CERTAIN DELPHI FUEL PRESSURE REGULATORS, P/NOS. FP10020-11B1, FP10026-11B1, AND FP10027-11B1, SOLD AFTER JANUARY 9, 2007, AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. THE UNIVERSAL PRESSURE REGULATORS (UPR) WERE PRODUCED WITHOUT AN O'RING AND RETAINER.
Consequence: FUEL MAY LEAK, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A FIRE.
Remedy: DELPHI WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE UPR FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 23, 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT DELPHI AT 877-411-8770.

THIS IS NOT A SAFETY RECALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SAFETY ACT. HOWEVER, IT IS DEEMED A SAFETY IMPROVEMENT CAMPAIGN BY THE AGENCY. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: 1995-1999 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO Z34 PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE BRAKING PERFORMANCE IN WET WEATHER OR WET ROAD CONDITIONS IS REDUCED MORE THAN A DRIVER WOULD EXPECT.
Consequence: THE BRAKING COULD FEEL DELAYED MOMENTARILY WHEN LIGHT OR MODERATE FORCE IS APPLIED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE DRIVING ON WET ROADS OR AFTER GOING THROUGH A CAR WASH.
Remedy: DEALER WILL MODIFY THE FRONT FENDER LINERS TO REMOVE A PORTION OF THE CLOSEOUT PANELS IN THE FRONT WHEEL WELLS AT NO CHARGE TO THE CONSUMER. THIS SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE THROUGH AUGUST 2004.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FRONT BALL JOINTS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE WERE FAILING. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $250. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 94V230000 (SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT). THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN; THEREFORE, NO COMPENSATION WOULD BE PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

Consequence: THIS CAN CAUSE THE WINDSHIELD WASHER/WIPER TO WORK INTERMITTENTLY AND COULD ULTIMATELY RESULT IN INOPERATIVE WIPERS. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR IN A SEVERE WEATHER SITUATION, DRIVER VISIBILITY COULD BE REDUCED, INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE OLD DESIGNED WASHER/WIPER SWITCHES WITH A NEWLY DESIGNED SWITCH.
Component: SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT
A RIGHT-HAND LOWER CONTROL ARM TAPERED BALL JOINT MOUNTING HOLE WAS INCORRECTLY MACHINED. MOVEMENT WITHIN THIS ATTACHMENT CAN ALLOW THE BALL JOINT STUD TO FATIGUE AND FRACTURE.
Consequence: IF THE BALL JOINT FRACTURED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL TO THE VEHICLE CAN OCCUR.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE RIGHT-HAND LOWER CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT STUD ON ALL INVOLVED VEHICLES.

