Truck goes into limp mode, reduced power, stuck in second gear, stabilitrak and engine lights. Took it to the Cadillac dealership and after 3100 dollars in repairs the truck is still doing it. If the high level techs can’t figure it out after 2000 in labor it’s should be a recall item.

The contact owns a 2008 Cadillac Escalade EXT. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. The infotainment display displayed a message indicating that the air bags were off, potentially compromising vehicle safety. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to provide a cause for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but was unable to assist. The failure mileage was 123,000.

Tire size 285/45r22 got into freeway this morning and the outer sidewall just separated on the lr tire no warning, tires looked good 7/32 tread left even wear and tire pressure was correct. The other tires look good on the outside but so did the one that came apart the car has tpms and the tires were never run low or had any repairs. The outside tread block at the sidewall peeled off the tire

Well driving, fuel indications went out and car started to do rough idling with poorer fuel economy. Upon inspection, wiring harness by driveshaft on the driver side got caught in the driveshaft and destroyed wiring.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Cadillac Escalade EXT. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number 21V052000 (Air Bags) however, upon contacting the dealer, he was informed that the repair might cause the dashboard to crack. The contact was then informed that he would have to sign a waiver to ensure that the dealer would not be held responsible for any damages to the vehicle. The manufacturer was then notified of the issue and confirmed that the dealer would not be held responsible for any cracks or damages to the dashboard. The contact declined to sign the waiver and the vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer should cover the cost of the dashboard because of the recall. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Vehicle was seen by the police at the crash site. The component has not been inspected. There were no warning signs or messages or symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. Became aware of the air bag deployment failure after the side impact crash.

The contact owns a 2008 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that since purchasing the vehicle, the "Service Traction Control" and "Service Stabili-trak" message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact was informed by the auction that the failure was due to the low air pressure on the driver’s side rear tire. The contact stated while exiting a parking lot, the steering wheel locked-up. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and stated that no issues were found. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated once. The vehicle was taken to another mechanic who diagnosed that the oil sensor and oil pressure switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 165,286.

I STARTED MY VEHICLE ONE AFTERNOON TO A TAPPING SOUND DINING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I CHECKED MY OIL, WHICH WAS GOOD THEN SCHEDULE TO HAVE MY TRUCK LOOKED AT BY A MECHANIC. HE STARTED THAT THE LIFTERS AND BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE OIL AND OTHER FLUIDS CHANGED REGULARLY SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE EXPENSIVE REPAIR. THE MECHANIC RECOMMEND A TREATMENT THAT WOULD GIVE ME TIME TO SAVE FOR THE REPAIR OF THE REPLACEMENT OF MY ENGINE. I NOW HEAR THAT ENGINE FAILURE IS COMMON IN THIS VEHICLE. WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THESE MASSIVE BILL OF A PART THAT WAS PROPERLY TAKEN CARE OF. MY VEHICLE IS STILL TAPPING AND IS NOW STARTING A SLIGHT JERK WHILE DRIVING AND A DELAY WHEN STARTING UP.

THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, IT WAS TREMBLING FOR A MONTH PRIOR TO THE LIGHT. THEN PEPBOYS COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. RESET ELECTRICAL PANEL. A WEEK LATER BRAKE STABILIZER LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO OCEAN CADILLAC IN MIAMI. THE ENGINE WAS SMOKING, KNOCKING AND ABOUT TO GO ON FIRE. IT LOST PRESSURE AND I CALLED INSURANCE FLATBED.. AFTER FUEL PUMP REPLACED AND $1200 LATER.. PICKED UP AND DROVE OFF. 15 MINUTES LATER ENGINE VIBRATING & SMOKING AS SERVICE DEPT CLOSED. THEY GAVE ME A LOANER CAR, AND SAID FUEL PUMP BLOWN OUT FROM ENGINE MALFUCTION.. OTHER OWNERS, SAME MODEL, TOLD ,ME A COMMON PROBLEM THAT GM REPAIRS FOR FREE SINCE ON RECALL. THE DELEARSHIP NOW SAYS 4,000 BILL TO FIX THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY GM WHO DOES NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. TWO MONTHS GOING BACK AND FORTH THE DELEARSHIP AND NO MORE MONEY TO GIVE 4,000 TO THE ENGINE WHICH IS ON RECALL & RESPONSIBILITY OF GM MOTORS.

SO I AM FILING A COMPLAINT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE THEY WANT TO HELP ME. THEY GAVE ME THE RUN-AROUND THEY CUT ME OFF FOUR TIMES. I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE FOR OVER AN HOUR WITH NO SUCCESS.

