Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2022 VNL vehicles equipped with Alcoa Mirror Polish Wheels, part number ULT 391, and wheel size 22.5 x 8.25. Under certain circumstances, these wheels may not be able to support the load, which can cause the wheels to bend or break while in use.
Consequence: Bent or broken wheels can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The affected vehicles have been contained by the manufacturer, and therefore no owners will be notified. Dealers will replace the wheels, free of charge. The recall began January 29, 2021. Component: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2022 VNL vehicles. The electronic control unit software may allow the transmission to shift into neutral unexpectedly.
Consequence: An unexpected shift to neutral can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the electronic control module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 01, 2021. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2104.

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2021-2022 VAH, VDH, VNL, AND VNR vehicles. The hubcap compression spring can cause the hubcap to separate.
Consequence: A separated hubcap can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will remove the hubcap, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 12, 2021. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Mack's number for this recall is RVXX 2102.
Component: ENGINE
Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2022 VNL vehicles equipped with Cummins X15 diesel engines. The capscrews that attach the flywheel to the crankshaft may have been improperly torqued, allowing the flywheel to detach.
Consequence: A detached flywheel can cause loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, driveline pieces may be ejected from the engine compartment, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: The affected vehicles are still within the manufacturer's control. The Volvo Trucks manufacturing facility will properly torque the capscrews and inspect for possible damage and, if necessary, repair any damage found, free of charge. The recall began January 5, 2021. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 1-800-528-6586.
Component: SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:SUPPLY:RESERVOIR/TANK
Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2022-2023 VNL vehicles. The air tank bracket fasteners were excessively tightened and may have broken.
Consequence: Broken fasteners may allow the air tank to detach from the vehicle, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 16, 2022. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2205.
Component: AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN
Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Truck) is recalling certain 2022-2024 VNL and VHD vehicles equipped with RollTek driver seats. A missing circuit will prevent the side air bag from deploying during a crash.
Consequence: An air bag that does not deploy, increases the risk of an injury.
Remedy: Dealers will connect a jumper harness between the seat and main cab harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 4, 2023. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2305.

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2022-2024 VNR, VNL, VHD, and VAH trucks. The windshield wiper motor gears may wear prematurely, causing the motor to fail.
Consequence: Inoperative windshield wipers can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the windshield wiper motor assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 1, 2023. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks number for this recall is RVXX2309.
The contact owns a 2022 Volvo VNL. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and was unable to accelerate above 10 MPH, after which the low coolant warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. After a visual inspection of the engine compartment, the contact observed that the coolant reservoir was abnormally low on coolant. After refilling the reservoir, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The contact also stated that the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard while at a stopped and the contact heard a hissing sound coming from the brake pedal, after which the brakes briefly released, and the vehicle began to roll. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the water pump. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 313,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Volvo VNL860. The contact stated that upon attempting to drain the driver’s side air tank, he noticed that the air tank flaring was loose. The service technician tightened the flaring. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, he noticed that the screws of the visor light located outside the windshield were falling. The contact then noticed that the visor cover was vibrating. The contact veered to the side of the road and inserted the screws in the visor cover and attempted to tighten the screws; however, the failure persisted while driving. The contact used a plastic bag to hold the visor cover into place. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 5 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle was making an abnormal sound and hesitated to respond. The contact veered to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rubber located between the two metal turbo pipes needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the visor light cover screws were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 168,000.