THE CENTER REAR SEAT BELT ANCHOR PLATE EXHIBITS STRESS CRACKS.
Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE CRASH, THE SEAT BELT SYSTEM CAN FRACTURE AND INJURY TO THE SEAT OCCUPANT CAN OCCUR.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CENTER REAR SEAT BELT SYSTEM.
WRITER OWNER OF 1995 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO TIRES DETREADED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH SUGGEST NHTSA INVESTIGATE AND RECALL TIRES MFRD IN FINLAY OHIO. *TS THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE MECHANIC, AND AFTER SEVERAL TRIES THEY DIAGNOSED THE OTHER THREE TIRES REMAINING AS HAVING BUMPS ON THEM. THE TIRES WERE OVAL SHAPED AND THEREFORE COULD NOT BE BALANCED. *JB
DT: THE CALLER SAID CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT HOLD TO A CERTAIN SPEED. IT KEPT ACCELERATING EVEN WHEN HITTING THE BRAKE. IT DID NOT HOLD AT ANY SPEED. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THIS HAPPENED THE LAST TWO TIMES WHEN SHE USED THE CRUISE CONTROL. SHE WILL NOT USE THE CRUISE CONTROL NOW.*AK
THE CAR WAS SENT TO A LOCAL GARAGE AND THE DEFECT WAS FOUND. THE SERIAL # OF THE CAR IS [XXX]IS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT THE SAME MODEL CAR HAD UNDER RECALL#94V23000 BALL JOINT MOUNT DEFECT. CHEVROLET SAYS THEY WILL NOT FIX THE CAR. THIS WAS FOUND BEFORE ANY ACCIDENTS OR FAILURE HAPPENED. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE FRONT CONTROL ARM AND LOWER BALL JOINTS BROKE. AS A RESULT, THE STEERING AND BRAKES FAILED , AND THE VEHICLE COLLIDED INTO BRICK WALL. UPON IMPACT, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NO INJURIES REPORTED. *AK *SC *JB
WHEN COMING TO STOP, THE CRANK SHAFT PULLEY BOLT SNAPPED. THE CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULL OVER AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION. *JB
1995 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO Z34 WITH 3.4 LITER ENGINE. HAS SIGNIFICANT ISSUE WITH OIL LEAKAGE DUE TO MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THE ENGINE BLOCK CONTAINS A HOLE WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY INTENDED TO UTILIZE A DISTRIBUTOR CAP. THIS MODEL DOES NOT USE A DISTRIBUTOR CAP. THE HOLE WAS PLUGGED BY GM AND IS INACCESSIBLE FOR REPAIR WITHOUT REMOVING BOTH TIMING CHAINS, THE ENTIRE TOP OF THE ENGINE AND CYCLINDERS. I HAVE CONTACTED GM TO REQUEST ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIRS WHICH HAVE BEEN ESTIMATED AT $1500- 2000. THEIR ONLY RESPONSE IS TO OFFER A CERTIFICATE WHICH COULD BE USED TOWARD THE PURCHASE OF A NEW GM PRODUCT. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH SEVERAL REPAIR OUTLETS AND WAS INFORMED THIS IS A RELATIVELY COMMON PROBLEM BUT THE ENGINE IN MY VEHICLE MAKES IT MUCH MORE DIFFICULT AND COSTLY TO REPAIR. FUSES BLEW OUT OF BRAKE LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS. *MR THE INTAKE MANIFOLD HAD BEEN REPLACED FOR A SECOND TIME AFTER ONLY ABOUT 40K MILES AFTER THE FIRST REPLACEMENT. WHEN THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO USE THE HAZARD LIGHT, HE DISCOVERED THAT THE BULBS HAD BLOWN OUT OF THE BRAKE AND SIGNAL LIGHTS. *SCC THE CONSUMER LEARNED THAT THE MANUFACTURER RECALLED OVER 780,000 VEHICLE REGARDING THE HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH. *JB

TRANSMISSION FAILLED AT 119461 REVERSE REACTION DRUM OUT LIKE ALOT OF THESE MODELS THIS YEAR COST1945 TO REPAIR. THEN, AT 127892 THE PARK NEUTRAL SWITCH OUT/ ANTI LOCK LIGHT STAYS ON ,TURN SIGNAL SWITCH DOESN'T WORK , AIR CONDITIONER DOESN'T WORK, FRONT ROTORS ON CAR HAVE TO BE SPECIAL ORDERED BECAUSE HUBS MACHINED SHORT, AND CHEVROLET HAS NO RECALLS ON ANY OF IT. LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION, AND SOME OF THE OTHERS TO GUESS WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GENRAL MOTORS VEHICLE, AND RECOMEND THAT THEY WOULDN'T NEITHER.*AK
MY 1995 MONTE CARLO WITH THE 3100 V6 HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. WE HAVE REPLACED THE EGR VALVE TWICE IN A YEAR, THE WATER PUMP, THE THERMOSTAT, THE RADIATOR, THE RADIATOR CAP, AND IT STILL OVER HEATS TO THE POINT THAT THE CAR SHUTS DOWN AND THE HOT LIGHT COMES ON IN THE CAR. I AM AT MY WITS END AND I HAVE PAID SO MUCH MONEY TO GET THIS FIGURED OUT AND NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHY. I HAVE HAD IT TESTED FOR A HEAD GASKET LEAK AND IT SHOWS NOTHING. THERE IS AIR GETTING INTO THE SYSTEM FROM SOMEWHERE BECAUSE IT CAN BE BLED OFF. I REALLY LIKE THE WAY THIS CAR DRIVES AND I DO NOT WANT TO GET RID OF IT. I JUST WANT IT TO BE FIXED AND I HAVE HAD 7 DIFFERENT MECHANICS TO WORK ON IT AND THEY ARE STUMPED! *JB
