CURT MFG IS RECALLING CERTAIN CLASS 3 RECEIVER HITCHES, P/N 13347, SOLD AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR USE ON 1997-2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VANS, 1996-2007 DODGE CARAVANS, AND 1996-2004 PLYMOUTH VOYAGER VANS. WHEN THE HITCH IS LOADED TO THE MAXIMUM RATING, THE HITCH MAY FRACTURE OR BREAK AT THE BEND LOCATION WHERE THE MAIN BODY OF THE HITCH MEETS THE HITCH MUFFLER STRAP.
Consequence: IF THE AREA IN QUESTION FRACTURES OR BREAKS, THIS COULD CAUSE AN UNSTABLE DRIVING CONDITION, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A CRASH.
Remedy: CURT MFG WILL NOTIFY OWNERS OF RECORD AND WILL REPLACE THE HITCH FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING AUGUST 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CURT MFG AT 1-715-831-8713.
Component: STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS
ON CERTAIN MINIVANS EQUIPPED WITH 3.3 OR 3.8L V-6 ENGINE, THE UPPER POWER STEERING COOLER HOSE MAY SPLIT AND CAUSE A FLUID LEAK.
Consequence: POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN RESULT IN AN UNDER HOOD FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE UPPER POWER STEERING COOLER HOSE. THIS RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

CERTAIN AFTERMARKET BRAKE HYDRAULIC MASTER CYLINDERS SOLD AS REPLACEMENT BRAKE CYLINDERS FOR CERTAIN FORD, DAIMLERCHRYSLER, AND JEEP PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE BRAKE CYLINDERS WERE SOLD UNDER THE BRAND NAMES OF NAPA, RAYBESTOS, AIMCO, AC DELCO, CARQUEST, BENDIX, AND WAGNER. ONLY PRODUCTS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 27, 2005 THROUGH JANUARY 17, 2006 (DATE CODES 0529 THROUGH 0602) ARE SUBJECT TO THIS RECALL. WHEN SUBJECT TO VERY COLD TEMPERATURES, AN INTERNAL SEAL IN THE MASTER CYLINDER COULD LOSE FLEXIBILITY AND MAY CAUSE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK.
REVERSE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. TOLD BY 2 MECHANICS THAT CHRYSLER HAD REPAIRED VIA RECALL OR LETTERS IN PAST. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A ROUTINE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED.
SO I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I HEARD A NOISE FROM THE REAR END OF THE VAN MIND YOU THE SPEED LIMIT IS 45MPH HERE. I DRIVE IT TO THE NEAREST SHOP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT , THEY CAME IN AND TOLD ME I'M LUCKY TO HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR AS ( THE REAR CHASSIS HAS BROKE! ) THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED JUST LIKE FORD MOTOR COMPANY DID WITH THEIR VANS !!! I HAVE HEARD ABOUT OTHER VOYAGER VANS HAVING THIS ISSUE IN SALT BELT STATES .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHRYSLER VOYAGER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 50 MPH. THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WOULD STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL CABLE FAILURE THAT RAN THROUGH THE FUEL INJECTION AND NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 217,000.

THE FILTER MAY EXPERIENCE MALFUNCTION OF THE QUICK CONNECTOR EITHER BLOCKING FUEL FLOW TO THE ENGINE OR CAUSING A FUEL LEAK. THE FAILURE CAME SUDDENLY. ONE DAY, WHILE DRIVING, THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THEN WAS EXTINGUISHED A FEW MINUTES AFTER. THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME IT ON REMAINED LIT PERMANENTLY. I IMMEDIATELY REPORTED TO THE GARAGE IN WHICH I BOUGHT THE CAR ON OCCASION. COULD FIND THE FAILURE. HE ASKED ME TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER. THE FAILURE HAS NOT REPAIRED, EVEN THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE HORN ARE INOPERATIVE. I CAN NO LONGER TAKE THE VEHICLE. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALER IN REGION TO TALK HIM ABOUT IT. HE TOLD ME THAT THIS FAILURE, WITHOUT ANY OTHER FAILURE WILL BE CHARGED AROUND 300-350 EUROS BECAUSE MY CAR IS NO LONGER ON SAFETY WARRANTY AND IT IS ALSO NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL OF THE CHRYSLER VOYAGER FOR THOSE SAME FAILURES. THE CHARGE IS VERY EXPENSIVE FOR ME. IT IS THEN I TRY TO FIND HELP ON INTERNET THAT I CAME ACROSS YOUR WEBSITE. THAT IS MY ENTIRE PROBLEM. IN THE BEGINNING, IT BEGAN WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT INTERMITTENT VIEWS. BUT QUICKLY, A FEW KILOMETERS LATER THIS LIGHT REMAINED LIT PERMANENTLY. AT THE TIME, THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKS ONCE ON THREE, AND THEN AFTER NOTHING. THE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS LIT CONTINUOUSLY, THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK, AND WORSE THE HORN IS INOPERATIVE. I CAN NO LONGER TAKE THE VEHICLE. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALER IN MY REGION WHO TOLD ME THAT THIS WILL BE CHARGED AT AROUND 300 EUROS BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL OF THE CHRYSLER VOYAGER FOR THOSE SAME FAILURES. AIRBAG LIGHT INTERMITTENT WILL DRIVING.
RECENTLY I NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS "SPONGY"- I INSPECTED THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND FOUND A STEEL PORTION OF LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE ASSEMBLY RUSTED AND LEAKING. THE LINE FELL APART COMPLETELY DURING REMOVAL. THE LINE ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. I DO HAVE THE OLD LINE ASSEMBLY FOR INSPECTION. THIS VEHICLE HAS BRAKES THAT WEAR OUT MORE FREQUENTLY THAN ANY OTHER VEHICLE I'VE EVER OWNED. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES TWICE AND THE REAR BRAKES AND WHEEL CYLINDERS IN LESS THAN 60,000 MILES. WHEN I TRY TO OBTAIN REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THE FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM I INVARIABLY RECEIVE THE WRONG PARTS- I HAVE TO GET PARTS LISTED FOR A 4 CYL. VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH MINE IS A V-6. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL NAME-BRAND PARTS MANUFACTURERS AND ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLED AT THE FACTORY WITH THE WRONG FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM WHICH IS UNDERRATED AND RESULTS IN PREMATURE WEAR. I HAVE ALSO, ON A PREVIOUS OCCASION, HAD AN ISSUE WITH AN "ABS" LIGHT AND "BRAKE" LIGHT COMING ON- EVEN THOUGH MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. AT THAT TIME THERE WERE NO LEAKS OR OTHER FAULTS TO CAUSE THE WARNING LIGHTS. I WAS FORCED TO PAY THE DEALER TO "RE-FLASH" THE COMPUTER WHICH WAS IMPROPERLY PROGRAMMED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD A TSB FOR THIS CONDITION AND I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A CHARGE TO CORRECT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD SEVERAL BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEMS WHICH SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING ON A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 60,000 MILES! *TR

I HAVE 2003 CHRYSLER VOYAGER MINI-VAN LE THAT BOTH OF THE REAR RED COVERS SEPARATED FROM THEIR REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLE. THE WEATHER TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 90 DEGREES IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. THE RED COVERS UNGLUED FROM THE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLE AND FALL OFF THE VAN DURING DRIVING THE VAN. *TR
