CERTAIN AFTERMARKET BRAKE HYDRAULIC MASTER CYLINDERS SOLD AS REPLACEMENT BRAKE CYLINDERS FOR CERTAIN FORD, DAIMLERCHRYSLER, AND JEEP PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE BRAKE CYLINDERS WERE SOLD UNDER THE BRAND NAMES OF NAPA, RAYBESTOS, AIMCO, AC DELCO, CARQUEST, BENDIX, AND WAGNER. ONLY PRODUCTS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 27, 2005 THROUGH JANUARY 17, 2006 (DATE CODES 0529 THROUGH 0602) ARE SUBJECT TO THIS RECALL. WHEN SUBJECT TO VERY COLD TEMPERATURES, AN INTERNAL SEAL IN THE MASTER CYLINDER COULD LOSE FLEXIBILITY AND MAY CAUSE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK.
Consequence: LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID CAN LEAD TO A DECREASE IN BRAKE LINE PRESSURE AND AN INCREASE IN STOPPING DISTANCE, WHICH CAN RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy: AFFINIA (BRAKE PARTS, INC.) WILL REPLACE THE SUBJECT BRAKE HYDRAULIC MASTER CYLINDERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 20, 2006. OWNERS CAN CONTACT AFFINA GROUP CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-323-0354.

SABERSPORT IS RECALLING 16,270 COMBINATION CORNER AND BUMPER LAMP ASSEMBLIES OF VARIOUS PART NUMBERS SOLD FOR USE AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE HEADLAMPS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THESE LAMPS DO NOT CONTAIN THE REQUIRED AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS.
Consequence: DECREASED LIGHTING VISIBILITY MAY RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy: SABERSPORT WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER A FULL REFUND FOR THE NONCOMPLIANT COMBINATION LAMPS. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 11, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SABERSPORT AT 1-909-598-7589.
The contact owns a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated, and the instrument gauges failed to operate as designed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

Found that there is a plastic fuel tank mounted behind the rear axle hanging down below the bumper and was told if I get rear ended it could cause an explosion that would need to have a hitch receiver installed to protect the fuel tank

CERTAIN AFTERMARKET AIRTEX ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS INSTALLED FOR USE AS REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT FOR CERTAIN 1997-2004 JEEP WRANGLER; 1997-2001 JEEP CHEROKEE; 1997-2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE; AND 2000-2003 DODGE DAKOTA VEHICLES. THE PLASTIC ELECTRICAL GROMMET CONNECTORS AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP MODULE ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH AUTOMOTIVE FUELS AND MAY DEGRADE CAUSING A POTENTIAL LEAK PATH FOR FUEL.
Consequence: IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, A FUEL LEAK COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy: AIRTEX WILL NOTIFY ITS CUSTOMERS AND WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED FUEL PUMPS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 25, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT AIRTEX CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT 1-800-880-3056.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CERTAIN VAN, WAGON, PICKUP TRUCKS, PASSENGER AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, FAIL TO COMPLY WITH REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 209, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLIES." THE FRONT SEAT BELT RETRACTOR MAY NOT COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE STANDARD.
Consequence: IF THE RETRACTOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, IT WILL NOT ADEQUATELY PROTECT OCCUPANTS IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.

ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 4.0L ENGINE ONLY, THE DESIGN OF THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST MANIFOLDS COULD ALLOW DEBRIS TO ACCUMULATE AT THE #3 CYLINDER LOCATION.
Consequence: THIS COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A MANIFOLD SHIELD TO MODIFY THE AIR FLOW CHARACTERISTICS AND TO PREVENT THE ACCUMULATION OF DEBRIS IN THE AREA OF THE #3 CYLINDER. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN MAY 13, 2002. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE SEAT BELT SHOULDER HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE TURNING LOOP (ATL) TOP MOUNTING BOLT WAS INADEQUATELY MANUFACTURED.
Consequence: THE AFFECTED MOUNTING BOLTS MAY NOT WITHSTAND SUFFICIENT FORCE TO FUNCTION PROPERLY IN CERTAIN IMPACT SITUATIONS, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY TO A BELTED OCCUPANT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SHOULDER BELT HEIGHT ADJUSTER MOUNTING BOLTS.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE REAR OUTBOARD SEAT BELT RETRACTOR SPRING CAN DISENGAGE FROM THE REWIND MECHANISM, DISABLING THE RETRACTOR FUNCTION, AND PREVENTING THE BELT FROM FITTING SNUGLY AROUND THE OCCUPANT.
Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED, INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THESE RETRACTORS.
YOU ARE DRIVING ALONG ON A HIGHWAY DOING 70 MILES PER HOUR AND THE CAR STARTS STOPPING THIS TIME YOU BARELY GET ONTO THE SHOULDER. OR, YOU ARE DRIVING ALONG THE CAR STOPS YOU PUT ON YOUR FLASHERS AND YOU HEAR THE TRUCKS BEHIND YOU BREAKING AND SLIDING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAS IN MOTION AT LEAST TEN OF THE TIMES THE JEEP DECIDED TO STOP. I HAVE HAD MY GRANDS IN THERE ALL UNDER FIVE WHEN WE ALMOST DIED BUT BECAUSE I AM ON A FIXED INCOME WITH A 1999 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT YOU SWEAR BY I AM JUST OUT OF LUCK AS YOUR DEALERS ALL SAY THEY DO NOT FIX ANYTHNG THAT OLD I AM GUESSING, AS THEY COULD ONLY FIX IT FOR TEN YEARS IT SHOULD HAVE ONLY LASTED TEN YEARS. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS SITTING IN A PARKING LOT WAITING FOR A TOW FOR SEVEN HOURS WHEN I FINALLY CALLED MY SON TO PICK UP HIS CHILDREN AND I HAD TO STAY ANOTHER FOUR HOURS ON MARCH 15, 2020. FINALLY GOT IT TOWED TO HIS HOUSE WHERE IT STILL SITS AS EVERYONE OF YOUR DEALERSHIPS HAVE REASONS FOR WHY THEY DO NOT FIX CARS OVER TEN YEARS OLD. PERHAPS PART OF YOUR MARKETING SHOULD SAY AFTER TEN YEARS YOU SHOULD THROW IT AWAY BECAUSE WE ARE NOT GOING TO FIX IT.
LATELY I BEEN HAVING TROUBLE STARTIMG THE JEEP. AT FIRST IT SEEMS AS IF THE BATTERY IS LOW. SOUNDS LIKE IT WONT START BUT THEN IT SLOWLY PICKS UP AND STARTS IF I PRESS THE GAS. I CHANGED BATTERY BUT STILL HAVING TROUBLE. BUT ONCE ITS ON AND RUNNING IT SEEMS FINE. I ALSO HAVE A STEERING PROBLEM. TRUCK SEEMS TO PULL TO THE LEFT

THE VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 118,000.
I HAVE A LEAK IN MY GAS TANK. I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION TO PUT GAS IN IT AND NOTICED A LEAK COMING FROM MY GAS TANK BEFORE I STARTED FILLING IT. IT WAS DRIPPING OFF GAS TANK COVER....
I FOUND ONLY GENERAL INFORMATION THAT OUR 1999 JEEP CHEROKEE HAD TWO RECALLS. IT IS TWENTY YEARS OLD AND I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE RECALLS. WE ARE MOST CONCERNED TO LEARN THAT THERE WAS AN AIR BAG RECALL SOMETIME IN THE PAST. WE HAVE OWNED IT SINCE 2003 AND NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL. THE INFO SAID IT WAS A NHTSA RECALL #00V105000. THE OTHER RECALL SAYS IT'S AN AFTER-MARKET FUEL PUMP AIR TEX ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS FOR 1999 ' 2004. PLEASE SEND US ANY INFORMATION ON THIS AND WHAT WE CAN DO ABOUT IT, IF ANYTHING. THANK YOU
"TAKATA RECALL" TO BE TRUTHFULLY HONEST NOTHING ABOUT THIS JEEP IS SAFE I DIDN'T KNOW THAT I COULD PUT IN A RECALL FOR THIS JEEP BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS TOO OLD AND TOO LATE ANYWAY SENSORS ARE HORRIBLE NO TURNING SIGNALS , MY BELT ASSEMBLY BREAKS A PART WHILE DRIVING RADIATOR GETS REALLY HOT TO THE POINT OF SMOKING EVEN WHEN MY COOLANT IS FULL I HAVE SUN ROOF PROBLEMS BECAUSE WATER LEAKS THROUGH IT AND FLOODS THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE TRUNK WILL NOT OPEN MY SUSPENSION IS IN GREAT NEED OF HELP IT DOESN'T EVEN BOUNCE , ALOT OF SAFETY PROBLEMS BUT LIKE I SAID DIDN'T KNOW I COULD FOR FILE FOR A RECALL SO I'M HOPING THAT THIS CAN GET RECALLED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING INTERMITTENTLY IN ALL TYPES OF DRIVING AND AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS

THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT IT WAS NOT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP GROUND WIRES MAY BE DEFECTIVE, WHICH COULD HAVE PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
