My vehicle was in motion down a state highway at approximately 55 mph around a corner as my 6.2 put itself into neutral and shut itself off. A message displayed on my dash stating to press start again to restart the engine. I pulled to the side of the road and attempted to do so in which nothing happened. Vehicle was towed to the dealer the same day. I was on a blind corner, experiencing complete engine failure on a busy state highway, I was near inches from being hit multiple times and sent off of a roughly 30 foot drop. My 6.2 experiencing complete engine failure at approximately 33000 miles should not be happening. The engine had no warning signs just happened traveling down the road. The dealership has ordered my engine under warranty but I remain well over 1000 on the waiting list to get a new 6.2 engine. My main concern is what happens when I get the truck back with the same malfunctioning 6.2 with no recall and no fix. How long until it breaks again? GM has done nothing else to remedy the situation and make the situation better for their loyal customers. Vehicle has been in the shop since 03/18 and has no return in the foreseeable future.
While driving on the freeway with my family in the middle of a snowstorm, my 2025 Silverado 1500 with 8,000 miles on it, suddenly dropped gears down to 1st without warning. The check engine light went on and I later found out it was the valve body that caused it. This could have cause serious harm to my family had I not maintained control of the vehicle. The dealership fixed the problem only for it to happen again a month later. The truck is still in the shop.
On March 6, 2026 exactly one month ago from today, I was driving my Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 with a 6.2 liter gas engine to a family vacation. We were traveling through our home state to another state. I was driving and my wife, along wiht two children (age [XXX] and [XXX] ) and my family dog were all riding inside the truck. We were traveling at posted highway speed approximately three hours from our home. There was a whine from the engine compartment that got progressively louder in about 30 seconds. Then the engine began to lose power. We were near a chevrolet dealer so I pulled in the service bay, where the technician swiftly told me to cut off the engine, that my crankshaft was broken and it lead to catastrophic engine failure. The vehicle is available for inspection at the same Chevrolet dealer we visited one month ago. My family's safety was put at risk because we were traveling at highway speed and the vehicle witnessed catastrophic engine failure. Due to catastrophic engine failure, the engine has not been turned on by the dealer since departing the service department. The vehicle was been inspected by the service department at a certified Chevrolet dealer. Interestingly, there were no warning lights or any type of warning other than the severe sound coming from the engine compartment. Prior to engine failure, there were no other symptoms of the problem other than the low pitched whine that progressively got louder over a 30 second period of time. Violent shuddering, as if vehicle does not know what gear to be in. unpredictable harsh and delayed gear changes. Many repairs have been made, including transmission replacement, but issue still remains. Newberg Chevrolet dealership that did all previous repairs has denied to schedule an appointment for follow up diagnosis and needed repairs. This shuddering vehicle is unpredictable and unsafe to drive, yet GM has refused to help.
while driving down the freeway at 80 mph, in my 2025 Chevy truck with 6000 mikes , the truck suddenly locked up, almost throwing myself and my daughter into the dash, thank goodness the semi truck behind us was paying attention of we would be dead! I was able to steer it to the shoulder of the road where I unhooked the battery hoping to reset the system to no avail. Waited on the side of the road till the tow truck got there. towed the truck to my local Chevy dealer where they confirmed the engine was blown, I want Chevy to do a buyback on the truck as I have zero confidence in the truck, do not feel safe in it anymore, my daughter swore to never set foot in it again after such a dramatic event. i now have to wait a month for the dealer to install a new motor, at which time they will not give me a loaner truck, very disappointing. 1-Total engine failure. 2-Mine, my daughter, the semi truck driver, and many other surrounding drivers safety and lives were put at risk. 3- Yes the dealer has confirmed it was a totally engine loss. 4-no one else has inspected the vehicle 5- No light, sensors or warnings just a loud bang then our lives flashing before our eyes.
The contact's daughter owned a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LD. The contact stated that his son was parked in a parking lot and starting the vehicle when the vehicle caught on fire. The contact stated that his son reported that the fire started under the hood. The contact stated that the fire department was called and extinguished the flames. The vehicle did not have insurance, and the fire department did not investigate the cause of the fire. The contact stated that no report was filed. The contact had the vehicle towed to his residence. The contact had informed the manufacturer of the incident and had filed a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
On 3/30/2026, I was driving down the road & suddenly my dash filled with warning lights about brakes, abs etc. Steering the vehicle became almost impossible because power steering was gone. When I attempted to brake, I also found that I had very little braking. The vehicle has 11,036 miles. Got the vehicle to the dealership - Capital Chevrolet from which it was purchased. It has been diagnosed as a major brake failure. Master Cylinder, booster, reservoir, seals etc. Extremely dangerous situation without any early warning signs, lights or notices.
