1) rear camera recall since November 2024, still no action. No rear vision on camera. 2) trim panel on driver door has flown off on highway twice, have area covered with black tape for a year now. I have heard nothing from Ford or dealer. Can't even get through to the dealer's service dept.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHERApril 29, 2026
Along with problems from the current recalls (that still don't have remedies), our 2019 Ford Flex also has a faulty gas gauge. Not sure what component it would be considered, but even when we fill the tank up with gas, it doesn't register properly how much gas we have in the tank. It shouldn't be a guessing game as to how much gas is in the vehicle. I used to love Fords, but the combination of safety issues is concerning.

The power steering system failed and numerous other electrical systems showed as broken as a result. The dealer service dept said: "We found corrosion on connector C1467A meaning that water is getting inside the connector somehow which caused the module to short out. The steering rack is not the failure, it is the module. However, the module is built into the steering rack. Can't replace it separately. So In order to replace the module, I have to replace the rack." This failure caused the power steering to stop working, making it extremely difficult to drive the vehicle. The repair cost over $4000.

Rear view camera inoperative. Safety recall issued Dec of 24 and still no sign of a remedy from Ford. That makes 2 Safety recalls on my vehicle with no fix. The other 25V732 was issued Nov 25. I’ve already had 2 incidents that resulted in minor bumps and scratches in the rear due to loss of the camera. Great feature when you have it working

STEERINGMarch 26, 2026
The power steering has stopped working. After starting the car it shows a "Steering Assist Fault" message and the steering doesn't work. Thankfully this happened when the car was stopped. My car battery is fine so this must be a failure in the Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) system.

The recalled B Pillar has detached this weekend in the front of the left driver's side B pillar- it seems as it being held on by the keyless entry components. It is at approx 25 degree angle to the body of the car. As an added consequence of the redirected airflow- the driver's side door is very cold as air is getting in where it previously didn't. I scheduled with the AutoNation Amherst dealership for evaluation and repair. When I called back to move the appointment it was cancelled because I was told there is no fix/no parts. ???

I have a 2019 Ford Flex. In 2023 the backup camera stopped working. The screen is blue. This creates a problem when backing up, especially in store parking lots or pulling out of my garage. Unable to view what is behind the vehicle and risk of damage or injury to what is behind me. Dealer inspected and said camera needed to be replaced. We had it replaced in Nov. 2023. Recall received in January 2025. They have yet resolved the recall, and we are still waiting on a $630.00 refund.

I have recieved the notice from the manufacturer as expected. I have been notified by my local dealership of the recall. I have attempted several times since notification to have it corrected. I have been told on every occasion the parts were not available. Yet, a bit of searching on Ford's own parts website, I can order the part and have it delivered by Feb 26. At every service visit, the dealership has kindly reminded me of the needed recalls. I question, no parts? Is ford just thinking I will get tired and just stop. No parts in stock should mean, NONE in Ford's entire inventory. The part in question is only used on Ford Flex. No other models use this device. The reserved devices cannot be "for new car builds". I believe we are on the edge of a "BAD FAITH" arguement. An issued "Safety Recall" should not mean "Suggested when you have time Recall.

On or about January 22, 2026 when I put my 2019 Ford Flex in reverse the rear view camera displayed a torn and/or flickering picture for the first time ever that I had seen. The image will occasionally stop with an inverted camera image. Since then the camera display on the dash board will at times also display a message saying something like "rear view camera not available" with no camera image at all. Occasionally the camera image will be normal intermittently. Moving the transmission select lever to park or other locations besides reverse and back to reverse does not seem to correct the camera image problem. This problem was first noticed in my 2019 Ford Flex on or about January 22, 2026. About 13 months ago I received a recall notice in the USPS mail advising that I would be contacted about the recall for this problem. So far, no contact has been received by me. Now that the camera problem has started in my vehicle trying to back up and avoid obstacles or people has become a large concern due to the blind spot behind the vehicle without the camera working.

I just purchased a 2019 ford flex in September from Bessette Motors in Carrington ND. When I purchased the vehicle the rear backup camera had an inverted image. The dealership told me they would bring my car back in the following week to fix the camera because the said someone must have flipped the camera over accidently. They have not fixed it, nor they did not tell me the camera issue was part of a recall. I have had the vehicle now for over a month and still have an upside-down back up camera. It has nearly caused multiple accidents because I cannot turn it off and it's very distracting being inverted. I see the recall for my vehicle has been out since December 2024. That is a long time for no fix!! It is dangerous to continue to drive my vehicle the way it is with no fix

While driving down a highway at 70mph, the keypad on the driver's door detached from the body and was hanging by wires. We had to pull over. We couldn't get it back in so we put the window down and had to zip tie it to the door frame, leaving the window down for our entire long trip. We were afraid it was going to fly off and hit the car behind us, causing damage and a safety hazard. We took the car to Stevens Ford Jersey City and had it repaired. This is a cost we paid for. The only warming sign was a constant whistling sound we would hear.

