1. Rear diff is making grinding noise, front ptu is making a grinding noise and pinion seal is leaking, front axle throwing grease out inner boot. 2. Car stopping in middle of travel. Had a hard time getting it off the road. 3. The problem was confirmed by the dealership car was purchased from. 4. Only inspected by dealership mechanic. 5. Only by dealership mechanic. 6. There were no warning lamps prior to failure. The grinding was happening at time of purchase.
Brake failure. Pedal drops, especially when ABS is activated. Dealer diagnosed ABS control module and HCU hydraulic leak. Parts for this are on back order per dealer leaving me with a dangerous driving situation or inability to use my vehicle. No warning lamp or message displays. The fact that the parts to fix a major safety item are not available is unacceptable.

Vehicle randomly dies while driving. Can happen at anytime and at any speed. No warning at all. Does not leave a check engine light so no code is recorded. Very dangerous. Otherwise vehicle runs well but is too dangerous to drive. All steering, acceleration, brakes, etc. are lost when it dies. Will immediately start back up if in park or neutral and foot on the brake. Again - DANGEROUS! This has been going on for over 6 months now. Some days all ok and other days can be multiple events.
Moonroof glass component off track described by third party Lincoln/Ford mechanic, and will not go back on track when using buttons to open and close.
My brakes have failed on this car three times. I had new front and back brakes installed on [XXX] mileage 44882. Again my brakes failed on [XXX] mileage 47626. A new brake booster was installed along with front brakes. Again on [XXX] brakes failed again and a brake booster and front brakes were installed. Mileage 54924. Today I was driving to my daughters house in Zanesville, Ohio and my brakes failed again. My car is still down in Zanesville because I could not drive it home. The mileage is 57000. Every time this happens I risk an accident. Even though the brake booster is covered by extended warranty, because Lincoln knows about this problem, I still have to pay for brakes and other cost. On two occasions i was on my way to church when the brake pedal went completely to the floor with no braking effect. i pumped the brake peddle several times and then in both instances braking was reestablished. These instances happened about a month and a half apart.
In June 2024, i received a letter dated March of 2024 for a Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02 that ended before i had a chance to take my vehicle into the repair shop to have this item fixed. Actually, i received the letter past the date that it could qualify for the repair as it was 10 years from the original warranty or 150,000 miles. My original warranty start date was December 2013. So they sent the "Customer Satisfaction Program notice 13N02" After the date it could be repaired. I called the dealership anyway, despite their error, to see if they may want to fix this Spongy Break Pedal anyway since they had messed up their mailing date. (Shultz Lincoln in Wexford, PA) They declined and told me they would be happy to look at it for a low fee of $180.00. I told them they should do it for free. I then called Lincoln directly where i spoke with a very nice gentleman. He looked through every possible scenario and decided that i was not able to get it fixed under the program. There really should be some type of law disallowing them to send out post dated letters knowing very well that they were not going to fix it because it was past the date of repair. My brake pedal hits the floor when i try to stop and if i do not push on the pedal hard enough to brake without the booster kicking in, i bump into things. Solution, i have attached a 2 channel dash cam to the vehicle with a live feed posted to a server in order to document my death caused by Lincoln. I have instructed my attorneys to release the feed upon my death and have authorized a law suit in my name. if won, they have been told to distribute the money to all of the homeless people that the Lincoln Executives drive past with their pocket tight and windows up every day on their way to work. This should be a crime. They should fix their safety issues, they should not be allowed to send out notices offering to pay for repairs that they do not plan on repairing. Also, they could spare a dollar for the Homeless

The contact stated that several other unknown warning lights were illuminated when the vehicle was started several days later. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed who retrieved DTC code: U3000; 49-68. The dealer determined that the ABS module needed to be replaced; however, the parts to repair the vehicle were on a national backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 92,109.
Brake booster is a known issue with these cars. It failed today and my car has 100,000 miles. Ford has issued a customer satisfaction notice, but they refuse to fix my car because it was built 3 months too early.
Our car has been having issues with the breaks. At random times the break peddle gets very spongy and has to be pushed to the floor before the brakes will activate. The reduced break pressure has caused near crashes as the vehicle does not slow down when the breaks are pushed until the pedal is pushed to the floor. We took the car into a Lincoln dealership and they spent a day looking at the vehicle. The mechanic informed us that the vehicle has a faulty ABS pump and that the part needs to be replaced to remedy the brake issue. We were told by the Lincoln dealer that the part is on back order and that this part is known to fail on our year and model of car.

The driver was taken to an area hospital and treated for a sprained hip, a sprained ankle, and various contusions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the vehicle was functioning as intended. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 243,000.
We have had numerous failures in the braking system. This started with occasional spongy pedal issues that resulted in replacement of the brake booster. This started a two year long journey to repair brake issues. This has gone thru two of the most reputable auto mechanic shops in our area. We have gone thru three brake boosters, one master cylinder, and about to replace the second ABS hydraulic unit. The ABS hydraulic/module unit is the most frustrating because it is failing at such a rate the mechanics cannot get them new and we have had to use refurbished ones. This is a tremendous safety issue and we as consumers are working diligently to repair the issues... only to have erratic unsafe braking conditions. This is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen if Ford/Lincoln does not address the issues and research a solution.

