General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence: DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222386380. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2023-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade, and Escalade ESV vehicles. The electronic brake control module software may fail to display a warning light when a loss of brake fluid occurs. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Consequence: Without a warning light, the vehicle may be driven with low brake fluid, which can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.
In 2024 there was a recall for the tailgate locking mechanism - We did not receive that recall - but the part went bad causing the battery to drain - and it had to be repaired. We had to pay for the service $500.00 - We I asked the dealership about this recall they said it did not include my vehicle. But it was indeed that part that went bad. I lease the truck - I had every intention of purchasing after the lease - I am over the miles and was told it was out of warranty. I certainly would not complain about paying for it - but there was a recall last year for said part. Could some please reach out to me regarding this - Thank you
Vehicle has experienced repeated electrical and safety system failures since purchase in 2023. Affected systems include forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, parking sensors, cameras, and infotainment. Failures include complete loss of camera functionality (rear and front), infotainment system shutdowns or resets while driving, loss of audio, and volume malfunctioning (including sudden increases or no response). The vehicle has also generated false safety alerts, including forward collision warnings and blind spot alerts when no hazard was present. These issues have occurred while the vehicle was in operation, creating safety risks due to loss of visibility systems and unreliable warning alerts. In multiple instances, the system would become completely non-functional for extended periods, sometimes lasting days or weeks, before temporarily returning. The problem has been reported to a dealership multiple times and has been inspected and serviced. Repairs have included software updates and component-related work; however, the issues have continued to persist or reoccur. The failures are intermittent but recurring and have not been permanently resolved despite multiple repair attempts. The condition reduces driver confidence and creates unsafe operating conditions due to unreliable safety systems and loss of critical features while driving.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with a 6.2L V8 gas engine. The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.
Consequence: Engine failure increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 18, 2025. The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 65–70 MPH, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the vehicle. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact attempted to pull over to the shoulder of the road, but the vehicle lost automotive power. Additionally, the engine had seized. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not inspected. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. In addition, the contact stated that the gear shifter failed to shift to neutral. The failure had occurred while driving on a busy highway and created an unsafe driving condition. In addition, the contact stated that New York State Troopers assisted with the traffic control. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
At 29k miles, truck was receiving an oil change and general maintenance. Metal flakes were found in the oil and small shaving in the bottom of the drain bucket. Vehicle was sent to a GM dealership to be tested. Engine passed pico test even though metal was present in the oil.

The vehicle continued to lose power with a huge cloud of white smoke coming from under the hood. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled off to the shoulder of the roadway, and the vehicle shut off unexpectedly. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to the dealer and was diagnosed with engine failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
Transmission has jerked/bumped in past and now at approx 85K miles, it supposedly needs a new transmission. I've heard it is a pretty big issue and seems llike relatively low mileage for this to be happening to 2023 year model. I certainly don't drive it hard and rarely tow or haul heavy loads.
One day the trucks transmission started to struggle to find the next gear after taking off from a light. The next morning it did it again and that night did it a third time. The third time it about brought the truck to a stop at 30 mph and made a bang noise, in which a check engine light came on and a message saying speed limited and drive with caution. The truck only has 20,000 miles and already is having transmission issues, which is just unacceptable.
Onstar isnt working the clock wont stay on time the telematics control module went out on a brand new truck just past the 36,000 mile warranty
I am reporting another engine failure on the 6.2L L87. This engine passed the initial recall testing and the oil was changed to 0W40 on September 30, 2025. However, my engine in my 2023 LT Trail Boss started knocking on Friday, March 20, 2026 (at 22,500 miles) after I picked up my children from school. Thankfully it started as I pulled into my driveway with them so they weren’t in any danger. No loss of power on the truck or warning lights visible. However, it was loud enough and odd enough for my [XXX] olds to even notice the sound in the cab. It was dropped off at the dealership on that Saturday morning and the GM dealership was finally able to look at it on Wednesday, March 25th and confirmed what was expected. The advisor stated the engine will need to be replaced due to the engine heading towards bearing/crankshaft failure. I am still currently without my truck as of today (April 4th) with no repair date in sight. I will say that the dealership service advisor has been very good about communicating about its status. However, he stated that he has had no luck finding an new engine and is unable to give a timetable in getting one. He did offer to start a PO for a rental car through enterprise. He stated they are not giving loaners, but could get a rental car. He also stated that it would not be a truck due to GM only giving $50 per day towards a rental. So here I sit currently without my truck. I see multiple reports about the engines being on back order and even the replacement engines are failing within the fist 500 miles. Some reports indicating they are on the third or fourth engine. Something needs to done about getting these trucks bought back by GM. They have clearly failed with this engine and are replacing the failed engines with the same thing! It is a well documented manufacturing flaw and design! I am thankful it occurred near my home. I would not have been happy with a catastrophic failure on a highway with my [XXX] old children in the truck!! Vehicle shut off while driving. Dash codes said low fuel and low voltage. Tank was full and driven twice that same day for a combined 20 miles. No wrongs of failure
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle started to lose motive power. There were several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the message that the vehicle would not exceed 55 MPH while driving. The contact stated that after driving for several miles, the message appeared that the vehicle would not accelerate to 30 MPH while driving. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the DEF tank heater needed to be replaced; GM Part Number: 85856213; however, the part was on a national back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.
At cold start vehicle often required several seconds for the transmission to engage before moving. After traveling at highway speed (45+ MPH) vehicle began to make clunking noise as if the transmission were changing gears but it was not and the RPMs on the tachometer did not change. Instances became worse and more frequent over 6 month period, vehicle never displayed any codes and no notifications or check engine/transmission lights on driver information center. Took vehicle to O’Fallon Buick GMC and was advised torque converter and transmission valve body had failed and needed replaced. I inquired about ongoing issue with this vehicle based on my findings online and was told it was not a recall issue at this time. Truck has 74,000 miles and service records for all maintenance to date.
Tailgate opens on its own after parking truck. No buttons inside or on the key fob are pressed and the tailgate randomly opens. Caused the battery to drain as well.
I'm reporting a 5mpg fuel economy reduction immediately following the 6.2L L87 engine recall (NHTSA #24V795000). I use 93 octane and monitor my fuel mileage consistently. I bragged about my fuel economy in my 6.2l until after the recall was applied. This is going to cause a financial hardship as I'm on fixed income after Servicing 29 years in the Army and 100% disabled. There is no other reason my mpg should have changed as my driving habits have not.
Battery keeps going dead 4 batteries in 4 months think it is caused by power tailgate release
