Corrosion formed on the rear frame and a recall was issued for Honda Ridgelines. The Checkered Flag Honda dealership tested our Ridgeline, and it failed the punch test regarding corrosion. The fuel tank, which is mounted to the rear frame, can become unsecured as the rear frame deteriorates from corrosion. An unsecured fuel tank could have a fuel leak and an increased risk of fire. The dealership confiscated the Ridgeline and Honda manufacturer still has not issued a buyback or any compensation.

After driving through Lake Alfred and getting on I-4 heading NE bound toward Orlando, I noticed a very loud noise. I drove to the next exit a few miles down the road (the car seemed to handle fine), Exit 55 at Davenport FL. On the exit ramp, I began to smell burning rubber. After pulling over into the grass off of the exit ramp (to clear traffic) and coming to a complete stop - I smelt Gasoline. I killed the ignition and looked under the vehicle (see attachments). I immediately called 911 to get a fire truck - as to my surprise - I had a fuel leak right next to dragging metal (how this didn't ignite is beyond me - but I am grateful it did NOT ignite!). First fire truck arrived about 10min after calling 911and they requested a second truck be rolled out also. I did not know what was going on. Under the guidance of the Fire fighters - I called my insurance company to organize a Tow truck. I assumed something had caused undercarriage damage (although I did not distinctly recall hitting anything). State Farm organized to Tow it to their authorized repair station - who then advise they will not be repairing the vehicle due to an open Safety Recall. State Farm then had the vehicle towed to the nearest Honda Dealer in Winter Haven to investigate. I NEVER received a Recall Notice! I have had this vehicle since 2020 and it has been registered and tagged in BOTH Kentucky and Florida. Even with this - I never received a Recall Notice!!! I called America Honda 9/6 at 9:49am & spoke with Jessica. I inquired as to why they did not send me a Recall Notice. She stated that they only had me listed as an owner of a 2003 Accord (which I purchased in 2023). For some reason they did not have my Honda Ridgeline showing me as the registered owner? I was very upset by this. I spoke with a David at Winter Haven Honda and he said that the Dealership has sent the Inspection photos to America Honda. I'm still awaiting resolution to this Safety Recall Investigation.

IT'S HARD TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL. IT'S ONLY EASY TO TURN WHEN I'M HITTING THE GAS. WHEN MY FOOT IS ON THE BREAK IT'S HARD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I CANNOT PARALLEL PARK BECAUSE I HAVE TO PRESS THE BREAK. AT THE HOSPITAL I AM NOT ALLOWED TO GET VALET PARKING BECAUSE THEY SAY MY VEHICLE IS TOO RISKY FOR THE OTHER VEHICLES BECAUSE THEY CANNOT PARK BECAUSE MY STEERING WHEEL IS TOO TIGHT TO TURN. I HAVE SICKLY KIDS AND IT'S SAD BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS RECOGNIZE MY VEHICLE AND WILL NOT VALET PARK MY CAR FOR THE EMERGENCY ROOM. I TOOK IT TO MANY MECHANICS THAT CLAIM THEY DON'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE POWER STEERING PHYSICALLY. NO ONE KNOWS WHY IT'S A TIGHT TURN.

WE JUST RECEIVED OUR TRUCK BACK WITH THE FIXED DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG AFTER HAVING A RENTAL FOR 3 MONTHS SINCE HONDA DID NOT HAVE REPLACEMENT PARTS YET. WE JUST RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE "EXPLODING" PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WHICH THEY ALSO DO NOT HAVE PARTS FOR. WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO USE OUR TRUCK FOR FEAR THAT THE AIRBAGS COULD HURT OUR SMALL CHILDREN OR OTHER PASSENGERS. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THE #S PROVIDED ON THE RECALL BUT HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET ANY RESPONSE FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS. AFTER 3 FAILED ATTEMPTS TO REACH HER I ATTEMPTED TO MOVE FORWARD ON MY OWN IN PICKING UP A RENTAL AND DROPPING IF MY TRUCK AT THE LOCAL DEALER RICK WOODSON HONDA. THE SUNROOF WAS OPEN IN TILT POSITION AND IT SHATTERED WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT A SPEED OF APPROX. 50 MPH. IT MADE A VERY LOUD SOUND. LOUD, LIKE A GUN SHOT SOUND. FORTUNATELY, IT DIDN'T MAKE ME SWERVE OFF THE ROAD OR INTO THE ONCOMING LANE (IF THERE HAD BEEN AN ONCOMING VEHICLE AT THE TIME, COULD HAVE CAUSED A COLLISION) IT WAS VERY STARTLING. I WAS SHOWERED WITH SPLINTERED GLASS. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES NEARBY AT THE TIME IT HAPPENED. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THE GLASS COLLIDED WITH ANYTHING TO MAKE IT BREAK. THERE WAS NO OBVIOUS REASON FOR THE GLASS TO SHATTER. THE CONCERN IS THAT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A DEFECT IN THE GLASS. CONDITIONS:THE TEMPERATURE THAT DAY WAS IN THE HIGH 80'S TO 90 DEGREES. I ALSO HAD THE REAR WINDOW OPENED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.

ONE DAY I WAS USING THE A/C AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. AFTER MY WORK SHIFT I TRIED TO KICK ON THE A/C SYSTEM AND NOTHING HAPPENS. THE SCREEN INDICATES THAT EVERYTHING IS WORKING, HOWEVER, EVEN WITH THE FAN DIAL ON FULL. NOTHING IS FLOWING THROUGH THE VENTS. I HAD THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TAKE A LOOK AND THEY TOLD ME THE HARNESS WAS FRIED AND THAT IT WOULD BE $900 TO FIX IT, WHEN MY CAR PAYMENT IS $600. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE IN 2006 AND 2007 MODELS AND RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR BOTH YEARS. I ASKED THEM WHY HAS THE PROBLEM NOT BEEN FIXED BEFORE THE 2008 MODELS WERE RELEASED. THEY TOLD ME TO ASK HONDA... THIS IS A COMPLETE AND UTTER DISAPPOINTMENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA RIDGELINE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DECELERATE, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS FULLY DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE VSA LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND REQUIRED FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