Noticed for the last year or two that the buttons on my air and best turn on without to touch any button and will not power off also the windows will fog while driving. If heat is on the buttons will dial to air conditioning which causes foggy windows while on busy interstate. Also noticed there are several complaints on the internet from others who experience similarities of what is call ghost buttons. This also send sensor into a frenzy and can cause the car to over heat without warning happen to me twice.
When driving the vehicle, the brakes got stiff and mushy and hard to stop the car. There was not indicator on the dash there was an issue with the brakes. Had it checked by a mechanic and he stated it needed to go to the dealership since it was the brake booster which needed attention. I looked for recalls on this model and they had one in 2015 time frame, but I did not purchase it used until 8/17 after the recall. I set an appointment with the Stumpf Ford where they confirmed it was the brake booster. I also found numerous (43) complaints about the same issue with the 2013 Lincoln MKX. I fortunately did not have an accident when this happened, but feel there are issues around the brake booster and it is a hazard for my self and other drivers if there had been an accident. The dealership had stated there was a recall which ended in 2015 for that model, but that there is one on going from 2018 until 2025 for the MKZ. As stated this is a safety issue for the driver of the car and other drivers.

While driving on Sept 22 2023 I hit a pothole and immediately felt a change in the pressure in the gas pedal, upon braking I noticed a loss of pressure in the brake system. Vehicle was slow to respond to applicsation of brake pedal to where I had to move my seaty forward so that I could depress the pedal to the floor ( im 4'10" and could not apply the brake to the degree needed to stop my vehicle from the seat position I usually drive in). When pressing the brake pedal it felt as if it wanted to engage the ABS system but was not doing so and I would have to press the pedal to the floor which then would bring me to a jolting stop. I don't know how to explain it but there was also a differnce in the feeling of pressure when pushing on the gas pedal so whatever happened affected pressure in both the fuel and brake syatem foot pedals. I have not had the vehicle inspected as of writing this, nor have I reported it to Police as I did not experience a collisionbeing that it happened a short distance from my house abnd the vehicle has not been driven since the issue began yesterday morning Sept 22 2023.
lOSS OF PRESSURE IN BRAKES AND FUEL FOOT PEDALS AFTER HITTING A POTHOLE. PRESSURE WAS SO LOW IN BRAKES I HAD TO PRESS BRAKE PEDAL TO FLOOR TO COME TO A JERKING STOP. I DO NOT HAVE DOCUMENTATION FROM SERVICE CENTER AS I HAVE NOT HAD IT LOOKED AT SINCE THE ISSUE HAPPENED YESTERDAY MORNING, AND I HAVE NO POLICE REPORT AT THIS TIME AS THERE WAS NO CRASH.
I bought the car 1 week before taking it to Ford Garage to be serviced and inspected. It has high mileage. over 208,000 miles. The engine light was on the previsce owner said it needed an 02 sensor, upon them checking it needed 2 02 sensors and a drivers side air bag replacement. upon them checking the car fax at the Ford garage the service manager told me that the vehicle had never been in an accident or any reported damage. do airbags normally just go bad. I had to replace airbag so that it would pass West Virginia's state inspection. the service manager got upset at me when I asked why it needed replaced. he ever told me they would not do the work. But it needed done to pass the state inspection, I would just have to park it and forget about it unless I sold it to someone in a state that did not require state inspections like the man i bought it from in Ohio. I even asked if it could be a sensor or component that was bad instead of replacing the complete airbag. the service manager got very upset on me asking. so i told him to do the work so that i would be able to drive the vehicle. replacement and labor was over $1,000. I live on S.S and that's a lot of money. plus the 2, 02 sensors was over $600. Plus whether it maters , the evening before they picked up the vehicle the air conditioning worked great. have witness. the picked it up and drove it to the Ford dealership In Wellsburg , West Virginia which is a drive of about 8 to 10 miles. the service manger told me the car had no air conditioning working. This is very strange since the day I bought the car the air conditioning worked great. he told me he even had his supervisor check it. I have not been able to check the vehicle because I have been extremely ill since vehicle has been returned. I have not been able to check it , I haven't even been outside my home. all together, parts and labor an different items came to over $2,800 . was there ever a recall on the airbags during this time period its a 2013MKX
Brakes went out completely and it took several times to hit the brakes in order for you to stop. I almost had to choose hitting a pole to keep from endangering someone else. I could have lost my life. I am still frightened about this incident. After having the brake pads and rotors replaced, for $500, at Jiffy Lube, the vehicle still wouldn’t stop. I contacted Ford to inform of the issue and was informed that’s there two active recalls. After I found out there was a recall on the brake booster, I had the vehicle towed to Ford AutoNation, Arlington, Tx. They told me they were two weeks behind and would get to the vehicle ASAP. Waited over three weeks and not until the week of September 11, 2023, I was informed, that the recall expired in March 2023. I purchased vehicle in 2017. The incident occurred in July 2023. I informed them that this isn’t fair, because from research, several consumers are still complaining about the brake booster going out. I called Ford and was advised the same thing. I asked to speak with someone above and was informed, I’m it. He was the case manager. I called AutoNation back asked if they can give me a discount. Finally, I was advised repairs would go from $1413 to $865. I still feel the recall should be honored. I had no idea about this recall and it went out when it did. I guess Ford doesn’t care about their consumers life or the life of others that could have been hurt or killed. This is very poor customer service. So now, I have to spend more money which is now coming to a total of $1913, (includes brake pads/rotors), and Ford took approximately $600 off repairs, still leaving me with almost $900 out of pocket. Please assist me with my concern to this matter.
The brake booster on this car is going bad. It is exactly the same part that was recalled on our daughter's 2013 Ford Edge. There are no warning lamps or other feedback to the driver. It is an audible sound of air escaping that I recognized from her experience. It is not yet difficult to make the car stop, but, it is a significant concern. I first heard the issue in August of this year at just over 108,000 miles. It has not been inspected by a mechanic yet, I will be taking it in. This is a significant issue. It is continuous and I first thought it was in the air conditioning. My husband identified it as the same sound we heard on my daughter's edge.

