No recalls found for the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
While driving on the highway in light traffic at approximately 70 mph and changing lanes, the side airbags in my vehicle suddenly deployed without warning. There was no collision, no contact with another vehicle, no road debris, and no apparent external cause for deployment. I did not strike anything before, during, or after the deployment. There were no vehicles within several car lengths of my vehicle at the time. Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene. Officer TJ Carter with Guilford County responded. Upon inspection of the vehicle at the scene, we found no evidence of impact or contact with another vehicle, object, or debris. The vehicle was covered in yellow pollen at the time, and even light contact would have left visible marks or disturbance in the pollen. After examining the vehicle, no signs of contact were identified. The vehicle does have unrelated prior body damage from over a year ago on one side, but that damage predates this incident and was not caused by this event. The responding officer can confirm there was no collision or new impact associated with the airbag deployment. There was no accident associated with this airbag deployment. The airbags deployed while I was traveling at highway speed, which caused a sudden and dangerous driving event and required me to quickly maneuver to the side of the roadway. This created a serious safety risk to me and to surrounding traffic. Prior to this incident, there were no warning lights, safety alerts, or service notifications indicating an issue with the airbag system or vehicle safety systems. However, a notification did appear in the My Chevrolet app at or around the time of the incident. The vehicle has not yet been fully inspected following the incident. A safety claim has been submitted to General Motors. I also have video footage of the Highway Patrol Officer cutting down the airbags on-site but cannot add that below so I have added a screenshot.
The bolts holding the exhaust to the catalytic converter broke while I was driving my car. The car could have flipped, the exhaust could have busted through the vehicle, or I could have caused an accident and died. This comes on the heels of the EXACT SAME THING happening to my wife's Chevy Trailblazer with nearly the same mileage as mine. I have 97K miles and she 96K. This is a KNOWN ISSUE to them and it is NOT THE FIRST time this has occurred. There are thousands of similar instances that have occurred and one can easily find the anecdotes through an online search.

The Onstar module has went out on my car and while researching the issue I found out that it is a very common problem with Chevrolet/GM vehicles years 2021-2025 and although Chevrolet and GM are wwll aware that there's an issue and that the onstar modules are faulty there's been no recall. Mind you the module doesn't just affect onstar features it also is connected to bluetooth microphone and remote start and now none of them work at all.
Screen in car goes black.no radio,no noise,no back up camera-Apple car play won’t hook up anymore-I see others models around mine having exactly the same issues I am experiencing-I have reset radio/screen multiple times,it works anywhere from a few mins to hours then it blacks out again and there is nothing on screen.i have replaced the battery, key fine battery’s,and fuse.and I am still experiencing this issues.i have made an appointment at a Chevy dealer to have it diagnosed March 2,2026.that is $169.00 out of my pocket.again I am seeing plenty of other checks around my make and model having the same issues being recalled. My incident started about January 30,2026.
My family and I was I involved in a hit and run accident. My minor child is still suffering from shoulder/rotator cuff injuries. Hewas in the process to start conditioning for football. The seatbelt on the day of the accident did not lock. GM sent a criminal investigator not a trained engineer for the vehicle. The seatbelts needs to be inspected. The motor/transmission is making a ticking sound.
Had p1098 code come up on car at 67000 issue coolant control valve assembly went bad. This a commons issue with trailblazers and other cars similar to it. Bad design cause extremely expensive repair for this component.

Exhaust fell off under normal operating conditions. Dealership (Dekalb Sycamore Chevrolet- Sycamore Illinois) stated this has been a common issue with this year group of Chevrolet Trailblazer SUVs. Dealership stated the bolts/exhaust pipe junction between the catalytic converter and pipe that goes to the muffler rusts through and the entire exhaust system from the cat back falls out of the undercarriage of the vehicle, which is what happened here.
I was in a collision. Traveling a four lane highway during daylight ours with no in-climate weather. The car in front of a line of approximately 4 cars missed their exit and slammed on his breaks to make a right turn from the driving lane. The line of cars in front of me stopped and/or left the roadway to avoid a collision. I was unable to stop in time and had nowhere to go and I rear-ended the car in front of me, which was fully stopped in the lane. According to my dash camera my speed on Impact was approximately 45 mph. No front end collision warning alarms went off. No automatic breaking occurred. No airbag deployed. None of the vehicle safety and anti collision measures performed as I had expected. $10,000 worth of damage to my car alone.

There was no warning light illuminated. The contact shifted into neutral(N) and then back into park(P) to stop the beeping sound. The contact stated that while the vehicle was shut off and in park(P); the gear shifter independently shifted out of park(P) into reverse(R). The vehicle did not move backwards; however, the contact was able to shift back to the park(P) without further failures. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was provided with the cost for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure, despite multiple attempts for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
1/ while at the stop site, the car suddenly stopped and went black. Stereo turn off and screen went black. 2/ sometime I can’t unlock the car from inside. The lock works but not the unlock button. While backing or stopping there is a high noise that seems like I have a bad brake , took it to the dealership and they said the brake is good but they can’t figure out where the noise coming from. I took the car to the dealership 3 times in 1 month since the problem started and they still can not fix it.

Coolant Vavle malfunction Engine could overheat Yes Manufacturer No warning lights..check engine light came and I had the car diagnosed
When I shift my vehicle into park and hit the button to shut it off, a "shift to park" message appears on the DIC screen. I then am required to start my vehicle again, shift into gear, and then put it back into park and attempt to shut the vehicle off again. It has taken me up to 15 minutes to be able to get it to recognize that my vehicle is in park and for the message to not pop up. If I get out of the car while the message is still on the DIC screen, I cannot lock my vehicle and it drains the battery. I contacted my local Chevrolet dealer and they are saying that although this is a known issue which has had more than one GM Service Bulletin on this issue which includes my year and model, there is not an actual recall for this, so I have to pay out of pocket, because my bumper to bumper warranty expired at 36,000 miles and I am currently just shy of 39,000 miles. Of note, there is also a class action lawsuit for this exact issue so I am confused as to why a recall would not have been issued, or why it would not still be covered despite the expired bumper to bumper warranty.