I HAD A 2020 CHEVY TRAIL BOSS AND THE PISTON ROD BROKE. CHEVY STATED I NEEDED A NEW MOTOR. AT THE TIME IT WAS 5 WEEKS OR MORE TO GET FIXED. I TRADED IT IN FOR THE SAME STYLE TRUCK BECAUSE I WAS ON VACATION AND NEEDED TO GET HOME. (2025 WITH THE L87 6.2 MOTOR). MY NEW TRUCK HAS 21000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE BEEN NOTICING A ROUGHER IDLE, OIL USE BETWEEN OIL CHANGES, AND METAL DEBRIE IN THE OIL AND OIL FILTER. I’M AFRAID THIS NEW TRUCK WILL BLOW UP TOO. I LOST MONEY ON THE 2020 TRUCK AND NOW IT LOOKS LIKE THE SAME IS HAPPENING TO MY NEW ONE.
Purchased brand new 2025 reedman toll chevy Springfield pa. Been on going issues with tires been rebalanced 5 times . Shakes when driving. On highway. Been 3 chevy certified dealers still cannot figure whats going on. GM is not helping with this matter at all.
My vehicle frequently loses all cabin sound, including the radio, audible turn signal, and forward/rear collision and lane departure warnings. When this occurs, the cabin is completely silent. The loss of radio audio is an inconvenience, but the loss of safety feature alerts is a clear hazard. My dealership has suggested this may be related to a recent software update; however, there is no apparent correlation between the updates and when the issue occurs.
I have had my vehicle to a GM dealership three times now due to the check engine light coming on and getting an emission warning. 2/13/26 was the first visit. It was right after I filled up my tank with gas that the check engine light came on when I started driving down the road. I got an appointment at a GM dealership. They put the scanner on it and received the codes. They drove it back to the service garage and I went back to work. I received information from them that they could not fix anything because the check engine light had disappeared and there were no codes available anymore. I picked up my vehicle and a week later 2/20/26 the same thing happened after I got gas. The check engine light came on and an emission warning on my Chevy app. I stopped back into the same dealership. And the same thing happened. Scanner, codes, and then they disappeared. The third time I got gas the same thing happened again with the check engine light and emission system warning. This was on 2/28/2026. I went to a different dealership and the exact same thing happened..... scanner, codes received, schedule an appointment to get it in the following week, started the vehicle and pulled out. The check engine light was still on at that time. And the check engine light disappeared once again as I was driving down the road. Each time this has happened I have been able to use my remote start via my Chevy app along with trying to use my handheld key fob remote start. The dealerships have told me this is normal for this type of check engine light emission warning. When researching this issue there are a lot of people experiencing the same thing. Scratching my head wondering why there's not a recall on this.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine in my 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 experienced a catastrophic internal failure caused by a failed thrust bearing in the crankshaft assembly. The failure caused the engine to stop operating immediately and without warning. The vehicle and engine are currently at a dealership/service facility and the failed components should be available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The engine failed suddenly while the vehicle was being driven through an intersection, causing the vehicle to stall and lose power in active traffic. This left my family stranded in the middle of the roadway with vehicles approaching from multiple directions. Because the engine failure occurred without warning, we were unable to move the vehicle out of the intersection immediately, creating a serious risk of a collision with other vehicles. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The failure has been inspected and confirmed by the dealership/service center, which determined that the engine experienced a thrust bearing failure leading to catastrophic engine damage and loss of power. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? At this time, the vehicle has been inspected by the dealership/service department. The vehicle remains available for further inspection by the manufacturer or other parties if requested. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lights, messages, or noticeable symptoms prior to the engine failure. The vehicle was operating normally immediately before the incident. The engine shut down suddenly and without any prior indication that a mechanical failure was imminent.
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the infotainment screen failed to turn off. The contact became aware that the Bluetooth had failed to remain connected. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the infotainment center had failed and needed to be replaced. The infotainment center was replaced. After having the repair completed, the contact became aware that the check engine warning light was illuminated, and the message “Engine Power Reduced” was displayed. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, who diagnosed that the engine had failed due to thrust bearing failures. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The engine was replaced. The vehicle was only owned for 3 months when the engine completely failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
engine failure
when entering traffic vehicle wheels locked up and engine stopped, when restarted vehicle was in limp or reduced power mode, check engine light is on, message on screen and in app identifies transmission and electrical problem. anti slip was engaged automatically upon restart.
