THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH GOODSON ACURA OF DALLAS (4801 LEMMON AVE, DALLAS, TX 75219) FOR SEPTEMBER 11, 2019. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
I BOUGHT A USED CAR FROM CHICAGO SUBURB INDIVIDUAL OWNER ABOUT 15 DAYS AGO. CLEAN TITLE WITH NO ACCIDENT HISTORY. THE GAS TANK DURING LAST 15 DAYS WAS NEVER LITTLE ABOVE HALF TANK. TODAY I FILLED GAS FULL TANK AND DROVE ABOUT 8 MILES AND PARKED IN HOME GARAGE. LIQUID FUEL LEAK FROM REAR SIDE OF THE TANK WAS OBSERVED FORMING A PUDDLE IN GARAGE GIVING STRONG GAS SMELL IN FEW MINUTES. WHEN I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR, I COULD CONTINUOUS DROP BY DROP LIQUID FUEL LEAK. I CONFIRM THAT I DID NOT OBSERVE ANY LEAK IN LAST TWO WEEKS WHEN GAS TANK WAS LESS THAN 3/4 OR LESS FULL.IN LAST 15 DAYS I CONSIDER LUCKY THAT THE LEAK DID NOT TAKE PLACE OVER EXHAUST GAS PIPE WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I HAVE TOWED MY CAR TO A REPAIR CENTER AND WILL ADVISE HIM TO SAVE EVIDENCE.

THE TRANSMISSION ON OUR TL WAS REPLACED 4 TIMES FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE ALL OF THE TRANSMISSIONS ON THESE MAKE/MODELS ARE BAD AND WHEN THEY GO OUT ACURA PROMISED TO REPLACE THEM AS LONG AS WE WERE THE ORIGINAL OWNER. WE TRADED IN THE TL YEARS AGO, BUT I KEPT THE CL. WHEN MY FIRST TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON THE CL IT WAS REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. NOW THE SECOND TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT AND ACURA IS SAYING THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR 1/2 THE PRICE OF THE REPLACEMENT. I TOLD THEM THAT WAS RIDICULOUS THAT THEY GAVE ME A TRANS THAT THEY KNEW WAS GOING TO GO OUT AND NOW THEY EXPECT ME TO PAY FOR THEIR BAD PRODUCT?? MY HUSBAND WAS A MASTER MECHANIC FOR ACURA FOR 10 YEARS AND KNOWS THAT ACURA REBUILDS THESE BAD TRANS AND REPLACES THEM W/ OTHER REBUILT BAD TRANS. AND IF I WEREN'T WEARING MY SEATBELT, I WOULD'VE GONE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. THEY ADMITTED THAT THEY KNEW ALL THESE TRANS WERE BAD AND REPLACED THE 1ST ONE @ 103,000 MILES AND SAID THEY WOULD "GOOD WILL" THESE TRANS AS LONG AS IM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. MY HUSBAND WAS A MASTER TECH. MECHANIC AT ACURA FOR 10 YRS. AND SAID THEY NEVER CAME OUT WITH A GOOD TRANS. FOR THESE CARS. THEY JUST KEEP REBUILDING THEM AND REPLACING THEM WHEN THEY GO OUT! NOW MY REPLACEMENT TRANS IS GOING OUT @ 30,000 LESS MILES THAN THE 1ST AND THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE IT WITHOUT ME PAYING FOR IT! PAY FOR ANOTHER BAD TRANSMISSION? THEY PUT ME BACK ON THE STREET WITH THEIR UNSAFE TRANSMISSION. IT'S NOT RIGHT THAT THEY ARE PUTTING 'ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN' ON THE STREETS. BOTH FAILURES WERE IDENTIFIED BY AN ACURA DEALER AS IMPORTANT MECHANICAL AND SAFETY CONCERNS. BOTH FAILURES WERE REMEDIED BY AN ACURA DEALER. THE FIRST FAILURE WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THERE WERE VERY FEW ACURA 2002/2003 CL 3.2 TYPE SS MADE, SO EVEN A COUPLE COMPLAINTS SHOULD WARRANT A REVIEW. I FOUND NUMEROUS FORUMS WITH OWNERS COMPLAINING AND ASKING FOR HELP FROM OTHERS ON THIS PROBLEM. IVE DRIVEN MANUAL TRANS CARS AND TRUCKS FOR 22 YRS TO INCLUDE ONE HONDA THAT STIL HAD THE ORIGINAL CLUTCH AT 225K MILES, SO IT IS NOT A DRIVER RELATED PROBLEM. ALL THE FOCUS HAS BEEN ON THE AUTO TRANSMISSIONS FOR THIS CAR...THAT FAILED. ACURA HAS A PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GET SERIOUSLY HURT, WHEN THEY TRY TO SHIFT INTO SECOND WHEN CROSSING A BUSY STREET AND CANT. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME AND I JUST GOT LUCKY. *NM

THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL SERVICE WAS DONE CONCLUDING NOTHING WRONG. FROM MY RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THE RECALL - "BAND-AID FIX" DOES NOT FIX WHATS ACTUALLY WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE IT IS A TRICK TO MAKE CONSUMERS THINK THAT THE CAR IS FINE. THE RECALL WAS PUT OUT BUT DOES NOT WORK!! THIS MATTER SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO PROPERLY AND THUROUGHLY AGAIN. I DO NOT WISH TO INJURE OR KILL MYSELF OR OTHERS BECAUSE MY CAR IS POORLY DESIGNED. MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER RECALL SINCE IT WAS ALREADY PROVIDED. FURTHERMORE, THE SYMPTOMS OF MY PROBLEM ARE DIFFERENT THAN THE RECALL SYMPTOMS. THE HONDA MOTOR CO. KNOWS VERY WELL THAT ALL THESE SYMPTOMS ARE COMBINED BUT DOES NOT WANT TO RECALL THE CORRECT PARTS BECAUSE IT WOULD COST TOO MUCH AND COVER TOO MANY VEHICLES. RIGHT NOW MY CHOICES ARE VERY LIMITED BUT EXPENSIVE: REPLACE WHOLE TRANSMISSION WITH FEW OTHER PARTS. MANY CONSUMERS' TRANSMISSIONS FAIL MULTIPLE TIMES SO THERE IS NO PERMANENT FIX AS THE COMPANY CLAIMS WITH THE RECALL SERVICE AND I'M SURE THIS IS NOT THE FIRST COMPLAIN. ONE OF THESE PROBLEMS WAS MY TRANSMISSION SPONTANEOUSLY DOWNSHIFTING FROM 5TH GEAR TO 2ND GEAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS CAUSED A TREMENDOUS DECREASE OF SPEED. HAD SOMEONE BEEN IN BACK OF ME, I WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, BUT IT CONTINUES TO ACT SPONTANEOUSLY. AFTER MAKING COMPLAINTS DIRECTLY TO ACURA OF AMERICA, I FEEL SNUBBED BY THEM IN THAT THEY HAVE NOT SOUGHT TO ASSIST ME OTHER THAN WARRANTY REPAIRS.

THE TRANSMISSION WAS SUBSEQUENTLY REPLACED. THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION FAILED APPROXIMATELY 800 MILES LATER. I AM NOW ON MY THIRD, WHICH IS BEGINNING TO SHOW SIGNS OF INEVITABLE FAILURE. *AK

THE DRIVER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR ANALYSIS. THE TECHNICIAN DETERMINED THAT THE PINION SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *NM

I OWN A 2002 ACURA CL TYPE S. SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER ONLY 12,000 MILES, MY TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. AFTER THE REPLACEMENT, THE TRANSMISSION STILL HAD PROBLEMS AND WAS SLIPPING BUT MY DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH IT WHEN I KNEW THAT THERE DEFINITELY WAS. AFTER GOING THE WINTER WITH A SLIPPING TRANSMISSION, IT'S NOW SUMMER AND IT IS GETTING WORST EVERY DAY. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY DEALERSHIP TODAY AND ONCE AGAIN I'M FACED WITH FIRST A TRANSMISSION FLUSH THEN ANOTHER REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION. I FEEL ACURA, NOT THE DEALERSHIP, HAS SHOWN THAT A GREAT REPUTATION CAN BE DISSOLVED QUICKLY BY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, SLOW REACTION TO PROBLEMS, AND NOT FIXING A CLEAR PROBLEM. ACURA HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTIES TO 100K ON THEIR TRANSMISSIONS BUT THIS DOES ME NO GOOD. THIS IS A BUSINESS CAR AND I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THE HEADACHE OF TAKING MY CAR IN CONSTANTLY FOR SERVICE. I BOUGHT MY ACURA BECAUSE OF THEIR REPUTATION AND BECAUSE OF OWNING A GREAT HONDA AUTOMOBILE IN THE PAST. I WILL NOW NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA/ACURA PRODUCT AND THEY HAVE LOST A GOOD CUSTOMER. *NLM

WHILE GOING 30MPH WITH THE 3RD GEAR, IF YOU ACCELERATE SO THAT THE SECOND GEAR KICKS IN, IN KICKS IN VERY SHARPLY, CREATING AN UNBEARING JERK THAT IS VERY OBSTRUSIVE INSIDE THE CABIN. HONDA SHOULD PLACE A RECALL ON THIS MODEL. DEALER WAS WILLING TO REPLACE IT BUT I'M NOT SURE IF NEW TRANSMISSION WILL BE BETTER THAN THE OLD ONE.

