The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic test; however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the air bag deployment. The contact then discovered that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags). The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

My car shut down completely as I was driving it home last month [XXX] the cluster panel was showing charging system failure, stabilization and traction control coming on and off when not in use, the battery I bought was purchased in 2022 was completely drained and not rechargeable and even lights were staying on inside vehicle without out the battery connected, the driver door handle fell off not broken came loose and the tires had a locked lug nuts that never came with the vehicle when i purchased it, i had to buy a $103 unlocking key to remove the tire in order to get the brakes fixed and the spare tire was rusted and there wasn't a key to release it so i had it cut off Because i was stranded on the road with no help, the shift gear came undone as i had to put a paper clip in it as I didn't have a warranty to cover this expense, the starter and battery and alternator, serpinewas paid out of pocket as I was sold a 2007 Cadillac Escalade with 238,0000 miles with prior accident and the Carfax shows 50 different problems errors and the emergency break will shift out or on when not activated, the car has been without any power but yet the interior door lights and the radio would come on without any power, the car was in a prior accident before I became the owner, the gas costs me 140 weekly, I only used regular gas I only get 9miles to the gallon driving to nearest City but it costs me 40dollars total for round trip when I only drive 8 miles to culver Indiana from my home, the car doesn't have air as it was removed before I purchased it, it's hot without air as heat comes from the engine and hits my legs my feet and my face with the heat turned off, the engine light is currently on the car was sold to me as is but its not worth $$ 11, 800.00 with a 498.00 car note, and I have been in between jobs because of the car constantly breaking down and causing me to lose my job and I scheduled a air bag replacement recall with the dealer in Rochester, shepreds Chevrolet INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact stated that after plugging the electric air pump into the cigarette lighter socket, smoke was suddenly present coming from the lighter socket and the engine compartment. After opening the engine hood a small flame, smoke, and burning was present coming from the dashboard wire harness. The contact was able to extinguish the flame. The fire department was called to the home but did not visit after the flame was extinguished. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 180,000.

https://www.cadillacforums.com/threads/2007-escalade-stalling-when-rolling-to-a-stop.278037/ It is a well known issue (for those that pull trailers) that 2007-2008 Escalades will stall when slowing down on the highway if the vehicle is pulling a trailer. Everytime I drive on the highway and come to a roll the engine stalls. I have been stuck on the middle lane of the highway, in the middle of intersections, and many other places that are less than ideal. It is a crankshaft position sensor from what I can tell. When the car is under a load, the sensor is positioned at an extreme angle and when the rpms get low the rpms fluctuates and it stalls. The extreme angle is an optimization that cadillac made in an effort to get better fuel economy. It appears that the only way to fix the issue is to get a tune that prevents the sensor from reaching that extreme angle. The dealer pretends to know nothing, yet I find many other people who experience the issue so it would be in their database as a known issue. There are no warnings lights that comes on. The car will just shut down. The only way to prevent the car stalling is to drop to neutral and rev the engine while coming to a stop. Keep reving and when the light goes green drop it to Drive. Its unacceptable and a risk not only to myself but others on the road. I will file a defect petition with a lawyer so this is paid attention to . Please help.

My family and I were leaving home to on vacation last year, when the vehicle suddenly cut off in traffic and refused to start. After getting the vehicle to my home which was 50 miles away. I just told the driver to park it on the street until I got back home, which was seven days later. After arriving back home, vehicle was towed to shop, at which time, NO One could find anything wrong with my 2007 Escalade. So, after driving it for several minutes, the vehicle cut-off again and would not start, soc I phoned my wife, who came with my Expediton and towed me home. After several attempts to start the vehicle, I was informed by a passersby that he had the same problem, that his fuel pump had went out. Well, guess what, it was the fuel pump. So, why is it that certified mechanics at a Cadillac Dearlership couldn't diagnose this problem. It's unfuckinbeliveable that any Dearlership, Pepboys or any other Auto Repair Shop wouldn't explore all options before saying " We can't find nothing wrong" totally inexcusable..

First it started out with the Low Oil Pressure stop engine light had it check out by an independent service center. I was told what the problem maybe, purchase several parts for the SUV but that didn't solve the problem within 72hrs the low oil pressure light stop engine was back on and then this vehicle started cutting off and don't want to crank back again until several hours later. Had a second opinion from a different service center but that didn't work continue to do the same. - By this SUV cutting off in traffic and not cranking back -Was told my mechanic from a service center that it could be the lifter in side the engine. -No -Low oil pressure stop engine warning messages, Check engine light. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that both airbags needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. Loss of all electical power to vehicle as though battery failure. Dashboard goes out at times and I am unable to see how fast I am going or if the car is even in drive. Service Stabilitrack light comes on, but goes away. While driving my car door locks. They would lock, unlock. DVD/Nav and Radio shuts off.Air bag light comes on. Driver seat was not working , took it to a mechanic and it read bad motor for seat. About a week ago, the seat started to work again, which worried me. Our mechanic was also worried because he believes it’s an electrical problems which may be very dangerous on the road. The smell of a plastic like fume lingers sometimes.