Without any warning light on dashboard, brake pedal on our 2013 Lincoln Mkx became very difficult to press. So difficult my wife is unable to do so at all. Takes an alarming amount of space to come to a complete stop. Very dangerous and almost caused an accident. A recall took place a few years back before we owned this vehicle (recall 13n02) and listed brake booster as the cause up through the 2013 model. For some reason our vehicle was not included. Regardless of if manufacturer says the problem was resolved by the time our vehicle was manufactured, that is clearly not the case. I have read countless testimonials from people in similar situations (same vehicle, year,and problem), so why is this not being addressed? Why has this recall not been reopened? Do you really need to wait until enough people have been effected, or enough accidents have been reported, or enough lives have been lost before this becomes something you'll address? This is extremely dangerous, happened with no warning, and I'll be damned if I'm going to wait on the sidelines until someone finally decides to pay attention. Somebody needs to do their damn job and get on this. For Christ's sake, do better
When braking there is no resistance on the brake pedal and is slow to break. Very scary when it randomly happens when driving and unable to quickly stop!

Had to press brake pedal very hard, brakes were not working well. All pads/rotors were good. Had to bring it to a dealer and they said the brake booster had to be replaced. I noticed there was a recall on later model MKXs but for some reason not the 2103 - it seems like the problem affects a lot of people though.
I had to get my brake booster replaced as it caused delayed braking almost causing me to crash
I was driving to work & my vehicle started making weird noises. I parked at work & had it towed to my mechanics shop. For some reason my differential had gone out for no reason
The vehicle liftgate no longer properly latches and has opened suddenly. The interior audible warning sound continuously alerts and the interior lights sometimes fail to turn-off. The 'Liftgate Ajar' warning light remains on. This problem seems similar to the recall on 2011 Lincoln MKX.
2013 LINCOLN MKX, CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO DEFECTIVE ABS HYDRAULIC UNIT.
When stepping on the brake pedal about four months ago, it traveled nearly to the floor with correspondingly poor breaking but better than nil. Although it could be pumped up a bit to improve stopping it would continue to travel toward the floor. There was not room between the floor and pedal for the toe of my shoe. It was repaired with parts that were not Ford a Lincoln OEM. Two months later, it happened again and was repaired with OEM booster and master cylinder. It has again happened in Jan 2022 with about 130,000 miles. I’ve read some of the issues with the booster but this has defied competent, hopefully competent, technicians on two prior occasions.

Have a hard brake pedal. U0401 code. Ford replaced battery. It got rid of code but still had a hard brake pedal. Ford replaced power assist unit. That fix the problem.

