This vehicle is another of many that is suffering from coolant intrusion due to Fords faulty design. This 2.0 has 68 thousand miles and needs a new engine. This has been a known problem for this engine between 2013 and 2019. We were sold a new car that would be reliable for years, it’s not. Now we may be out upwards of $10,000.00 for a car we just paid off a year ago.

Coolant intrusion into cylinder #2 in my 2.0L Ecoboost engine. This gives a rough engine start and a misfire code for cylinder #2 on cold starts. After warmup, the engine code is not active and misfire goes away when the coolant is burnt and sent through the exhaust. This also caused the car to overheat as the coolant was dropping to a low level. There was no indication of the low coolant level until the overheating.

I have a 2019 Ford Fusion hybrid titanium, and it is exhibiting issues of a recall that Ford has issued for my year making model. But not specifically for my Vin. The recall is for the A.P.I.M. module and is a software glitch that although leave the infotainment system with a black or blank screen or right after using the backup camera, the backup camera will stay on the screen for some time and it states on the recall that it is a safety concern due to being a distraction for the driver on top of that, it will not remember any device I pair to it via Bluetooth, it will not remember navigation presets or any destinations I previously routed to with the navigation system. Every time I turn my car on for some reason it starts the navigation system with the route to my parents address. Also sometimes the screen will be unresponsive and unusable untill next ignition cycle. It kills my 12v battery because the screen will stay on after vehicle is turned off. This happens every ignition cycle

This 2019 Ford Fusion (2.0L EcoBoost, 6F35 transmission) has had THREE identical flexplate/flywheel failures (GSAR code 6375), each diagnosed by a different Ford-authorized dealer. FAILURE 1 (Nov 2021, 51k mi): Lost power at highway speed on interstate. Coasted to stop, would not restart. Broken flexplate. Ford repaired under warranty, reimbursed all expenses. FAILURE 2 (May 2022, 59k mi): Would not start, starter whined. Same diagnosis - broken flexplate. Ford repaired under warranty, reimbursed all expenses. FAILURE 3 (Feb 2026, 133k mi): Broke down on busy road. Police responded with emergency lights until tow arrived. Same diagnosis - broken flexplate, free spinning. Ford REFUSES repair despite confirming Customer Satisfaction Program 22N12 applies to this vehicle. SAFETY: Each failure causes sudden complete loss of drivetrain function with no warning. Failure 1 was at highway speed. Failure 3 required police response on a busy thoroughfare. The manufacturer issued CSP 22N12 acknowledging this defect. A manufacturer rep confirmed on 3/20/2026 that the program applies to this vehicle, then refused coverage citing mileage. The flexplate part was revised (suffix D to E) between failures, indicating the manufacturer knew the original design was defective. Three dealers, three techs, identical diagnosis each time. Vehicle is at dealer, available for inspection.

Hello, The car has 55000 miles right now, It has shifting problem from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear. I dropped it at the Ford Dealership (Koons Ford Woodbridge, Woodbridge, VA 22193). The Dealership informed me that the vehicle is not covered Under and warranty or Customer Satisfaction Program. The symptoms on my vehicle are same as of Bulletin 22N12, the manufacturing plant is also the same as mentioned in bulletin 22N12, but neither the dealership nor the Ford Customer Service is helping me out. The dealership told me to get the vehicle repaired first and wait if the vehicle ever falls in the warranty and I will be reimbursed. If am looking for help to resolve this matter. Thank you

Vehicle has a known Ford 2.0L EcoBoost coolant intrusion / head gasket defect per multiple complaints on different forums on recently googled searches. At approximately 126,000 miles, vehicle began losing coolant with no visible external leaks, producing white smoke on startup, rough idle/misfires, and check engine light. Vehicle also began overheating intermittently. Heating system stopped working, indicating coolant flow failure. Symptoms are consistent with internal coolant intrusion into cylinders due to head gasket failure, a widely reported defect in Ford EcoBoost engines. Issue presents a safety risk due to potential engine failure while driving, loss of power, and overheating. Vehicle requires major engine repair or replacement. This failure occurred despite regular maintenance and appears to be a premature engine defect, not wear and tear. I was recently at the dealership on December 8th with no other issues detected after they replaced a part on my car that failed that I had to pay for ( a P175B-00 ). This had nothing to do with what is going on currently, they ran tests at this dealership and did not detect anything as of December 8th. This was at a ford dealership. Tests were ran and inspected by manufacturer. Fast forward to a week ago I started having the above symptoms and this was diagnosed by family-friend auto mechanic. I have had multiple issues with this car. The transmission blew at 50 thousand miles, the sun roof leaked ( the seal for the sunroof was defective) into my prnd control shifter causing thousands of dollars in damage, a P175B-00, causing my car to not be able to park, causing chaos for weeks. I have only owned this car since December 2020. I still owe 7 thousand on this vehicle and I am at a complete loss. I really just want ford to take accountability for this make and model as it never fits the guidelines for recalls on anything. I want justice for myself and others with these multiple issues coming from ford cars.

Known issue with flex plate: rattle noise that gets progressively worse over time and especially when in colder weather, the cold start & when idling causes the rattle noise to be worse, over the past two years the rattle noise is still there but now with some vibration as well. In 2023, took in to ford dealership & told rattle noise was normal & not significant enough to replace (mentioned the Ford CSP notice of the issue), progressively over the last two years rattling has been getting worse (especially when idling), took it to different ford dealer and they confirmed it has been the flex plate (but now is outside of the CSP coverage). No engine warning lights were on, which is more concerning as the rattling and vibrations worsen over time. Was told that if not fixed the whole car could stop & break down, which poses a safety risk. Multiple other customer complaints about safety issues and concerns with this known issue of flex plates cracking that ford is not taking responsibility for as the CSP doesn’t cover vehicles over 10yrs old or over 100,000 miles— leaving drivers with unsafe vehicles with crack flex plates.

Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. it can work in the morning, but not when I leave to go home after work. It can works for days, then not work for days. I am reporting a serious safety defect involving the transmission system of my Ford Fusion, specifically related to the valve body and torque converter. The malfunction of these components causes sudden, unpredictable surges or lunges in acceleration, even when the vehicle is being driven at steady speeds or when lightly applying the accelerator. The issue appears to stem from improper pressure regulation or fluid flow within the transmission valve body, which causes erratic shifting and delayed engagement. When this malfunction occurs, the torque converter can fail to properly manage torque transfer, resulting in sudden and forceful forward motion of the vehicle. While driving on a highway at approximately 65 mph, my vehicle suddenly lurched forward aggressively, as if it had downshifted or received a surge of power without any change in throttle input. This caused the car to rapidly accelerate momentarily, nearly causing me to lose control. The unexpected forward thrust startled me and forced me to take immediate corrective action to maintain my lane and prevent a collision with a nearby vehicle. In another instance, while slowing down to a stop, the car lunged forward again instead of decelerating smoothly, nearly causing me to roll into an intersection. This created a dangerous situation for myself, my passengers, and surrounding traffic. This defect creates a significant risk of collision due to the vehicle’s unpredictable acceleration behavior. The driver cannot reliably control speed or anticipate when the car may suddenly surge forward. The issue compromises both vehicle stability and driver reaction time, particularly at higher speeds or in traffic. If this problem were to occur in a congested area, at a stoplight, or near pedestrians, it could result in a serious crash, injury, or fatality. The failure of the valve body and torque converter in the Ford Fusion represents a critical mechanical defect that directly impacts safe operation of the vehicle.

According to Auto Zone, after being placed on scanner, the power train system (P0456) has a evaporative emissions system leak (very small leak) diagnosed at 76,919miles. Ford dealership says they cannot find a problem. When I put gas in the car I have to sit and wait at least 10 minutes before my car will start again. It takes a couple of tries and much hesitation, but it will start. Once you get started it has difficulty accelerating or may slow down on its own. Again, Ford dealership reports they can't seem to find a problem. When I told them the problem, they came up with a price to charge me to fix something they could not find. Ridiculous!! My ford app clearly states check engine problem detected, but nooooo they cannot find anything wrong. Two different dealerships. Check engine light was on and off intermittently for a few months starting in march of 2025. No immediate problem then, vehicle had 89 90k miles. In August. The vehicles coolant was leaking into the engine . Rendering a misfire in the cylinder and blowing the head gasket after mechanical diagnosis but not checked immediately due to symptoms not occurring till after a few weeks in August.Car not once over heated but then would not start. The car would then not go past a 40 mph without the transmission pushing very hard. After 3rd party mechanic diagnosis, I looked into potential recall on Fords website and in fact there was one but I was never notified of. So I contacted ford . The said yes, your car is under warranty, however after taking it in, they refused to repair the damages since the problem occurred 10k miles passed the mileage listed on the warranty for the repair. The car is unsafe and not drivable and the issue, which they knew would occur, did not happen till 10k miles passed Fords set parameters in which even if I took it in at that timeframe listed, the problem was not noticeable to be fixed. Very unsafe and unfair to the consumer.

My car is part of a recall with Ford Motor Company - customer satisfaction recall 21N12 - I HAVE A COOLANT LEAK WHICH CAN CAUSE FIRE, and dealership refuses to help because my VIN number doesn"t show up as being affected. However in a letter mailed out by Ford Motor Company it states my vehicle is in fact covered under the saftey recall.. original recall letter was for 2013-2028 ford fusion ecoboost engines. Ford mailed out another letter saying that some 2019 models will experience same issue due to having the same engine. Ford did not mail out letters to 2019 owners for this recall. according to the recall , my car was built at the same plant and same time. I need my VIN number somehow attached to this recall so my dealership can do what is right. Fryer Ford in Ahoskie, NC refuses to help and I do not want to risk driving something that can catch fire. Please tell me what I need to do or verify that my car is in fact part of this recall. Thank you for any assistance in this matter

ELECTRICAL SYSTEMJuly 1, 2025
The electrical system constantly discharges the battery. If the car is not started at least every three days, the battery discharges and must be taken to Ford to have the battery replaced. Ford customer service and the dealer know about this and have taken the position that as a customer I must go start the car because Ford cannot fix the problem, Unknown why they cannot fix it. To start the car every three days is very difficult for me because I am disabled and must climb stairs and walk to the street to manually start the car. Ford suggested using the remote start feature of furnished with the car by Ford. The remote start works but it is limited to remote starting the car two times and then you must go to the car and manually start the car. If I am unable to get to the car in time to start it, the battery goes dead and I cannot use my car in case of an emergency. Ford has been made aware of this, Ford says they agree it is a problem but that Ford Engineers won't remove the two start limit. Ford will not say why there is a two start limit. This could be fixed (limit removed) by just updating the software. Ford does not respond anymore when I ask them about it.

Coolant leakage (no warning light/alert for driver) cause significant damage to engine block. Damage lead to cylinder misfiring and oil leakage. Oil leakage/check engine light occurred same day, prompting scheduling service at Ford dealership. Ford service center states short block needs replaced and car is not safe to drive. Upon research, this is a known issue for this make/model/year and has an open customer satisfaction program that covers the cost of repairs. However, both service center and Ford Customer Service state this vehicle's VIN number is not included in the repair program, despite acknowledging this is the same problem addressed in the repair program. Ford Customer Service recommended submitting this problem and the car's VIN to NHTSA for possible inclusion in the outstanding recall.

A check engine light came on and our mechanic ran diagnostics to find that there was antifreeze leaking. He said it could be the head gasket but we needed to take it to Ford dealership. I am the original owner and have kept up with all maintenance in the 6years I have owned the car. I was told that Fors is “aware” of these issues.

The 6F35 transmission in BOTH of our Ford vehicles that we drive daily for work and school. The Ford Fusion is currently in the shop, but the Ford Escape is available for inspection. My safety was put at risk as my Fusion suddenly, without warning, stopped accelerating in the middle of a 2 lane highway, very unsafe. My daughter's Escape is putting her safety at risk because she has the same 6F35 transmission, the car is still "drivable" at the moment but not safely drivable, with the rough shifting between 2nd-3rd gear, the slow acceleration and sometimes won't go into gear, her safety is at risk. Like MANY other Ford owners with this transmission, the car will end up breaking down and needing $5000 in repairs. Yes the issue has been reproduced by the service center. No, Ford has not reached out to me, I have left 7 messages without any return calls, I have sent multiple emails that were returned to sender. There were no warning lights, messages or problems on the Fusion prior to this happening. I own two Ford cars that are both undrivable, I cannot get to work, my daughter cannot get to work/school. Ford is VERY aware of this transmission issue but will not issue a recall. Also at times when I put my Fusion into drive, from reverse, the backup camera would stay on for a few minutes which makes driving very hard/confusing and very unsafe. Ford needs to take accountability and issue a recall for vehicles with this defective transmission instead of ignoring the issues and telling buyers their vehicles are reliable.

