I need to open a safety case for my vehicle. I am concerned with my vehicle. Car was having trouble starting on 4/16/2026 while parked at home giving a "full accessory power active" error. I called Ford and I was told it could be a battery issue. Triple A was called and help was dispatched. The Triple A representative did not jump start the battery and instead gave directions to power up the car back up with no electrical current necessary. Car started after trouble shooting it and it was tested through the night just like Triple A directed. The following day on 4/17/26 the car had no issue starting and all was normal. While testing the vehicle it started to produce a strong burning rubbery smell. I opened the hood and there was a leaking sound followed by a light smoke and leakage near the battery. A video was taken if needed. The smell was extremelly strong and I am reporting this safety concern as the VIN associated with the vehicle currently has an unrepaired recall with no available remedy yet by FORD - 25V467. The safety risk associated with this recall number is fire under hood due to possible injector crack that could lead to fuel accumulating on top of the engine. I want this issue recorded as I am concerned with the safety of my family.

I have brought the car in both to Marin Ford and Serramonte Ford for a transmission fluid leak. They have confirmed there is transmission fluid pooling under the hood but are either unable or unwilling to repair the source of the leak. Car is still under warranty - hoping they are not waiting for the warranty to expire and for my the car to start failing. The brakes also make a loud whining noise while driving in reverse on my 2022 Bronco Sport. The people at Serramonte Ford in Colma, CA tell me this is standard for Ford Broncos and Escape and there is not a fix. It sounds like a whale call and hard to believe the issue can't be resolved. I have read other complaints saying the saying the same thing and Ford charging 1k once out of warranty to replace pads, etc.

Rats are attracted to the soy based wire coating. They ate every coating off every wire in the entire car, which cost a fortune to fix! I want a new car without that wire coating. I shouldn't be responsible for this mess! It's a known problem. My car is spotless! No food or drinks allowed. The guy who fixed it said he had never seen anything like it, and was shocked at the damage because at first glance my car looked brand new. He also stated most of the damage probably happened when it sat in a field waiting on the computer chip before I purchased it. Either way its absolutely ridiculous to take such good care of a car and have THIS going on!

I started a Turo business and because of the recall on the Ford 2022 bronco sport I haven’t been able to rent my car out for the last eight months. Turo will not allow you to rent a car that has a recall this recall has been going on for eight months and there is no fix in the near future and it may be until the middle of July until we’ll hear anything else about a remedy to fix this issue with the recall not being ready for another 3 to 4 months this is gonna put me one year of not being able to make any income off of that car and Forde says there is nothing they can do about it. They will not issue a rental car or a car to use in the meantime until this issue is fixed so I have done nothing wrong and as the customer, I am the one that has to lose a years worth of income because of something that Forde can’t fix in a timely manner.

Fuel system 1. I don't know what failed because the dealership didn't do anything to repair it. It is available for inspection upon request 2. Intensely strong fuel odor at the front of the car, inside and out. Strong exhaust odor at the back of the car. It is not safe to operate a car if it smells like fuel. 3. Dealership had it for 3 weeks and said there is nothing wrong. Now they are ignoring me. I am taking it to an independent mechanic. 4. Ford said they inspected it but they didn;t because there's all kinds of issues with this car. 5. No warnings. Suspension 1. It literally howls when braking in reverse. Spring popping sound when turning corners. 2. When fuel odor or suspension is an issue, it is always a safety issue. 3. Dealership said it is normal. It is not. 4. See above. 5. No warnings Body 1. From fender flare was packed full of rocks and debris. The dealership said they won't do anything despite the little box with their check mark next to "trim". Worst dealership ever. 2. If rocks can get packed in there they can also come out, in any direction and any speed.

February 26, 2026, Concern: Ford Recall 25S76 / NHTSA 25V467 – No remedy available. My vehicle previously had an earlier Ford recall for fuel leakage and fire risk. The dealer installed a drain tube as an interim fix about 18 months ago. Ford has now issued a new recall 25S76 / NHTSA Recall 25V467 August 2025 for a similar hazard involving cracked fuel injectors that can cause fuel to accumulate on the engine. Ford states that parts are not available and has provided no timeline for a permanent repair. Because this is the second fire risk recall for a related issue and the prior fix did not resolve the underlying problem, I am concerned that the manufacturer has not provided a timely or effective remedy. I am requesting that NHTSA review this delay and include my case in its monitoring of this recall.

I was driving on the highway and my entire car shut down right in the middle of the highway and would not turn back on or shift into any gears. It was making horrible sounds and was really scary to be dead in the middle of the highway. The shop called and just informed me a bearing broke loose and sent metal shards throughout the entire transmission and it needs fully replaced. This appears to be an issue with BRONCOS, but my vin# is not included. Hoping other people report this claim so this issue can get resolved. I hope no one else experiences this safety concern.

A manufacturer recall was issued for a defect involving the fuel system (fuel injectors), but no remedy or repair timeline has been provided. Due to the safety risk (potential fuel leakage and/or fire), I cannot reasonably use the vehicle without concern for liability if harm were to occur. Additionally, the recall must be marked as resolved in the NHTSA database before the vehicle can be returned to normal use, which is not possible without an available fix. The extended and indefinite repair timeline creates a significant burden, as the vehicle remains unusable with no clear resolution date. I have contacted both the dealer and the manufacturer, but no satisfactory resolution or timeline has been provided. No warning lights or prior symptoms were observed. The issue has not been independently reproduced, as it is a manufacturer-identified defect. The vehicle has not been repaired because no remedy is available. Overall, this represents a safety concern and loss of use, with no timeline provided for when the recall will be resolved.

On 12/22/2025, my fiancé and I purchased a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport from LaFontaine Ford in Lansing, MI. During the initial purchase, we were not aware of any recalls or vehicle defects with the Bronco Sport. Roughly one month later, the check engine light came on, and after a thorough vehicle inspection, we were notified that there was a recall on the vehicle in regards to bad fuel injector(s), and that we needed to bring the vehicle back to the dealership for a computer update. After dropping the vehicle off at the dealership, we were notified that the engine was blown due to a cylinder misfire as a result of a bad fuel injector. We were also advised that the dealership had already completed the computer update prior to our purchase and cleared out the codes (critical misfire). The negligence of the dealership put my fiancé in extreme danger with selling us a vehicle with a critical fault that could cause a vehicle fire! The problem still has not been remedied as Ford is asking up to pay $3,483.00 for a new engine with them covering $4,457.00. I believe all of this should be covered under the recall and/or powertrain warranty since this issue has been well documented with Ford Bronco's prior to us purchasing the vehicle.

