RIGHT REAR FRAME RUSTED THROUGH COMPLETELY STABLIZER RUSTED OFF FRAME
MY STEERING COLUMN DOESN'T LOCK WHEN I TURN OFF THE ENGINE. IT HAS ALSO STARTED FAILING TO START BUT WHEN WE JUMPSTART IT IT RESPONDS IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE LEARNED; THAT SOMETIMES IF I ROCK IT OR PUSH IT A FEW FEET IT WILL START RIGHT UP TOO. IT ACTS ALMOST LIKE A VAPOR LOCK BECAUSE THE ENGINE IS WARM AND JUST DOESN'T START AFTER HAVING SET FOR AN HOUR. ALMOST LIKE A SHORT OR DISCONNECT. ADDITIONALLY THE BLOWER MOTOR SEEMS TO HAVE DIED TOO. HEAT/AC WORKS, JUST DOESN'T DISTRIBUTE. I'M WONDERING IF THERE'S A RECALL ON EITHER OF THESE SINCE THEY SEEM TO BE ELECTRICAL OR WIRING HARNESS ISSUES.
REAR FRAME RUST/ROT IS INCREDIBLY EXCESSIVE. NOTICED TODAY WHILE CHECKING TIRE PRESSURE. ENTIRE UNDERSIDE OF FRAME IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. REAR CROSS MEMBER IN TERRIBLE SHAPE. VISIBLE DETERIORATION HAPPENED QUICKLY. PURCHASING THE CAR IN 2012 THERE WAS NO SIGN OF ROT ON THE FRAME. NOW I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR, OR SELLING IT TO SOMEONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER. AS A MECHANICAL ENGINEER, THE INTEGRITY OF THE SQUARE TUBE FRAME IS COMPROMISED TO THE POINT THAT SAFETY IN A REAR END COLLISION IS IN QUESTION, ANY KIND OF TRAILER LOAD WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE AND UNSAFE. REALLY A DANGER TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC BECAUSE IT COULD FAIL AT ANY TIME. *TR

SUDDENLY, ANTI-FREEZE SMOKE CAME OUT OF THE DASHBOARD VENTS, THEN, HOT SCALDING ANTI-FREEZE BEGAN FALLING ON MY RIGHT FOOT AS IT WAS ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. AT THE SAME TIME, THE FRONT-SEAT PASSENGER WAS ALSO GETTING SCALDED. IN MY CASE, I SUSTAINED A 1ST TO 2ND DEGREE BURN ON MY RIGHT SMALL (PINKY) TOE, WHICH WAS BLISTERED. IT WAS FORTUNATE THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF AT THE MONMOUTH SERVICE AREA AT MILEPOST 100 IN WALL, NJ. MY VIEW IS THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE CAUSED BY DESIGN OVERSIGHT, NOT MERELY A MAINTENANCE ISSUE ON A OLD CAR. FOR EXAMPLE, IF A HEATER CORE BREAKS AND DOES NOT HEAT, THAT IS A MAINTENANCE PROBLEM. FUEL TANK IS LEAKING, WIDESPREAD PROBLEM, KIA WILL ONLY REPLACE TANK IF THE LEAK IS ON THE VERY BOTTOM OF TANK. THEY ARE SAYING MINE IS LEAKING AT THE SEAM. I VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM NO MATTER WHERE THE TANK IS LEAKING. I ONLY HOPE NOONE HAS A FIRE BECAUSE OF IT. I HAVE TO PAY THE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE BILL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 89,835.
SWAY BAR HAD BROKEN OFF FROM HALF OF THE FRAME.IT WAS FOUND THE FRAME HAS ROTTED MOST OF THE WAY THROUGH IN THE BACKEND OF VEHICLE ON BOTH SIDES. I WAS TOLD THE BACK END COULD BREAK OFF FROM VEHICLE AT ANY MOMENT.