Occasionally, the vehicle will drive in reverse when started and the shifter knob is turned to Drive (forward). This has occurred at least 5 times and the dealership has not been able to replicate the issue. So in their minds, it is not an issue. On one of those instances we noted that that shifter did not have any mode highlighted even though it was put into Drive. There were no warning lamps illuminated, no system messages. The car simply started to reverse when taking the foot off of the brake. The car had to be turned off and restarted multiple times to get it to go forward. This can be dangerous as one could inadvertently strike an object or person that is behind the vehicle.

In 2020, I received a notice from Ford that my 2019 Ford Fusion had a Customer Satisfaction Program repair. I took the vehicle to an authorized Ford Dealer in April of 2020 to have the repair completed, which to my knowledge was completed by the service technicians at Ford. Today, my car broke down while I was traveling to work. I was able to get it to an authorized Ford service dealer and they informed me that my engine was going to need to be replaced due to coolant leaking into the engine. According to Ford, they are not willing to help with the cost of fixing the engine, since my mileage is past what is stated on the CSP notice, even though this was supposedly fixed 5 years ago, way before the mileage that was required and the car was still under warranty. Now, I'm stuck trying to figure out how to pay for a new engine, when Ford knew about this issue and is unwilling to help their customers even when they do the right thing.

In 2023 I was experiencing engine issues. There was a check engine light that continued to come on signaling a cylinder misfire. I replaced the sparkplugs and coils however the issue persisted so I made an appointment to bring it to a Ford Dealership. The Ford dealership contacted me to advise that the issue I was experiencing is a known issue with the Ford Ecoboost motor where coolant ends up leaking into the cylinders causing a failure. This is a huge detriment to safety because I could have had a vehicle fire, or my car could have seized up on the highway while I was driving had I not gotten this to a dealership. I contacted Ford regarding the issue and their response was alarming. Since I was slightly over my warranty my vehicle was not covered for any repairs and they would not address the issue despite it being a known problem with these motors. I was stuck with a 7,000 dollar repair bill and "save your receipts and hope for the best" from Ford. Their negligence was alarming and after doing much research I have found that there still was not a recall issued and many people have experienced this issue.

After checking online and physically checking the part myself I found the issue to be with the transmission shifter bushing (part # KV6Z7K340A) being missing/degraded. 2019 Ford Fusion SE 1.5L. Not made aware of CSP on my car. Have dealer notes saying my car wasn’t listen in OASIS for notification. Although when I found the CSP online my car is an “affected vehicle”. I now have low coolant, white exhaust smoke and severe knocking from my engine. I had a first ever reported issue to the dealership in 05/2023 where my car stalled out and dash lights illuminated. They ran codes and the only documented code in the service paperwork was P0222. They found a “chaffed wire”. They did not upgrade my PCM. Although by 05/2023 that was the recommendation on the CSP for the dealership to do after previously failed bandaid fixes by Ford. My car will be going to the dealership on 12/9/24 to address my concerns and request all of my detailed service records. And really figure out why exactly the dealership didn’t complete ANYthing issued in the CSP especially when I was taking my car to the dealership for routine maintenance. I am within the 6 or 7 years and 84k miles or whatever it is now. It continuously changes but honestly I am quite upset that faulty engines aren’t being recalled by Ford but Ford will issue a recall on BACK UP CAMERAS. Like seriously. Engine > camera A faulty back up camera is probably not the same level of fire/safety risk as the faulty engines Ford continues to refuse to recall.

Flex plate cracked at 84000 miles. It is currently at a Ford dealership being repaired at my expense. The car exhibited a rattling noise at idle near the bell housing. Had the part in question shattered at highway speeds, the results would have been catastrophic. There were no warning indicators other than the rattling noise. From researching this issue, it seems to be a widespread problem with the 1.5l eco boost, but it is not part of the recall.

The lower latch/tether fails to secure the car seat. Any time that the lower latch is tightened for installation, it becomes loose within an hour of installation. The car and car seat were taken to the local fire department to be installed by a certified installer and it still came loose within a hour of installation. The lower latch will not remain sufficiently tightened and the unoccupied seat can move horizontally, laterally and vertically about 3-4 inches. The seat will loosen even when unoccupied by a child.

I purchased the car from countryside dealership. The car had a roaring sound going on which I thought was to do either the tires. I took it back 3 days later because that’s the o ky appointment they had . They told me it was possibly my transmission not my tire at all! Definitely got a second opinion and it was both wheel bearings. Fast forward a couple months the car starts acting weird running like it’s almost out of gas just real bad idling. Took it back it was nothing they said then it just starts running hot my coolant is gone and now my car has a blown engine and I have no way to prove this is a recall defect besides it’s the same mechanical issues that the other fusions have recalls on ! I know this is a long shit but could my car be inspected to prove a recall s missed on my year or what can I do I have no way to replace this motor and I’m still makin the payments every month and it can’t even be driven

This vehicle has a known issue by Ford. In Ford TSB 22-2229 it acknowledges "P0300, P0301-P0304,P0316, P0217, P1285 and/or P1299 stored in powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to coolant intrusion into the cylinder. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the long block engine assembly." When explained, it states that this issue could cause reduced engine power which obviously be a very dangerous situation if the vehicle is traveling at highway/interstate speeds. The replacement of the long block engine assembly is a complete engine replacement that Ford is not assuming responsiblity for either from a safety or cost standpoint. We are regularly receiving these diagnostic codes now and a recent diagnosis from a Ford dealership confirmed the need for a long block engine assembly replacement which is extremely costly and right now is cost prohibitive, especially for a vehicle that is only 5 years old and has less than 100,000 miles on it.