I HAVE HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH MY 02 CL FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS NOW. I HAVE GONE TO MY DEALER, METRO ACURA, SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING. I HAVE EVEN BEEN PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CAR DOWNSHIFTS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS CAUSING THE CAR TO IMMEDIATELY SLOW DOWN. FINALLY MY DEALER HAS AGREED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION WITH A "REBUILT" ONE. SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I BELIEVE THAT ACURA SHOULD TAKE THIS MUCH MORE SERIOUSLY.

DRIVING ON THE DAN RYAN EXPRESSWAY INTO THE CITY OF CHICAGO, I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN AND NON-PROVOKED DOWNSHIFT IN MY 2002 ACURA CL TYPE S TRANSMISSION. I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 65 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED FROM 5TH TO 2ND GEAR. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE PLOWED INTO THE BACK OF ME, AND THE CAR WAS STILL DRIVABLE AFTER THIS OCCURRED. THE CAR IS NOW AT THE DEALER, WAITING FOR IT'S TRANSMISSION TO BE REPLACED. I PURCHASED THE CAR IN DECEMBER 2001 AND AT DROP-OFF AT THE DEALER, THE CAR ONLY HAS 7998 MILES ON IT. I DON'T CARE IF I HAVE A 7YR/100K WARRANTY EXTENSION ON THE TRANSMISSION, THIS TYPE OF FAILURE IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SOMETHING THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE ACURA. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT NOT ONLY MY SAFETY, BUT ALSO THE SAFETY OF MY WIFE.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE. CARS TRANSMISSIONS FOR 6 MONTHS HAS BEEN SHIFTING ERRATIC, HARD, SURGING, DOWNSHIFTING WITHOUT NOTICE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, AND SLIPPING. CAR ONLY HAS 13K OF MILES AND NOW IS IN AT THE DEALER FOR A NEW TRANNY. THERE ARE MANY REPORTS OF THIS FAILURE AND A FEW FATALITIES IT SEEMS. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED FAST. I PLAN TO DITCH THIS CAR IN THE NEXT 6 MONTHS BECAUSE IT JUST DOESN'T FEEL SAFE ANYMORE TO DRIVE. EVEN THE REPLACEMENT TRANNYS ARE DIEING.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED WITHOUT WARNING, ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS
MY PROBLEM IS THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I HAVE HAD MY TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT ABOUT 12,000 MILES AND NOW AGIAN I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A NEW DEALER AND ITS IN FOR A NEW TRANNY AT 36,300 MILES. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING TO HEAR. I ALSO HAVE HAD WARPED ROTORS AT ABOUT 13,000 WHICH I HAD TO PAY OVER 500 DOLLARS IN REPAIR WITH ACURA. WHICH THIS PROBLEM IS REPEATING. I AM VERY DISTURBED BECAUSE TODAY I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR DOWN SHIFTED UNEXPECTLY AND THE RPMS JOLTED UP WHICH FORCED MY CAR TO REACTING IN A UNEXPECTED SPEED INCREASE WHICH COULD'VE CAUSED A MAJOR ACIDENT. CONSUMER STATES TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED 2X WHILE DRIVING SINCE VEHICLE PURCHASED. FIRST INCIDENT WAS ON 7/5/02. TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED BY DLR ON 7/15/02, BUT THEN FAILED AGAIN ON 7/21/02 WHILE DRIVING 30MPH. CONSUMER STATES WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED IN THE DURING THE LAST INCIDENT. MR THERE WAS CLUNKING/GRINDING NOISE AND THE BRAKES FELT AS IF THEY WERE DEPRESSED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REMEDY. THE VEHICLE VEERED INTO ANOTHER LANE DURING A RAIN STORM. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS TRACTION CONTROL DEVICE. SCC
THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED BY ITSELF TO A LOWER GEAR, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DECELERATE IN A DANGROUS MANNER. SOON OR LATER SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED IF THIS PROBLEM IS NOT CORRECTED.*AK