Brake Booster faulty almost caused me to not to be able to come to a complete stop in traffic. My thoughts were that I needed to have brakes replaced. I did have front and back replaced. But braking are still the same the same ..not coming to a complete stop, hissing sound.
The Brake Booster on my vehicle failed. I had it replaced and two years later it failed again. Many owners of the 2013 Lincoln MKX have this same issue. This is very dangerous and it putting my families and others lives in danger if my brakes were to completely fail while driving down the highway. There should be some kind of recall on this as I have seen thousands of complaints for the same thing on this exact thing.
The brake booster went out, as well as the PTU
Brake Booster problem. When looking online this is a common problem with my year make and model. This is very dangerous concern as I had my children in the car and my brakes would not stop no matter how hard I pressed my brakes. I was lucky there was no on coming traffic or I would have been in an accident
Lately when I put the car in park it still beeps and say place in park. I have to take it in and out of park to get it to know that it is in park. the other day I put it in park and got out of the car with it still running and then it started rolling up the driveway. it was in the park position but it was moving up the hill like it was in reverse

Our Lincoln MKX had a failure of its power brake booster showing no warning indicator light on the dashboard. The brakes felt like they had air in the lines and excessive pumping was needed to build pressure on the brake pads which eventually needed to be pushed close to the floor in order to stop. We made an appointment at the Ford Dealership. But, since it was a long distance from our home, and not to put us in danger of getting into an accident, we made it to the closest brake repair business we could find that was close to our home. It was found that our Power Brake Booster & Brake Master Cylinder needed to be replaced. We are the 2nd Owners of this Vehicle & we learned that there was an a Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02 - Supplement #1 for certain 2010-2013 Model Year MKX (& Edge) Vehicles that had an Extended Warranty Coverage on Brake Boosters. Our car VIN # falls in the timeframe of this. Moreover, when the Vehicle was purchased from the Ford/Lincoln Dealership, it had 33,341 miles on it & it now only has 51,920. The Customer Satisfaction Program repairs the issue with the power brake booster at no cost within 10 years & on cars up to 150,000 miles. We had to pay out of pocket for our repair & need assistance in getting reimbursement for this expense. This unsafe occurrence also lead to having to replace a Stop Lamp Switch on 02/4/22 which failed & we were charged again (in less than a month's time) for another switch. It was also found on that repair that the booster mount on the inside under the dashboard was not tight & it had a stripped fastener. Now it is being recommended that a removal of the brake booster & master cylinder be inspected for proper installation and that a cut-out of that stripped fastener be done. Access to this requires removal of the instrument panel & steering column to access the firewall to get to the fastener. Invoices related to all this are attached for review except for the last noted recommendations.

11.30.2021 REVERSED OUT OF DRIVEWAY, SHIFTED INTO 'DRIVE'. STOP SIGN AT INTERSECTION AND TURNED LEFT ONTO STREET. THE TRANSMISSION LUGGED, NOT IN GEAR, THE RPMs RAN HIGH (ON DISPLAY) AND THEN RE-ENGAGED AND INTO FORWARD MOTION. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR SOUNDS. CLEAR DAY, 60d, FORTUNATELY NO TRAFFIC.

My brakes failed. I did not have a vehicle crash. I was pulling out of a parking lot and I was far enough behind the other car to avoid an accident. I took my 2013 Lincoln MKX to the Lincoln dealer and found that there is a 13no2 bulletin but it does not include my car even though they found that the brake booster is bad. I received no notice regarding this problem from Ford and no message on my car. There were no warning messages. I have 47,000 miles on my car.

The power brake booster failed. This happened without any warning or warnings lights coming on. We noticed a hissing sound when using the brakes and a spongy feel. We often had to push the brake almost to the floor in order to stop the car! This put us and others at risk because the brakes were not working properly. We took the car to an auto repair shop and they diagnosed the issue as the power brake booster needing to be replaced. This first started happening a couple days ago. We are now afraid to drive it. Upon doing research, we noticed this is a known issue with Ford and Lincoln and our car was manufactured one month outside of the Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02. This program repairs this exact issue at no cost within 10 years and on cars up to 150k miles. Our car has 81k miles on it. There is no question about the dangers of these vehicles on the road. There should be a recall and it should be extended to cover OUR CAR. We should not have to pay out of pocket for the EXACT same issue others whose car was manufactured one month earlier are being covered for. The issue was clearly not resolved when our car was manufactured. Please look into this.

WHEN TRAVELING DOWN A BUMPY ROAD, I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL JUST AS I HIT A RATHER LARGE BUMP. THE BRAKE PEDAL SUDDENLY WENT TO THE FLOOR. FROM THAT POINT ON, I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES JUST TO GET THE BRAKES TO ACTIVATE AND SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH VALVES STICKING IN THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM ON THE FORDS AND LINCOLN'S. IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, I HAD TO REMOVE THE 40AMP ABS PUMP FUSE AND THE 10AMP ABS MODULE FUSE. I NOW HAVE PERFECT BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE, BUT THE ABS LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT ARE ILLUMINATED ON MY DASH. THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. LUCKILY, I WAS TRAVELING ON A ROAD WITH NO TRAFFIC. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, SINCE THE EARLIER VERSIONS OF THIS VEHICLE WERE RECALLED FOR SIMILAR PROBLEMS.

DEALER SAID THE VEHICLE VIN NUMBER NEEDED TO BE CORRECTED IN BOTH THE HVAC AND PCM MODULES.. DEALER SAID IT IS A GLITCH? VEHICLE IS USED REGULARLY AND THE CABIN AIR FILTER HAD JUST BEEN CHANGED BY THE DEALER WHEN PROBLEM STARTED.