This is my 2nd complaint on the non action to repair this recall. Ford's latest attempt to NOT repair the electrical defect is to buy my car. Their offer does meet the cost of buying a replacement car. Is Ford so inept that they cannot repair their own products? The offer to buy the car sends a red flag up. Is Ford's "solution" to buy my car an attempt to acquire cars to resell at a profit? If Ford cannot repair a defect that was diagnosed a long time ago, should they be allowed to continue to manufacture and sell cars in the United States? Has Ford been sanctioned in any way for this defect?

The coolant level was lower than normal and the engine oil level was fine. We immediately returned home and parked the car. While returning home the front camera continued to display an error message that it was not working and would repeat every 30 seconds. After doing research I read that Ford has known about the Fusion Ecoboost having a design flaw where coolant leaks into the cylinder heads and can crack the head as well as a flexplate crack that appears. They issued a "fix" for the flexplate to some models and I would like this applied to my car as I feel they knowingly continued to sell this model with the issues without prior warnings or notices.

I received a recall notice in June 2023 from Ford announcing a recall for my 2019 Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid. The notice stated that there is a chance of fire from the high voltage battery and BCM (battery control module). Ford stated a fix will be issued. This was over 1 year ago. The interim remedy from Ford is asking all 2019-2020 owners to stop charging their vehicles until a fix is issued. This disables a large portion of the car's functionality, performance and efficiency. As Fusion Energi owners, we paid a hefty premium for a PHEV, and instead we have a very inefficient and poor performing standard hybrid. Ford has not communicated any updates in the past 8 months, and when I call dealers there is no indication of when a fix will be made available. I'm ready to give up. If you are looking to purchase a used 2019-2020 Fusion Energi, I suggest you wait until there is a resolution for this issue.

As a result of reading reports of the potential fire due to charging the vehicle and the notice to not charge the vehicle for safety reasons, I have not been able to use the battery and fuel efficiency part of this vehicle. Again, this is the reason for purchasing the vehicle and paying more for the car. I have contacted Ford and there is no fix in the near future. I am only told to continue to use the vehicle in gas mode. This is not an acceptable response and remedy for their issue. The vehicle value has now drastically reduced as no one wants to purchase a hybrid they cannot charge.

I could not find a link for complaints, so I am reporting a complaint here. I got a notice of recall in July 2023 (NHTSA Recall 23V-440) for this vehicle and almost a year later there is NO fix or updated communication on whether the Battery Energy Control Module for this vehicle can be modified to be made safe. I was told to stop charging the car due to a possible fire hazard, and this defeats the purpose that I purchased it for in the first place. I have been forced to buy (increasiingly expensive) gasoline for the past 10+ months whereas before the recall, I almost never purchased gas - just charged the car. I want to make a formal complaint against Ford Motor Corporation for their lack of action and communication on the status of this problem and when it is likely to be solved. Thank you.

Last year on or about May or June 2023, I received a Safety Recall 23S33 from Ford. I had experienced a similar recall with my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV. Up until the time a fix was identified, Chrysler offered monthly debit cards of $200 to compensate for additional expense of gasoline that would not have been incurred but for the recall. Later, Chrysler offered reimbursement for the the additional expense of a rental vehicle. The only benefit or compensation for the inconvenience and expense of not being able to charge my 2019 Ford Fusion PHEV is a single $200 debit card sent during the holiday season in late 2023. I have called Ford asking the status of a fix as well as any customer benefit available for this recall for which I was told my Ford there was none. This month will be one full year since the recall and Ford has failed to 1) provide periodic updates on the status of a fix, 2) provided any customer benefit such as debit cards, rental car reimbursement, or buy back benefit. I am extremely concerned that if the NHTSA does not immediately sanction or fine Ford for - at best - poor customer service or - at worst - negligent business practices, the result will be little to no incentive for automobile manufacturers to promptly rectify defective parts in their vehicles or, even worse, little to no incentive to avoid manufacturing vehicles with a foreseeable risk of serious defects. Given almost an entire year since the recall, I strongly advocate that the NHTSA take immediate and meaningful action on behalf of impacted Ford customers to require Ford to provide cash compensation (debit cards), reimbursement (for alternative car rental), or customer friendly buy-back options for those subject to the recall since May 2023.

Major safety concern. The vehicle gets stuck in first gear while the engine is running and the brake is released. Hello. Recently it was discovered by my mechanic when they were doing an oil change that there was a crack discovered between the engine and transmission. This crack appeared to be a part of the flex plate which has been causing transmission fluid to leak and ultimately losing power in some cases when driving. When doing research, my vehicle did not come up under recall looking everywhere I could with my VIN#. I’m afraid for my safety and the safety of my family. A picture uploaded below will show the crack and some transmission fluid visibly leaking. Please help. My vehicle currently has 55,646 miles.

The manufacturer is taking an unreasonably long time to remedy the situation affected by this recall. There has been virtually no communication, and their customer service isn't even aware of the issue unless reminded of it. A recall on the electrical system of my plug in hybrid does not allow me to use the electrical portion of my vehicle. This was the major selling point of this vehicle. I also cannot sell this vehicle because no dealership will purchase this vehicle with this major recall (that has been issued with no remedy since June of last year (10 months ago).

My vehicle had a recall opened nearly a year ago. The recall is 23S33 PHEV BATTERY CELL DEGRADATION. I had taken my car into the dealership nearly a dozen times over the course of almost 2 years prior to the recall being announced. I was told not to charge a car that I bought for that specific purpose. Initially a solution was posted of replacing the battery which was then removed. So there very much is a remedy available, they just don't want to pay the cost to provide that remedy. I am attaching a saved image of the recall from ford's website that under remedy specifically states what the remedy is. The longer they wait the less of these vehicles will be on the road due to accidents and such. So the longer they delay the less they have to spend to solve the issue. Meanwhile customers are not only unable to charge a vehicle that we bought for that purpose, but are driving a car Ford has admitted is dangerous. As it's a hybrid electric the battery is still being used everytime we drive the car.

Diagnosis with a borescope reveled coolant into cylinders 2and 3. Almost 8,000 dollars later, a new motor. In my Opinion, the cost of the actual motor should be free, or at least less then 2,700. I do not think it's very fair for Ford to profit from their own defective design. Thanks.