I was driving my 2025 Chevy Silverado RST L87 (6.2) with 37,836 miles on the highway and suddenly my engine lost power and my dash said “Needs to restart”. My truck went into neutral and I was able to coast off of the highway. After coming to a complete stop, I tried to restart with no success. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership where they found metal shavings in the engine and told me I’m going to need a new engine.
Driving 30 mph down a city street when heard a pop and vehicle completely lost power at speed. Engine turned off and I coasted to a stop, which was unfortunately at an intersection and due to traffic could not get over safely. All accessories were still on however I could not restart the vehicle or put the vehicle into neutral, which left me stranded in the middle of a busy intersection. Hazards were working intermittently, at best. Had to call local PD to provide traffic control while we disconnected the battery and reconnected it while standing in an intersection. After I was able to get the vehicle restarted it had a check engine light and the OnStar app showed Transmission, Ignition, and Engine Electrical warnings. Had the vehicle towed to the dealership, where they have had it for 7 days and cannot diagnose an issue and are trying to return the vehicle to me unfixed. They stated they typically would not even try to diagnose it for this long, however I have a case open with the GM executive team.
I was driving under normal conditions and the vehicle began lurching, limiting acceleration, with an error saying "reduce acceleration". Was able to get home but the next time the truck was started there was a check engine light and the vehicle was unable to shift into reverse gear. When attempting to put it into reverse, it gives the error "conditions not correct to shift" and turn on the parking break. Trying to drive it with this issue is unsafe. The truck will lurch, limit acceleration, and overall not safe to drive. The truck only has 21k miles on it.
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving approximately 35 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle failed to restart and was later towed to the local dealer and was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that a piston had exploded. The dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The engine was replaced with a remanufactured engine. The contact was concerned that the engine might experience the same failure as the original engine. The contact stated that the 6.2-liter engine had been under recall for previous model years under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and other vehicle owners' concerns. The failure mileage was 9,000.
I have taken my vehicle to the dealership, Preston, Hood Chevrolet, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The problem I’m having is the avoidance system! Not getting warning nor will the vehicle stop an emergency situation where I’m going forward in a vehicle stops quickly in front of me nor will it work if a person is walking behind my vehicle or if there’s a vehicle behind my vehicle when I’m backing out of my driveway. They keep telling me everything checks out on the computer and they keep saying it’s normal and it’s only meant to possibly slow down the vehicle before a crash. They do not give me any definitive answer and they also escalated to GM response is basically the same thing. You can read all over the Internet that a lot of people have this problems. I have friends that own the same truck and it works perfectly. My truck will not. It’s very frustrating because one of the reasons why I bought a new vehicle like this was for those safety reasons. Also, when I am pulling out of a parking spot and turning the wheel, the truck accelerates by itself and goes into cruise control. Only doing a few miles per hour. And this might be because of the location of the activation of the cruise control switch. It is a lever on the steering wheel and it’s easily to engage. And I don’t understand why it would engage at such a slow speed. I’ve had several situations where a vehicle has stopped suddenly in front of me and my truck will not respond at all with a late morning shaking of the seats no alarm and no breaking luckily I was able to stop in time with my own reaction. The technicians will not work on this because the computer says it’s OK. It seems like they have technicians but not mechanics. My opinion. I spent a lot of money for this truck and I’m [XXX] although my reactions are still pretty good. I’m looking at a vehicle that will assist if I do not react. This vehicle doesn’t react and I paid for this and I am afraid when I need the avoidance system, it won’t work. the following issues with my truck. 1. October 29-November 4. rear crossing traffic not working. front windshield camera not working, side detection now working. 2. 17 December Adaptive Cruise would accelerate when not in use. side camera not available. back up camera not in use, all dash related to the radio, phone and google not working. 3.5 Feb 26 blind spot indicator, forward collision, and rear crossing traffic warning working. 4 with all this issues this vehicle is an accident in motion a safety hazard to me and any body around this vehicle GMC has had this vehicle 4 times and can not seem to get it repaired.
Prior to this incident, I had been having issues with my fuel management system give a “reduced acceleration” warning (codes P0087, P228B) in weather below 28-30F. It was in the shop 3 times prior: first time was “bad fuel”, second had my fuel rail and fuel filter replaced, and third time I had my high pressure fuel pump replaced (also had a rear crank seal leak). While approaching a stop sign, my vehicle gave me a check engine light with a “Reduced Acceleration” warning followed by several other warning messages and then ultimately lost power and shut off give me no ability to steer or brake my vehicle. Luckily, my vehicle came to stop and no crash or injuries occurred. If this had been at higher speeds the outcome could have been fatal to myself or another driver/passenger on the road. This incident also gave me a P0087, P12A6, P228A, and P228B error codes. I was able to restart the vehicle and make it home. The following day, the “Reduced Acceleration” message once again appeared. The vehicle is currently at the dealer awaiting diagnosis and repair.
