera was not in use. I suspect the recall addressing the camera issue is only part of this and that the system itself has issues not related to the camera. Pressing and holding the POWER and Fast Forward buttons forcing a system restart restored usability.

The rear brakes and rotors have prematurely worn out at only 28k miles, while the front brakes are like new. There is no way for me or any local repair shop to put it into brake service mode. The official Ford procedure does not work. NHTSA issued SSM 51217 acknowledging the issue, but the only solution is only to take it to a Ford dealer to do a simple procedure such as changing rear brake pads. This solution is unacceptable and causes an undue burden upon the customer in time and money for a known manufacturing defect. My closest dealer is 1 hour away. It can not pass my state safety inspection without this being done. Ford should be issuing a recall to address this defect, not simply driving people to the dealer network for basic safety maintenance.

In October 2023, we took our 2022 Ford Maverick to a local Ford dealership for a front airbag recall. However, after we picked up our Maverick and we got home we noticed a deep scratch across the top of the dash and the tool from the technician in the console. We contacted the dealership about this scratch. Our Maverick was taken to the dealership in January 2024 for this repair. Upon the completion of installing the dash, the technician scratched the outside of the driver’s side front door causing yet another delay. The Maverick was then taken to their body shop (on premises) to repair the scratch and repaint the door. Within a week of having our Maverick back, we started smelling a very foul odor in the truck. This smell made my throat and nose burn and was nauseating while riding in the truck even with the windows down. We went back to the dealership to meet with the owner about this odor. They removed the seats, carpet, and dash to locate the problem. They discovered a place at the bottom of the windshield that had not been sealed from the manufacturing production department. They discovered black mold in the insulation behind the dash near the firewall and under the carpet. They have discussed this with Ford Motor Company on how to handle this problem. Currently our Maverick is still on the lot at the local dealership, since the first week of April 2024. We have reservations about the mold/mildew odor as a health/breathing issue to continue driving this vehicle. Ford Motor Company has been attempting to come to some agreement of handling this situation but not addressing the odor in the vehicle. After some online research of the 2022/23 Ford Mavericks this seems to be a bigger issue across the nation. There are not any recalls to correct this problem for water intrusion into the vehicle.

I’ve been noticing a frequent issue with my trailer not having the left blinker work per notification it gives. So I gave been checking the information screen for trailer lighting any time that I’m pulling a trailer just to make sure all of my lights are working. Today, the truck told me all lights were on and working with the trailer. Meanwhile, after getting pulled over and explaining the info the truck is giving and then unplugging and replugging the trailer from the truck to prove that the lights do in fact work I was finally dismissed from the traffic stop. So the truck was telling me that all lights are on and working on the trailer… meanwhile there wasn’t a single light on!!! The issue with the left turn signal light not blinking on a trailer is relative to the truck as well since it only does it on the truck and with a multitude of different trailers/magnetic trailer lights.

In early April 2023 I opened my driver’s side door and the inside of my 2022 Ford Maverick was wet from the headliner down to the carpets. There WAS condensation throughout the interior of the vehicle even though the Repair Order stated there was none. The inside of the vehicle was damp. All windows were closed tightly. The headliner, back seat, front seat, carpets, and all the interior was damp. I had a book on my back seat that was damp and the pages were curled. There was MOLD underneath the floor mats. I contacted a MOLD specialist who stated that it is impossible to effectively rid a vehicle of MOLD. He stated that MOLD spores are in every crevice of the truck and it WILL return. On April 6, 2023 I took the truck to The Ford Store where I purchased it. There was 1294 miles on the odometer. They could not find the leak. My vehicle was there for several weeks and the interior was completely torn down from the headliner to the carpets. The Service Department finally said that they located the leak area and repaired it. The dealer guaranteed in writing that the MOLD was gone. On June 23, 2024 (today) I was getting ready to take the truck back to The Ford Store for tomorrow’s appointment. They will be addressing the three recalls. I just noticed MOLD under the mats again. The MOLD is on the floor board and is crawling up the footwells under the rubber mats. There is also MOLD on some of the plastic material close to the floor boards. My health and the health of all passengers who have ridden in my vehicle for the last 14 months have been and continue to be at risk. My vehicle sits at about 26k miles currently. I experienced extreme shaking coming from under the vehicle under acceleration. The issue happened while going up a hill with my whole family. I had to pull over to inspect the issue as it felt like a wheel was coming off. Upon visual inspection both CV Joints were leaking grease all over the undercarriage of my vehicle. A screeching grinding and clunking noise was heard as I continued to drive. This noise went away shortly after, however the shaking upon acceleration continued. It's important to note that I do not take my vehicle off road and is mostly driven on paved roads to and from work and has never been overloaded in anyway. After I took the vehicle to the Dealership, they confirmed that both half shafts were failing and were disintegrating. The passenger side bad enough that it had expelled most of the grease. Continued use would have led to complete failure and could've resulted in an accident. On a vehicle with under 26k miles.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned? It’s not exactly failed or malfunctioned as much as it is just a flawed design. However, the problem is that the drivers seatbelt keeps getting wrapped up in the lever to recline the seat. This results in the handle getting pulled off of the seat constantly, the seat unexpectedly reclining when the driver pulls on the seatbelt too hard, or the seatbelt simply getting bunched up in the handle causing it to just become stuck and non functional. Is it available for inspection upon request? It is available for inspection anytime. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? When the drivers seat suddenly reclines or the seatbelt fails to engage due to being caught up in another component of the vehicle that’s a problem. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No although I can duplicate that issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No.