See attached document for complaint. I am writing because back in January I received a notice of recall to have the rearview camera replaced because of inverted, blank, or distorted image. I had that camera replaced for those very same symptoms several weeks before the recall was announced. After working at a Ford Dealer for 23 years, I do know that you refund the cost of any work done that would have fallen under a recall. The notice says that parts are unavailable now, but they were available, within on week, when I had the problem corrected. As such, I am asking for a refund now, because I know that some parts take nearly forever to get. For those vehicle sitting on lots that cannot be sold because of an open recall is very frustrating for the dealer. Again, I am asking for a refund now for work that would have fallen under this recall, #24S75.

The backup camera is dysfunctional. It shows an inverted, upside-down image, sometimes it is just black or unavailable, it is glitchy. It is available for inspection upon request. The errors have made it unsafe to backup or see oncoming (from the rear) traffic. It is a known issue with a known recall. It is still ongoing with no solution "parts are not available" - for an unreasonable amount of time. It's a 2019. It's had problems since it was designed, yet it's SIX YEARS LATER and FORD has NOT come up with a solution. I have had it inspected by the FORD service department at the local dealership, and they have no clue other than that it's under recall without a solution. Sometimes the system tells you the camera isn't working, other times it doesn't. Where is the enforcement?

It is available for inspection as it has not been fixed yet. 2) I didn't see where it went, but it had the potential to fly off and hit any cars behind me. 3) Car has been inspected by mechanic at Ford dealership and provided cost for part to fix. 4) Car has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance rep, etc. 5)No warning lamps, messages or any symptoms prior to failure. I honestly thought something hit my car. I ended up pulling over to assess the situation. It was then that I noticed the panel broke off and the remaining piece was left hanging.

B pillar keyless entry panel became mostly detached while car was operating at highway speeds. My safety and the safety of others was compromised due to my alarm at the noise of the panel striking my vehicle. Panel struck my vehicle several times before the top half broke off and was lost, which also may have compromised the safety of drivers following me, as I did not see where it flew off to. Bottom half of panel is still attached by wiring and I have it secured to vehicle with tape. No warnings or notifications preceded this event. I didn't report it yet because I have not had time to find a replacement part. I recently saw that this may be a widespread issue among 2019 Flexes and not something I somehow caused to happen.

SUSPENSION,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINEJuly 25, 2025
I am submitting a formal complaint regarding multiple premature and potentially safety-related failures on my 2019 Ford Flex, purchased new on 11/25/2019. These include: ️ 1. Rear Suspension / Rear Toe Link Concern Although my vehicle is not included in Ford’s rear toe link recall (20S62), it is experiencing the same symptoms: Rear-end instability and drifting Uneven or premature rear tire wear Clunking or loose feeling from the rear suspension I have an appointment scheduled for August 6, 2025 to inspect the rear toe bar links, as I suspect they are defective or misaligned — the exact condition the recall addresses. 2. Water Pump Failure The engine water pump failed before 100,000 miles, requiring a full replacement. This is a known issue in several Ford engines, and repair was required out-of-pocket despite the vehicle being well maintained. 3. Exterior Trim Detachment Multiple exterior trim pieces detached from the vehicle while driving, posing a road hazard to myself and others. These parts did not appear to be securely fastened from the factory. 4. Premature Tire Wear Rear tires wore out far earlier than expected — possibly linked to suspension or alignment issues, including the toe link concerns mentioned above. 5. Ongoing Electrical Failures Since August 2022, I have had to return to the dealership multiple times for electrical system issues: 8/3/2022 11/2/2022 2/14/2024 These included battery/electrical drain issues and warning system malfunctions, which affect the vehicle’s reliability and safety. These problems began less than 3 years after purchasing the car new. These issues raise serious concerns about the overall build quality and long-term safety of the 2019 Ford Flex. I am concerned that my vehicle may have: Been excluded from critical recalls, despite showing identical failure patterns Undergone multiple early mechanical and electrical repairs Developed safety-related defects that compromise both driver & public safety.

The black glossy plastic applique on the Driver's Door Window Frame (also containing the Keyless Entry Keypad) blew off on the Expressway at approximately 70 MPH. While the wire harness retained the lower portion of the applique, the applique cracked from the force of the separation, for which the bottom third of the applique hung from the harness whereby the upper two-thirds of the applique became a projectile and flew onto the expressway. After sharing this with a friend (also owning a 2019 Ford Flex), he said his came off last year. Upon further studying this matter, it appears that in Ford's wisdom they only used small strips of double-sided tape to retain this; for which there are many reports of this same failure mode: [XXX] In their infinite wisdom, Ford now only sell the Applique Panel with the Keypad (Ford Part Number BA8Z7420555AC ), rendering it at a MSRP of $228.83 just for the replacement part. The Ford Parts Counter Person said they sell a lot of these, due to the poor design and retention. As this is a hazard to others on the road (e.g. potentially becoming a projectile) Ford should be forced to Recall this defect. Rear park aid camera failure. The camera does not always display when reverse is selected. The camera only shows an upside down image when it displays. The camera displays severe vertical lines when dark, virtually making the display useless. This is a safety issue because I cannot see persons or objects behind me if the camera is inoperable. If the camera is operable, with the display upside down, it is disorienting to use as a means of protecting persons or objects behind me as well as protecting my vehicle from damage. I have not taken it to the dealer for this issue, as it began after the warranty period expired. The problem has not been inspected by a dealer, independent service center, the manufacturer, police or insurance representatives. The vehicle has not been recalled for this issue. I find this surprising, given the large number of Ford vehicles which have been recalled for rear camera problems. I also find this to be a somewhat common problem with the Ford Flex across multiple model years, based on viewing of various chat boards found on the internet.