The car sputters when fuel is added but will drive. Went to get it checked out. Ford said it was spark plugs and a canister purge valve stuck. Got it looked at for a second opinion and they said the plugs were fine and the note saying the canister purge valve was stuck, but the canister purge valve was operating fine. Second opinion said it was throwing a transmission fault code. Possibly solenoid somewhere or an issue with the PCM, TCM or BCM. Then the car started shifting really hard, getting stuck in gears and shutting off. I had to get it towed to my house. I’m thinking there’s a bad PCM, TCM or BCM in this model and it just hasn’t been mentioned yet. Historically, Ford says it’s the spark plugs often and other issues and take several times to fix the issue. Last time it has a shut off problem, they tried two different things before replacing a solenoid somewhere and it lasted for a while up until now. Seems like they can’t really determine what’s wrong with it even after paying for the professional diagnostic fee
AIR BAGSJanuary 23, 2026
I was driving to work in my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport when traffic ahead of me stopped suddenly. I was able to come to a complete stop. The vehicle behind me did not see the stopped traffic until the last second and rear-ended my vehicle at an estimated speed of approximately 50 mph. The impact was severe enough that my vehicle was pushed forward into the car in front of me, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision. Despite the severity of the impact, none of my airbags deployed. My vehicle sustained significant damage and was declared a total loss. I sustained serious injuries in this crash and continue to experience long-term, life-altering effects. Given the force of the collision and the extent of the damage, I am concerned about why the airbag system did not deploy and whether there may be a defect in the airbag or crash sensor system. I am submitting this complaint so the incident can be reviewed and investigated to determine whether this presents a broader safety issue.

I was driving the car and had been noticing an aroma, that I couldn't identify all morning. I happened to look over to the passenger side of the car and smoke was coming from the front of the seat. It was just about to catch fire. The seat heater was on and I turned it off. I poured water from a water bottle on the burned spot, that is about the size of your hand, and it sizzled until it cooled down. I contacted my dealer and sent them a photo. They had never heard of this occurring on any vehicle with heated seats ever happening before.

The car's OBD (on board diagnostic) is not functional. This means that if a check engine light comes on it's impossible for the mechanic to know why. This means the car can never complete a state inspection and more seriously if there's an electrical problem, could result in a fire. I took the car to a Ford dealership and they verbally told me that lots of Ford cars are having this problem and that it is a manufacturing problem, not a specific problem only with my car. They want anywhere from $1600 - $4000 to repair/reprogram the OBD. They told me that they've done this "repair" for many customers and it's a manufacturing problem. In my opinion this should be a recall, not a repair customers have to pay for, most importantly because it could be dangerous bc mechanics can't access the car info if the check engine light comes on, and also the car can never be inspected which is not the fault of the car owner.

I am reporting a premature transmission failure on my 2022 Ford Bronco at approximately 85,000 miles. The vehicle required a full transmission replacement after experiencing internal transmission failure described by a Ford service manager as “something came apart inside the transmission.” The dealership quoted $13,000 for transmission replacement. Independent transmission specialists quoted approximately half that amount, indicating the dealership pricing is inflated. A major drivetrain failure at this mileage is abnormal and suggests a manufacturing defect. This issue renders the vehicle unsafe and unreliable and occurred far earlier than the expected life of a transmission. I am concerned this represents a systemic defect in Ford Bronco transmissions and request this complaint be documented and investigated.

Recurring Safety Defect: Powertrain Cooling System Failure causing Engine Overheating, Coolant Intrusion, and Loss of Motive Power. The vehicle has experienced three catastrophic cooling system failures within a 9-month period, posing a crash and fire risk. Incident 1 (February 2025): Water pump failure caused significant coolant loss. Diagnosed and repaired by authorized dealer under warranty. Incident 2 (June 2025): Vehicle leaked coolant and emitted visible smoke and burning odors from the exhaust. Dealer diagnosed internal turbocharger failure resulting in coolant intrusion into the engine and exhaust system. The catalytic converter was damaged by coolant burn-off and required replacement. This failure kept the vehicle out of service for 38 days. Incident 3 (November 2025): The vehicle engine overheated again while driving, triggering the "Fail-Safe" cooling mode. This resulted in a sudden reduction of motive power (limp mode), creating a collision hazard at highway speeds. The Check Engine light illuminated. Dealer diagnosis confirmed codes P1285 (Cylinder Head Overtemperature) and P05A1 (Active Grille Shutter failure). The manufacturer's dealer has confirmed the current failure but refuses to acknowledge it as part of the recurring powertrain thermal defect. The safety risk involves sudden deceleration in traffic due to overheating protection mode and potential fire risk from repeated coolant leaks onto hot engine components. The vehicle is currently at the dealer and available for inspection.

Transmission failed, Ford diagnosed it as needing the torque converter replaced, however, after this was fixed at a transmission shop, the problem persisted and that mechanic said the transmission needs to be rebuilt. My safety was out at risk when my vehicle stalled at an intersection and would not accelerate. Also, on two occasions, when the vehicle was put into reverse, it jerked forward and did not go backwards. Luckily nothing was hit in front of my vehicle, although it could have due to being in a parking spot when theirs happened. Ford confirmed an issue on 11/3/25 and another independent mechanic replaced the converter, but stayed the transmission needs to be rebuilt after that did not correct the problem. He states that the torque converter would not cause the reverse issues. Initially, no warning lamps came on, but now the wrench light and check engine light are on. Ford app gave two errors, one on 11/13/25: Powertrain malfunction/reduced power What Is Happening? The transmission control module has detected a concern when trying to shift to 8th gear. A failsafe logic disables 7th gear for the remainder of this key cycle. What Should I Do? Have your vehicle checked by an authorized dealer as soon as possible And one on 11/21/25 Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power: What Is Happening? The powertrain control system has detected one of the transmission clutches did not apply within the expected time as expected. Some transmission gears may not being available resulting in delayed or harsh shifts into another gear. Additional alerts that may provide additional information may accompany this alert. What Should I Do? Have your vehicle checked by an authorized dealer as soon as possible. BACK OVER PREVENTIONNovember 19, 2025
At approximately 7:00 p.m., it was already dark, and I relied on my vehicle’s rear parking-aid sensor to assist me while backing out of my driveway. However, the rear collision/parking-aid sensor did not activate and provided no audible or visual warnings. Because the sensor failed to operate, I continued reversing and unintentionally collided with a vehicle parked across the street. The malfunctioning sensor is still installed on the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. The absence of any warning put my safety and the safety of others at risk, as I had no indication that another vehicle was behind me. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms before the incident, and the failure was first noticed when the expected alert did not occur. After the accident, I contacted a Ford dealership and confirmed that the sensor had not activated at the time of the incident. I also verified afterward, in daylight conditions, that the sensor does work normally and provides warnings when objects are behind the vehicle. The issue has not yet been reproduced or inspected in person by a dealer or an independent service center, and the manufacturer has not examined the component. My insurance company has been notified of the collision.

At 36,0000 miles I had no heat. The water pump failed and was fixed under powertrain warranty. At 41000 miles (just over warranty) the AC stopped working. The condenser failed and was my responsibility to pay. Ford did work out a deal with me on that repair due to all of the other issues I had previously. Currently, my drivers side back seatbelt does not work, the car shudders when driving and recently my forward collision indicator goes off for no reason. I have not reached out to have these items checked yet as I have spent far to much time dealing with Ford. I bought this car to feel safe and confident on the road and I have never felt that. The lack of compassion from Ford for all the money wasted in missed work and repairs because they cannot produce a quality vehicle is abhorrent.