VEHICLE DISPLAYED HESITATION AT 15 MPH NUMEROUS TIMES, WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. ON 25 JUNE 2002, DEALER REPLACED TRANSMISSION, NO PROBLEMS SO FAR.*AKTHE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT TIMES WHEN STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD GO OUT OF GEAR. THE NEW TRANSMISSION HAS NOISE PROBLEMS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. CONSUMER REQUESTS THAT THE DEALER REPURCHASE THE VEHICLE. *JG
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM AN OUT OF TOWN TRIP WHEN THE CAR STARTED SHIFTING EXTREMELY HARD AS I WAS DRIVING. I CALLED A LOCAL ACURA DEALERSHIP, IN AUGUSTA GA, AND TOLD THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THEY COULD NOT SEE ME UNTIL THE NEXT DAY, WHICH WAS 9/6/2002. I HAD TO STOP AND GET A HOTEL ROOM IN AUGUSTA AND AS I WAS GOING TO THE HOTEL THE CAR GOT STUCK IN 5TH GEAR. THE NEXT MORNING I DROVE THE CAR, IN 5TH GEAR, TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP SO THEY COULD EVALUATE THE CAR. THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, IT WAS REPLACED AND THE CAR CONTINUES TO GET STUCK. I WAS TOLD, BY THE DEALERSHIP, THAT IT IS NOW STUCK IN 2ND GEAR WITH THE NEW TRANSMISSION. I WAS ALSO TOLD THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND THEY DONT KNOW HOW LONG THEY WILL HAVE MY CAR. ACURA CLAIMS THAT WHEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE WILL GET A LOANER CAR COMPARABLE TO WHAT THEY ARE DRIVING. THIS IS A FALSE STATEMENT AND FALSE ADVERTISING. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH ACURA, THE QUALITY OF ITS VEHICLES, AND THE FALSE ADVERTISING ABOUT THE LOANER CAR. I HAVE ALSO READ SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS, FROM 3.2 TL ACURA OWNERS, OF SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPENING AFTER ABOUT A YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOME TYPE OF DEFECT WITH THEIR PRODUCT AND THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY ACURA.*AK
CAR STARTED FREE REVVING AND ERRATICALLY UPSHIFTING AND DOWNSHIFTING WITH HARD JERKS. ALL MALFUNCTION INDICATORS LIT UP. ALMOST LOST CONTROL ON THE FREEWAY. WAS TOLD TRANSMISSION IS SHOT ON A CAR THAT IS A BIT OVER A YEAR OLD AND LESS THAN 000MILES. POOR SERVICE FROM DEALER.*AK
TRANSMISSION - FIRST SIGN CAME WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE GEARS WOULD BEGIN SLIPPING, DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL I HEARD THE ENGINE RPM'S REV HIGH. EACH DAY FOR THE NEXT TWO DAYS THE SYMPTOMS BEGAN TO WORSEN. BY THE SECOND DAY, THE TRANSMISSION COULD'NT FIND ANY GEARS. WINDOW REGULATOR - JUST ONE DAY, I PRESSED THE DOWN WINDOW BUTTON AND I HEARD POP, AND THE WINDOW JUST SLID ALL THE WAY INTO THE DOOR.
A 2002 ACURA VEHICLE PURCHASED FOR APPROXIMATELY $34,000 WITH A MAJOR FAILURE AFTER <30000 MILES AND <1YEAR ON THE ROAD. COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT AT NEWS OF OTHER OWNERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEM. WITH NO PREVIOUS WARNING, TRANSMISSION SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR JUST RED-LINING WHEN ACCELERATING. ONCE STOPPED, CAR CAN NO LONGER MOVE AND CAR JUST REV'S AS IF IN NEUTRAL.*AK
AT PURCHASE, CAR SEEMED TO PULL TO THE LEFT WHEN ACCELERATING. AFTER ABOUT 3500 MILES, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT WHILE TRAVELLING ABOUT 65 MPH. THERE WAS VIRTUALLY NO TREAD WEAR. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF PUNCTURE IN THE TREAD. THE MICHELIN DEALER SAID THAT THE ONLY WAY THE TIRE COULD HAVE FAIL THIS WAY IS TO DRIVE ON IT EXTREMELY UNDER-INFLATED. THE REASON WHY I BELIEVE THAT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE IS BECAUSE AFTER THE TIRE WAS REPLACED, THE CAR NO LONGER PULLS TO THE LEFT DURING ACCELERATION.*AK