The problem was with the backup camera. The problem started when we had about 25,000 miles on the car, I ended up getting the camera replaced at 36,000 miles. The camera worked properly 90 to 95% of the time. Sometimes it would just be fuzzy, sometimes it would be blank and say camera not available, and other times it showed everything upside down. Sometimes the obstacle beeper would work, and when the camera wasn't working the Beeper would not work. We were going on a trip over the recent Christmas holidays out of state and my wife wanted the Peace of Mind of having that camera working. We are both retired, and I took it to a dealer and it cost almost $700 to replace the camera. I told the Ford dealer that I wanted the bad camera, and I do possess it. I have Googled the problem, and I noticed that it is a rampant problem with Ford vehicles but I am convinced that they haven't done a recall on the Flex because they stopped making these vehicles in 2019. I have a 15-year-old Chrysler product with 150,000 miles on it and the backup camera works perfectly. Ford seems to recall all of their new and current vehicles for this identical problem but they have no intention of helping me with the cost. I've called them several times and I have a case number with them but the only response that I have gotten, is that there's no recall so they can't do anything about it. Interestingly, when I made the appointment to get it fixed the service guy said he had to check inventory of the cameras because they go through them so quickly. He got back to me and told me that they had just received six more so I could come in right away and get it taken care of. I had it fixed December 15th at Dean Sellers Ford in Troy Michigan. I have taken pictures of the invoice and the bad part but I can't seem to load them on this form

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VISIBILITY/WIPER,BACK OVER PREVENTIONJune 26, 2023
My Ford reverse camera fails to display a correct image, decreasing driver visibility. It is nearly always displayed upside down or occasionally the image fails to appear at all. The parking guide lines also fail to display since January. There were no warning lights when the malfunction began in January 2023 and at that same time, the camera started remaining on while I drive forward, showing a live upside down view while driving forward for various amounts of time after shifting out of reverse. The Ford dealership says they have several people with rear view camera malfunctions right now but they aren't manufacturing those cameras at this time so they can't fix it and there is no ETA at all. In addition to that, they quoted a high price to fix this some day when the part is made again even though it's clearly a manufacturer defect. I've been repeatedly asking Ford for help with my faulty rear view safety camera since Jan 2023. The dealership inspected it and confirmed the defect which is easily reproduced by simply putting the vehicle in reverse. They did not inspect the cables, wiring or electrical components even though I requested it. There has been no resolution and my car is unsafe in reverse because of the Ford camera defect and non-working backover protection. This is a long vehicle and the defective reverse camera or camera wiring causing the image to be upside down or flashing off to black creates a risk of backing up into people, objects and other vehicles. It is extremely troubling and dangerous at all times in reverse, especially in parking lots and in areas with pedestrian or vehicular traffic, street parking and in tight conditons such as parking structures and garages. I've been asking for a resolution from Ford for almost 6 months. I need the camera and wiring repaired ASAP or a temporary vehicle to drive until this safety issue is resolved. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Thank you.

Back up camera not working; started flashing on/off, turning upside down, and now simply does not work; the beeping still works to let you know you’re close but the visual is not available. Not being able to SEE what is behind me is a safety issue as well as not being able to see how close I am to objects. I have taken my Flex to Tim Short Ford Dealership in Morehead, KY where the problem was reproduced. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative. Backup Camera functions intermittently. This began at approx 37k miles and 25months of age (vehicle built in June 2019). Backup camera may work, or not, when the vehicle is put in to reverse. This is very similar to the behavior described in other Ford backup camera recalls for other vehicles. Seems like the 2019 Flex should be added. This poses a danger when backing the vehicle.

OCCASIONALLY WHEN I AM TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT THERE IS A CLUNKING NOISE UNDER THE FRONT END OF MY CAR. I TYPICALLY BACK INTO A PARKING SPACE AND WHEN I AM LINING UP MY CAR TO BACK IN IS MOSTLY WHEN THE NOISE OCCURS. IT IS A LOUD SOUND THAT ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE A POPPING OR SNAPPING. IT DOES NOT MATTER THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE, NOR DOES IT MATTER WHETHER IT IS DRY OR WET. IT ISN'T HAPPENING EVERY TIME EITHER. IT IS FRIGHTENING, THOUGH, BECAUSE I HAD A TIE ROD SNAP ON A CAR ONE TIME AND IT ALWAYS MAKES ME THINK OF THAT. I DID TAKE IT TO A FORD GARAGE AND IT DIDN'T MAKE THE SOUND SO THEY DID NOTHING BECAUSE THEY REALLY COULDN'T TELL ME WHAT IT MAY BE. MY CAR IS GARAGE KEPT.