They sent me 2 papers about recalls and refused to fix it. Whatsoever, they tell me the fuel injection has to go out so they would fix it before even though they know it's bad. The second is a seat belt that click sometimes so basically they won't fix that either until it breaks completely. So what they're saying is basically the car can one be set on fire and 2 when I'm in a car crash, and I go through the window and If it fails, then they'll fix the problems. Is my understanding of it even though they're admitting there's a recall and they're refusing. To fix ithen, they said. Then when you've been at the software to fix the feeling injection problem. So why they selling cars? They don't have the software to fix the car.So I want something done about it.[XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I own a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport (VIN: [XXX] ) that experienced a premature and unsafe transmission failure at about 75,000 miles. The issue began earlier with jerking and hesitation after stops and worsened until the vehicle displayed “Transmission Not in Park” and would not start. This created a dangerous situation at intersections and parking areas. Sioux City Ford diagnosed the issue and replaced the valve body under partial goodwill in July 2025, but the problem persisted. My service advisor said the new valve needed to “relearn” after 700 miles, but symptoms continued and the vehicle eventually became undriveable. I contacted Ford multiple times and was assigned case numbers, but received no resolution. The transmission was later confirmed failed by an independent certified shop, which replaced it at my expense ($7,711.96) along with towing ($246.10) and rental costs ($511.63). The defective parts remain available for inspection. This is a 2022 vehicle with less than 80,000 miles, and a complete transmission failure at this mileage is unreasonable and unsafe. Many other Bronco Sport owners have reported similar failures, jerking, and “Transmission Not in Park” errors linked to Ford’s 8F35 transmission. Ford has also issued Recall 24V-267000 and TSB 22B38 for related issues. This failure is not isolated and poses a significant safety concern for drivers. As you may know, my Ford Bronco 2022 is under NHTSA Recall 25V467 as of July 2025. October is approaching, and so far, Ford Motor Company has not found any remedy for this problem, which can not only cause a spontaneous engine fire, but can also cause the death of those inside the vehicle or a serious accident if it occurs while driving. My vehicle is for daily use, and I have to transport my son to school every day, risking his life and mine, with the uncertainty of the vehicle catching fire. I ask that you consider requiring Ford Motor Company to collect these vehicles or exchange them for others of the same value that are not at risk.

Potential systemic issue: I purchased the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport on 06Aug2025 which is still within its warranty period. During the test drive I identified the Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) wasn't operable. The dealership stated yes that model does have it and that it is not working. All safety settings were verified on and that it should be functioning but isn't. The dealership troubleshot but couldn't identify the issue. The dealership then contacted the Ford maintenance headquarters twice and received responses to the effect of "Where looking into it" with no path forward or timeline to correct the issue. Important considerations and information: 1. This is an important safety feature that people assume is working if turned on. This is no alarm or error code showing that it has malfunctioned. 2. While driving the Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) alarms went on twice at different times. There was no vehicle in front of me, and it didn't attempt to brake. If it did auto-brake this could've caused someone to rear end me. 3. I was given loaner Ford Bronco sport, and the same safety feature and others didn't work in that one either. This leads me to think this is a systemic malfunction and not a one-off. 4. All other safety features work 5. Ford Headquarters customer service opened case# CXH-XXX. Phone: [XXX] ext. 79202. Case owner is [XXX] 6. There are two versions of Ford Co-pilot 360 which most customers don't know of. One has dynamic cruise control, and the other doesn't. My 2022 Ford Bronco Sport started making grinding noises when I would back up at an angle earlier this summer. I made an appointment and took the car to the dealership. However, due to trouble getting parts, the dealership has had my car for seven weeks now. I have had multiple issues with my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport in the past 3 years and there have been multiple recalls. The ac failed at the 2 year mark and the rear brakes also started to make an odd noise intermittently when I would have the vehicle in reverse. I reported it and asked Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax, VA to check it twice (this is the dealership I purchased the vehicle from - I had them check it on 7/3/24 and 9/28/24 and have service records confirming) and they said they could find nothing wrong and there was no recall for it and there was nothing they could do (keeping in mind my vehicle was under warranty at that time). Fast forward to today, I go in for an oil change and mention the rear brakes are making noise again and ask if they can check it for me. They told me there is now a remedy for the issue, acknowledging there wasn't in the past. I mentioned at the time that I had reported and asked about it twice and why should I now have to pay for that when clearly this is a defect that should have been addressed by Ford when I initially reported it (keeping in mind that my vehicle is now out of warranty). Then they tell me I need to replace the front brake pads and brake fluid for a cost of over 1k and rear rotors and brake pads for 1200, but admitted the rear brake pads are not that bad and can wait. I do not ride my brakes and have no history of that in any vehicle I've ever owned, so I did some research and learn that this is an issue with the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport which seems to have MANY issues. Ford is not acknowledging any of the issues that this specific year/make/model has. I clearly alerted them to an issue a year ago and they claimed to have no solution but now they magically do once it's out of warranty? Clearly having defective brakes is a safety issue, not to mention the fuel injector issue that is under recall - apparently Ford doesn't have the part for that either. Please issue a recall for the defective brake pads and rotors.

I have a 2022 Ford Bronco Big Bend that I bought brand new, and just three years later, the transmission completely failed—without any warning signs. No lights, no noises, no slow shifting. It just suddenly died while I was driving and left me stranded in the middle of the highway, which was incredibly dangerous. I immediately tried to move over to the right lane, but the car was behaving erratically— accelerating, slowing down, braking, then speeding up again on its own. Once it was taken to the mechanic, they found the shifter wasn’t even functioning properly. When placed in neutral, the car would accelerate. When placed in drive, it would go backward, and when in reverse, it would go forward. It was officially diagnosed with transmission failure after I had it towed to my nearest dealership. I’ve maintained this vehicle responsibly and have never driven it roughly or taken it off-road. Still, I was quoted nearly $10,000 to replace the transmission, which is outrageous for a three-year-old SUV. Ford refuses to cover the repair, even though this seems like a serious manufacturing issue. I’m still making payments on the vehicle, and now it’s completely unusable. I’ve heard of similar things happening to other ford broncos and I want there to be a full recall because it’s clearly a major problem.

I originally submitted a claim in November before I received the diagnostic report back on my trasmission, so this is the updated information. On November 1, 2024, I was driving to work and my transmission failed. I service my car very regularly at the same Ford dealership and they know how much I drive, so I always listen their recommendations for matienance. I did take my to a transmission specialist to rebuild my transmission as well as diagnose the mode of failure for my transmission. When I asked him whether it was wear and tear or something else, he told me he did not believe that it was wear and tear and that it was due to something internally coming off and overtime hitting my transmission gears and overtime it was starting to hit some of the lower gears and by that time my transmission failed. This is a somewhat newer car. I have spend almost $5000 just to rebuild my tranmission on a two year old car. There is no way for me to be able to anticipate this happening, it sounds like a manufacter defect to have something come off internally. The only way to diagnose it as well is to take apart the transmission which alone costs hundreds of dollars. I did reach out to the service shop to get a written statement of what happened from the techinican. If there is anything else I need to support my case, please let me know.