Coolant intrusion into cylinder number 2 is beginning occur on my 2.0l ecoboost engine. I know this because I am getting misfire codes for cylinder 2, losing coolant in the reservoir that I have to replenish, and seeing white smoke coming out of the exhaust. Ford acknowledged that this engine has a design flaw that allows for coolant to enter the cylinders over time and gave the solution of replacing the long block, as stated in Technical Service Bulletin 22-2229. With the 2.0 engine suffering from the same design flaw that the 1.5l ecoboost engine suffers from, Ford created a recall for the 1.5l engine to replace the long block, as stated in the Customer Satisfaction Program 21N12. Since this sets a precedent that this flaw needs to be recalled and replaced by a newly designed long block, it should mean that all engines that suffer from the same design flaw should be recalled and fixed. If not fixed, it is reported that over time, the coolant intrusion can cause engine failures and misfires and eventually can trigger a full-blown fire of the engine. With this information, it seems prudent that Ford extend the recall for coolant intrusion to include the 2.0l ecoboost engine and other engines that suffer from this design flaw.

Unable to charge the plug in hybrid vehicle due to Ford recall 23S33 which was announced June 16,2023. Ford advised owner not to charge the vehicles until a remedy is available. No remedy for this issue is available 9 months later, leaving consumer to use gasoline only to power this plug in hybrid vehicle due to risk of excess voltage and current flow through the battery energy control module which can result in loss of motive power while driving, increasing risk of a crash, or a vehicle fire in the trunk area increasing risk of injury. Ford negligently installed 9 kWh hybrid batteries in the 2019-2020 model vs a 7.6 kWh battery in the 2013-2018 Fusion energi models which likely caused the issue, yet has left the consumer with a vehicle that has lost it’s worth in addition to having to pay for gasoline to power the vehicle. In addition, Ford installed 3 g modem’s leaving consumers unable to use the Ford pass app as well. Ford buy back offer does not reflect depreciation of the vehicle due to this recall, further leaving consumers to pay for the issue Ford created.

Once there I was informed by the advisor the car was in recall and they would provide me with a loaner until repairs were done. I drove the loaner for two weeks only to be called by the advisor and informed that my car would not qualify for repairs and he needed the loaner back right away because he was possibly in trouble. There is currently an active recall with no remedy being made available as of 6/16/2023. In this recall it is stated EXCESS VOLTAGE AND CURRENT FLOW THROUGH THE BECM CAN RESULT IN A LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER WHICH INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH, OR A VEHICLE FIRE IN THE TRUNK AREA. The safety of my family, which includes a two year old who is in a car seat in the back seat has been put at risk every day due to this issue not being remedied and continuing to have a potential for vehicle fire every time we start the car. Ford has advised to not charge the vehicle, however there is a system that allows for recharge while breaking. I have pulled the following information from the Ford website..."Regenerative Braking, When you apply the brakes in a conventional vehicle, kinetic energy is lost due to friction. During braking in a Ford hybrid, however, regenerative braking recovers more than 90%* of this energy, sending it back to the battery to be stored for later use." With this feature the battery is still being engaged and putting my daughter at risk. It would be extremely time consuming to run around the vehicle to her location then unbuckle and pull her out from the car seat after having to pull over once alerted to the car being on fire, potentially while on the highway. Its unlikely that we would reach her in time to save her. Another consideration for risk would be to other drivers on the road. Creating an emergency such as vehicle fire has high probability to cause others to become distracted while driving leading to more injuries. Vehicle has been taken to the Ford dealership on multiple occasions in 2023 for battery issues. We request to see the issue completely resolved or for Ford to buy the vehicle back.

Once I can safely remove myself from the flow of traffic and stop/restart my car the issue is resolved. Makes me believe this is electrical/computer origin. When driving at low speeds and when changing speeds, engine will not shift correctly when accelerator is pressed, and then will suddenly engage and lurch forward. And when slowing down braking system is not consistent, often have to depress brake harder than normal. Hybrid battery will also stop working when "see manual" message is on. Manufacturer Recall Number 23S33 NHTSA Recall Number 23V-440 Ford denied my buyback claim due to the vehicle being pre-owned, but with the open recall, I believe this vehicle to be a significant safety risk. My vehicle has limited functionality and reduced fuel economy in a model for which I specifically paid extra money. There is no fix in sight until the end of 2024 at the earliest, and there are other accounts of people's vehicles leaving them stranded or catching on fire! Ford does not have a fix for this vehicle, and a fix will not be available within a reasonable timeframe.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that they noticed that the amount of mileage they should be able to drive was significantly lower than what was stated when manufactured. When they initially started the vehicle, it would display a rough start, and a cloud of white smoke would come from the fuel pipe from the rear. The check engine light had illuminated. The contact was informed that the failure was related to the TSB with the NHTSA Number: 10214126 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that there was a misfire with cylinder 2. The contact with the failure could have also resulted from a failed fuel tank as a whole or damaged walls to the fuel tank. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure where it was confirmed the VIN was not included in the TSB with the NHTSA Number: 10214126 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact was referred to NHTSA to file a complaint. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000.

I started my car one morning and heard a new noise that sounded like something was loose in my engine. I would hear this noise at idle and while starting the car. I took it to my mechanic who diagnosed a cracked flex plate.
POWER TRAIN,ENGINEDecember 9, 2023
My car Transmission started to make a Rattling Noise while leaving a store. While on the highway, far left lane going 65mph, all of a sudden the car slowed rapidly with traffic all around me traveling 65+mph. I had to get over 3 lanes to exit the highway going 25. I was almost hit several times by vehicles going 65+. This could have caused a deadly accident. Luckily I made it to the exit without a collision. The South Belleville Ford dealership inspected the car and said the flexplate was cracked. I found out from Ford that they put out a Customer Satisfaction Program repair for the same flexplate my car is equipped with, covering the cost of repair and a rental vehicle at 100% but my vehicle, even though it was manufactured during the time specified and at the assembly plant specified with the specified transmission and flexplate, it did not qualify for the program because it has a different engine than what they had on file. They offered to cover 40% of repair since my car did have the defective flexplate. This is an extreme safety hazard as it could cause a deadly accident. It's a transmission problem, the engine is irrelevant and shouldn't matter. Ford needs to recall all vehicles equipped with the defective flexplate and not wait until it cracks because when it cracks someone could die. This is not a wait-and-see issue. This is a replace the defective part immediately before someone dies. This also puts other drivers on the road at risk of sudden death if the car in front of them has the defective flexplate and it suddenly cracks while traveling at high speeds and suddenly rapidly decelerates like mine did. The program even states that is what can happen if it cracks, so they know of this extreme safety problem. Ford plants will change what they are making for a couple of months and that is how I ended up with a different engine and my VIN not being reported by the plant as having been manufactured there at that time with that same defective flexplate.