THE POLICE CARS WERE EQUIPPED WITH COOLERS SO THAT THE PTU WOULD NOT OVERHEAT. 3. THE CARS WITH THE PTUS SOLD OVERSEAS WERE GIVEN A DRAIN PLUG. 4. AROUND SEPTEMBER 2019, THE BRAKE BOOSTER ON MY LINCOLN MKX BEGAN FAILING, GETTING WORSE AND WORSE QUICKLY. IT GOT TO THE POINT THAT I HAD TO ALMOST STAND WITH TWO FEET ON THE BRAKE TO MAKE THE CAR STOP. I WENT DIRECTLY THERE (LESS THAN 1 MILE) IT WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE SERVICE WRITER TO BE A DEFECTIVE BRAKE BOOSTER (BRAKE PEDAL STIFF, THEN WHILE PRESSING THE PEDAL, IT WENT TO THE FLOOR, AND A WHISTLING NOISE WAS HEARD) I HAD THE BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED THE FOLLOWING DAY, HOWEVER THAT WAS NOT THE ONLY PROBLEM. STARTING A WEEK AGO, MY CAR MOVES & ROLLS WHEN PUT IN PARK ESPECIALLY ON UNEVEN PAVEMENT. SHOULD YOU LOSE POWER GOING 70 MPH IF THIS RECALL IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, IT WILL RESULT IN DEADLY CRASH. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN SEPTEMBER 29, 2013, WITH 3 MILES ON IT. IT CURRENTLY HAS JUST OVER 20,000 MILES ON IT. IN APRIL, THE SUNROOF FLIPPED BACK AND CHIPPED THE BACK GLASS OF THE PANORAMIC ROOF. CONSIDERING THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM REGARDING FORD AND THEIR SUNROOFS, MY INSURANCE REFUSES TO COVER IT. ENGINE SHUTDOWN IS ACCOMPANIED BY NO WARNINGS, ALARMS, OR INDICATIONS OTHER THEN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GOING DARK AND THE LOSS OF PROPULSION. THEN ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT SPEED (70 MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL), THE ENGINE STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING OR ALARM, RESULTING IN LOSS OF PROPULSION, POWER STEERING, AND POWER BRAKES. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER WITHOUT COLLISION. WAS ABLE TO RESTART ENGINE NORMALLY AND CONTINUE, BUT THE EVENT RECURRED A SECOND TIME 10 MINUTES LATER WITH THE SAME RESULTS. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ABOUT 80 MILES TO HOME WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. ENGINE SHUTDOWN IS ACCOMPANIED BY NO WARNINGS, ALARMS, OR INDICATIONS OTHER THEN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GOING DARK AND THE LOSS OF PROPULSION. FORTUNATELY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET TO RIGHT SHOULDER WITHOUT CAUSING A TRAFFIC INDECENT, THOUGH THIS WOULD BE DANGEROUS IN A HEAVY TRAFFIC ENVIRONMENT. SYMPTOMS COULD BE REPLICATED BY PRESSING ENGINE START/STOP BUTTON WHILE IN MOTION. THIS BUTTON IS TOO HIGH TO HIT WITH DRIVER'S KNEE AND LOCATED WHERE ACCIDENTAL TOUCH BY DRIVER'S ARM/HAND IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY. BOTH DRIVER AND FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SAY THIS BUTTON WAS NOT ACTIVATED DURING THE INCIDENT. NO FURTHER RECURRENCE IN NORMAL DRIVING ON THE FOLLOWING DAY. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT IN JUNE AND JULY, WHO SEALED AND RESEALED THE BUMPER WHICH HAD NO IMPROVEMENT AND THEN BY DIRECTION FROM LINCOLN CORPORATE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TWO OTHER DEALERSHIPS WHO REPEATED THE ORIGINAL REPAIRS AND HAVE YET TO FIX THE PROBLEM. LINCOLN OFFERED ME AN X PLAN DISCOUNT TO PURCHASE A NEW FORD OR LINCOLN MODEL BUT STATED THAT AT THIS POINT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL REPAIRS FOR THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE CAN NOT BE DRIVEN FOR LONG DISTANCES WITHOUT PASSENGERS AND THE DRIVER EXPERIENCING HEADACHES, BURNING EYES, NAUSEA, AND DISORIENTATION. THE SMELL IS NOTICEABLE DURING HARD ACCELARATION, HOWEVER, SYMPTOMS DEVELOP WITHIN THIRTY MINUTES OF DRIVING WITH THE A.C. ON AND OFF CAUSING ME TO BELIEVE FUMES ARE ENTERING THE CABIN DURING ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS BUT ONLY NOTICE THE ODOR DURING HARD ACCELERATION. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE AS LINCOLN AS WELL AS THE SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS STATED THERE IS NO FIX BUT THEIR ENGINEERS ARE LOOKING INTO IT. IN 2017 WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, A WARNING LIGHT APPEARED (LOW OIL ENGIN PRESSURE) AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND REPLACED IT. ABOUT A WEEK LATER, ENGIN LIGHT APPEARED AND ONE MONTH LATER RECEIVED SAME LOW OIL PRESSURE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED, CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP.
I PURCHASED A 2013 LINCOLN MKX IN APRIL 2015; DEALER SAID THEY INSTALLED 4 NEW MICHELIN GREEN-X TIRES, LATITUDE TOUR 245/60 R18, DOT AP4A 005X, AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE RATED AT 90,000 MILES I RECENTLY FELT A VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING AT 55-60 MPH SO I CHECKED THE TIRES VISUALLY AND FOUND WHAT LOOKED LIKE LITTLE JIGSAW SHAPED PIECES OF TREAD THAT YOU COULD ACTUALLY LIFT WITH A TOUCH OF YOUR FINGER!! I CALLED THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR (& TIRES) AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD TOW IT TO THEIR SERVICE FACILITY. I DECIDED TO DRIVE IT THERE, AND BY THE TIME I ARRIVED (ABOUT 40-45 MILES) ALL THOSE FLAPS OF RUBBER WERE GONE!! THEY HAD COME OFF AND LEFT GAPING HOLES WHERE THE TREAD USED TO BE, ALL OVER THE FRONT TIRES. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE'D NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT AND CALLED OTHER MECHANICS AND SERVICE PERSONNEL; THEY WERE ALL CURIOUS AS WELL. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES WITH MORE MICHELINS, THEN MY SON TOLD ME THE TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. IT DOESN'T SEEM THAT MICHELIN IS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER'S SAFETY, AS THIS WEBSITE DOESN'T LIST MY TIRES AS BEING RECALLED. THE DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME ABOUT $1000 FOR THE NEW TIRES, BUT I'M VERY WORRIED THESE TIRES ARE ALSO DEFECTIVE!! I THINK MICHELIN OR THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD REPLACE THE TIRES FOR FREE, WITH SOMETHING ELSE THAT IS NOT DEFECTIVE! ON TUESDAY 10/3/2017 AROUND 5:35 PM WE WERE DRIVING THE 2013 MKX ON CALLAGHAN ROAD UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND STOPPED BEHIND ANOTHER CAR WAITING FOR THE ONE LANE TRAFFIC TO MOVE FORWARD WHEN THE MKX UNEXPECTEDLY REVVED UP AND LUNGED TOWARDS THE REAR OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF US. WE IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZED THIS AS SUA SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE DRIVER HAD TO APPLY ADDITIONAL PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES TO HOLD THE CAR BACK.

THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE LOW ENGINE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO COAST THE CAR TO THE RIGHT LANE. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALER. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THE COMPUTER HAD NO HISTORY OF THE ERROR MESSAAGE. VERY TROUBLING. I DRIVE THE FREEWAY TO WORK DURING EARLY MORNING HOURS. IF THIS HAD OCCURRED ON THE FREEWAY, THE CAR WOULD'VE BEEN AN EASY TARGET FOR TRAFFIC BEHIND ME.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE 2014. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I LIVED IN OHIO ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THE DOOR AJAR WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD AS WELL AS THE DOME LIGHT WHILE I'M DRIVING STAYS ON STATING THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR WHICH KEEPS THE DOORS FROM LOCKING AND THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS ALSO OCCURS WHILE IT'S PARK AND IT SOMETIMES COMES ON BY ITSELF WHICH CAUSES THE ALARM TO GO OFF. THE DEALERSHIPS ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE ON THESE VEHICLES AND ARE WAITING FOR FORD/LINCOLN TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION.
WHEN YOU PUT THE GEAR SHIFT IN PARK AND TURN THE SUV OFF, THE WARNING LIGHT WILL COME ON THE DASHBOARD STATING THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK. YOU HAVE TO EITHER RESTART THE SUV AND TAKE IT OUT OF PARK A FEW TIMES OR DO NOT RESTART AND HIT THE BUTTON ON THE SHIFTER A FEW TIMES TO GET THE LIGHT TO TURN OFF. THIS IS A REOCCURRING ISSUE THAT HAS OCCURRED SINCE 2015.
LINCOLN MKX 2013 STALLS, THE WRENCH DISPLAYS, AND SLOWS DOWN. THAN YOU HAVE STOP AND RESTART CAR. SO FAR THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 5 TIMES IN ONE YEAR, MORE IN THE RECENT WEEKS. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN 2013 AND 3 OF 4 DOOR SENSORS HAVE MALFUNCTIONED. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON SO MY DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS CONCERN AS I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AS PASSENGERS, ALSO GOD FORBID I AM IN A SITUATION WHERE I NEED TO LOCK MYSELF IN MY CAR FOR SOME REASON; I AM SCREWED! THE ALARM CONSTANTLY GOES OFF IF I LOCK/ARM THE ALARM OR AND LOCK DOORS BECAUSE OF THE DOOR SENSORS. THE DOME LIGHT ILLUMINATES AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING, VERY ANNOYING WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE IN MY OPINION. WHEN THE FIRST SENSOR STARTED ACTING UP I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY QUOTED ME $420! AS IT STANDS RIGHT NOW I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OVER $1200 TO REPAIR FAULTY DOOR SENSORS ON A VEHICLE THAT IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD. I WAS SIMPLY TOLD BY THE FORD DEALER THAT I SHOULD HAVE PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THAT THE ISSUE IS NOT COVERED UNDER A RECALL BECAUSE IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. AS A PARENT WITH TWO YOUNG CHILDREN I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THAT NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK MY DOORS WHILE DRIVING IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING ONLINE MANY FORD AND LINCOLN MODEL CARS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. SOMEONE NEEDS TO HOLD FORD/LINCOLN ACCOUNTABLE AND MAKE THEM FIX THIS ISSUE AT NO CHARGE TO THE CONSUMER. I ALREADY PAID THEM A HEFTY PRICE TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE LESS THAN 5 YEARS AGO. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON ALL OF THESE MECHANISMS SHOULD BE FAILING OR ALREADY FAILED IN SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK, RESULTING IN DEATH OF DRIVER. DRIVER HIT A TREE HEAD ON THE SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK CAUSING DRIVER TO COME UP HIT THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WITH BACK OF HEAD THEN LAND ON TOP OF STEERING WHEEL.