After calling the dealership for months about the "fix" Ford was suppose have before the 4th quarter of 2024, but did not, now does not want to repair these vehicles under the warranty when the issue started and was bought to their attention. They have since stated that the repair is to replace the rear rotors and brakes as they had bearings that were coming apart causing this noise, but does not want to honor this repair. The dealership was well aware of the issue and could only advise me and others to please be patient until Ford approved a remedy for this issue, which me and many others did. We just want this to be a recall so that it can be covered as this could have caused serious issues had this part come apart upon driving or locking up and cause an accident.

What is the problem? Battery failure after receiving recall 25V019 notice. I was informed in February 2024 that my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport was affected by a battery recall, but that the remedy was not yet available. The battery subsequently failed in April, requiring a paid replacement out of pocket ($313.99). I have attempted to get reimbursement from both the Ford dealership and Ford corporate. Each party continues to deny responsibility and refers me back to the other. Why is this a safety concern? Battery failure left me stranded, requiring a tow. Had I been driving under different conditions (e.g., rural roads or at night), this could have created serious safety risks. The lack of resolution from Ford raises concern about their accountability regarding known defects. What action do you want NHTSA to take? I would like NHTSA to investigate Ford’s failure to reimburse for a known recall issue and hold them accountable for not honoring the recall protection as outlined in federal safety standards.

I have a repair estimate for $3400.00. I reported to the store personnel, the local police, and was examined by emergency medical. It was determined there was no damage to store property and medical personnel found my blood pressure was mildly elevated and the I felt slightly disoriented, but otherwise tested normal. I can only surmise that this was a temporary software malfunction. Braking has returned to normal. I talked to a ford dealer's Rep and he did not know what could have caused it. I pressed harder on the brake, feeling as though I was standing on it. The car did not stop nor slow down. While feeling as though I was standing on the brake the car sped up I would estimate to 5-7 mph. I traveled straight back across the drive lane and continued to back into the parking spot behind me and hit the bumper in that parking causing damage to my lift gate and miscellaneous electrical components and the rear bumper. He also advised I could have diagnostics started for $278.00. I could not afford it at that time. Please note that the police officer said i could pick up the police report, but i have not done so. The water pump began leaking somewhere around 62,000 miles, however there were no visible signs of a leak and no maintenance warnings appeared on the dashboard. I only know there was a leak because I took my Bronco Sport into the Ford dealership to have other recalls repaired and they advised me to have the water pump replaced as it was leaking. I have researched this issue and it appears to be a very common issue with Bronco Sports of all years. This issue can put others or myself at risk because it would be very easy for the engine to run out of coolant and seize up in potentially very dangerous traffic situations. Because Ford doesn't have a way for Bronco Sport drivers to come aware of this issue unless vigilantly checking coolant levels every week, it would be very easy for the engine to overheat and stall before the driver can become aware there was even an issue.

On [XXX], the vehicle overheated during a commute, resulting in a blown radiator cap and an empty engine coolant reservoir. Coolant levels had been properly maintained up to that point. The following day, engine coolant was again low, though no visible leaks were found. On April 12, I requested warranty service but was told “services aren’t rendered on Saturdays” despite the service department being open. An appointment was scheduled for April 14 to inspect the overheating damage and address recall #25502. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) When I arrived on April 14, I was denied service due to the department being “backed up and understaffed.” I expressed concern about further driving the car in its condition, but Service Advisor Bill Crovo insisted it was safe to drive and denied my request to leave the vehicle on-site. I was also not offered a complimentary vehicle or alternative transportation. On April 17, I called to escalate the matter. The General Service Manager, Chris Gagnon, not only dismissed my concerns but stated he could refuse service on a vehicle that is clearly under active warranty coverage. This is not only unprofessional — it is illegal under Massachusetts consumer protection law. At this point, I was forced to seek help from other dealerships, one of which advised me to pressure the selling dealership to fulfill its obligation. I called back, and Mr. Gagnon assured me the issue would be handled. The vehicle was taken in on April 18, and the water pump was replaced. On April 24, I picked it up and drove just 21 miles before the engine began making an unfamiliar noise and the coolant reservoir was, once again, empty. I got the vehicle towed to a different dealership, Salem Ford in New Hampshire. The second dealership confirmed — in writing — that the first dealership skipped a critical step during the water pump replacement, directly causing the continued issue.

Since I bought this car the brakes have been making loud noises when going in reverse. Bought in 2022 and noticed immediatly - Daytona Ford made modification to brakes on a brand new car - and to date still hearing the same noise. I have had it in multiple times and have asked to have someone listen to the brakes and stated they cannot replicate. It's so loud now that it's embarrassing to drive and only has 26k miles. It makes a moaning noise like a dying whale or something. I have an appointment on Monday with Ford in Durham - so lets see what they say about the constant loud and ongoing noises with the rear brakes.

I was trying to park my vehicle and it started blinking and saying park is not available, vehicle is not in park. Place the park brake before exiting the vehicle. I was on a downward slope, so I found an area where it was flat and tried to restart my vehicle, but it was doing the same thing. I had to go to work, so I parked my car and placed the brake on. Later I went out on lunch and the car wouldn't start. I had to call a tow truck because Ford refused to come tow my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport or give me a loaner. The next day after Ford replaced my battery, they told me my car now had transmission issues that were not there before I had a dead battery. I know there is a recall on the 12v battery, but a remedy has not yet been issued and many customers are suffering. I asked about the recall or my warranty and I was basically laughed at because I have too many miles on my car. Why is a vehicle manufacturer able to continuly sell recalled vehicles and leave lives at stake for a recall that can end up killing someone?
LANE DEPARTUREApril 18, 2025
We have, since buying the vehicle new in 2022, experienced sporadic severe lane keeping assist OVER Correction or dangerously aggressive correction both when there is not an actual lane crossing and no correction is needed and when slightly drifting over lines on the outer right side of roadways. The severe jerking /over correction has caused the vehicle to go OFF of the shoulder of the road in many incidents OR to go into oncoming traffic lane. When we had the recall performed that was meant to reprogram the pcm we were told that "hopefully your issues with that will be resolved" . They were not and have continued for as long as we've had the vehicle. This phenomenon is not able to be reproduced under any specific circumstances nor does an error display when this happens, therefore cannot get diagnosed by dealer service Dept. This has not yet, but has come very close to causing accidents, one particularly frightening instance the vehicle was unnecessarily jerked off the side of a 2 lane road with a narrow shoulder that dropped off into forest. A similar incident the vehicle was unnecessarily and spontaneously jerked again to the shoulder of the road where I was almost thrown into a ditch next to a farm field. This could put drivers and passengers at risk of otherwise preventable accidents. These occurrences typically occur when roadways are not perfectly straight with bends or curves on the roadway OR in busy traffic at higher speeds ( such as city interstates)

