CP4 high pressure fuel pump failed causing Loss of Motive Power (LOMP) in Oct of 2018. Truck became hard to steer and brake but I was traveling at a lower speed. Had it of been 1 hour later I would have been at freeway speeds pulling a 13000lbs trailer. I had the truck towed to a local dealer where they diagnosed the truck as having a failed CP4 high pressure fuel pump made by Bosch. They informed me that the entire fuel system would have to be replaced do to the large amount of metal contaminants that this catastrophic failure produces and spreads though out the entire system. The total cost for the repairs were not covered under any type of warranty or recall and had to be paid entirely out of pocket. Not only was this a huge inconvenience as I was trying to leave town for a vacation it was very very expensive. I still can not understand why there has never been a recall on this issue. I think it can be related to a safety issue as a LOMP. I believe GM knew that the CP4 pump was and could be a faulty product but continued to use it.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she heard a loud abnormal tapping sound at the hood of the vehicle. The contact then stated that upon inspection, she noticed that the tapping sound was coming from the lifter and lifter arm when the piston dropped down. The traction control warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the pistons, rocker arm, head valve seals, and lifter arm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact then stated that upon research she was informed that the engine may need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 260,000.
TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM). FAILURE OF THIS PART LEAVES THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE AND UNABLE TO DRIVE. BEING STRANDED, OR IN TRAFFIC CAN CAUSE INJURY TO MYSELF OR ANY OTHER DRIVER THAT MAY ENCOUNTER ME DISABLED UNKNOWN, MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE. DEALER INVENTORY OF THE PART IS EXHAUSTED AND TRUCKS ARE SITTING INOPERABLE ALL OVER THE U.S.A. NO INDICATIONS OF A ISSUE WERE DISPLAYED PRIOR TO THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM DOES DISPLAY ON DASH, AFTER THE PROBLEM SHOWS UP
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 MPH and slowing for a traffic signal, the vehicle downshifted very hard. The contact stated that there was an audible clunking sound while the transmission was downshifting. The contact stated that at approximately 1 MPH, the rear wheels locked up and the vehicle came to a sudden stop. The contact stated that the failure had recurred and was unpredictable. The contact stated that the "Shift Inhibited" message was displayed. The contact stated that the rough shifting occurred at various speeds while upshifting or downshifting. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the Transmission Control Module (TCM) needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the TCM module was on a national back order. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 220,000.
The DEF system on this vehicle has failed three times since we bought it in 2021. The weather was not pleasant and in one case it was extremely dangerous. The DEF system froze up and fortunately I was able to limp it into a dealer who managed to get it working again but not after losing half a day and spending a couple hundred dollars. The second time a sensor failed and I was able to reset the system myself via removing all the electricity from the vehicle and doing what they call a shady tree reset. The third time the vehicle went into limp mode on us was when a sensor failed and the DEF pump failed at the same time. Chevy refused to help us cover the cost of repairs and refuses to replace the defective system. The vehicle might be over ten years old but it is like showroom new, it only had 20,000 miles on it in 2021 when we bought it and the previous owner took very good care of the truck. The vehicle now only has 32,000 miles on it. Our main argument is that Chevy aka GM knows about the defective systems and refuses to replace them. I have been in the transportation industry for a good part of my life and I know vehicles, especially diesel operated vehicles. The DEF systems are a complete joke and need to be removed especially for people who live in very cold climates.
Complete collapse of tire (BLOWOUT) on highway that caused damage too wheel well of vehicle and outside body panel damages of vehicle including driver side mirror due to tire explosion of rubber coming apart on tire. The tire is the original tire that came with the vehicle green dot is still on tire with tread that covers Lincoln face during a penny test, the tires are maintained at my local Discount tire dealer here, I need the damages repaired caused by Michelin product .

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL TO RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED THREE BROKEN RIBS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED BY THE POLICE TO A TOWING LOT. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ON BOTH SIDES NEAR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. SAFETY CONCERN SHOULD THE AIRBAG DEPLOY CAUSING SHARDS OF DEFECTIVE DASH TO ACT AS PROJECTILES INJURING THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH GM VEHICLES FROM 2007 TO 2013. VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN CRACK WAS FIRST OBSERVED.