While driving to work on [XXX] in Huntsville AL at approximately 55MPH. I was using Chevrolet SuperCruise. I tried turning off super cruise with the super cruise button. It did not turn off, tried pressing cruise control button, nothing, tried the cancel button, nothing, pressed brakes and would not turn off. Truck started slowing in very heavy traffic, it turned hazards on. I was finally able to get it turned off. I have reported to dealer, no surprise they didn't answer, left message at 9 am this morning, no call back. I have made a report to GM. I no longer feel safe putting my family in this truck. This truck has been in shop several times for "Service driver assist", no on-star, no cellular data, extremely slow infotainment system and no supercruise available. The truck at last visit for the service driver assist took more than 2 week. I was told a camera and a software update were performed. The issues have persisted. The super cruise event yesterday was the first occurrence of this type. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle’s wireless Apple CarPlay system forces the iPhone to connect to the truck’s built-in Wi-Fi network, which does not provide internet access. When connected, iPhone cellular data is blocked, resulting in frequent loss of navigation, traffic updates, and streaming services while driving. There is no option in the vehicle settings to disable the Wi-Fi or force cellular use. Multiple troubleshooting steps have been attempted, including iPhone network resets, Wi-Fi assist, toggling data settings, and re-pairing CarPlay, all without success. This design flaw creates a safety concern because navigation and real-time traffic information can fail unexpectedly, requiring driver distraction to troubleshoot or rely on a handheld device. The issue appears to be a firmware or design limitation of the infotainment system, not a defect with the phone. Using wired CarPlay resolves the issue, but wireless CarPlay as advertised consistently blocks cellular data. I am filing this complaint to report a persistent connectivity and safety problem that affects all users of wireless CarPlay on this vehicle model. The inability to access real-time navigation and traffic data while driving is a clear distraction and could contribute to unsafe driving conditions.
Transmission warning light came on the dash saying may not be able to shift soon. I dropped of at the dealer and they said they were backed up on that department I would have to leave it there and they would diagnose in a week and let me know. Still waiting 6.2 zr2
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH for an unknown reason, a 2008 Honda Odyssey, making a turn, swerved in front of the vehicle, and a crash occurred. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver struck the steering wheel and sustained a concussion, and had a severe strain, shoulder injuries, and an eye injury. The passenger sustained a fractured sternum, a concussion, and neck and pelvis injuries. They were transported to the emergency room at the hospital. The airbags did not deploy. The seat belts failed to restrain the occupants. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire. The vehicle was towed to an auto shop. The local dealer was contacted, who confirmed there were no recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 2,300.
Catastrophic Engine Failure - 4500 miles Driving on the highway, truck suddenly lost power (limp mode) and started flashing warning related to low power and oil level issues. The vehicle was towed, and spent 43 days in the shop waiting for a complete engine replacement.
Driving south on I95 under normal condition. After driving for about a hour truck started smoking under the hood. I pulled over and turned off vehicle. I released the latch to open hood. When I got out of the vehicle to lift the hood there were flames coming from both sides of the hood. I did not lift the hood. I moved away from the vehicle and called 911. Police and fire department responded and extinguished the fire. Vehicle was a total loss. GM indicates they will not investigate the cause and I should work through my insurance company for compensation.