The airbag system failed and was reported the first time in 2020 and it was available for inspection upon request by owner but Cadillac said it wasn't a recall and refused to comply. My safety and the other passenger was put at risk because Cadillac didn't inspect the the fail system upon the owner's upon the owner's first request that caused serious injuries and the vehicle has been in another incident. The airbag system has not been fixed, body, and light damages to be reproducted or confirmes by a dealer or independent service center for my case 9-7027849113. The vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representative, or others. There wasn't any warning lamps, or other symptoms prior to the failure and they first appeared in the last incident on April 23, 2021.

MY FAMILY RECENTLY PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES MICHELIN ENERGY SAVER A/S 265/65/18. THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER. WITH THE TIRES BEING UNDER 6 MONTHS OLD WE HAVE ALREADY EXPERIENCED THE FOLLOWING ISSUES. 4 SEPARATE FLAT TIRES. WHICH I GAVE MICHELIN THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT THAT ITS NOT COMPLETELY THERE FAULT FOR NAILS / SCREWS BEING IN ROADWAYS. BUT COMMON 4 FLATS IN A MATTER OF A FEW MONTHS WITH ONLY 4K MILES BEING PUT ON THE VEHICLE SINCE TIRES INSTALLED. FINALLY WHAT COMPLETELY GOT ME WAS THE SIDE WALL DEVELOPED A 3 INCH SPLIT. IM JUST GLAD I NOTICED IT BEFORE MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE DRIVING THE VEHICLE DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND HAD A BLOWOUT ON THE STEER TIRES. AFTER LOOKING AT REVIEWS ONLINE IM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT HAVING ISSUE WITH THESE TIRES. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT SIDEWALL BLOWOUTS AND THESE TIRES BEING MAGNETS FOR SCREWS AND NAILS. ALSO MANY REVIEWS ABOUT PREMATURE DRY ROT. (I CANT WAIT FOR THEM TO DEVELOP THIS ISSUE AS ITS MORE THAN LIKELY COMING). TERRIBLE TIRES. DONT RECOMMEND THESE FOR ANYONE. MCCADDON DEALERSHIP INSTALLED COMPLETE TRANSMISSION COST OVER $8,000---- ISSUE CAME BACK. THEN THEY REPLACED FUEL PUMP. THEN THEY REPLACED OIL PUMP WHICH SEEMED TO FIX ISSUE, COST $2084.04. NOW AT 225,000 MILES OIL PRESSURE LOW, STOP ENGINE LIGHT, AND WARNING GONG. NO OIL LEAKS, OIL LEVELS ALWAYS WATCHED AND MAINTAINED WITH REGULAR CHANGES. TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP THINKING THEY WOULD REPLACE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. INSTEAD THEY CHARGED 130.00 TO DIAGNOSE THAT ENGINE WAS LOSING PRESSURE. THEIR SOLUTION, REPLACE ENGINE AT COST OF $10,000. NOW ONLINE SEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS ACTUALLY CAUSED BY BAD CAMSHAFTS AND BEARINGS. NOT SURE WHAT I WILL DO, BUT DOUBT I WILL PAY DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE ENGINE AT COST OF $10,K. I HAVE CONTACTED CADILLAC CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING MY STEERING WHEEL SMOKING AND BURNING A HOLE IN THE LEATHER WHEN I USE THE HEATED STEERING WHEEL FEATURE. THEY ARE CLAIMING THAT IT IS THE RESULT OF NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR WHICH I FIND ABSURD. THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE STATED TO ME THAT IN THE 10 YEARS HE'S BEEN WORKING ON GM CARS, HE HAS NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN. ALSO, THE DEALER CHARGED ME TO REPLACE ALL FOUR INTERNAL DOOR HANDLES AFTER THE METAL DEGRADED AND STARTED CUTTING OUR HANDS. APPARENTLY, OTHER ESCALADES WERE COVERED UNDER A RECALL BUT NOT MY VIN. I THINK BOTH SHOULD BE COVERED BY GM GIVEN THE SERIOUS NATURE OF BOTH DEFECTS.

