GM IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2004-2011, CHEVROLET COLORADO, GMC CANYON, MODEL YEAR 2006, ISUZU I-280/I-350, AND MODEL YEAR 2007-2008, I-290/I-370, REGULAR CAB VEHICLES AND EXTENDED CAB VEHICLES WITHOUT A REAR SEAT AND EQUIPPED WITH A FRONT 60/40 SPLIT BENCH SEAT. THESE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 225, "CHILD RESTRAINT ANCHORAGE SYSTEMS." THE TOP TETHER ANCHOR FOR THE FRONT CENTER SEAT IS NOT ACCESSIBLE AND THE OWNER MANUAL DOES NOT INCLUDE INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING HOW TO USE THE TOP TETHER.
Consequence: BOTH NHTSA AND GM DISCOURAGE PLACEMENT OF A CHILD IN A FRONT SEAT. NEVERTHELESS, THERE ARE INDIVIDUAL CIRCUMSTANCES THAT MAY REQUIRE PLACEMENT OF A CHILD IN A RESTRAINT IN THE FRONT CENTER SEATING POSITION OF THIS VEHICLE THAT DOES NOT OFFER A REAR SEAT. LACK OF ACCESS TO THE TOP TETHER ANCHOR AND A LACK OF INSTRUCTIONS AS TO HOW TO USE IT, MAY RESULT IN IMPROPER INSTALLATION OF A CHILD RESTRAINT. IMPROPER INSTALLATION OF A CHILD RESTRAINT CAN RESULT IN A REDUCTION IN THE RESTRAINT'S PERFORMANCE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH AND AN INCREASED RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH TO THE CHILD SEATED IN THE RESTRAINT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL CUT A HOLE INTO THE BACK PANEL TRIM COVER TO ALLOW ACCESS TO THE TOP TETHER ANCHOR FOR THE FRONT CENTER SEAT POSITION AND WILL PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION AS TO USE IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED AN OWNER NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. GM IS RECALLING 185,903 MODEL YEAR 2004-2009 COLORADO, GMC MODEL YEAR 2009-2004 CANYON, MODEL YEAR 2006 I-280, I-350, MODEL YEAR 2007-2008 I-290, AND I-370, PASSENGER VEHICLES ORIGINALLY SOLD IN OR CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN THE STATES OF ALABAMA, ARIZONA, FLORIDA, GEORGIA, HAWAII, LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI, NEVADA, NEW MEXICO, PUERTO RICO, SOUTH CAROLINA, TEXAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS AND UTAH. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE A BRAKE LAMP SWITCH THAT MAY NOT WORK AS DESIGNED DUE TO CONTAMINATION IN THE SWITCH.
THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE SIMULTANEOUS LOSS OF ALL BRAKE LAMPS OR CAUSE ALL OF THE BRAKE LAMPS TO STAY ON CONTINUOUSLY. BOTH OF THESE CONDITIONS COULD FAIL TO WARN OTHERS OF THE DRIVER'S INTENTIONS AND COULD LEAD TO A VEHICLE CRASH.

There is a recall for my year of Colorado but not my vin. The recall is for 04-09 Colorado trucks for a defective brake light switch. Defective switch=no brake lights. My 2007 Colorado brake light switch is defective, therefore I have no brake lights. The switch has been tested and found to be defective, but a search of my vin shows no recalls. It's obvious that my vehicle and likely many more vehicles are effected than what are covered under this recall.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COLORADO EQUIPPED WITH GENERAL TIRES, TIRE LINE: GRABBER AT/2, TIRE SIZE: 265/70/R15, DOT NUMBER: A3BM3NH2617E40240029. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THERE WAS A BLOWOUT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE. THE BLOWOUT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO TURN SHARPLY LEFT, SPIN AROUND TWICE, AND CRASHED WITH ONCOMING VEHICLES COMING FROM BEHIND. EMERGENCY SERVICES WERE CALLED OUT TO THE SCENE OF THE CRASH. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE TIRE WAS A REPLACEMENT TIRE. NEITHER THE TIRE MANUFACTURER NOR THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE ON THE TIRE WAS 14,000.

CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES AND TRUCKS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 110, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS." THESE VEHICLES HAVE AN INCOMPLETE TIRE RIM DESIGNATION ON THE CERTIFICATION/TIRE LABEL LOCATED ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR EDGE. IN ADDITION, THE LABEL MAY ALSO BE MISSING THE TIRE LOAD RATING ON THE LABEL. ALTHOUGH THIS INFORMATION IS NOT REQUIRED BY THE STANDARD, IF A TIRE OF A LESSER LOAD RATING IS INSTALLED, THE TIRE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN THE LOADS ENCOUNTERED DURING USE.
Consequence: IF A CUSTOMER REPLACES A WHEEL AND ONLY RELIES ON THE RIM SIZE DESIGNATION THAT IS INDICATED ON THE LABEL, A WHEEL THAT IS OF A DIFFERENT RIM CONTOUR DESIGNATION MAY BE INSTALLED. IT MAY BE DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE TO MOUNT THE TIRE ON A WHEEL WITH THE WRONG CONTOUR. IF THE TIRE IS MOUNTED ON THE WHEEL WITH THE WRONG CONTOUR, THE WHEEL AND TIRE MAY NOT PERFORM AS INTENDED, WHICH COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: A LABEL THAT WILL CORRECT THE LABEL ORIGINALLY INSTALLED WILL BE MAILED TO CONSUMERS ALONG WITH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. THE CUSTOMER WILL HAVE THE OPTION FOR DEALERS TO INSTALL THE LABEL. MY 2007 CHEVROLET COLORADO LS 4 CYLINDER 2.9 LITRE HAS ALWAYS RANDOMLY WON'T START. I RESEARCHED THIS AND EVERY YEAR OF THE COLORADO HAS HAD THIS ISSUE OF RANDOMLY NOT STARTING, COUNTLESS DOLLARS HAVE BEEN SPENT TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT, CHEVROLET WILL NOT SAY IT IS AN ISSUE AND IT IS A HUGE ISSUE FOR ALMOST EVERY SINGLE YEAR. PASSLOCK ISSUE? JUST COSTED ME 266.00 AT THE CHEV GARAGE AND MY TRUCK STILL IS STRUGGLING TO START, BEEN TOLD STARTER AND BATTERY ARE FINE. ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE REGULATOR ARE FINE. LEMON PLEASE RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE IT'S SO UNFAIR TO US CONSUMERS TO WASTE MONEY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT A FAULTY DESIGN IN A VEHICLE. GO ON YOU TUBE, COUNTLESS PEOPLE SHARE THE SAME ISSUE. VEHICLE SAT IDLE FOR A FEW YEARS BEFORE MY OWNERSHIP, THEN WAS IN CONSTANT MOTION ON HIGHWAYS AND CITY STREETS FOR 2 YEARS IN MY POSSESSION. UNSURE HOW AN 11 YEAR OLD VEHICLE COULD HAVE THIS HAPPEN, BUT AT SOME POINT THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED 2 LARGE CRACKS IN THE FRAME (ONE ON THE DRIVE SIDE AND ONE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE, BOTH JUST BEHIND THE DOORS OF THEIR RESPECTIVE SIDES OF THE VEHICLE) CAUSING THE BED OF THE TRUCK TO LEAN INTO THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. PICTURES INCLUDED IN THIS POST ARE OF THE BED LEANING INTO THE CAN, AND ONE PICTURE AT THE WORST VISIBLE ANGLE OF THE CRACK ON EACH SIDE OF THE VEHICLE'S FRAME.

BILLY NAVARRE GMC (LOCATED AT 3690 GERSTNER MEMORIAL DR, LAKE CHARLES, LA 70607, (337) 513-4378) WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V310000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

PASSLOCK SECURITY SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS AND RANDOMLY DOES NOT LET YOU START YOUR VEHICLE FOR TEN MINUTES LEAVING YOU STRANDED. SOMETIMES IT WILL DO IT CONTINUALLY. HAVE HAD TO WAIT AS LONG AS 80 MINUTES TO START.