The thrust bearing of 3.0l diesel engine is out of spec engine knocking there was no check engine lights on. The safety of this problem is I was at the cancer facility with my other half while she was getting chemotherapy when this started so I left her there went home and got are other vehicle
Was driving home from going to dinner on Jan 4th Sunday lower acceleration than usual . Did not think anything about it got up on the 5th January 2026 to goto work got on the interstate and a message power decline drove carefully. I changed direction and started driving to the dealership right as I got to the stop light by the dealership I got a message low oil pressure turn engine off. At which time the dealership checked the truck said the oil pump faulted and caused the engine to burn up,
infotainment center and navigation and Bluetooth with phone problem started on the way home from the dealer same day it was purchased , 3.0 diesel engine failed at 7000 miles
On 11-20-25 while driving vehicle home a loud noise was heard coming from rear of engine. After review and consultation with automative technician it was thought best to park truck in safe location at house and have towed to dealership as engine noise identified aligned with other reports of thrust bearing failures associated with this engine. Driving engine further was considered unsafe if further damage occurred the engine could seize up while on highway. The Dealership tested engine on 11-21-25 in accordance with GM technical service bulletin and confirmed a thrust bearing failure had occurred. A replacement engine and turbo were submitted for order, but not available to due to back order of these parts due to large number of failures of same engine this year. Only the GM dealership that I purchased car from has inspected vehicle at this time and there were no check engine lights in vehicle when failure occurred. I have since identified the GM technical service bulletin was published in September of 2025 and the Duramax 3.0 has had numerous failures throughout 2025, prior to my purchasing vehicle at end of October. GM manufacturing misrepresented the quality of vehicle during the new vehicle purchase and did not disclose the significant number of engine failures that have occurred this year that could have left me and my family in an extremely unsafe situation. Additionally there has been no communication on how the replacement engine equipment manufacturing has resolved the issue that created the initial failure and I am concerned of driving vehicle in future as the engine failure may occur again. NHTSA needs to record this incident and request to GM failure rate data this year and investigate GM for selling vehicles with known manufacturing issues that place driver/passengers in an unsafe condition when vehicle looses power while driving.
2025 Chevrolet 1500 Silverado High Country 6.2 L motor with 5624 miles blown motor. When I tried to start it, the motor made a noise like someone tossed a handful of spoons in a blender and turned it on. Motor shut off on its own. This was on Sunday December 21st of 2025. Truck as towed to Westly Chapel Chevrolet in Westly Chapel Florida on Monday December 22nd of 2025. Chevrolet Customer Service was called on Monday December 22nd of 2025. The Case # XXX. I spoke to 7 different people before a manager called me later that evening and said my case manager will be Tyisha. The manager stated she was Tyisha's direct manager and that Tyisha would reach out to me within 2-3 days. The manager also stated that she was unaware of the 2021-2024 issues with the 6.2 L motor. I informed Customer Service I wanted a buy back and that 7 Service Departments told me that motor replacements are taking 3-6 + months. Ive been told the repair for the 6.2 L has not been properly addressed and the new motors are still have catastrophic failures. I spoke to 7 local Chevrolet Service departments. Each one said they had several of the 6.2 L motors in with major failures. Some brand new 2025. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Shifting thru lower gears was irregular in lower gears 12/02/2025. Made appointment with dealer on 12/04/2025 they could not duplicate. 12/16/2025 Reverse would not work. Tried to take to dealer and couldn't go over thirty mile per hour without transmission jerking. was towed to dealer on 12/17/2025. it's been there since.
Took 2025 Silverado with a 6.2L engine to get oil changed and tire rotation done. Upon completion drove out of dealership and notice a weird noise coming from engine, then kind of disappeared. Drove home. Wife took car for gym then suppose to go to work. She called stating engine sounded really bad, like a lot of metal and metal screeching. Went to dealership, explained and they towed truck to service department to be looked at on 12/22/2025. Safety to others would have been detrimental if the vehicle had seized on the highway. The dealer person who sent for the tow was not the service manager but when we arrived he heard what the vehicle sounded like. No check engine lights or any warnings on. Hope to have results on Monday.
At random times when you start the vehicle there is no sound. No sound from the turn signals, radio, emergency flashers. Apple Car Play. You have to restart the vehicle to have it reset. You always do not know there is no sound until you have started to drive and go to use the radio of notice that the turn signal is not working. I did not realize that my left hand turn signal did not turn off and at a traffic light I was going straight and a car turn in front of me because they assumed I was making a left hand turn. There was not an accident because they were able to stop. I have had it back to the dealership a number of times. They reset the system. Said it needed a global reset. Even after the reset it still is doing this. Happens more in cold weather. I have recording that are date showing no sound. I have multiple videos but I am unable to upload due to size. I was able to share them with the service technician at Gentilini Cherolet. 500 John S. Penn Blvd. Woodbine, NJ 08270. Phone Number 609-459-0014.
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds on several occasions, there was discrepancy between the speed limit displayed on the infotainment system and the actual speed limit posted on the road. The contact sated that while driving at an undisclosed speed on a residential street, the infotainment system displayed that the speed limit was 55 MPH while the posted speed limit was significantly lower. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the failure was acknowledged, but the contact was informed that the remedy to correct the failure was not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75.
I was driving home from a camping trip with my children when my truck occurred a reduce speed error on the dash and the truck went into limp mode. I found out through GM Onstar that the truck threw a PO6DD code. The vehicle was towed to dealer and the oil pressure valve was replaced and also a wiring harness.