On April 8th 2025 our vehicle went into "limp mode" for the third time in 6 months. The previous incidents were part of an active recall and we're repaired by a does dealership. This time it is supposedly the failure of a fuel pump sensor causing the issue (per ford service diagnosis) which they say is NOT covered by fords recall nor is it covered under any warranty and must be paid for out of pocket. This repeat occurrence has caused our vehicle to stall in traffic not just when at stops but also just when turning or pulling onto streets or highway. This has happened while crossing busy streets putting the lives of our family at RISK MULTIPLE times. Ford refuses to pay for rental vehicles while our vehicle has been in repair for this issue and also while the vehicle is in an unsafe condition to drive. This also causes undo hardship for our family as we are not able to pay for a rental vehicle for extended amounts of time while our vehicle is in an unsafe state. I am highly concerned that Ford is trying to "wash their hands" of this vehicle and avoid true remedy the overwhelming evidence of problems of these vehicles. I have included the previous invoices for the recall repairs that caused this. I have not yet received the invoice for the repair being done currently as of 4/17/2025 .There are additional safety issues we've encountered with the "safety features" of the vehicle that i will be submitting separately.
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCEApril 17, 2025
The collision warning alert goes of sporadically at the most random times when there is actually no threat at all around the vehicle. This will cause (as it is intended to do) the driver to reactively fully apply the break quickly, which could cause injury such as whiplash in an unnecessary event or worst case a rear end collision. This has happened when driving down straight roads with no other vehicles. This has happened when going around bends in the road. This has also happened when driving next to things like corn fields, through forestry areas, next to road signs, etc. No error message occurs or anything and this does not seem to have a specific environment for reproduction. Simply just happens randomly.

To: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE Washington, DC 20590 Subject: Complaint Regarding Ford's Handling of Battery Recall (Recall 25S02 / 24S24) Dear NHTSA, I’m writing out of growing frustration and serious concern over how Ford is handling, or rather, not handling, the battery recall affecting my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. My vehicle is part of the battery recall (25S02 and 24S24), which clearly states that affected batteries could swell, fail, or even lead to power loss. That’s exactly what’s happened to mine. The battery in my vehicle is swollen and defective, and now the car won’t start at all. It’s not just an inconvenience, it’s a safety issue. I’ve called several local Ford dealerships trying to get the battery replaced, but none of them have helped me. I’ve also reached out to Ford’s customer service line multiple times, and I’ve been given the runaround every time, told to call a dealer, told it’s not covered, or simply dismissed. Plus, they told me that I should contact the NHTSA to lodge a formal complaint. It’s incredibly frustrating to be stuck like this when there’s an active recall for this exact issue. The battery is visibly swollen, and I’m worried this could become dangerous if it continues to degrade. At this point, I feel like Ford is ignoring its responsibility to fix a known safety defect, and I’m left without a working vehicle, and no clear path forward. Please look into this. I don’t believe I’m the only one experiencing this issue, and the fact that Ford is refusing to replace a clearly defective part under an open recall is unacceptable. Vehicle VIN: [XXX] Phone: [XXX] Email: [XXX] Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, [XXX] Sanford, NC INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

They all tell me if it’s part of the 12V battery degradation recall they can’t do anything until the remedy comes out. But that is reported as Q2 at the earliest. This is my only mode of transportation and it is a huge safety risk.

I was approaching a stop light which turned green and as i slowed down my vehicle's power stopped. The vechicle notice said shift to park. I had to turn the car off - in the middle of a busy road - and turn it back on. it took a couple of tries. This was incredibly dangerous as cars almost hit me as the light was green. Ford knows about this recall but just sent us a notice saying to keep drving it but "be careful" and they will get a fix in the next quarter. I must drive but i do not feel like it is safe. why are people allowed to drive these cars that they know are in danger of stalling. They should all be told to stop driving these cars and give them a replacement until they can get it fixed. I have had to have the battery replaced in this vehicle several months ago despite very low mileage because the car would not start and it seems to be related to this same 12v battery issue. The vehicle has strong exhaust fumes inside. It has gotten so bad people at work smell it on me. I even went to the doctor because I was trying to fall asleep while driving, I am confused when I first arrive places, my lungs feel like I am inhaling fire, I have the most painful headaches, and I am nauseous around the times I drive my car. My two girls are experiencing the same problems. But if we do not drive the Bronco on the weekends, no problems. My husband put it on the life at home and there are bolts missing from the dust shield, the ones there are loose, he had to tighten the bolts on the heads, and the convertor has “hot spots” on it. I have to drive at all times with a window down. The exhaust fumes can be smelled from outside as well. I have taken it to the dealer and was told there was no smell. I am scared at this point to drive it.

The contact stated that the dealer had previously repaired the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V267000 (Electrical System, Power Train); however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the vehicle required a jumpstart to start, and while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine and another unknown warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the second dealer, Babbitt Ford (11 N Verde St, Flagstaff, AZ 86001), who updated the PCM software and replaced the canister purge valve (CPV), but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to Walmart and the battery was replaced. The failure persisted. The vehicle was towed back to the first dealer, who checked the battery and informed the contact that the battery had not failed. The contact was also informed that she had to pay for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

First the battery was drained and needed replaced. Then message on center navigation screen displays “System Off to Save Battery. Please turn ignition off or start engine” when entering the car before trying to start it. Then I was notified of a recall that needed to be done. The recall was for “the body control module bcm and powertrain control module pcm calibrations may be unable to detect a sudden change in the 12-VOLT battery state of charge during a drive cycle.” The safety risk of this recall was as follows: “If the bcm and pcm calibrations are unable to detect a sudden battery degradation during a drive, the vehicle may be unable to restart after an auto stopstart event or may experience a stall while coming to a stop at low speed. The vehicle may also lose 12-VOLT accessories, including hazard lights. A loss of motive power can increase the risk of a crash.” The Ford Service Center did a software update to resolve this recall. Then the car started displaying a message on the dashboard front screen “Charging System Service Soon” and the battery light would be on. I also got a notification from my Ford app saying “Charge System Fault” “Indicates that there is a 12V charging system fault”.The car was taken to the Ford Service Center immediately and they said it just needed reprogrammed. The issue seemed to be solved on the short 5 minute drive home. The next day the car displayed the same “System Off to Save Battery” message on the middle navigation screen and “ Charging System Service Soon” message on the front dashboard screen. While driving the entire front dashboard electrical system turned off right after flashing multiple messages “front camera & pre collision assist not available”, no headlights and power steering went out, This happens randomly but happens every single time the car is driven. It is no longer safe to drive at night with no lights and no way to see any displays. Ford has been contacted with no response and service center will not see it.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEMJanuary 26, 2025
The electrical system seemed to be experiencing temporary failure at stop lights. It initially seemed to be associated with the auto start/stop feature. However, one day the system would turn on (dash, radio, and air) however the engine would not turn over. The 3rd main incident was after purchasing a new battery (one week after doing so, to be exact) and the car wouldn't even open with a key fob. Everything was dead and the system said it only had a 20% charge left after being jumped and driven. My safety was at risk as I have a long commute and had the first battery incident happen nearly 1.5 hours from my home. My safety was also at risk for each of the three times that my car stalled at red lights, not knowing why or how to retart my car during heavily trafficked times. When stating my issues to the dealership (I've been having the stalling at lights issue for 5 months) they brushed the facts aside. When telling them my battery was dead after it being a week old, they said it was probably installed wrong (even though battery was replaced at reputable establishment and not personally installed) The issues started around August or September. I had called the dealership (as I've had all work done at the dealership I purchased the vehicle from other than the replacement battery). The engine light was on the time I was stranded at work (when I was able to get the radio on, but not able to get the engine to turn over). Shortly before the complete power failure, I had a "charging system error" light flash on and disappear. All of these issues were brought to the attention of the dealership in a timely manner. I had assumed they were related to the last recall that was in July, but I was given generic and un-sympathetic or relevant answers and was told I'd just have to keep paying diagnostic fees each time there was an issue and for each separate issue, even thought they all seemed centered around electrical/power issues.