ON 2 DECEMBER THE ABS SYSTEM SUDDENLY BECAME OPERATIONAL, CAUSING THE "FEEL" OF THE PEDAL TO CHANGE, STARTLING THE DRIVER, WHO WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BRAKING. I CHECKED THE INTERNET AND THE 1998 SPORTAGES HAD A RECALL FOR A C123 AND C124 CABLE WHICH BECAME LOOSE AND COULD CAUSE A CRASH OR US OF MY SUV. I THAN CALLED THE NHTSA AND TALKED TO KIM SHE SAID FILE A COMPLAINT. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE FOR LONG DISTANCES MORE THE 5 MILES WITHOUT SOMETHING HAPPENING TO CAUSE ME OR SOMEONE ELSE INJURY. WIGGLING THE APPROPRIATE CONNECTOR RESTORES CONTINUITY TEMPORARILY BUT IT WILL RECUR AGAIN SHORTLY WITHIN A DAY OR TWO OF OPERATING THE VEHICLE. *JB
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO START VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT START. SHE THEN SMELLED A STRONG GAS ODOR. CONSUMER LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND DISCOVERED THAT THE GAS LINE POPPED OFF, AND GAS WAS SPILLING ALL OVER THE ENGINE.. SHE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT COULD HAD CAUSED THE LEAK. IN ORDER TO GET TO THE GAS LINE CONSUMER WOULD HAVE TO GO UNDER THE HOOD, AND NO ONE COULD GET UNDER THE HOOD. SO THE PROBLEM WAS UNEXPLAINABLE. *AK
AFTER TURNING A CORNER AND ATTEMPTING TO PARK, THE CONSUMER FELT THAT THE WHEEL WAS SLIPPING. AFTER GOING INTO A STORE AND COMING BACK OUT, THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WHEEL BECAME DISCONNECTED. DEALER EXAMINED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT THE TIE RODS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. *AK THE LEFT FRONT ROD WAS REPLACED. *SC *JB

SUNDAY, 11-02-2003, WHILE DRIVING ON MAIN ST IN MESA, ARIZONA, OUR 1998 KIA SPORTAGE'S GEARSHIFT LEVER SNAPPED OFF IN MY HAND. I WAS SHIFTING FROM SECOND TO THIRD GEAR AT THE TIME. THE BREAK WAS ABOUT 1 1/2 INCHES FROM FLOOR LEVEL, DOWN INSIDE THE CONSOL. I WAS LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE MEDIAN WITHOUT CRASHING. I AM REGISTERING A COMPLAINT AGAINST KIA MOTORS, INC. BECAUSE OF THE TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF PROBLEMS I HAVE BEEN HAVING WITH MY VEHICLE. I PURCHASED A 1998 KIA SPORTAGE ON JANUARY 17, 2000 AND IT HAD ABOUT 2600 MILES ON IT. ABOUT 2 MONTHS LATER AT 6683 MILES, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND SINCE I WAS READY FOR AN OIL CHANGE ANYWAY, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO GET IT CHECKED OUT. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE IS STILL NEW AND IN ITS "BREAKING-IN" STAGE, THE LIGHT WILL GO OFF IN A FEW DAYS. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE LIGHT DID GO OFF BUT THE VEHICLE JUST DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT. A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND I WAS AGAIN ADVISED THE DEALER THAT IT WILL GO OFF BY ITSELF, THIS TIME I DIDN'T TAKE THEIR WORD AND INSISTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE CHECKED OUT. THE DEALER THEN FOUND THAT A SENSOR WAS OUT. THE REPLACED THE SENSOR AND THE LIGHT WENT OUT. A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND I ALSO RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR A CATALYTIC CONVERTER CONCERN. SO I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR BOTH PROBLEMS AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL AND BOTH WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THEY WEREN'T. THE SAME DAY I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER, WHILE DRIVING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I IMMEDIATELY MADE A U-TURN WENT BACK INTO THE SERVICE DRIVE. I WAS ADVISED THAT THE SENSOR WAS OUT AGAIN AND THE PART AS NOT IN. I WAITED FOR ABOUT 4 WEEKS UNTIL THE PART CAME IN ALL WHILE DRIVING WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT ON. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SENSOR AGAIN AND OF COURSE, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. AT THIS TIME, I WAS ABOUT TO GO INSANE ABOUT THIS NAGGING PROBLEM THAT EITHER THE DEALER COULD NOT FIX OR THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE FIXED. I DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR BECAUSE I HAD JUST STARTED A NEW JOB AND COULD NOT AFFORD TO TAKE TIME OFF OF WORK TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER OR INCUR ANYMORE RENTAL COSTS. I THEN CHECKED THE NHTSA WEBSITE FOR RECALLS OR SER*