I was driving down the highway with my children to see a movie when my trucks check engine light came on and started surging and losing power we were struggling to drive 5 mph on the shoulder of the road to make it to the closest exit ramp for a safe place to stop. We were able to make it to the ramp but couldn't exit completely because it was an up hill grade. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for a complete engine replacement. The vehicle suffered from a thrust bearing failure.
I had just received my truck back from a complete engine replacement from the dealer and had driven it 10 miles back to my house and the check engine light came on and the dash said reduced power service DPF system. The truck was towed to dealer for PO302 code and injector #3 was replaced.
Purchased new and after 3 weeks (about 600 miles) I was on highway between 60-70 MPH truck started to shutter like it was losing power and would not accelerate. I complained to the sales person and he stated it ran a little rough when purchased first day - I was told it just needs to warm up. Took truck to dealer and they determined at this time it was a misfire and lifter bank issue. There seems to be an issue widespread - I am not comfortable with car and if on the highway i am not able to accelerate properly or becomes unreliable at the time to accelerate I am worried about safety.
No Owners manual installed
traveling at 75 MPH on highway truck went into reduced acceleration mode putting my wife and I in danger. There were many simi trucks having to swerve as my vehicle reduced speed at a high rate and was unable to safetly come to a stop. there was a bulletin released prior to my purchase that was not disclosed that could have warned of potential danger of complete engine loss. was told by dealership engine grenaded dealership confirmed needed new engine and turbo and they are on back order which leads me to believe that I am not the only one this has happened to.
The radio system is severely defective, exhibiting: •Complete loss of sound with no audio output •Severe crackling and static when sound does work •Intermittent failures that create safety concerns when navigation or hands-free calling fails. Turn signals have no sound or alerts from collision warnings, parking, rear cross traffic
There is a reoccurring issue where vehicle will stop functioning bring up a error to service every component on the vehicle and is completely random when it occurs and dealers have not been able to replicate it after 4 visits
Turn signal sound intermittently fails along with all sound to the radio, phone, warning sounds, all audio feedback fails. GM is aware and does not have a fix.
I purchased the vehicle on 8-23-25. On 10-23-25 while driving my daughter to school I received a message on the dashboard that said "reduced acceleration mode drive with care." I immediately drove to the dealership. After a few hours I was told by the dealer that the diagnostic code of PO6DD "Engine Oil Pressure Control Solenoid Valve Stuck Off" had been recorded and a full engine replacement will be required. The vehicle has 3307 miles on it and has been at the dealership since. Engines for this vehicle are on back order and there is no timeframe available on when a new engine will be available.
6 weeks since purchase and only 2000 miles-engine suddenly made a horrible rattling noise and stalled. Towed to dealership and was told engine was dead and needed replacement.
While driving down IH10 in Boerne, TX on Oct 15, 2025, I saw smoke coming into the vehicle from the A/C vents. I immediately pulled over and put it in park, opened the driver door to get out and turned back to my truck to flames shooting out between the rear passenger side of the cab and in front on the bed of the truck. I had a UHaul trailer in tow and immediately unhooked it to get it away from the truck. I returned to my truck to retrieve my phone and proceeded to watch in desbelief as my truck and belongings went up in flames. It was fully engulfed within 30 seconds with no warnings from inside the truck while driving. Took firefighters over two hours to distinguish the flames fully.
The glass on the driver's side mirror fluctuates when driving at speeds above approximately 35 MPH. It gets more intense the faster the vehicle travels. It's very distracting and also causes the mirror to go out of adjustment. I have had the mirror assembly changed 2 times by the dealer I'm still having the same issue. I filed a complaint with GM. After I filed a complaint the dealer installed ballast on the back side of the glass for counter balance per GM Engineers. That still did not fix the problem. I feel this is a design issue with the mirror. I am not the only owner with this issue.
The vehicle was a service loaner provided to me but it was factory new with the sticker still on the window. The dealer told me they would still sell the vehicle as new. When I started it, I had a display screen that indicated it was in a Demo mode. Taking it out of Demo mode would have required me to confirm that I had purchased the vehicle. The volume control and power control for the audio were not working at all. The volume was probably at 30% where I could hear but not clearly and also just loud enough that I couldn't hear sounds outside the vehicle well. This condition was not affected by the audio source. I could no change the volume in Bluetooth, AM, FM, XM, or Phone modes. I also could not turn off or mute the audio by pressing the Power button. There was a responding fire truck behind me on the road and I went to turn off the audio to hear it clearly and I was not able to. I took a video of this condition happening multiple times as photographs don't help to demonstrate much. I did notify the dealer by sending the Service Manager a text message with the video and said he would notate the condition. This persisted through multiple days and multiple restarts. After approx. 4-5 days, the expected functionality returned with no action or updates that I am aware of.