TAKATA RECALL: THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2014-15 SILVERADO (RECAL # 14V301000). I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK ABOUT A YEAR, 2ND OWNER, BOUGHT IT AT 30K MILES.ON NOV. 25 I CAME OUT TO START MY START MY TRUCK AND I IMMEDIATELY COULDN'T POWER UP STEREO AND THEN I NOTICED I HAVE NO DOOR CHIME FOR OPEN DOOR, NO CHIME FOR KEY IN IGNITION AND NO CHIME FOR MY SEATBELT. MY TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR NO LONGER LETS ME KNOW WHEN IT IS ON. MY KEY FOB WILL NOT OPERATE KEYLESS START. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE COULD EASILY BE INCLUDED IN RECALL. I'M SURE THERE WERENT MANY BECAUSE MOST DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT GIVING ANY SIGNS THAT THEY HAVE DEALT WITH THIS ISSUE. I HAVE ALL GOOD FUSES IN BOTH BOXES TOO. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY DON'T HAVE THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS. CONSEQUENTLY, THEY LEAVE ME, MY FAMILY & PASSENGERS IN DANGER OF SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. HOW CAN I FORCE THEM TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS?
RECEIVED LETTER FROM GM JULY 2016 ABOUT RECALL. CALLED DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD ME THE VEHICLE. THEY SAID, GM HAS NOT COME UP WITH A REPAIR YET. THE DASHBOARD CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE NEAR THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. DEALERSHIP WOULD FIX THE ISSUE BUT ONLY AT FULL COST TO ME, EVEN THOUGH I EXPRESSED THE CONCERN I HAVE HOW IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY THE SHARP EDGES OF THE CRACKED AREA MAY NOT ALLOW THE AIR BAG TO WORK PROPERLY. I.E. COULD PUNCTURE THE AIRBAG. ALSO SHARDS OF THE DASHBOARD COULD CAUSE HARM IF AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY
IBC ( INTEGRATED BRAKE CONTROLLER ) FACTORY INSTALLED IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH TRAILER BRAKING SYSTEMS USING A EOH ( ELECTRIC OVER HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS) HOWEVER ACCORDING TO REPORTS ON VARIOUS WEB SITES AND GOING TO A GM DEALER THEIR RECOMMENDATION IS FOR OWNERS TO HAVE INSTALLED AT OUR ( OWNERS ) AFTERMARKET BRAKE CONTROLLERS WITH NO COMPENSATION , PEOPLE THAT HAVE BOUGHT THESE TRUCKS WERE NOT TOLD BY THE DEALERS WHO WERE/ ARE AWARE OF THE INCOMPATIBILITY ISSUE AND HAS CAUSED FINANCIAL BURDEN TO THE OWNERS , HOWEVER THE NEW 2016 HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM CORRECTED AND HAVE OFFERED NO SOLUTIONS TO PREVIOUS YEAR OWNERS OTHER THAN THE AFTERMARKET CONTROLLER EXPENSE . THIS ISSUE ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE A CATASTROPHIC COLLISION IF I HAD NOT HAD THE THOUGHT AND AWARENESS TO DRIVE OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH WHICH INCURRED UPON ME A $850 TOWING BILL TO GET BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN JULY OF 2015 USED FROM A DEALER IN TALLAHASSEE ,FLORIDA AND HAD NOT USED THE TRUCK FOR TOWING A TRAILED UNTIL THE DATE OF THE INCIDENT!

I HAVE A 2011 SILVERADO 1500 AND ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO MY DASH AROUND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG STARTED TO CRACK. I NOW HAVE 2 CRACKS AND THE AREA FEELS LOOSE WHICH WORRIES ME THAT IN CASE OF A ACCIDENT WITH AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT ON THE PASSANGER SIDE, THAT THIS COULD IMPAIR THE SAFETY AND DESIGN FOR ITS PURPOSE.
THE TRUCK HAD LESS THAN 50,000 MILES WHEN WE NOTICED A CRACK IN THE DASH RUNNING FROM THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE AIR BAG COVER AND THE DEFROSTER VENT. I KNOW SEVERAL OTHER TRUCKS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. IT APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW. I WENT TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND HE ESTIMATED IT WOULD TAKE NEARLY $1,000 TO FIX. I WONDER IF THIS CRACK WOULD BE NEGATIVELY INFLUENCED IF THE AIR BAG EVER INFLATES CAUSING MORE DAMAGE OR INJURY.
I HAVE A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 THAT HAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000 MILES ON IT AND IS GARAGE KEPT. I HAVE SEVERAL CRACKS AROUND MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WHICH COULD POSE A SAFETY ISSUE EVEN THOUGH GM SAID THE CRACKS WILL NOT.