I am writing to bring to your attention a serious matter regarding the delayed resolution of a safety recall for my plug-in hybrid vehicle, a 2019 Ford Fusion Energi, with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) [XXX] . The recall in question was issued by Ford Motor Company in June 2023. As a responsible vehicle owner, I promptly responded to the recall notice and attempted to address the safety concern with my vehicle. Unfortunately, Ford has been unable to remedy the issue in a timely manner, and this situation is causing considerable inconvenience, financial losses, and most importantly, concerns about my safety and the safety of others on the road. My plug-in hybrid vehicle, which typically boasts an electric-only range of 26 miles when fully charged, has been rendered unable to charge due to the safety recall. Given that I charge my vehicle daily, this has resulted in 154 days, or 4,004 miles, of forced reliance on the gasoline engine. This not only contradicts the purpose and efficiency of a plug-in hybrid but has also led to approximately $300 worth of wasted gasoline, calculated using the IRS mileage reimbursement rate. Furthermore, the anxiety and stress associated with driving a vehicle under recall are substantial. I am worried each time I get into my car that it may catch fire or suddenly stall while I am on the road. This not only impacts my daily life but also compromises the safety of myself, passengers, and fellow motorists. I kindly request the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's intervention to ensure a swift and effective resolution to this matter. The delay in remedying the safety recall not only undermines the purpose of owning a plug-in hybrid but also places the safety of consumers at risk. I trust that the NHTSA will investigate this matter thoroughly and take the necessary steps to ensure a timely and satisfactory resolution. Ford has still not provided a satisfactory fix for this recall. It has been 139 days since the recall was issued. Now Ford is putting a stop/hold on their initial recall fix and has instructed their dealers to return recall parts AND to put a stop sale on any vehicles in their inventory. This has resulted in a drastic depreciation of my vehicle. Not only does Ford not have a solution to the problem, but now they have left me with a car that is unsellable which is causing massive economic harm to me. Ford now says there is no interim fix (perhaps until LATE 2024) this is absurd. Ford should buy these vehicles back from all affected owners asap. Ford sent a safety recall notice 23S33 and poorly worded the "What should you do?" section. After calling for clarifications, Ford advised us not to fully charge the high voltage battery. There is no method to limit the charge level and not charging the batteries will damage them. Ford advised the only way to limit the battery charge level is to watch/monitor the vehicle as it charges, and disconnect the power cable prior to fully charging. Ford should provide one of two options without delay: The Ford app should be updated, providing users with the ability to limit the high voltage battery charge level or; Ford should provide its dealer service departments with instructions to program a lower maximum charge limit for the high voltage battery that is consistent with the recommendations from the Safety Recall. While Ford is working on a long-term remedy, and in light of the potential for fire, Ford should take immediate steps to assist its customers with temporary and reasonable options to limit the high voltage battery charge level.

I have a 2019 Ford Fusion Titanium that I just recently sold to my son. I purchased the car used from a dealership in January of 2020. In October of 2021the flexplate went out and was replaced under the manufacturer warranty. The part went out again in May of 2023 and since the car had been totaled out due to a hail storm I have been told the manufacturer warranty is no longer valid. I have been able to find that there was a bad batch of replacement parts that may have found its way into several vehicles that have experienced this same problem. When Ford replaced the flexplate it was only the flexplate that was replaced. I was required to replace the flexplate, the front fluid pump assembly and the torque converter when I had to have it fixed again. I believe that if Ford has updated this recall it is due to them knowing that either the parts used in the original repair were defective and they don't know which ones it was; or, they now know that the original fix should have included the front fluid pump assembly as well as the torque converter. I believe that either way I should at least be able to ask for Ford to cover the cost of the parts under this second repair in less than two years on the same issue. The parts that I had put on now are guaranteed for two years, why is that? The labor should be at a discounted rate as well. It is my hope that you will investigate this or look at your database to see how many other customers are experiencing the same issue.

Last year my car started overheating for no apparent reason checked coolant reservoir and visibly seemed empty but when I removed the cap antifreeze rose fast. Added antifreeze and it stopped overheating. About 3 months ago Because it overheated I had to get the head gasket replaced, timing components replaced, heads repaired, and engine flushed(antifreeze had entered engine), not to mention labor all costing roughly $3,000. Only for it to happen again and now I’m out of $3,000 because the same thing is happen only this time my car is shaking and smoking from the tail pipe badly. In the mean time my fiancé has lost his job due to us not being able to drive the car. After doing god knows how much research to find out this is an ongoing problem with this particular make of car. Because of having to pay for countless repairs and no one seeming to know what’s going on with my car I am now behind on bills and still without a car that is only 4 years old. I haven’t done any long driving to other states beside neighbors states that are about 2-3 hours away but that shouldn’t matter because it’s a new car I shouldn’t have any problems driving it wherever. I purchased this car at a lil over 30k miles my problems started at about 61k miles which is odd since the manufacturer warranty had just expired about 1k miles before that. I believed in ford for the longest and now I am regretting ever buying one. My very first car purchase from a lot and it turns out to be the worst car I’ve ever purchased. I’m sure me typing all of this probably won’t get read or even looked into but this is an experience I wouldn’t dare want anyone else to go through so I’m sure to leave many reviews but I thought you should know. Also because of the over heating my car has cut off at times where my life could have been taken (at lights and intersections) have a good day!