At 5,750 mi. the 6.2 gas engine seized due to connecting rod bearings. The dealer replaced the engine, cooling system and oil cooling system under warranty with a similar engine. I am of the opinion that it could have been at least partly due to the low viscosity motor oil that the manufacturer insists upon to maintain the factory warranty, 0-W20 synthetic, along with a poorly engineered fuel management system. Also, once the vehicle was stopped and put into park, the electronically controlled transmission refused to change gears, to be put into neutral, in order to be pushed out of traffic and on to a tow vehicle, it had to be dragged. The vehicle is extremely unreliable and a danger to the public.
On the evening of August 27, 25, when exiting the highway ramp, the vehicle's engine suddenly stopped and stalled, the gear automatically shifted to neutral, and the hazard lights could not be turned on. After about 2 minutes, it restarted normally and turned on the hazard lights.
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument cluster displayed a black screen and seized. The contact stated that occasionally the instrument cluster failed to activate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with instrument cluster failure. The contact was informed that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were not available to repair the instrument cluster. The contact referenced an undisclosed recall; however, the VIN was not under recall. The contact stated that the failure started immediately after the vehicle was purchased. The contact had been waiting for delivery of the parts for two months. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had been contacted more than twenty times. The failure mileage was approximately 2.
Transmission would not engage reverse gear. Then forward drive gears hard shift and surging. Truck delivered to dealer, inspection revealed a bad valve body. Parts availability unknown. No warning lights or caution lights. Just broke in a parking garage in Aspen Co. I live in south Texas. Truck and travel trailer in Colorado. Truck has 16000 miles. Had this failed two days before we would have been on pikes peak mountain. And the danger of transmission failure going up or down the mountain would have been very dangerous.
My 2025 Chevy Silverado ZR2 has experienced the same dangerous system failure five times. While driving, every warning light on the dash activates, I lose power steering, and the vehicle completely shuts down and won’t restart. This creates an extreme safety risk — the first failure happened on a local road, but most recently, it occurred while my family was driving out of state during a holiday. The truck has now been out of service for over 50 cumulative days across these repeated incidents. GM has accepted a Lemon Law claim but has not resolved it, leaving me without a vehicle and no clear path forward. These systemic failures present serious risks to me, my family, and other drivers. The latest failure occurred in July 2025, and the vehicle remains at Bill Cramer Chevrolet in Panama City Beach, FL with no resolution. I am still making loan payments and paying for transportation out-of-pocket, without any support from the manufacturer.
when coming to a stop, the truck idols high before slowly going down. Seems unsafe as if is not wanting to stop. I am also hearing a chirping coming from under the hood.
Tread on tire chunked, exposing belts. Tires have <12,000 miles on set. OE installed. Bridgestone Alenza A/S 02 115S 275/60R20
My 2025 Certified Pre-owned, 10 day old truck with approx. 6200 miles, was parked and I was unable to shift into reverse (as if in neutral). I put the truck in drive and entered the highway. About half a mile later, multiple warning lights appeared and the truck slowed, unable to shift out of gear. Luckily, there was a dealership a few miles away so I drove the truck there slowly and on the shoulder as much as possible. Upon inspection at the dealership, they told me that the valve body needed to be replaced. After the repair, which only took a few days, the dealership was test-driving the truck when the powertrain completely seized. They attempted to restart the truck but burned out the starter and fuse block which was also replaced. After a GM engineer gave the mechanics permission, they dropped the transmission to find that it was completely seized and had also seized the engine, though the engine was reportedly not damaged. The entire transmission was replaced and the truck was returned to me with about a month of downtime. This was a clear safety issue as the truck stopped working while on a highway. Luckily, I was in a heavily populated area where help was available. The transmission was returned to GM for further inspection and the repair was fully covered under warranty. Prior to the incident, there were no warning lights/messages, but only appeared after the issue.
Issues with DEF system. Fuel and DEF tank is filled up. Within 100 miles of towing the DEF system states DEF is empty and Speed will be limited within 500 miles. At the time the message appears on screen, fuel mileage goes from 13ish mpg to 8 mpg. Try to add DEF and only able to add close to a gallon of DEF. System has a hard time recalculating the amount of DEF in system.
