Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012 Ford Fusion and Mustang and Lincoln Zephyr and MKZ vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands, or "Zone A." Additionally, unless included in "Zone A" above, Ford is recalling certain 2009 Ford Ranger, Edge, Fusion and Mustang, Lincoln MKX, MKZ and Zephyr and Mercury Milan vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, or "Zone B." Additionally, unless included in "Zone A" or "Zone B" above, Ford is recalling certain 2007-2008 Ford Ranger, Edge and Lincoln MKX, 2006-2008 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr and MKZ, 2005-2008 Ford Mustang and 2005-2006 Ford GT vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in the states of Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.

Consequence: An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the repair has been performed. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. Interim letters informing owners of the recall and that parts are not yet available began mailing March 1, 2017. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain all weather driver side accessory floor mats sold for use in model year 2006-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, and 2007-2011 Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured November 9, 2007, through October 31, 2010. The affected floor mats may move and possibly interfere with the accelerator pedal.

Consequence: The floor mat could shift such that it could interfere with the accelerator pedal, preventing its return to an idle position, which could result in unintended vehicle speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install new replacement mats, free of charge. The recall began in July 2014. Owners may contact Ford's customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S07. NOTE: Vehicles built after October 31, 2010, while potentially equipped with the same floor mats, are equipped with a Brake Over Accelerator (BOA) feature that prevents simultaneous accelerator and brake application, allowing the vehicle to be safely stopped by pressing firmly and steadily on the brake pedal.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The air bag and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle later failed to be started. The vehicle was towed to the residence by AAA, who attempted to jumpstart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to start. AAA related the failure to the transmission; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that the air bag parts were on backorder. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.

MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON 2 DAYS AFTER DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG WAS REPLACED. DEALER WANTED $129.50 TO TELL ME THE REASON. AFTER CHECKING I WAS TOLD IT IS SOMEWHERE IN THE WIRING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND IT WILL COST ME $500. TO REMOVE THE SEAT AND THE SEAT COVERS AND AN ESTIMATED $500 TO FIX THE WIRING PROBLEM. I AM [XXX] AND THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY FOR ME TO PAY. WHY IS A PROBLEM LIKE THAT MY PROBLEM AND NOT FORD MOTOR??? The passenger airbag was replaced, and is now trying to pop out of the cover. The upper left corner is bulging outward.

ABS and WRENCH icon are flashing on dashboard. Car making a terrible noise from underneath . I try to drive the car but it loses power and goes into LIMP mode. I have read many problems with the ABS control module valves sticking open due to the wrong type of brake fluid put in by manufacturer. My car is a 2007 ford fusion sel AWD with only 89,000 miles. I need a recall service appointment as quickly as possible because this is the only vehicle I own. The car is just sitting in my driveway. HELP!!!!!!!!!

Additionally, the vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle. The driver air bag exploded. The contact was able to exit the vehicle without assistance. The contact was transported to the hospital with the assistance of Uber. The contact was informed that he had sustained a broken sternum and bruised ribs. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the residence, where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The contact received a recall notice of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000 (Air Bags), that he related to the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

My boyfriends mom was up north driving and the latch on the driverside door stopped working. She's 60+ and still years later has to tie her door close and climb over the passenger seat to get in the car. I can get it closed if it's accidentally opened just like an inch but the door absolutely cannot to opened any further.

This vehicle was totaled in May 2020. I had numerous and constant brake issues with this car and had much of the brake system (brake pads, rotors, and calipers I believe) replaced within a year of the accident. The accident occurred when I tried to apply the brakes, causing me to hydroplane into an oncoming car. My concern is that this could be related to the ABS recall (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 19V904000). Although my vehicle does not appear to be affected by the recall, it seems very similar to the brake issues I experienced.

Took my car on to check why seat belt light was on after bag replaced. Told there is a sensor under passenger seat that reflects weight in seat that is not working that is used in case accident airbag pressure would be deployed. Light will not turn off on dash and told me out of warranty is not on repair list… I have 2007 fusion that I can’t sell because of safety light. Who is responsible for that. Service at dealer said sorry can’t help me.. it would be 400.00??? R u kidding .