I routinely take my car to get oil changes and check for any other problems. So 2 days after getting my oil changed at a dealership my car began to overheat which shouldn’t have happened because when I got my oil changed they filled the liquids to proper levels. So I added antifreeze because my reservoir was empty once cooled I opened my reservoir and antifreeze began to come back up to the proper level. After getting it home that same thing happened and haven’t moved it since. Now my car shakes and the overheating light stays on. There is no visible leak and I don’t know where the antifreeze goes. My car is only about 3 years old and I don’t believe this should be happening. I take good care of my car routine check ups and oil changes. After doing some research online I’ve seen so many people with my same car reporting the same issue. I believe this problem has been recalled in older years (2014-2016) unsure of exact years but I believe it wasn’t fixed and now has cause major stress for me because I only have one car. This wouldn't happen every time I started my vehicle so I didn't pay much attention to it until my check engine light eventually came on one day after startup. I brought my car to an auto parts shop to have the OBII read and it came up as a misfire in cylinder 4. I contacted my Ford dealer and made an appointment for the following day. Upon taking my car to the dealer, they informed me that my car is leaking coolant into cylinder 4 and that is why it was misfiring. They told me that this was an issue that Ford was aware of but did not have a fix for, aside from replacing the engine. I was told that I could take the car home while they reached out to Ford to see if they were willing to cooperate in taking care of the cost of repair, that the car was safe to drive and was only burning off a tiny bit of coolant when starting. A few weeks went by and one day I was stopped in traffic when my car got another warning on the dash that my engine oil was over temperature. 2019 Ford Fusion Titanium coolant infusion into cylinder #2. I Took the car to the dealer because the coolant reservoir was always low. I always had to add coolant in a weekly bases but I never notice any leaks. The dealer told me that since there was no check engine lights on it was something normal. I continued to add coolant every now and then. About six(6) months later, the engine stopped. My father came to help and after checking my car told me there was coolant mixing with the motor oil. He asked me if there was a check engine light on or if the car heated up at any moment. No, my car never heated up and there was never a check light on. He towed the car to Tropical Ford, Orlando Fl. The Ford dealer told me I need a new engine and the repair was gonna be $6,261.00 We researched the problem and found the 2014 - 2019 Ford Fusion vehicles equipped with 1.5L or 2.0L Ecoboost engines came with a defect in the engine block and that is why coolant was intruding into the engine cylinders. We found that this is well known issue on this but Ford never told us about it. There are hundreds of complains about this same issue; Coolant infusion into the engine cylinders due to a factory bad block. The Ford Company corrected the factory issue by making a new engine block for the same engine but they refuse to accept responsibility that the original block is in fact, defected. My question to them was; Why would Ford make a new block for the same engine if there was never a factory problem with the original block? The answer is simple. There is a factory problem with the original block and ford knows/knew about it. https://www.carproblemzoo.com/ford/fusion/2019/engine-and-engine-cooling-problems.php https://www.newsom.law/ford-fusion-overheating-lawsuit.html

I had my flexplate fail twice within 12500 miles of each other. First break was in December of 2021 at 52xxx miles. The flexplate can fail and have multiple cracks in it causing it to rattle and break further on each start and drive, causing the possibility of it completely breaking while driving if someone does not verify what it is. It sounds like a knock in the motor and be mistaken as that if the flexplate is not looked at. I only caught the break cause I heard a slight ticking getting louder every couple of days. And when I went to the dealership to get it looked at it broke further and started making a louder tick/clank. I have talked to a dealer worker that has has the same issue come up (cracked flexplate) with his edge with the 2.0 motor. Along with other research I’ve done I see there are MANY fusions and edges with the 2.0 EcoBoost that have the same issue. So this is a wide spread issue. Ford knows of this issue but does not take responsibility for the issue if the vehicle is no longer under warranty.

About a week or so ago I went out to crank my car and it sounded awful It was shuttering, sounded like it was going to shut off and the engine light came on, it's a 2019 Ford Fusion. I notice it does this every morning, well I took it to the dealer ship today, they said I have coolant leaking into the Engine.
AIR BAGSJune 23, 2021
Fusion traveling northbound and t-boned sedan traveling westbound in intersection. Fusion has significant front end damage. No airbags deployed in Fusion. All airbags deployed in other vehicle. Driver of Fusion, wearing seatbelt, suffered sternum fracture. Available for inspection. Failure of airbags to deploy likely cause sternum fracture. Fusion just arrived at car repair for scan and inspection. The Fusion was started less than 5 minutes prior to accident and driver received message indicating the front camera was unavailable.

LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGESJune 12, 2021
Yesterday I parked my car and about 45 minutes later when I returned my trunk was open. This makes a few times now where I have parked my car and left, then when I returned my trunk was open. The first couple of times I dismissed it because the trunk was only open slightly. In one of the early instances I was standing there when the trunk opened by itself and thought it was because I hadn't closed it all the way. But yesterday the trunk was open halfway with the taillight flashing bringing further attention to it. There were no error messages or warnings (other than the taillight flashing). Yesterday when this happened, my car was charging at a public charging station. I suspect the taillight was flashing because the car was plugged in and charging. The other times this happened, it was not charging. This morning I googled Ford Fusion trunk opening by itself and saw multiple online forums with other Ford Fusion owners, who going back years, have been experiencing their trunks opening for no apparent reason. Some of them said it happens while driving. If my trunk were to open while I was driving the distraction would put myself and other drivers at risk. There would also be a danger if items started to fly out of my trunk. One of the forums suggested notifying the NHTSA about this issue. I also messaged Ford about this issue asking about a fix.

CAR SHUDDERS/SHAKES INTERMITTENTLY ON COLD STARTS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON MAY 3 AT 11AM. TAKEN TO DEALER ON MAY 3 AT 4PM. CAR DRIVES FINE BUT HAS AIRBAG LIGHT ON DUE TO BAD MODULE FROM THE MANUFACTURE.