Manufacturing defect on the cowl deflector seal causes water to leak into the cabin and pool up on the floor of the passenger side front seat. Significant amount of water. This will result in damage to the carpets, mold issues (health and safety concern) along with possible damage to the electronics that is passes through right under and behind the glove box. Also passes through the cabin air filter box. Many Maverick owners have reported this problem in various internet forums, and yet there has not been a recall. I bought a 2022 Maverick on 12 JAN 2022. The car broke down on the highway six months after (23 JUL 2022). Ford service department claimed it was a fuel injector issue and by replacing the part, the truck should be as good as new. Fast forward to Sat 30 DEC 2023 and the truck breaks down on the highway again with the engine light flashing. Ford service department informed me that the engine has to be replaced because several parts are broken/shattered and they do not know how. I am inclined to believe that the issue was never fixed to begin with and Ford put my safety and the lives of the people I care about at risk. I was driving back home from errands and during a stop, the entire car suddenly powered off and became unresponsive. I couldn’t even flash my hazards and was stuck in the middle of a busy intersection. Also couldn’t put it in neutral since the gear shifter is electronically powered. Some bystanders tried to jump my car, but it took 6 solid tries before they could restore power. I drove it another 1000 ft, trying to head to a service center and this time it completely powered off while in motion. I had to fight with the steering wheel to pull it to the shoulder as the power steering went out and the car started making clicking noises. The entire car was completely dead, once again. A tow truck diagnosed the battery as still healthy and suspects a deeper electrical fault with the car. It has been towed to the dealer for service under warranty, but I am reading that I am not the only one with this issue. A lot of folks are getting battery swaps and having the issue recur later. Could this be a wiring harness fault, or a much more pervasive electrical issue? The entire episode was terrifying, and I could have gotten into a major accident if this was on a busier road.

I have a 2022 Ford Maverick, 2.0 ecoboost engine, awd. I have been having brake problems since the beginning. The problem is the front brakes do not back out enough to leave a proper air gap between the brake pad and rotor when deactivating the service mode. Therefore the pads keep riding on the rotors causing glazing and grabby brakes when coming to a stop behind a vehicle. Turning off the active breaking did help with the grabby brakes when stopping behind a vehicle, but did not resolve the glazing issue. I took the truck into two dealerships and the techs. could not find a solution. the front calipers, front brake hoses and the brake master cylinder have been replaced with no success. Maybe the solution is to adjust the air gap settings somewhere in the software.

The Ford Maverick rear view camera is dangerously laggy - it will freeze several times during backing. It also washes out in bright sun. I consider this a dangerous feature that should be addressed.

SERVICE BRAKESFebruary 6, 2023
(there is a brake system malfunction. When braking sometimes the brakes would skip and I could feel the brakes not grabbing the rotors the way they should. the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer because the dealership could not figure out what was causing the problem with the brakes. the dealership inspected the brakes. there was no warning lamps or messages of the brake problem.) I first started to hear a intermittent rubbing noise when braking and driving slow a couple months after I purchased the vehicle. I took it the vehicle into the dealership and they could not figure out what was wrong. I was told perhaps i was to aggressive on the brakes. the problem continued so i went to another dealership and they looked at the brakes and could not figure out what was causing the noise. the rotors looked glossy (glazed) So I decided to replace the rotors and brakes at my cost because I was told the truck was out of warranty. one week after the repairs were made, I started to hear the rubbing noise again. I was furious! I couldnt believe this was happening on a brand new vehicle, especially on a ford. So I continued to drive until the rotors got so bad that the steering wheel was shaking when I braked.the rotors were warped. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and replace the brake pads and rotors using the ford manual for the 2022 maverick. This time I decided to only drive eco mode on the highway and normal mode in the city. I also turn off the active braking every time I got in the truck. I was also very careful not to be aggressive on the brakes and not to ride them when slowing down. I kept a close watch on the rotors. after two weeks of driving the rubbing noise started again and the rotors are glazed again. I do not know if its a mechanical issue with the brake calipers/master cylinder or a computer/software issue. I cannot afford to be replacing brakes and rotors every two weeks. I am greatly disappointed in ford motor company .