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked in the garage, the key fob was accidentally depressed twice. There were no warning light lights illuminated. The contact stated that the design of the key fob was different from the key fob for a similar vehicle the contact owned, just an older model. On the older model, whenever the contact pressed the key fob and the lock button was pressed, the vehicle would start. The contact stated that on the new vehicle, when the lock button was pressed twice the vehicle would start unintendedly while the vehicle was in the garage. The contact stated that on another occasion, the key fob was pressed twice unintendedly and the tailgate open, and the vehicle started. The contact believed the failure was caused by a defect. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
The "Auto-stop" feature of the engine apparently automatically turns itself on every time the engine is started. there is no warning light or other indication that it is on except a very small light ON THE SWITCH TO SHUT OFF. The auto-stop function itself is inherently unsafe because it shuts the engine off and doesn't restart it until the operator removes his foot from the brake.... -sometimes it takes several seconds to restart. If you take your foot off from the pedal and then put it back on and the vehicle rolls back a bit, it may not start at all, necessitating shifting to park and manually restarting the engine. If it does start late, the engine may surge and the vehicle will lurch ahead into traffic. I have had two close calls because of the "auto-stop", once causing a semi-trailer truck to veer away to miss me. Any driver that fails to disengage the auto-stop function on engine start is putting his own and other peoples lives in danger. NO FEATURE AFFECTING ENGINE ON-OFF, VEHICLE SPEED, STEERING , OR BRAKING SHOULD EVER BE ENGAGED WITHOUT A SPECIFIC COMMAND BY THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN IT IS ENGAGED, BY THE OPERATOR, AN AMBER WARNING LIGHT SHOULD SHOW ON THE DASH PANEL AND STAY ON AS LONG AS THAT AUTOMATIC FEATURE IS ENGAGED. IF NOT, THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE HELD TOTALLY AND SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACCIDENT THAT OCCURS AS A RESULT OF THAT FEATURE.
Driving on road at approximately 30 mph. All lights on dash came on and car braked suddenly immediately stopping the vehicle in the middle of traffic. Could not release the brake. Car was idling very rough during this time. Turned car off and back on. Brake released but still running very rough. Made it the short trip home. Truck to dealership via wrecker. Brake was again a problem getting on and off the wrecker
A trailer hitch has an sticker stating the Tow Vehicle Maximum Trailer rating for the hitch. Owner's manual and towing safety stickers on the driver's side door only state the maximum dead weight for a hitch...that is the weight applied if a trailer is attached to the tow vehicle's hitch ball. This sticker give you maximum if a trailer is installed with a weight distribution hitch assembly. On my 2025 Silverado, as well on four other Silverados I viewed at a dealer, and a few GMC Sierras, also viewed at dealers, the sticker is applied; however, impossible to read the specifications supplied by the sticker. I have uploaded two files: One, is the sticker as viewed on a 2016 GMC that is attached to the bottom of the hitch, easy to read and obtain the SAFETY information contained. Second photo is how the sticker is attached to my 2025 Silverado (and as noted on all other vehicles I viewed at dealerships) and as you can see, the specifications are not readable. I even tried a mirror and not enough room for the mirror to fit and allow viewing of the stats. The information on this sticker is required to SAFELY pull a trailer with a weight distribution style hitch assembly. And to require a sticker, but not make as requirement it needs to be legible is ludicrous. Thanks
Days after purchasing the vehicle brand new back in 2023, it began having issues with what they thought was the new 4 cylinder mode working itself in or electrical shifting needed to be replaced… After numerous years of being stalled out on highways, unnecessary repairs made, lose of business revenue, and more. It turned out to be a faulty engine with bad bearings, & levers. Over time, got worse & left unseen causing it to officially blow. The shutdown modes prior were all left undetected or resolved by dealership service stations. After being told of suspicious knocking since only thousands of miles out on.
I have brought two new Gm pickups this years a Denali and a high county and they both been hack into they take over the brakes and steering and everything of the vehicle that’s 80000 thousand a piece truck Gm need to do something before they kill me onstar has report of them in the vehicle
While putting bottom seat cover on my new truck in the back seat, I pushed the seat cover under the back rest and hit a very sharp piece of metal and cut my finger. I wrapped my finger up and continued the install. On the other side of the truck I hit another sharp piece of metal behind the back rest and cut another finger. No medical treatment was required. I dont know if the metal is part of the seat bracket or what, I cannot see it.
Automatic braking disabled yet sensor stuck in Alert mode and slams on brakes pulling into parking spaces, backing up, etc