I had a recall for “computer module programming done by Ford on my 2022 Bronco sport 38k miles on [XXX]. The next day my car shut off while at a light not auto/start on off. But sputtered and lost power. The next day it would not start right away. On [XXX] I parked at my children’s school in a temporary spot. Went to back up and my car was stuck trying to turn in and off for a solid 10 minutes. There was also a burning smell of something. No smoke. I finally could turn it off quickly randomly and then it would not start again. We jumped it by tow truck and took it home because the dealership said at 3 years 38k miles it was not under warranty. So my husband took the battery out and had it tested. It tested 100% at Autozone an hour later. Whatever recall they preformed caused my car to drain the battery or lost power. No way a car with only 38k miles and maintenance done every time at Ford regularly should even have a problem like this. It’s so frustrating. Cabin exhaust smell = leaking catalytic converter. 4 months and 5 trips for a diagnosis/solution. Car was smelling like exhaust in the cabin. Improved with air recirculation button ON. Worse in the AM, especially with remote start on cold mornings, and when stopped/parked. Told there was no smell, changed cabin filters / ac deodorizer ($200 out of pocket), “ford doesn’t have any other complaints on exhaust smell in the cabin”, “could not replicate”. After multiple forum searches/my own research, and insisting the catalytic converter was the problem, they agreed to let me leave it overnight for a cold start in the AM. Finally diagnosed with leaking catalytic converter. They replaced it and now the smell is completely gone. There was also a small rattle on acceleration, near the gas pedal, like a tiny rock in a tin can, that I assume was related because it is gone since the replacement.

Over the past year my Bronco Sport has thrown two different codes, powertrain malfunction and collision assist unavailable, and put me in limp mode, 25 times. And the last several times it has gone into limp mode it is accompanied by a weird smell. It has been on the hoist several times at the Ford dealership Service Center having parts replaced to “fix” this issue. But nothing they try has fixed it. They even had a Ford Corporate technician call and walk them through what to try/test/fix. It’s been on the hoist being “fixed” again a couple of times since then. They said they would fly a Ford Engineer out to “fix” it over a month ago but have not done so. It’s terrifying when it goes in to limp mode because I can’t GO. I just pray I don’t get slammed in to every time it throws these codes and puts me in limp mode. The most recent occurrence was just today!

I've experienced 3 of these Vehicle Network Communication Errors while driving, two of which were recent and after the problem was supposedly fixed at the dealership. Most recent event failure event occured 11/14/24 during rain. This is a frightening and serious problem. The car is back at the dealership now, awaiting inspection again since their first fix wasn't a fix. While driving there are sudden alerts as half a dozen errors flash/display sequentially on the dash, including warnings as Pre collision assist unavailable, Hill Assist, Service AdvanceTrac, the wrench symbol with See Manual, etc. Then the dash and controls go totally black and the screen displays the Vehicle Network Communication Error and everything (except the engine and wipers apparently) shuts down, No defroster, spedo, tach, heater, turn signals, exterior lights? Basically driving becomes very unsafe and scary, without safety. I have pictures and a video my wife took while riding with me the second time this happened. When I get home and shut off the car, wait awhile, it partially resets itself but still displays the wrench symbol and service Advance Trac idiot lights illuminated. Overnight it seems to reset totally, until the next episode. Its exhibited thie failure when sunny and dry and also when it rains, so seemingly not an environmental cause. This is extremely dangerous since no defroster or lights/signals, gauges, spedometer. So far the engine has kept running so I can at least head home and get off the road. I see there is an NHSTA investigation on Broncos for power loss. Please add my complaint for investigation of this serious defect. I would be glad to discuss further if helpful. Thanks!

June 28th, 2024; the entire car turned off on its own while I was waiting for a red light. The engine was primarily off from the auto-start feature, like normal, except after I let go of the brake the entire car just shuts off. The start button would not press, the brake pedal was insanely stiff to press, and the dashboard had all the lights turned on an off, and I couldn't change gears whatsoever. Many displays on the dash appeared, parking brake was forced to turn on, pre-collision feature disabled, "System off to save battery" on the main screen, etc. I was in the middle of traffic, so I was putting myself and others in danger while my car suddenly shuts off without prior warning. There was never an indication that this would happen, and I only had the car for a year and a half, so I would think the only problem would be the system itself. I managed to turn the car on by putting the key fob on the center console where the Bronco can read it, and it immediately turned on after an hour. The dealership did check it out right after and said it only needed a small system update. Ever since, the car was fine until July 24th: the car did not start again. I was home and my car was parked, so no danger this time. However, I tried laying the key on the console again, including my spare key, but no luck. I had originally thought it was the battery in my key that was low, but it was working fine like always. However, when I locked the car, the horn and lights were faded, and weren't as strong as it should sound. Although this is the second occurrence in about a month, I've only had the dealership inspect it once. I am available for inspection after August 1st. Thank you.