CONTINUATION OF COMPLAINT.... I THEN CHECKED THE NHTSA WEBSITE FOR RECALLS OR SERVICE CAMPAIGNS AND FOUND 3 RECALLS THAT FIT IN MY VIN RANGE. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED KIA'S 800 NUMBER AND ASKED IF MY VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED AND WAS PROMPTLY TOLD NO. I BELIEVED THIS RESPONSE SINCE IT WAS COMING DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND NOT THE DEALER. ABOUT 2 MONTHS LATER, I RECEIVED A DISTURBING CALL FROM A REPRESENTATIVE FROM KIA CONSUMER AFFAIRS TELLING ME TO IMMEDIATELY STOP DRIVING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE SAME 3 RECALLS I SAW ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND CALLED TO INQUIRE ABOUT INCLUDED MY VEHICLE. THE RECALLS WERE: BRAKE LINE RECALL-THE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT COUPLING CAN CONTACT A HYDRAULIC BRAKE PIPE CAUSING FLUID LEAKAGE. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE A LOSS OF REAR BRAKE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. ELECTRICAL WIRING- THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE C123 AND C124 CONNECTORS CAN BE PUT UNDER TENSION BY MOVEMENT OF THE ENGINE, THUS PULLING THE WIRES AND CONNECTORS, LOOSENING THEM AND RESULTING IN A LOSS OF CIRCUIT CONTINUITY. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE ENGINE STALLING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. THE THIRD RECALL WAS AN OBD LABEL. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT KIA PUT MY FAMILY AND ME IN SO MUCH DANGER BY TELLING ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED. THE KIA REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT KIA WOULD PROVIDE ME WITH A LOANER VEHICLE. SINCE I KNEW THAT I COULD POSSIBLE DIE BY CONTINUING TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE, I TOOK A DAY OFF OF WORK AND TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DLR. BY THIS TIME, I HAD KEPT A TIMETABLE AND LOG OF EVERYTHING THAT HAD GONE WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND PRESENTED IT TO THE DEALER. THE LIST INCLUDED, OF COURSE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, HESITATION ON ACCELERATION, VEHICLE SHAKES SEVERELY WHEN THE WHEEL IS TURNED, THE IDLE SURGES WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, THE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER HAD COME OFF OF THE VEHICLE, THE RADIO HAD STARTED TO STATIC AND TURN ON LOUD EVEN WHEN IT WAS TURNED OFF, THE VOLUME KNOBS ON THE RADIO WORKED INTERMITTENTLY, THE WINDOWS ROLLED UP AND DOWN
CONTINUATION PART 3...VERY SLOWLY, THERE WAS A TERRIBLE CRUNCHING OR GRINDING METAL ON METAL NOISE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SLOWED DOWN (NOT THE BRAKES), THE WAS A HORRIBLE GROAN SOUND WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES ON THE FREEWAY, THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE HUBS ON THE VEHICLE, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AT ANY GIVEN TIME. WHEN I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP FROM THE DEALER AFTER BEING OUT OF SERVICE FOR 8 CONSECUTIVE DAYS, THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY DUPLICATED EACH AND EVERY CONCERN AND ADDRESSED THEM ALL. EXACTLY 1 WEEK LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THE VEHICLE DIED ON ME AT THE MALL. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND HAD TO GET THE BATTERY BOOSTED SINCE SOMETHING THAT THE DEALER DID ELECTRICALLY WAS IMPROPER. I MADE IT BACK HOME BUT WAS UNSURE WHETHER OR NOT I COULD MAKE IT TO WORK THE NEXT DAY WITH A WEAL BATTERY. SURE ENOUGH, THE VEHICLE DID NOT START IN THE MORNING. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALER, AND THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK TO MY HOUSE TO PICK UP THIS LEMON. AFTER ANOTHER 5 DAYS OUT OF SERVICE, I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP AND WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A BAD ENGINE HARNESS IN THE VEHICLE. EXACTLY 2 DAYS LATER, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON, THE VEHICLE STARTED LEAKING OIL, THE WINDOWS STARTED MOVING SLOW AGAIN, THE REAR END OF MY VEHICLE STARTED RATTLING, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE HAD THE METAL ON METAL NOISE AGAIN, THE GROAN NOISE HAD COME BACK, THE VEHICLE HAD LOST POWER GOING UP THE SLIGHTEST INCLINE. FEELING LIKE THERE WAS NO OTHER OPTION AVAILABLE TO ME, I SENT KIA A LETTER ASKING FOR A BUYBACK AS WELL AS ALL OF MY REPAIR INVOICES AND ALL THEY DID WAS OFF TO PAY ONE OF MY CAR NOTES AND TOLD ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. I DECLINED THEIR OFFER TO PAY 1 CAR NOTE AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT STAYED FOR 16 CONSECUTIVE DAYS. AGAIN, ALL CONCERNS WERE DUPLICATED AND ADDRESSED. AFTER PICKING UP THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED THAT NONE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS WERE COMING ON AS THEY USUALLY DID WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE. *AK

I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER 2 DAYS LATER AND FOUND THAT THE TECHNICIAN OR "SOMEONE" DISCONNECTED MY INSTRUMENT PANEL IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP THE ENGINE LIGHT FROM COMING ON AND ME COMING BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER 2 DAYS AND SO-CALLED FIXED THE PROBLEM. AS YOU KNOW BY NOW, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. BY THIS TIME, I HAD FILED WITH BBB AND BEGGED KIA TO TAKE THIS PROBLEM BACK. AT AN ARBITRATION HEARING, THE KIA REPRESENTATIVE DOWNPLAYED ALL OF MY RETURN TRIPS TO THE DEALER BY STATING THAT THE DEALER DID NOT REPORT ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS TO THEM AND THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF WHAT WAS GOING ON. ALL OF THAT WAS A LIE SINCE KIA WAS NOTIFIED BY CERTIFIED LETTER OF THE PROBLEMS AND RETURN TRIPS. WELL, THE ARBITRATOR SIDED WITH KIA AND STATED THAT EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE PRESUMABLY MET THE CRITERIA FOR LEMON LAW, SHE FELT THAT THE DEALER SHOULD GET ONE MORE CHANCE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. SINCE I DID NOT LIKE THE ARBITRATORS DECISION, I UTILIZED ONE OF THE OTHER OPTIONS SHE OFFERED AND ACTED AS IF THE HEARING NEVER HAPPENED. I DROVE WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS UNTIL THINGS GOT WORSE. THE REAR END STARTED JINGLING LOUDER THAN EVER, THE FRONT END WAS GRINDING LIKE NEVER BEFORE, THE VEHICLE WOULD JUST TAKE OFF ON IT'S OWN, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD BECOME STUCK IN ONE GEAR OR ANOTHER WITHOUT SHIFTING, THE WINDOWS WERE SLOW AGAIN, AND THE VEHICLE WAS SHAKING LIKE A LEAF. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY KEPT IT FOR ANOTHER 7 CONSECUTIVE DAYS AND WHEN I PICKED MY VEHICLE UP, THERE WAS A HIDEOUS DENT AND SCRATCH ON MY RIGHT FRONT FENDER AS IF A CINDER BLOCK HAD FELL ON IT. THE DEALER TRIED TO RELEASE THE VEHICLE TO ME THAT WAY BUT I REFUSED. THE KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER 3 DAYS WHILE THEY KNOCKED OUT THE DENT AND REPAINTED THE FENDER. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER 3 DAYS WHILE THEY KNOCKED OUT THE DENT AND REPAINTED THE.