SERVICE DEPT STATES "ENGINE REPLACED" HOWEVER, NOT INDICATED ON WORK ORDER. WORK COMPLETED 11/08/01 (17 DAYS). 11/12/01 (3717 MI.) EXPERIENCED ENGINE KNOCK, GRINDING SOUND, DIFFICULTY STARTING, & STALLING. CAR DRIVEN IN. DEALER DOESN'T AGREE WITH SYMPTOMS, RECHECKS VALVE ADJUSTMENTS. WORK COMPLETE 11/13/01 (1 DAY). 11/25/01 (4,039 MI.) CHECK ENGINE LIGHT/LOUD KNOCKING. SERVICE DEPT. DIAGNOSIS: #1 & 4 CYLINDER MISFIRE/VERY LOW COMPRESSION. REPLACED ENGINE FOR 2ND TIME < 5 WEEKS (THIS TIME DOCUMENTED ON WORK ORDER). TOLD RESIDUAL DEBRIS FROM FIRST ENGINE SWAP WAS THE CAUSITIVE FACTOR. WORK COMPLETED 12/07/01 (11 DAYS). 01/30/02 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. EXPLAINED AS FUEL/EMISSIONS PROBLEM AND TO BRING IN FOR SERVICE; 01/02/01 LIGHT GOES OFF. 02/01/02 ENGINE WILL NOT START/GRINDING NOISE. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE CALLED. TOW DRIVER ARRIVES AND CAR STARTS, TOLD TO DRIVE VEHICLE HOME INSTEAD OF DEALERSHIP. 02/02/02 (5543 MI.) ENGINE WILL NOT START, TURNS WITH GRINDING SOUND. 02/04/02 CAR TOWED BACK TO DEALER.*AK
THE HIGH SEAT BACKS SEVERELY RESTRICT VISIBILITY. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT THE SIDE BACK WINDOWS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT BE MOVED TO ENHANCE VISIBILITY. WE ARE BOTH AVERAGE HEIGHT, AND NEITHER OF US CAN SEE WHEN THE SEATS ARE IN THEIR NORMAL POSITION. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHEN BACKING UP OR TURNING RIGHT. ADDITIONALLY, VISION IS TOTALLY RESTRICTED ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE.

THERE WAS ONE OTHER CL TYPE S AT MY DEALER WAITING FOR A REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION AS WELL. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY IMPLICATIONS THESE FAILURES MAY CAUSE. ACURA RSX TYPE S WITH A 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION SHIFTS POORLY INTO 2ND GEAR. IT IS EXCESSIVELY NOTCHY AND GRINDS IF FORCED INTO GEAR. ONLY 2ND GEAR IS AFFECTED. THE PROBLEM IS THE WORST WHEN COLD, BUT NEVER SUBSIDES EVEN WHEN WARM. THE NOTCHY GRIND SEEMS TO WORSEN AS THE CAR BECOMES MORE BROKEN IN. IT IS BRAND NEW WITH 250 MILES ON IT. *AK

WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR, THEIR IS A NOTCHY GRINDING OF THE GEAR. USUALLY GOES AWAY AFTER CAR WARMS UP, BUT HAPPENS WHEN ITS COLD. SO WHEN UPSHIFTING FROM FIRST, THE SECOND GEAR GRINDS.

WHEN DRIVING AND SHIFTING FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEAR TRANSMISSION ENGAGED 2ND GEAR. THIS CAUSED THE ENGINE REV BEYOND NORMAL LIMITS. THE ENGINE DIED, AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO LOCAL ACURA DEALER. EXTENSIVE ENGINE DAMAGE WAS REVEALED.ACURA IS DENYING WARRANTY CLAIM. MANY OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. ONE CASE AT BALL ACURA IN NATIONAL CITY, CA IN SEPTEMBER WAS WARRANTIED UNDER THE EXACT SAME CIRCUMSTANCES. ANOTHER CASE AT ACURA WOODBINE IN ONTARIO CANADA WAS WARRANTIED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER. ACURA HAS A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, YET THEY WILL NOT WARRANTY MY VEHICLE. THIS IS UNFAIR. PLEASE INVESTIGATE.
STEERING BECAME SLUGGISH AND VERY NOISEY IN BRAND NEW VEHICLE. DEALER STATED THAT THE SEALS IN GEARBOX WERE DEFECTIVE THUS ALLOWING FLUID TO ACCUMULATE IN GEARBOX AND BOOTS. DEALER REPLACED COMPONENT. *AK