On Monday [XXX], I was driving my vehicle home when I received the following error messages while driving: -pre collision assist not available -service advancetrac -check park aid -service vehicle soon -front camera fault service required -front camera fault service required -shift sys fault service required I was able to make it home and got my car towed to Washington Ford (Washington,PA) the next day. Ok Wednesday [XXX], I received the following message from Washington ford “ Your vehicle is done and ready to pick up. On Thursday night, I was driving home after 12am when I received all the same above error messages that I noted as well as losing power steering and control of all my lights (headlights, turn signals, hazard lights). I had the car towed again the next day back to Washington Ford. Since then they have not been able to duplicate the problem and that there’s nothing more they can do. I was told “my vehicle is ready to pick up” but couldn’t guarantee it was safe to drive In April of 2024, Ford recalled 456,000 Ford broncos for “ because the vehicles may fail to detect a low battery charge, which could lead to a loss of engine and electrical power while driving.” Which is the exact issue I had with my vehicle two times in 3 days, however my vehicles VIN wasn’t included in that recalled. On May 13th, 2024 expanded the recall and my vehicle was included this time. I was told there was no remedy for the recall at this time and they were expecting a new update on May 29th, 2024 but in the meantime they are not offering me a rental car and told me my only option is to get a rental car myself if I feel that the car is unsafe to drive. The rear brakes seem to drag and make a loud noise when in reverse. We have taken the car that is sill under Ford warranty to Hertrich Ford dealership in Elkton Maryland. They attempted a “modification” and informed us that Ford Engineers have not come up with a fix yet as many Ford Broncos and Ford Escapes are experiencing the same problem. We asked for the Ford Field Service Engineer for our geographical area to look at the car but no response to our request to date. We asked to speak with Tommy Allen foreman of service at Heirtrich Ford and no response as to date. The dragging sensation and loud noise when the car is in reverse is worse since Heirtrich Ford made the modification to the vehicle. Brakes do not feel right when car is in reverse.

Vehicle started on its own, no remote start scheduled or activity. Online forums suggested battery failure and two days later battery was dead. Battery replaced. Filed complaint with Ford seeking answers regarding safety concerns and took to Ford dealership for inspection and service. Vehicle was also in same dealership twice for maintenance service and brakes within two weeks of the mystery start incident. Ford found 15 U codes relating to battery or electrical failures, reset battery monitoring systems and returned vehicle. I don’t have any explanation from Ford as to why or how the vehicle started, Ford has not denied it, but they have not provided any reason for me to believe the vehicle is safe to keep driving and parking in an enclosed space. I asked Ford if they are aware of the risk and they only response I received, is they asked me to keep monitoring the vehicle and if I experience any problems to bring it back to the dealership.

Cracked Fuel Injector. I went on the Ford Website to find the vehicle I wanted. The website stated "dealer ordered." I put a deposit on it in August and my vehicle was delivered the second week of October. I noticed several times that a gas smelled filled my cabin so when I was mailed the recall... It all made sense and I was the first one in line for recall. I also noticed that smoke would come from under the hood after it was parked. I initially thought that is was because it was very cold out and I had the heat on. I thought at first it was steam but it happened again on a normal cold day. When I went for my recall, I told the service tech that I smelled gas in my cabin several times and mentioned the smoke. They scheduled me for the recall repair. After the recall was done, I asked them why they didn't replace the fuel injector, my truck had 5000 miles on it. They said the recall will fix it . It is April now and I do not smell gas but I seen smoke come from under my hood definitely once, maybe twice since then. I am not convinced the recall fixed the problem. I also contacted ford when I had the recall done and I was given a case number. Since I read about this issue coming up again for Ford and you investigating on why they are not replacing the fuel injects, I now have another case open with Ford. I wanted the fuel injectors replaced the first time... They were under warranty...The recall did not solve the problem.

On [XXX] I began my drive from Miami, FL to SF, CA for my next travel nurse assignment. Three hours into my drive, I stop for gas and return to the highway. I remember accelerating to catch up to traffic and moving into the left lane. Then I remember abruptly seeing brake lights ahead, braking hard, and the collision warning system going off. I was braking for several seconds and it became clear to me that I was going to crash into the vehicle in front of me. Immediately upon impact, my Bronco Sport caught fire. I felt the heat. I smelled the fire and fumes. I saw people running towards me, yelling for me to get out of my burning car. The airbag went off and I sustained minor injury to my right hand. At that point, my priority was to locate my cat inside my perfectly packed vehicle with all of my most important possessions. I grabbed my cat, my phone, and my purse and escaped as flames overtook my SUV. The Nissan Rouge in front of me sustained some rear bumper damage but overall relatively minor exterior damages. I am in awe that what should have been a minor collision turned into escaping a burning car with my cat and watching my everything burn away. I struggle with PTSD from the accident. The Bronco was well-maintained. I had the recall repaired, along with oil change and tire rotation in November, prior to driving from Southern California to my home in Miami in early December. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The insurance company did not choose to pursue any investigation on why this happened. I’ve tried to find answers and have not been successful. The Ford dealership where I purchased the Bronco has been less than helpful and even normalized that this happens sometimes. Four months later and I’m still waiting to get refunded for all the extra extended warranties that I bought for a vehicle that I planned on having for a long time. No one seems concerned that my car caught fire instantly. This should not have happened. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On [XXX] I drove my 2022 Bronco to the local car wash, after washing my vehicle the vehicle would not start. I realized it was the battery when no electronics turned on. This occurred in the midafternoon, and I was fortunate to be parked in an area that was busy. Had this occurred at night this would not be a safe area to be in alone and for a female. I contacted AAA for a jump and also Taylor Ford so that I could bring the vehicle into them to look at the battery. They put the vehicle on their machine and stated nothing was wrong with the battery. I was advised to lock the doors when I park the vehicle after use this may resolve the issue. On [XXX] the battery was once again dead. I put the battery on a charger and contacted Taylor Ford about the situation. I brought it back and they stated I would have to make an appointment. The delay is over a month for me to get into them to look at the problem. The vehicle sends a message in Ford Pass that it is going into sleep mode which indicates that the battery is starting to weaken. This issue with the battery puts me in a situation which may eventually cause me to be stranded and at risk for my safety if this occurs in an isolated area. The brakes have been a problem since I purchased the vehicle new a little over a year ago. They make a loud noise after sitting for too long, plus the calipers seem to "stick". Took it in and they looked at the transmission fluid said it was darker than usual for the mileage (14,000) and recommended a fluid flush that’s not covered by warranty. They changed fluid and I ask why it was doing this they said “ well that’s why we changed the fluid” which tells me nothing! Now the engine compartment rattle in gear and the transmission temperature after driving only 5 miles is hot enough to fry an egg on so my guess is it runs too hot and is burning or oxidation why else would it be black?

This all started within the last two months. I purchased my 2022 Bronco brand new drove off the lot with 12 miles. At this point I don't feel safe putting myself or my family back in this vehichle. It needs to be recalled!

We keep getting error messages on the vehicle's information screen that says "The restraints control module has detected a fault with the driver seatbelt buckle sensor circuit". The airbag warning indicator light stays on and the alert occurs numerous times randomly while driving the vehicle. We are afraid that if we get into an accident the airbags might not deploy. We have taken vehicle to dealer for service (it is under new car warranty) and we were told a part is on order, but we've waited for two weeks and we feel unsafe driving it.