WE HAVE HAD A RECURRING ISSUE WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL FEATURE ON THIS VEHICLE SINCE BUYING IT. RANDOMLY AND OUT OF NOWHERE IT WILL SHOW STABILITRAK OFF ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE ENGINE BECOMES SLUGGISH WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS, TO ME, IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE IGNITION GETTING STUCK WHEN STARTING WHERE IT GRINDS THE STARTER. I HAVE TO TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND START IT AGAIN TO GET IT TO STOP. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE STABILITRAK ISSUE. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL.

TAKATA RECALL THE DASH IN MY 2011 CHEVROLET PICKUP SUDDENLY CRACKED. IT IS CRACKED IN THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG I ASK MY CHEVROLET DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. I HAVE HEARD OF SEVERAL GM OWNERS THAT HAVE THW SAME PROBLEM . THE VENICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION. THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO EXTENDED PEROIDS OF SUNSHINE OR HOT WEATHER. THE VHICLE IS NORMALLY KEPT IN MY GARAGE WHEN NOT IN USE. PHOTOS COULD BE PRIVIDED BUT I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT.

MY DASH IS CRACKING AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE CRACKED AREAS COULD COME LOOSE AND BECOME A PROJECTILE. THE ENGINE IS ALSO BURNING OIL BADLY AND COULD SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING
DASH CRACKED RIGHT ABOVE AIRBAG ONLY 40 THOUSAND MILES ON TRUCK. IT'S KNOWN TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES AND COULD CAUSE A SAFETY CONCERN BEING BY AIRBAG

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO, DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRIM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
THE DEFROST ON MY TRUCK DOES NOT FUNTION PROPERLY. IT MAY TAKE UP TO 15 TO 20 MINUTES FOR MY FRONT WINDSHIELD AND DRIVER AND PASSENGER WINDOW TO CLEAR. THE WINDOWS ARE CLEAR WHEN I PULL OUT OF THE GARAGE. AS I AM TRAVELING TO MY DESTINATION THE WINDSHIELD AND DRIVER AND PSSENGER WINDOWS FOG UP. I USUALLY PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD UNTIL IT CLEARS. I LET MY TRUCK WARM UP BEFORE LEAVING THE DRIVEWAY SO THE AIR COMING OUT IS WARM. MOST OF THE TIME I MAY HAVE AN 8 INCH CIRCLE TO SEE OUT OF. IF I WIPE IT OFF IT COMES BACK AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2014. I DIDN'T LIKE BUT I WAS LIVING WITH IT. BUT THIS IS CERTAINLY A HAZARD TO ME AND OTHER DRIVERS.

I WAS DRIVING ON NJTP MY DAUGHTER WAS FOLLOWING BEHIND ME AND CALLS ME (HANDSFREE) SAYING MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON . SO I TAP MY BRAKES A FEW TIMES THEN PULL UP ON OEDAL AND LIGHTS GO OFF THEN MY CC STARTED WORKIMG AGAIN .AT SAME TIME MY STABILTRAC IDIOT LIGHT COMES ON TO GET IT SERVICED SO MAKE APPT AND THEY FIND NO PROBLEM WITH STABILTRAC AND TELL ME IM DRINEING WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE.HOWEVER I DID SOME CHECKING AND IF I STEP ON MY BRAKES LET OFF AT TIMES MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON. ON OCT 4TH, 2014 I WAS TRAVELING FROM SAN ANGELO, TX TO SAN ANTONIO, TX, IN MY 2011 3500 CHEVROLET DIESEL PICKUP, PULLING OUR 5TH WHEEL CAMPER. WHEN I NEARED JUNCTION, TX I COULD SMELL AN ODOR OF FUEL. ON I-10 EB MILE 456, I NOTICED THAT MY FUEL GAUGE WAS RAPIDLY DROPPING. WHEN I LEFT JUNCTION, THE GAUGE READ HALF FULL. AT MILE MARKER 497, I PULLED INTO A REST STOP, BECAUSE THE FUEL GAUGE HAD DROPPED TO THE EMPTY MARK. I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK AND COULD SEE THE DIESEL POURING OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE MOTOR. THE SAME EVENT HAPPENED AGAIN ABOUT 3 MONTHS LATER WHILE I WAS ON AN INTERSTATE DRIVING ABOUT 70 MPH. THE I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP IN THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I THEN PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND THE VEHICLE STARTED NORMALLY. I BELIEVE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH. *TR

THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES WHERE THE FUEL TANK, TRANSFER PUMP AND ENGINE CONTROL MODULE HAD BEEN REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. DRIVING ABOUT 60 MPH ABOUT 10 MILES INTO THE TRIP WHEN THE TRUCK LOST SPEED, THE ABS BRAKES DID A SLIGHT ON AND OFF PULSATING EVERY COUPLE OF SECONDS, THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING ROUGH AND GIVING IT GAS THE ENGINE REVVED UP BUT WOULDN'T GO ANYWHERE. SPEED DROPPED DOWN TO 35 OR 40 MPH AND WOULDN'T GO ANY FASTER. THE DASH INDICATOR SHOWED MESSAGES STATING STABILITRAK TRACTION CONTROL TURNED OFF AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. IT JOLTED REAL HARD WHEN IT SHIFTS GEARS. WHEN I MASHED THE BRAKE IT DIDN'T WANT TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKES TO HOLD THE TRUCK THERE. I PULLED INTO A STORE POPPED THE HOOD AND FINDING NOTHING I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS AND RESTARTED IT BUT NOTHING CHANGED AND THE ERROR MESSAGES WERE STILL BEING DISPLAYED. THE TRUCKS ENGINE WAS RUNNING ROUGH. I HEADED HOME AND IT DIDN'T HAVE ANY POWER AND JOLTED HARD AS IT SHIFTED GEARS. I COUDLN'T GO BUT 35 OR 40 MPH ON THE LEVEL GROUND. IF I WENT UP A SLIGHT HILL THE TRUCK SLOWED DOWN MORE UNTIL I GOT PAST THE HILL. I GAVE IT GAS AND THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP BUT HAD NO POWER AND WOULDN'T GO 35 OR 40 MPH. I PARKED THE TRUCK IN THE GARAGE AND IN 10 MINUTES I WENT TO START IT TO GET THE ERROR MESSAGES AND IT STARTED UP FINE AND THE ENGINE WASN'T RUNNING ROUGH. I DROVE IT 1/2 MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND BACK AND IT RAN PERFECT. I GOOGLED THE ERROR MESSAGES AND FOUND ALOT OF COMPLAINTS AND COMMENTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON THE CHEVROLET FORUM WEBSITE. NO RECALL INFORMATION JUST ALOT OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AND ALOT WORSE CASES THAT ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS. IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE? I READ THAT I WILL PROBABLY HAVE THE ISSUE AGAIN BECAUSE AFTER IT SITS FOR 10 MIN IT PROBABLY WON'T HAVE A PROBLEM UNTIL A FEW MINUTES OR DAYS LATER. I WAS TRAVELING ON A DIVIDED HIGHWAY AND APPROACHING A SLOW MOVING TRUCK IN THE RIGHT LANE AHEAD OF ME. THERE WAS ANOTHER TRUCK BEHIND ME IN MY LANE. I MOVED TO THE LEFT LANE TO PASS THE SLOW TRUCK. JUST AFTER I BEGAN THE PASS MY PICKUP SLOWED QUICKLY AND BEGAN FLASHING ERROR MESSAGES: STABILITY CONTROL DISABLED, ENGINE POWER REDUCED & SERVICE STABILITRAK. THE TRUCK BEHIND ME HAD MOVED UP CLOSE AND FOLLOWED ME AROUND THE SLOW MOVING TRUCK. I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AND CONTINUED SLOWING QUICKLY. I HAD JUST ENOUGH ROOM TO SWERVE IN BEHIND THE SLOW TRUCK AS MY SPEED FELL BELOW ITS SPEED. THE TRUCK BEHIND ME NARROWLY AVOIDED A REAR IMPACT WITH MY TRUCK, WHICH, I BELIEVE, WOULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. I PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND TRIED TO SPEED UP. ABOUT 40 MPH WAS ALL MY TRUCK WOULD DO. I STOPPED AND GOT OUT THE MANUAL. IT SAID TO RESET THE STABILITRAK, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF FOR 30 SECONDS. I DID THAT AND THE TRUCK SEEMED TO FUNCTIONED NORMALLY, AT LEAST AS FAR AS ENGINE POWER. I STILL HAD TRACTION CONTROL & STABILITRAK ERROR MESSAGES AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I WAS ABLE TO RETURN 40 MILES TO MY HOME TOWN WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENTS. I