AFTER GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH GM/CADILLAC AND MY LOCAL DEALER FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS, I BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT HANDLE AND DID THE REPAIR MYSELF. A LADY IN A HOME NEARBY RAN OUT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO ASSIST. FIRE AND POLICE CAME, REPORT WAS FILED. MY LUNGS BURNED FOR WEEKS AFTER AND I HAD A CHRONIC COUGH. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER FOUND IT TO BE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT BUT GM REFUSED TO WORK WITH US ON COSTS. WE HAD TO PAY FULL PRICE OUT OF POCKET FOR REPAIRS. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH BBB, GM, AND MANY OTHERS BUT GOT NO ASSISTANCE. I ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THIS SUV AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 100,000 MILES WHICH THE SHOP SAID IT WAS UNUSUAL BUT FOR A TRANSMISSION TO FAIL AT THIS LOW OF MILES BUT IN THESE TRANSMISSIONS IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IF FAILING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN DOING 65 AND LOCKED UP. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN ISSUES WITH THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR WHICH MANY PEOPLE HAVE ALSO REPORTED, DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD WHICH GM REFUSED TO REPLACE. THE FILM OVER THE WINDSHIELD WAS DEFECTIVE WHICH CAUSED BLURRY VISION IN THE DRIVERS LINE OF VIEW. I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD. GM HAS NOT BACKED ANY OF THE ISSUES WITH THIS SUV. I HAD JUST PICKED UP MY KIDS FROM SWIM PRACTICE AND WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED FROM THE WHEELS AND HAD NO ABILITY TO STEER THE CAR... IT JUST FREELY SPUN AROUND AND AROUND. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BEFORE HITTING A TREE AND MY KIDS AND I WERE NOT INJURED, JUST VERY SHAKEN. APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS (03/18/11) PRIOR TO REPAIRS THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE HAD A "SHAKING NOISE" THE SLOWER YOU DROVE THE MORE NOISE IT MADE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO QUOTED $1,000 FOR REPAIRS. AT THE TIME WE DROPPED IT OFF THE SERVICE MANAGER MADE US AWARE THAT THERE WAS A "BULLETIN FROM GENERAL MOTORS " ABOUT THE PROBLEM THAT IT WAS "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND THEY WOULD NOT ISSUE A RECALL." IT WAS FOUND BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE FRONT JOUNCE BUMPERS AND FRONT STRUTS AND MOUNTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I CONTACTED GM SERVICE LINE WHILE IT WAS STILL IN THE SHOP AND HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS IN ORDER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE. I HAD NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO GM AND THEY STATED "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" AND YOUR 50,000 BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER IT SINCE IT HAD 62,926 MILES ON IT. I REQUESTED A DISTRICT SUPERVISOR REVIEW AND THE OUTCOME WAS THE SAME. WE HAVE HAD CADILLACS FOR 25+ YEARS AND SOME WITH 200,000+ MILES ON THEM AND NEVER HAD THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM AND TREATMENT FROM ANYONE. A LATER INSPECTION FOUND THAT THE "J1" WIRING CONNECTOR, WHICH CONNECTS TO THE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL MODULE, WHICH IS INADEQUATE FOR THE CURRENT LOAD, HAD OVERHEATED RESULTING IN THE WHITE PLASTIC CONNECTOR BECOMING BLACKENED AND BRITTLE,. THIS RESULTED IN THE A LOSS OF POWER TO THE SEAT HEATER. AS THE VEHICLE IS SOME 6 MONTHS AND SOME 10,000 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY, THE CADILLAC DEALER RECOMMENDED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE J1 CONNECTOR, REPAIR THE WIRING, AND REPLACEMENT OF THE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL MODULE AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $550.00 AFTER CONTACTING CADILLAC CUSTOMER SERVICE, A CADILLAC DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE CONTACTED ME AND WORKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP HAS OFFERED TO PERFORM THE RECOMMENDED REPAIR FOR A $200.00 DEDUCTIBLE. I JUST LIKE INFORM TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN I AM OWNER OF CADILAC ESCALADE ESV THAT I BOUGHT BRAND NEW BACK IN DECEMBER OF 2006 , I WOULD LIKE TO EXPLAIN THAT THIS WAS BY FAR MY WORST EXPERIENCE WITH ANY CAR THAT I HAVE EVER BOUGHT IN MY LIFE IN ONE YEAR TIME THE CAR SAT AT THE DEALER MORE THAN 3 MONTHS FOR MANY ISSUES AND DEFECTS AND WHEN I MEAN MANY I MEAN OVER 80 ISSUES WITH THE CAR AND MOST IMPORTANT THESE CARS HAVE MAJOR DEFECT ON THEIR BAKES I HAD ALMOST A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHEN THE TWO FRONT CALIPERS BRAKES FAILED AND THE WAS ONLY 6 MONTHS IN MY HAND SINCE THEN IT HAS HAD OTHER BRAKE FAILURES AND MANY OTHER DEFECTS INCLUDING WIRE HARNESS TO CATCH ON FIRE THIS CAR IS TICKING TIME BOMB WAITING FOR SOMETHING ELSE TO GO WRONG I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH GM THE MANUFACTURER OF CADILLAC UNTIL TODAY FROM DAY ONE IT HAS HAD DEAD BATTERY IF YOU LET IT SIT FOR MORE THEN 3 DAYS FROM DAY ONE INCLUDING ENGINE LIGHT ALSO FROM DAY ONE THAT THEY NEVER WERE ABLE TO FIX I AM SORRY TO SAY THIS BUT THESE CARS OR VERY UNSAFE SO BODY SHOULD TALK TO THE MANUFACTURER TO FIX THESE SERIOUS ISSUES SOME BODY CAN GET HURT FROM THESE PROBLEMS THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AND THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS PLACED INTO REVERSE. THE REVERSE MODE, TILT DOWN EXTERIOR MIRRORS FAILED TO OPERATE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY. THE FAILURES OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO PROGRAM AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE REVERSE MIRROR FAILURE. THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE OTHER FAILURES. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION IS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 26 TIMES IN 10 MONTHS FOR MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND HAS HAD NUMEROUS REPLACEMENT PARTS INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING, NAVIGATION FAILURE WHILE DRIVING, MOTORIZED GAS AND BRAKE PEDAL MOVEMENT WHILE DRIVING, FUEL TANK ELECTRICAL ISSUES, ALL OF WHICH HAS CREATED UNSAFE SITUATIONS FOR MY WIFE AND CHILDREN RIDING IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS UNDEPENDABLE DUE TO NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. I HAVE TRIED TO WORK WITH CADILLAC FOR A REPLACEMENT WITH NO SUCCESSES. IF WE CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AS DIRECTED BY CADILLAC, IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE AN INJURY OR DEATH OCCURS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHEN IT RAINED, WATER WOULD LEAK AROUND THE SUNROOF. THE WATER LEAKED INTO THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE DRAIN HOSE WAS NOT ORIGINALLY INSTALLED; THEREFORE, THEY INSTALLED THE DRAIN HOSE AND REPLACED THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INTO SECOND GEAR AND BEGAN TO SPIN. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AFTER IT FINISHED SPINNING, THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THE CONTACT COULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 30 MPH WHILE DRIVING HOME. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RANGE SWITCH IN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN. THE DEALER REPLACED THE RANGE SWITCH. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN FOR 3-4 SECONDS. THIS SHOULD NOT BE A PART TIME FEATURE. IN ORDER TO USE THE "FLASH TO PASS" DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS, THE HEADLAMPS MUST BE TAKEN OUT OF THE AUTOMATIC MODE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT FELL ASLEEP WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A DITCH, WENT AIRBORNE, AND ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ALL FOUR WHEELS AND TIRES CAME OFF THE VEHICLE AND EACH WINDOW WAS BROKEN AND SMASHED. NONE OF THE EIGHT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BROKEN COLLAR BONE, SHOULDER BONE, ROTARY CUP, AND A BROKEN HAND IN TWO PLACES. THE INSURANCE COMPANY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. CADILLAC HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND WILL INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 28,000.

SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED IN CONTACTS CAR. ON STAR HAD NOT BEEN WORKING. CONTACT TOLD BY DEALER THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO REPAIR ANYTHING ON THE CAR UNTIL THE INVESTIGATION WAS COMPLETED. TOOK CAR IN AND SPOKE WITH ADVISOR AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD WORK ON IT AND LET HIM KNOW WHEN THE CAR WOULD BE READY. LATER RECEIVED A CALL STATING THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO FIX THE CAR BECAUSE THE ON BOARD COMPUTER SAID THAT THERE WAS SIDE IMPACT. CONTACT TOLD THE ADVISOR THAT THE CAR HAD NO DAMAGE ON THE CAR OR UNDERNEATH THE CAR. ADVISOR SAID THAT THERE WAS A SCRATCH AND A DENT ON THE TIRE AND THE RIMS. A CONTACT SAID THAT A FRIEND HAD DROVE THROUGH A CAR WASH AND MESSED SCRATCHED AND DENTED THE 24 IN NON-ORIGINAL TIRES ON HIS CAR. THE CONTACT HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR OVER A MONTH NOW BECAUSE DEALER WILL NOT FIX THE CAR. INSURANCE WILL NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIR BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT AND THEY SAID THAT IT IS A WARRANTY ISSUE.