While driving my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport several alerts flashed in the dash area including lane assist, front end collision and even just a wrench in a box. All audio was lost. Then the entire dash went dark. All information in the instrument panel disappeared. The tachometer and speedometer both dropped to 0. I had no turn signals and could not determine which gear the vehicle was in. The engine continued to run and I could accelerate and slow down. Eventually everything came back on. This has happened several times and the Ford dealership has had the vehicle 3 times and have not been able to recreate the problem or resolve the issue. Most recently I started the vehicle and the instrument panel immediately went dark. I drove the car for approximately 10 minutes without knowing how fast I was going, what gear I was in, or if I even had working brake lights. I am listing the most recent date below. This has happened on May 4 and 7, July 17 and 18, July 24 and 25, 2023.

I purchased my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport in February last year. Approximately two months after purchasing it, my windshield was cracked and it was replaced. Approximately three months after replacing it, a rock hit it while I was driving on the highway and it cracked again. Both times, the crack spread across the whole windshield. My co-worker went to her car at our job, came back into the building and asked me if I knew my car rear window was broken. I went to my vehicle and found my rear window was totally shattered. My supervisor reviewed our video surveillance footage and saw nothing. My rear window just shattered. I replaced it. I filed three auto claims last year with a $500 deductible. My windshield replacement cost's $1,900.00 to $2,100.00 if I pay out of pocket. Today, 03/23/23, I was driving to work, something hit it hard (assuming a rock) and it now has a small chipped hole and a large s shaped crack on it. I will have to replace it again. Can you help with having Ford put better glass (stronger windshield glass) in their vehicles? I'm afraid of having my auto insurance cancelled or not renewed by State Farm for filing too many auto glass claims. I'm waiting for my agent to call me and discuss my concerns.

I was told as long as the light was not flashing, I could drive the vehicle. I was also told to check the gas cap/door (there is no gas cap!) because there could be an air in the fuel line. As it turned out the light went off the next day. When I took the car in for service, I was told they did the "smoke" test, and everything checked out ok. Brand new vehicle with about 3500 miles on it. Delivered 04/29/2022. On three separate occasions between 07/29/2022 - 07/31/2022, the vehicle started jerking/losing acceleration while driving and the engine began to sputter. Upon slowing down and during idle, the engine would continue sputtering to low RPM and eventually stall. This happened while driving on the road, almost resulting in an accident in a roundabout during one of the instances. The error I received via the Ford Pass app is: The Engine Control System is unable to control the fuel system pressure as expected. This is clearly a defective product, and so far Ford and Ford and Ford dealerships have offered me little options for repair often stating that it could be more than a month to fix with no options for a loaner vehicle. This is unacceptable. I have video proof of one of the incidents I am willing to share, but I cannot upload it to this form.

There is a repeating clicking noise (click, click, click…) every time I turn the steering wheel. It only occurs when it’s above 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Any problem related to the steering, or turning of the vehicle is a safety concern in my opinion. Ford forces the owner to make a service appointment to get the problem inspected (I could not just drive to a dealership). The earliest I could schedule an appointment at one of the three nearest dealerships to me is a week from the day I’m writing this complaint. So I guess I can either keep driving the vehicle in the unsafe condition, or get a rental on my own dime. There are no warning lights or trouble codes related to the issue, and the vehicle only has 3,500 miles on it. I’ve owned it for two months ???.

The current acceleration pedal on this model is made out of hard plastic. While driving your foot slips off the pedal because there is no rubber on the pedal for a better contact. To counter this slippage you have to move the seat closer to the dash. This then becomes a safety issue because you are now too close to the dash to quickly move your foot to the brake pedal when necessary. There is no after market product offered by Ford to correct this matter. This needs to be addressed quickly so Ford can correct this. I don't know how this could not be noticed by the design managers and test team at Ford.
POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEMJuly 19, 2022
The wrench icon which refers to the Powertrain system keeps coming on. I received a message from the Ford pass system that there was (Fault) in the Powertrain system. That power was reduced. Further it said to see a dealer right away. All of the Ford Dealers in my area are all booked up.
POWER TRAINJune 18, 2022
Received a Powertrain malfunction/reduced power warning at 190 miles. Noticed large oil leak on garage floor which turned out was leaking from TPU due to faulty cap. Car has been at dealer for 8 days to replace fluid and cap and no explanation provided for powertrain warning.

Car had 3000 miles on it, started rough idling randomly then the check engine light came on and was flashing. Drove straight to the Ford Dealership in Elko, Nevada and barely made it the 5 miles as the car wanted to die, had gas pedal all the way to the floor and was barely going 30 mph. Dealer has had vehicle for over a week and said a core and plug and deactivator solenoid had to be replaced.
SERVICE BRAKESMay 8, 2022
The manual park release cable is defective and was a recalled issue on the 2021s (SSM 50274). I am experiencing the same rattle noise on my 2022 and have contacted ford multiple times about the issue and the most they are willing to help with at this point is cover 50% of the costs of fixing it. They state that there is no recall on 2022s and only on 2021s. This is a safety issue on a car with less than 1500 miles and has had this issue since around the 400 mile mark. I used a bronco sport forum to find a contact from someone within Ford who looked up my vin and told me my bronco sport has the same part that has been found to be defective on 2021s — my car was built in November 2021 and soon after ford changed the part number that they are putting in the car so that they aren’t using a defective part. I have also found on forums that there are many people experiencing this issue and are similarly being told that there is no recall on 2022s so we are basically out of luck.
SERVICE BRAKESMay 7, 2022
Brakes make a grinding sound at low speed. When in reverse, brakes make a humming sound. This was the same issue that caused a recall of previous models, however my vehicle is not covered by the recall. Took the vehicle to the dealer and they said “we know there is a noise but the brakes are working properly.” The noise is not normal.

Engine makes intermittent metal crunching and scraping sounds at low speeds and when braking in stop an go traffic. And sometimes the sound would be heard the all the time when keeping the car between 25 to 30 mph.
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCEApril 29, 2022
Vehicle's pre-collision assist wasn't working. After taking it to the dealer for repair they stated "VEHICLE ABLE TO DETECT LARGER VEHICLES BUT NOT CARS. DROVE SIMILAR EQUIPPED VEHICLES, WITH THE SAME RESULTS. NO PROBLEM FOUND AT THIS TIME." Ford describes the pre-collision assist as "This feature scans the road ahead and can alert you to potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians detected in your path." This safety feature is supposed to work with pedestrians and vehicles, not "larger vehicles but not cars" "

Car failed to go into drive several times while in traffic. Was bought with zero miles and started making strange grinding and knocking noises immediately. When I reported it I was told I couldn’t get it checked for a month and that it was safe to drive until appointment. I was soon stuck in the middle of busy intersections because car would not drive after I give it gas and it acted like it was in neutral. This happened every time I stopped until I made it safely home it was very scary because I could have caused an accident not being able to go when needed and was almost stranded in traffic. There were never any warning lights. After having it towed to the dealership I am now being told it could be transmission problems, but it doesn’t seem there is much knowledge on this particular vehicles mechanics or electrical system. Ford has not been honest or in contact with me about situation. Should not be happening at under 1000 miles and after more research seems is a common issue they knew about that they did not fix before selling to me. It has been at the dealership for 3 weeks with little communication or explanation.