DOORS FAIL TO LATCH, WITH SEVERAL REPORTS INDICATING THAT THE 'DOOR AJAR' WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH APPEARED AND CABIN LIGHTS STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING AND STAYS ON AFTER CLOSING DOORS! THE ONLY WAY TO TURN THEM OFF IS TO UNPLUG BATTERY! THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THAT I HAVE BEEN REPAIRING DIFFERENT DOORS LATCH AND I AM SURPRISED WHY CAR SAFETY RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED YET ON THESE MODELS. IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR AND IT'S A CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHEN DRIVING NIGHT TIME WITH CABIN LIGHT ON AND AJAR WARNING SYSTEM IS OFF!!!! I PURCHASED MY LINCOLN MKX 2013 NEW FROM SUTTON FORD. THE TIRES ON THE CAR AT THE TIME WERE PIRELLI SCORPION TIRES. WITHIN LESS THAN YEAR FROM TIRE EXPLODED FROM THE SIDE WALL WHILE ON MY WAY TO WORK. NO ONE WAS HURT. HOWEVER, I HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRE. LESS THAN A MONTH LATER TWO OTHER TIRES BEGAN TO LEAK WITH REPORT INITIALLY THAT IT WAS THE 20" CHROME ALLOY WHEEL WHICH WAS MALFUNCTIONING. THE REMAINING FOUR TIRES AND WHEELS WERE REPLACED LESS THAN A YEAR LATER I WAS CALLED A DEALER CLOSE TO WORK WHERE I HAD TAKEN THE CAR FOR OIL CHANGE AND TO REPORT RUMBLING WHEN I WAS DRIVING. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THAT DEALERSHIP STATING THE CAR WAS "UNSAFE TO DRIVE" THERE ISSUE WITH ESSENTIALLY ALL THE TIRES WITH SIDE WALL RUPTURE IMPENDING ON ONE AND REMAINING THREE WITH SEVERE COMPROMISE. THESE TIRES WERE LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL FACILITY FOR REPAIR. MY EXTENDED WARRANTLY ONLY PAID FOR 75 DOLLARS OF THE TOW. WHICH WAS 100 DOLLARS FOR ME. I HAD FOUR NEW GOODYEAR TIRES PUT ON THE CAR AND DROVE HOME THAT EVENING . THE NEXT MORNING WE AWOKE TO FIND TWO OF THE TIRES WERE FLAT. I HAD TO HAVE A SECOND TOW TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND THETECHNICIAN THERE REPORTED A DEFECT WITHIN MY WHEELS.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.

VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT, AT TIMES, REMAINS ON WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED WHICH AFFECTS SEVERAL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SUCH AS, AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS, ALARM SYSTEM, COURTESY LIGHTS AND OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. THE DOOR HAS TO BE SLAMMED SHUT SEVERAL TIMES TO MAKE THE WARNING LIGHT GO OFF AND MAKE THE INOPERABLE COMPONENTS OPERABLE. THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY DOOR LOCK SWITCH WHICH IS QUITE COMMON IN SEVERAL FORD/LINCOLN VEHICLES. A RECALL OF THESE DOOR LOCK SWITCHES SHOULD BE ENTERTAINED.
WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED, THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON AND THE DOORS NEVER LOCK WHILE DRIVING. ALSO THE DOOR CAN BE CLOSED AND THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL NOT BE ON BUT AT ANY MOMENT THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL COME ON CAUSING THE FACTORY ALARM TO GO OFF AT ANY TIME, DAY OR NIGHT. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE SINCE 2013.