WAS ABLE TO GET MY TRUCK INTO THE CHEVY DEALER ON THE 30TH. THE SERVICE REP RECOGNIZED MY DESCRIPTION IMMEDIATELY AS A "THROTTLE SENSOR" FAILURE. IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THERE HAVE BEEN NO FURTHER INCIDENTS. MY CONCERNS ARE DUAL: FIRST, ONLY LUCK AND YEARS OF EMERGENCY VEHICLE OPERATION TRAINING ENABLED ME TO AVOID BEING HIT FROM BEHIND BY THE FOLLOWING TRUCK WHEN MY TRUCK UNEXPECTEDLY AND WITHOUT WARNING LOST POWER. I HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED AT A GM DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS STATED BY THE TECH THAT VEHICLE IS WORKING AS DESIGNED. THIS WAS ALSO CONFIRMED BY GM ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT. IF I RECALL, THE FUEL PUMP IS PLACED MORE TOWARD THE BACK OF TRUCK AND WHILE DRIVING DOWNHILL GAS MOVES TOWARDS FRONT OF TANK GIVING THE FUEL SENSOR A FALSE READING. I'M NO ENGINEER BUT I HAD A 2009 SILVERADO AND NEVER CAME ACROSS THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A BIG VEHICLE AND I BELIEVE THIS POSES A GREAT SAFETY RISK TO MYSELF AND FAMILY AS WELL AS THE PUBLIC. MANY TIMES WHEN THE TRUCK HAS LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND BRAKING CAPABILITY, MYSELF OR MY FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ARE DRIVING HAVE NARROWLY AVOIDED ACCIDENTS. GM TECH AND GM CORPORATE SAID REMEDY IS TO KEEP MORE GAS IN VEHICLE. THIS IS A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM AS AT TIMES IN TRAVEL I MAY NOT KEEP MY TANK AS FULL AS REQUIRED BY GM.
#1. VEHICLE ACCELERATES WHEN LETTING OFF GAS, EVEN WHILE GOING UPHILL THE VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE. YOU CAN GO UP A STEEP HILL WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GAS. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY REPLACED, THE THROTTLE BODY, GAS PEDAL ASSEMBLY. THEY REINSTALLED THE ORIGINAL PARTS AND TOLD US THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. WE DROVE OTHER 2011 CHEVY SILVERADO'S WHICH DID NOT DO THE SAME THING. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD US THAT ALL THE 2011 CHEVY SILVERADO'S ACCELERATE ON THEIR OWN. #2. THERE IS A CLUNKING NOISE FROM THE REAR WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS IS NORMAL BACKLASH, AND DID NOT DO ANYTHING. *KB
BRAKE FAILURE. APPLIED BRAKES RAPIDLY DUE TO VEHICLE STOPPING IN FRONT OF ME. NOTICED TIRE SQUEAL THEN BRAKE PEDAL REMAINED FIRM BUT, MY VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. HAD TO STEER INTO OPPOSITE TRAVEL LANE TO AVOID ACCIDENT. BRAKES THEN BEGAN TO FUNCTION NORMALLY. DROVE TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE CHECKED. SERVICE MANAGER SAID BRAKES CHECKED OK. IN ROUTE TO MY HOME SERVICE BRAKE SOON LIGHT APPEARED ON DASH DISPLAY. *TR
WHY IS THE CABLES SUPPORTING THE TAIL GATE TWO DIFFERENT LENGTHS, ONE CABLE IS LOOSE WHEN THE TAIL GATE IS LOWERED AND NOT SUPPORTING ANYTHING, I TALKED WITH MY SALES PERSON AND HE TOLD HE TALKED WITH GM AND THEY ARE NOT GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM, CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INFORMATION ON THIS, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500HD(NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COMPUTER WAS PROGRAMMED TO LIMIT THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID WAS TOO LOW. HE NOTICED THAT WHEN HE FILLED THE FUEL TANK, THE COMPUTER DID NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THE TANK WAS FULL AND THE DIESEL WARNING LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER BUT WAS CONTACTED; THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THE ONLY REMEDY WAS FOR THEM TO DROP THE DIESEL TANK AND EMPTY THE FLUID FOR THE COMPUTER TO REPROGRAM ITSELF. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,500.