T O WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, THANK YOU FOR ASSISTING ME DURING THIS PROCESS. MY CAR I PURCHASED NEW AND I WOULD LIKE TO SAY A FEW MONTH INTO OWNING MY CAR IVE HAD SERVAL INCIDENCE WHERE MY CAR WOULD COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE I'M A RED LIGHT FOR AWHILE DUE TO TRAFFICS. MY CAR HAS AN ECO BUTTON WHERE I CAN TURN IT OFF AND ON SO IT DOESN'T 'SHUT DOWN' WHEN I COME TO A STOP. THE REASON I'M SO UPSET WITH THIS IS BECAUSE 2-3 TIMES IT'S HAPPENED TO I'VE HAD MY TODDLER WITH ME AND IN ORDER FOR ME TO GO (WHEN THE CAR SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY TURN ON ONCE I REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE BREAK), I HAVE TO TURN OFF MY CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON AND IT'S HAPPENED DURING TRAFFIC AND BUG INTERACTIONS. I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN MY CAR AND MOST IMPORTANTLY I'M SCARED A CAR WILL HIT ME FROM BEHIND DO TO THIS ISSUE WITH MY SON IN THE CAR. I'VE ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE TO FORD AND WHEN I TAKE IT IN THEY SAID THEY CAN'T DETECT THE PROBLEM. THEY'VE CHANGED THE BATTERY THINKING IT WOULD HELP HIT IT DIDN'T. I'VE GIVEN THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASSIST ME AS MUCH AS THEY CAN BUT YET I FEEL LIKE NOTHINGS BEEN DONE.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROLOctober 5, 2020
SIMILAR TO NHTSA ID# 11290551, I TOO EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION OF MY VEHICLE OVER THE SET SPEED ON THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEMS IN BOTH MEDIUM (35-45MPH) AND HIGHWAY (50-65MPH) SPEEDS. I'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE, CURRENTLY UNDER 15K MILES. PERIODIC VISUAL INSPECTIONS BY OWNER, ALL VEHICLE MAINTENANCE PERFORMED BY DEALERSHIP AS PER OWNER'S MANUAL. WHILE I NEVER LET THE CAR TAKE OVER THE DRIVER, IT CONCERNS ME IF THIS HAPPENS WITH MY WIFE DRIVING IT AS SHE MAY NOT HAVE THE SAME THINKING THAT I DO. ASIDE OF THAT, THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE IS INCONSISTENT IN DETECTING VEHICLES WHILE SWITCHING LANES OR IN FLAT SURFACED CURVES, REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER (HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES DURING CLEAR DAYS AND UNDER MODERATE RAIN). THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE SO IT RETURNS TO THE SET SPEED. WHILE THE FEATURE WORKS OK MOST OF THE TIME, THOSE INCONSISTENCIES CAN CAUSE SEVERE PROBLEMS ON HIGHWAY SPEEDS - WHICH IS THE PLACE THEY ARE MOST USED AT. ONCE AGAIN, WHILE I FEEL I AM ALWAYS IN CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE, I GET CONCERNED FOR MY WIFE. SHE DOES NOT DO HIGHWAYS OR DRIVES LONGER THAN A 10 MILES RADIUS TO A FEW KNOWN LOCATIONS BY HERSELF. BY THE FEW TIMES I EXPERIENCED THE REPORTED, I'VE CONSIDERED IF THE VEHICLE WITH THE CLAIMED ADDED SAFETY FEATURES WERE WORTH THE PURCHASE AND ARE TRULY READY FOR WIDE ADOPTION.

I WAS DRIVING OUT OF A STORE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE HAD THE BATTERY ENGINE COME OUT AND OTHER WEIRD VERBIAGE IVE NEVER SEEN. I WAIT WITH MY 9 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER ON A BUSY STREET AND IT WAS OVER 100 DEGREE WEATHER. WE WAITED MAYB 10MINS AND THE BRAKE BECAME SOMEONE MANAGEABLE TO PUSH AND THE VEHICLE STARTED AS SOON AS IT DID START SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT FROM THE HOOD DROVE TO A NEAR BY BUSINESS AND HAD TO WAIT OVER W HOURS FOR A TOW TRUCK. THIS IS SUCH A SAFETY HAZARD AS A MOTHER YOU WANT THE VEHICLE YOU DRIVE TO BE AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE BUT FOR A BRAND NEW VEHICLE ONLY A YEAR OLD TO STALL OUT THE WAY IT DID IS SO SCARY BECAUSE I COULD'VE BEEN HIT AND YOU NOT ONLY WORRY ABOUT YOUR SAFETY BUT YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY.

TWICE, WHEN I WENT TO BUCKLE THE DRIVER-SIDE SEATBELT, THE END WENT NOT INTO THE LATCH, BUT INSTEAD INTO THE CASING AROUND THE LATCH (SEE PICTURES). THERE WAS JUST ENOUGH FRICTION TO HOLD IT IN PLACE AND MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT WAS LATCHED, WHEN IN ACTUALITY, IT WAS NOT. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER TWICE, BUT GOT NO REPLY. I THEN WROTE A LETTER TO FORD MOTOR CO. SIMPLY SAYING I HAD FOUND AN ISSUE, BUT ONLY GOT AN OBVIOUS FORM LETTER SAYING "THANK YOU". THEY DIDN'T EVEN ASK FOR ANY DETAILS. UPON DISCUSSION OF THE ISSUE WITH A FRIEND, HE SAID HE HAD THE SAME EXACT ISSUE WITH A 2015 FUSION.

WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET, PRESSING THE + BUTTON AND HOLDING FOR A FEW SECONDS TO INCREASE THE SPEED A FEW MILE PER HOUR WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO CONTINUE ACCELERATING UNTIL THE 'CANCEL' BUTTON OR THE 'OFF' BUTTON IS PRESSED. PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL ALSO STOP THE RUN AWAY ACCELERATION. DURING THE RUN-AWAY ACCELERATING, PRESSING THE + BUTTON OR THE - BUTTON WILL NOT STOP THE ACCELERATION. ADDITIONALLY, WITH CRUISE SET, PRESSING THE - BUTTON FOR A FEW SECONDS WILL CAUSE A RUN-AWAY DECELERATION. THE VEHICLE IS PRESENTLY BEING LOOKED AT BY THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS BOUGHT. IN THE MEAN TIME, I WAS GIVEN A 2019 FUSION HYBRID AS A LOANER VEHICLE AND THAT CRUISE CONTROL DOES THE SAME THING: RUN-AWAY ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION WHEN PRESSING THE + OR - BUTTON. THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED MANY TIMES AND WAS CRUISING ANYWHERE FROM 50 MPH TO 70 MPH WHEN THE + AND - BUTTON WAS PRESSED. I NOTICED THAT THE RUN-AWAY DECELERATION WAS QUITE PRONOUNCED COMPARED TO THE ACCELERATION.