THIS HAS BEEN A CONTINUOUS ISSUE WHEN USING THE CRUISE CONTROL AT ANY SPEED. WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ON, AND THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING ON A DOWNHILL SLOPE, THERE IS A NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHILE IT IS TRYING TO MAINTAIN THE SPEED. THE SOUND IS SOMETHING LIKE A HUMMING/GRINDING/TICKING NOISE. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE TECHNICIANS GO FOR A DRIVE WITH ME TO TRY DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AND THEY HAVE ALL SAID THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE. HOWEVER, TO DATE, THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT AND THE LAST TECHNICIAN SAID IT MUST BE A NORMAL NOISE, EVEN THOUGH NO OTHER LINCOLN I HAVE TEST DROVE CAN RECREATE THE NOISE.
WENT FOR A WALK WITH 4 YEAR OLD SON AT THE MOUNTAIN, CAME BACK TO A MELTED MKX. FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME. WITH IN A SPAN OF AN HOUR FIFTEEN MINUTES, THE VEHICLE CAB HAD MELTED AND COOLED TO TOUCH. WE BARELY ESCAPED POSSIBLE DEATH HAD I BEEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. *TR
THE ELECTRONIC KEYS FOR THE CAR ARE WAY TOO SENSITIVE. THEY CAN BE IN A PURSE OR BACKPACK AND THE BUTTONS CAN BE PRESSED DOWN. THEY ARE ALSO EASILY PRESSED DOWN IF YOU HAVE THEM IN YOUR POCKET WITH ANOTHER ITEM. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WE HAVE WALKED OUT TO OUR CAR AND HAD THE WINDOWS ALL DOWN, THE SUN ROOF OPEN AND OR THE TAILGATE UP. WE FREQUENTLY WILL SET OFF THE ALARM. ONE TIME IT HAD STARTED RAINING HEAVILY AND THE WINDOWS HAD GOTTEN ROLLED DOWN. CONSEQUENTLY THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR WAS SOAKED. WE HAVE HAD OTHER CARS THAT HAD SIMILAR KEYS BUT HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. *TR

ALL INCIDENTS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TO YOU, LINCOLN SERVICE COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS RELATING TO ALL THE INCIDENTS EXCEPT TO REPLACE THE FAULTY WINDSHIELD WIPER ASSEMBLY ON 2-06-14. *TR

DEALER REPLACED COMPUTER MODULE THEY IDENTIFIED AS CONTROLLING THIS FUNCTION. NO CHANGE IN CONDITION. PROBLEM ESCALATED TO FORD TECH PEOPLE. A MONTH AGO, THE RADIO FUNCTIONS FAILED. NEAR THE END OF MY DAILY HOUR LONG COMMUTE HOME I WAS COMING UP TO A STOP SIGN, AS I WAS DECELERATING UP TO THE STOP SIGN, THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON, THE STEERING SEIZE UP, THE ACCELERATOR FAILED TO FUNCTION, AND THE BRAKING WAS SLUGGISH. I WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO STEER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, PRESSED THE POWER BUTTON TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THE CAR TURNED OFF. I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AS NORMAL AND ALL SYSTEMS APPEARED TO FUNCTION AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY INFORMED ME THE COMPUTER DID NOT REGISTER ANY FAULTS, ERRORS, OR ISSUES. THIS IS CONCERNING, BECAUSE IF THIS PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND I WERE TO LOSE ACCELERATION AND STEERING CONTROL, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TYPE THIS REPORT. THE DEALER SERVICE TECHNICIANS ARE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE ISSUE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT RECORDED. *TR

THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS A FAULTY BLIB MODULE AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. FOR A TWO MONTH OLD CAR, THERE SEEM TO BE AN ABNORMAL NUMBER OF FAULTY COMPONENTS. THIS COULD POSE A SAFETY HAZARD IF PEOPLE RELY ON THE BLIND SPOT AND CROSS TRAFFIC SENSORS TO ALERT THEM OF CLOSE CARS OR ON COMING CARS WHILE REVERSING. *TR

I WAS UTILIZING THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM AT THE TIME AND WAS FORCED TO STOP, RE-ENTER THE DETAILS OF THE LOCATION I WAS INTENDING TO VISIT. THE SYNC SYSTEM SHOULD NEVER JUST RESTART ITSELF WITHOUT WARNING A DRIVER. I AM CONCERNED THERE IS A MORE SEVERE PROBLEM WITH THE MAIN CONTROL SYSTEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE AS THREE OTHER ISSUES HAPPENED WITHIN A WEEK OF EACH OTHER. 1.