AFTER LETTING THE TRUCK SIT FOR 2 DAYS IT RAN FINE TOT HE MECHANIC WHO COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. IN THE MEANTIME MY CAR HAS A RECALL WHICH HAS REFLECTED IN SUCH A LOW TRADE IN VALUE THAT I CAN'T EVEN SELL MY CAR. NOW THE LIGHT IS ON THAT SAYS TO "SERVICE AIR BAGS" AND CADILLAC WANTS TO CHARGE ME OVER $1300 TO "SERVICE" THE AIR BAGS THEY WON'T REPLACE. GM HAS MANUFACTURED DEFECTS/DESIGN FAILURES INTO NUMEROUS PARTS IN MY 2008 CADILLAC ESCALADE EXT. THE DOOR HANDLES ALL BROKE OFF APPARENTLY BECAUSE THEY USED WEAK PLASTIC PARTS. THE ENGINE IS STALLING AND WON'T START (POSSIBLY DUE TO CAM SHAFT SENSOR AND DEFFECTIVE CAM SHAFT OR FUEL CONTROL MODULE THEY DID A RECALL ON AND NEVER FIXED ON MY CAR)...APPARENTLY THE OIL SENSOR GOES 1ST AND THEN THE CAM SHAFT AND OIL PRESSURE ISSUES COME NEXT...BUT THIS IS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE CAM SHAFT IN THE 1ST PLACE...VERY DANGEROUS AND BOUND TO LEAVE YOU STRANDED OR CAUSE AN ACCIDENT! AS FOR STEERING, THE POWER RACK & PINION IS DESIGNED TO START LEAKING REQUIRING A NEW $450+ PART PLUS LABOR TO PUT IN AS THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP THE POWER STEERING LEAKAGE...FINALLY, THE HEAD LIGHTS GO OUT AND GM COULD NOT HAVE MADE IT ANY HARDER TO REPLACE THEM NOR MORE EXPENSIVE- REQUIRING FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL AND USUALLY A RESULT OF THEIR DEFECTIVE WATERPROOFING OF THE LIGHT AND BALLAST! THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL HERSELF AND THE SAFETY SEAT AWAY FROM THE ROLLING VEHICLE BEFORE IT CRASHED INTO A TREE IN FRONT OF THE NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES ON HER LEFT LEG AND LEFT ARM. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE THE DOCTOR IN THREE DAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND DRIVEN BACK TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. HEATED SEAT CONTROL MODULE CONNECTION OVERHEATED AND COMPLETELY MELTED ON DRIVERS SIDE AND THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THIS HAD TAKEN PLACE NOR HAVE I EVER RECEIVED ANY TYPE OF WARNING FROM GM THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO A GREAT NUMBER OF OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVING THIS SAME POOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT MOST ENDED UP STARTING A FIRE. I WAS HAVING MY OIL CHANGED AT THE GM DEALERSHIP, AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK AS TO WHY MY HEATED SEATS WERE NO LONGER WORKING. THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS PARTIALLY MELTED, SO IT COULD HAVE STARTED A FIRE AS WELL. THE REPAIR COST FOR THIS PROBLEM WAS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND I WASN'T ABOUT TO PAY JUST FOR THE SAME THING TO HAPPEN AGAIN OR CONSTANTLY WORRY IF REPAIRED, WAS IT GONNA CAUSE A FIRE NEXT TIME. THEY BOUGHT THE CAR AT AN AUCTION ON MAY 27TH 2019 WITH 230,000 MILES ON IT AND THEN MIRACULOUSLY ON MAY 30TH 2019 THE CAR PASS EMISSIONS WITH ONLY 98000 MILES ON IT. THEY ARE TAMPERING WITH THE ODOMETERS AND SELLING CARS BY SNEAKING IN AN ODOMETER DISCREPANCY FORM WHILE YOU ARE SIGNING THE PAPERWORK WITHOUT MENTIONING IT OR DISCLOSING ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THE MILEAGE BEING WRONG. THEY TOLD ME I COULD CALL THE PRESIDENT THE UNITED STATES FOR ALL THEY CARE BECAUSE THEY MAKE MORE MONEY SUING PEOPLE THAN THEY DO SELLING CARS. ON JANUARY 8, 2019, TWO, LONG, WIDE CRACKS APPEARED IN THE PASSENGER DASHBOARD FROM THE WINDSHIELD VENT TOWARD THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT. THEY WERE ABOUT 6' LONG. BENEATH THE CRACKS ONE COULD SEE A LIGHT TAN, SOFT LOOKING ITEM. THE NEXT DAY A SIMILAR CRACK APPEARED ON THE DRIVER DASH. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE LIKE IT HAS BEEN EVERY DAY AND NIGHT. IT HAS ABOUT 72,000 MILES; WE ARE THE 2ND OWNER AND PURCHASED IT IN 2009 WITH ABOUT 7,000 MILES. BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS LISTED AS PART OF THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL, WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE CRACKS AND WHAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THEM. COULD IT BE A PARTIAL INFLATION? IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR BUT GM REFUSES TO FIX IT UNLESS THE OWNER PAYS FOR IT, (NEARLY $1,000). I HAVE REPAIRED THIS MYSELF ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS BUT IT IS A DESIGN FLAW AND THE PROBLEM KEEPS RE-OCCURRING.

ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE CAR HAS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE BEING DRIVEN. TWICE WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE CAR LOST ALL POWER, INCLUDING POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, AS I WAS TRYING TO SAFELY GET OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, ALL THE DASH LIGHTS COME BACK ON, THE RADIO COMES ON AT TOP VOLUME, THE POWER COMES BACK ON. I HAVE HAD IT INTO AN AUTHORIZED CADILLAC DEALERSHIP. THEY HAD IT FOR OVER A WEEK AND COULD NEVER REPLICATE IT OR FIND THE ISSUE. THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED ON A SIDE STREET, NOT AS BAD AS THE HIGHWAY, BUT STILL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THIS IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE BECAUSE I HAVE READ OTHER REPORTS OF THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENING. MY 2008 CADILLAC ESCALADE EXT HIT ON DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL WELL AND DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, I HAVE TWO CURTAIN AIRBAGS ON THIS SIDE AND THEY DID NOT DEPLOY. BOTH OF MY FRONT WHEELS WERE DETACHED DUE TO THE IMPACT OF A MID-SIZE MINI VAN AT A RATE OF OVER 40 MILES PER HR. JUST A CAUSE FOR CONCERN SINCE THE SENSOR WAS LOCATED IN THE AREA OF THE IMPACT. WAS INFORMED BY A LOCAL DEALERSHIP THAT A SIMILAR MAKE & MODEL HAD BOTH CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOY DUE TO OWNER SIMPLY RUNNING A 6INCH CURB. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SECOND ROW SEATS DID NOT LOCK IN THE UP POSITION AND WHEN SHE DROVE, THE SEATS WOULD FALL BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEATS WERE DESIGNED THAT WAY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,000. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 TO 70 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS; THERE WAS AN UNINTENDED FORCEFUL ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SLOW DOWN AND THE DRIVER MANUALLY SHIFTED GEARS INTO THE "NEUTRAL" POSITION. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL; SUDDENLY, THE VEHICLE RESUMED TO NORMAL OPERATION. THERE WERE THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS THAT THE IDENTICAL FAILURES OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE VEHICLE IS NOT BEING DRIVEN AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,000.

SERVICE ENGINE TROUBLE CODE CAUSES ENGINE POWER REDUCED TO 10%. WHEN THE GM COMPUTER GETS A C1214 TROUBLE CODE, THE FACTORY PROGRAM REDUCES ENGINE POWER TO 10%. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT LET YOU GO MORE THAN 30 MILES PER HOUR. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY DEFECT, WHO CARES IF THE STABILITY/TRACTION CONTROL IS INOPERATIVE, THERE IS NO REASON TO IMPERIL THE OCCUPANTS WITH A VEHICLE THAT WILL NOT GET OUT OF ITS OWN WAY. I OWN AND HAVE OWNED MANY VEHICLES WITHOUT STABILITY/TRACTION CONTROL AND AFTER 1,000,000 MILES I HAVE YET TO END UP SIDE DOWN! YOU NEED FORCE GM TO CORRECT THIS LINE OF COMPUTER CODE TO ALLOW REASONABLE PERFORMANCE. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. A WEEK PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE RADIO BEGAN TO TURN ON AND OFF. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 9,500.

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, LIGHT RAIN, ABOUT 50 DEGREES, THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF, NAVIGATION/RADIO OFF, LIGHTS OFF. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING, LOST AND REGAINED CONTROL OF VEHICLE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE AT 5 MPH, THE CONTACT STRUCK A POLE. THE PARKING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM (LIGHTS AND CHIMES) WAS DEFECTIVE AND DID NOT WORK. HE NOTICED THE POLE IN THE REAR BACK-UP CAMERA, BUT DID NOT KNOW THAT THE PARKING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM DID NOT WORK AT THE TIME. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE REAR BUMPER. GENERAL MOTORS REPAIRED THE SYSTEM AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE DAMAGE WAS HIS RESPONSIBILITY. HE IS CURRENTLY WAITING FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEFECT HAS SINCE BEEN REPAIRED BUT FEELS THE MANUFACTURER IS AT FAULT DUE TO THE FAULTY UTILITY ENHANCEMENT SYSTEM AND WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE COST OF THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE ACCIDENT WAS THE CONSUMER'S FAULT.