I HAVE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE BACK FOR A MONTH NOW AND EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING ALL OVER AGAIN. I AM NOW AT 35,150 MILES AND FEAR THAT I WILL HAVE TO INCUR ALL OF THESE CHARGES FOR THE PROBLEMS THAT ARE NOW BACK AND DO NOT FEEL THAT THIS IS RIGHT. ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS STARTED HAPPENING 2 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND HAVE NOT BEEN CORRECTED IN THE 19 MONTHS I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE. I KNOW THAT YOU RECEIVE SEVERAL OF THESE TYPES OF COMPLAINTS FROM THE AUTOMOTIVE WORLD AS WELL AS OTHER FIELDS BUT I THINK THAT IF ENOUGH PEOPLE CAME OUT AND SPOKE ABOUT WHAT PROBLEMS THEY ARE HAVING WITH THERE VEHICLES, MAYBE SOMETHING WILL BE DONE ABOUT IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE HAD 3 RADIATORS IN THIS VEHICLE AND THE COOLANT SMELL STILL IS STRONG. DEALER IS NOW TRYING TO TELL ME THIS WAS A BRAKE PROBLEM, IT IS NOT A BRAKE PROBLEM, FRONT BRAKES HAD JUST BEEN REPLACED BY AN AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR ESTABLISHMENT USING CERTIFIED PARTS FROM THE KIA DEALER. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING THE SOUND OF AIR IS COMING IN MAKING ME THINK A WINDOW IS DOWN , BUT NO WINDOWS ARE DOWN. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE JAN OF 1999, IT HAD 18,000 MILES. APRROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE I NOTICED THE FRONT HUBS AND RIMS LINED WITH GREASE AND OIL. I INFORMED BOTH THE DEALER I PURCHASED IT FROM, AND THE KIA SERVICE DEPARTMENT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICAL. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT TAKE CARE OF IT. FROM THAT POINT ON I HAVE BEEN HAVING SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS KIA. I TOOK THE VEHICAL IN AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT THE CALIPERS, ROTORS, AND DRUMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PROBLEM STARTED TO WEAR OUT THE PADS OF ALL THESE PARTS, AND NOW IS GRINDING THEM AWAY. THIS PROBLEM IS A DEFECT IN THE PARTS USED BY THE MANUFACTURE AND THEY SHOULD BUY MY KIA BACK FROM ME, AND OR REPAIR IT TO NEW CONDITION. DEALER SERVICE CENTER FOUND A CELL IN THE BATTERY HAD FAILED & REPLACED THE BATTERY. VEHICLE FAILED AGAIN, 4 WEEKS LATER, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHEN THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS THOROUGHLY CHECKED BY SERVICE MANAGER & FOUND NO PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START, AGAIN, 3 DAY LATER & DID NOT RESPOND TO A JUMP START. THE DEALERSHIP IS CURRENTLY INSPECTING VEHICLE, I HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, I AM NOT RECEIVING ANY COOPERATION. A NUMBER OF PEOPLE HAVE MENTIONED TO ME A CONSUMER REPORT THAT WAS REPORTED BY A LOCAL NEWS STATION, THEY DO NOT RECALL THE COMPLETE DETAILS BUT DO HAVE A RECOGNITION OF THE REPORT. WE HAD THIS CHECKED BY THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GEAR SHIFTING MECHANISM. I BEG TO DIFFER BECAUSE I DRIVE THAT CAR EVERY DAY AND I'VE DRIVEN MANY MANUAL SHIFT TRANSMISSIONS CARS AND I BELIEVE THAT AFTER DRIVING FOR SOMETIME (I.E., ONE TO TWO HOURS) THE TRANSMISSION HEATS UP AND CAUSES PROBLEMS WITH GEAR SELECTION.

THE CUSTOMER STATED THAT THERE WAS A TICKING NOISE AT ENGINE WHEN HOT OR COLD, THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. DOME LIGHT SCREW FELL OFF, DEALER FOUND LOOSE GROUND AT LIGHT, THE GROUND WAS RESECURED AND A NEW SCREW WAS INSTALLED. *YH

DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. *AK VEHICLE IDLED LOW, WHEN FIRST STARTED IN THE AM VEHICLE HAD NO POWER AND STUMBLED UNTIL IT WARMED UP, DEALER STATED THE IAC WOULD NOT OPEN, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED DUE TO THE TPS SENSOR BEING OUT OF SPECIFICATIONS. TAIL LIGHT LENS CRACKED AND THE DASH LIGHT DIMMER SWITCH FELL IN THE DASH. VEHICLE STALLED DUE TO IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUGS, VEHICLE BACKFIRED AND HESITATED, DEALER REROUTED THE WIRING HARNESS AND REPAIRED THE PIN CONNECTORS. VEHICLE OVERHEATED DUE TO A CRACK IN THE CYLINDER HEAD. PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR RATTLED WHEN CLOSING AND THE WINDOW WAS DOWN, DEALER STATED THIS WAS NORMAL. CARPET ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR WOULD NOT LIE FLAT. REAR HATCH WOULD NOT POP AFTER BEING UNLOCKED, THERE WAS AN INTERNAL LEAK FROM THE SEAL. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE A/C LEAKED ON THE PASSENGER FLOORBOARD, DEALER REPLACED THE EVAPORATOR. *SLC
WHEN TRAVELING 50 TO 55 MPH CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION, HITTING A GAURDRAIL. VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER, AND THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF BOTH DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS. ALSO, STATES THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