I was working on my vehicle, when I close the hood. Upon closing, I heard something, I go to open, and the hood latch is stuck closed, not sure if that's a safety concern, but it was for me, as I could not access any important components of my vehicle, took it to the dealer, but still something of concern on a new vehicle.

I know there are issues with the Hybrid versions, but this one is not a hybrid. I have had the battery die 4 separate times resulting in me being stranded due to no fault of my own. This Ford Maverick was purchased through the Military Auto Sales at Ramstein AB Germany. It is US-spec and owned/operated by a US Military member stationed overseas. The first time it happened at the Frankfurt airport after owning it for a week and driving it from the Port of Bremerhaven (port of entry). Once I got it jumped and back to Ramstein I did not have an issue for 3 weeks. It died after sitting for three days over New Years. I jumped it and drove it around for over an hour to charge the battery. I then left it for a few days to see if it occurred again. One week later it died. I then jumped it and drove it around again to charge the battery. At this point I suspected the Ford Pass Connect, bluetooth or wifi to be the cause so I turned all of those off. After going on a work trip for a week I came back to discover it was dead again. Something is wrong with teh battery or electrical system. It should automatically go to a deep sleep mode if lower voltage is detected. I don't know what is running (it is not something the driver selected) but it is killing the battery. The last time my Duracell jump pack registered an error and could not jump it. This is a serious defect that can leave people stranded without warning.
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEMDecember 13, 2022
The main fuel line feeding the fuel pump ruptured without warning, causing gas to spray across the engine compartment. The hot engine caused the gas to start cooking off, resulting in a fire in the engine compartment. The fuel line rupture has been confirmed by my Ford dealership.

The 2022 Ford Maverick has a design flaw the harms the environment and places driver and passengers at risk. Specifically the vehicle does not have a metal skid plate which places the Evap System at risk for damage. If the system is damaged the vehicle is still driveable, but doing so allows gas vapors into the environment and worse, possibly into the passenger compartment. Looking under the vehicle, one finds some sort of fabric or mesh material which is definately not robust enough to protect the evap system components from damage. Driving on paved roads....no problem. Using this vehicle as a truck involves driving on farm land, pastures, lightly wooded areas, etc. This is where the damage may occur. There is no warning posted on the vehicle or in the owners manual that warns drivers to avoid these areas. The solution is simple. A recall to replace the fabric or mesh material with a metal skid plate. Most trucks and off-road vehicles have metal skid plates as standard components. Why the 2022 Maverick does not is beyond my understanding.

The side curtain airbags in my 2022 Ford Maverick have been recalled, but the replacement parts will not be available for 5-6 months. This is a Massive safety concern for me as I drive the truck with my 1 and 3-year-old daughters. This is a dangerous situation that I am being told can not be remedied in a timely manner. I can not be expected to cover the added cost of a rental vehicle for close to half of a year and I refuse to put my children and myself in danger by continuing to use this faulty vehicle.

POWER TRAINAugust 29, 2022
Transmission Failure. Following a 550 mile road trip over two days. The transmission would fail to engage in Drive and Reverse until the engine was throttled to 4000-4500RPM. Transmission felt like a Manual with failing clutch, would slip until slowly engaging after running at high RPMs for a few seconds. The condition appeared after the first day of the trip, and was intermittent, occurring only during standing starts. Once the vehicle was moving, there was no problem maintaining speed. Over the next two days the condition deteriorated to the point where it was occurring almost every time the vehicle was started and an attempt was made to start from a stand still. It began to become noticeable shifting from 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 as well, where it felt like the transmission was slipping during acceleration. There were no warning lamps or indications from the vehicle that there was a failure. This caused a loss of power and acceleration, which endangers the vehicle occupants in situations where power and acceleration is needed, such as merging, crossing intersections, or making defensive driving maneuvers. This vehicle was towed to a dealer, where the dealer validated the concern, and the transmission was replaced under warranty. Repair notes state that the transmission converter had failed. The transmission was returned to the manufacturer during the service visit. There are multiple instances online of other vehicles with this transmission having the same problem.
SERVICE BRAKESJune 13, 2022
Mavericks with Integrated Trailer Brake Controllers are not sending any voltage to the trailer brakes when the brake pedal is pressed. Customers are at risk of not having the anticipated additional braking ability of their trailers and will be putting the entire braking load on the truck alone. A Ford dealership had my vehicle for 2 weeks with no repairs done or guidance on when it would be repaired.
BACK OVER PREVENTIONJune 10, 2022
The backup camera has been freezing off and on since buying the truck. When backing up, the camera will lag and then jump to the current picture the camera is showing. Earlier today, while backing up towards my trailer, the camera lagged causing me to run into the trailer. There was no damage to the truck or trailer, but is a safety issue if anyone crosses behind you while in reverse.
