Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Bronco Sport and Escape vehicles. The rear brake linings may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can affect braking performance. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Consequence: During certain situations, the driver may have to apply more brake pedal force, and the distance required to stop the vehicle may be extended, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 Corsair and 2021-2022 Escape vehicles equipped with a 2.5L Hybrid powertrain. The high voltage battery may fail, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power.
Consequence: A sudden loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Consequence: An oil leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components, can increase the risk of a fire.

The manufacturer was not made aware of the issues. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

Consequence: Battery failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. Battery failure can also increase the risk of a fire.

The image on the center display may flip or invert, resulting in an incorrectly displayed rearview image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission slipped out of gear while attempting to accelerate. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Panoramic sun roof shade came loose and dropped down. Ford dealer wants $1400 - 1700 to fix it. I purchased Ford premium extended warranty for $3500. Warranty claim denied because they claim it was made of fabric which is not covered. What a scam. I contacted warranty myself and they informed me they can only cover if it was mechanical or electrical failure. I feel it is mechanical in nature. I've read a lot of complaints about escape sun shade failures. This should be a recall issue due to safety concerns from falling shades.
The HVAC evaporator condensate drain tube fails to drain externally, leaking water into the cabin. This saturates interior carpets, padding, wiring, and HVAC housing, causing extensive mold growth—a biohazard creating respiratory/infection risks. Severe since November 2025. Linked to Ford TSB 20-2358 (Oct 2020). Insurance declared total loss due to health/safety hazard. Husband has autoimmune muscle disease—mold exposure dangerous. Ford RAV denied twice (latest Feb 20, 2026, case XXX-XXX). This is a known latent design flaw Ford was aware of before my car was built—breaching implied warranty as the vehicle isn’t fit for safe use. The power window on our 2022 Ford Escape will remain down after being rolled down and cannot be raised. This issue has occurred three separate times. When it happens, the vehicle cannot be secured and is exposed to weather and theft. The failure appears to be intermittent but recurring, indicating a possible design or electrical defect rather than misuse. This creates a safety and security risk, especially if the failure occurs while away from home or during bad weather. This problem has happened multiple times and is not resolved by normal operation of the window switch. Engine problems are occurring as well due to the stated recalls provided by nhtsa.
Just after 36 month warranty expired, ceiling sunscreen came off track hanging down into car obstructing view through rear view mirror.
I have had issues with my car since the day that I bought it. First, my car squealed every time that I backed up. I took it to my local Ford dealership 3 or 4 times without this ever being fixed. This then progressed to my brakes squealing anytime they’re used. I barely have 25,000 miles on my car. Additionally, I have had numerous occasions where my car will get stuck and not shift, not accelerate which is extremely scary when merging into traffic, the RPM’s will jump between 3,000 and 5,000 and stay there while I cannot accelerate or shift. The vehicle has had episodes of shaking while I am driving, and now there is a grinding sound when driving for unknown reasons. My car has also sounded like there is a hole in the exhaust, although there isn’t. I’m not sure what’s causing the noise. Now I have come to find out that there are two active recalls on my car; one for the PCM control module (NHTSA Recall Number: 25V-467, Ford Recall Number: 24S55), and the SYNC/ display software update (NHTSA Recall Number: 26V-123, Ford Recall Number: 25S06) which is a lesser concern. I called the dealer that I bought my car from and they can’t service my car for the PCM control module via an appointment until 4/24/26 (over a month from now when I don’t feel safe driving my vehicle). They said that I can drop my car off before 4/24 for about a week, but that they can’t provide a loaner. I can’t be without a vehicle. Per Ford there are not parts for a permanent remedy anyway, and this is only a temporary fix as it is, which I don’t have confidence in. That’s ridiculous because the recall came out 7/2025. It’s been almost a year. They also told me that the SYNC software update is only a customer satisfaction, not a recall, so they won’t fix it, which is incorrect. I called Ford customer satisfaction and was also denied a loaner car. The only option that I was given was the possibility of a buyback program, which didn’t sound promising. I’m stuck in a car that I don’t feel safe in.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
The Incident: While traveling at highway speeds on a public freeway, the engine suffered a catastrophic failure and stalled without warning. This caused an immediate loss of propulsion, power steering, and power braking. I was forced to navigate the vehicle across multiple lanes of high-speed traffic with no engine power, nearly resulting in a fatal collision. Background and Safety Risk: This is the second terminal engine failure this vehicle has suffered in under 60,000 miles. The first engine was replaced by a Ford dealer at approximately 30,000 miles due to a similar failure. The replacement engine has now failed at approximately 53,000 miles. This vehicle is also subject to Safety Recall 25S76 (Fuel Injector/Fire Hazard). Current Status: The defect has been confirmed by a Ford dealership which previously performed a full engine replacement. The manufacturer has not provided a permanent remedy for the current failure or the active fire recall. The vehicle remains a substantial and life-threatening safety risk to the driver and the public. No warning lights or symptoms appeared prior to the sudden engine shut-off at freeway speeds.
