When this device is used to replace the Flasher Module (my had failed so I ordered this replacement from Amazon) I found that the brake light circuit to any trailer connected tot he vehicle would no longer work. Under further research on Amazon via reviews and other online sources, I found that all of the Chinese clone parts have this same failure mode. Since most people check trailer lights with Directionals or 4 Way flashers, they would not be aware of the failure of the brake (stop) lamps not working on the trailer leading to critical dangerous situation if they need to slow as the driver behind them is likely to rear end the trailer due to the failure of the stop lamps to light.

I don’t know all I stopped driving it because it is not shifting right and I can’t ark it for some reason . I have to leave it in reverse and then turn off and put rocks so it does not move. Not safe, one day I drive 30 minutes later it is this way.

At speeds of 50 mph and above, my vehicle does the death wobble. Any time I hit a tiny crack in the road, going higher speeds. The person that sold he this car knew it did not pass emissions in September 2024 and I bought it in November 2024. A dealership checked car fax for me after I bought it. And this person rolled back the odometer also. I found this out after I purchased it.

Searching of Google results indicates this is a known problem with these vehicles. I am unable to put fuel/gas in the tank because the vapor safety system fails! Having to replace the entire vapor purge and canister assembly is very costly when this known safety hazard should have been taken care of by the manufacturer.

When driving it feels like I'm slowing down when I'm not. The lights inside, the headlights, & on dashboard flicker & sometimes go out while driving. My seatbelts on the driver, back seat behind driver not working. The driver seat does not adjust so I can position myself correctly. The truck rocks side to side while driving as if it will tip over on its side if I drive over 30. I just recently acquired the truck within the last few months and I need to be on the road driving my babies around. I love the truck andu problems with it sounds and drive like it's all a safety issue. Please let me know if these issues are covered to be fixed.

The manufacturer was informed of the failure and was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE WITH 45,104 MILES. 2ND OWNER. HAD TO PANIC STOP ON LOCAL HIGHWAY EXIT RAMP WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS COMING WRONG WAY ON THE RAMP. HAD A TO AVOID OTHER VEHICLE TO RIGHT OF RAMP AND AGGRESSIVELY APPLY BRAKES TO AVOID ACCIDENT AT APPROXIMATELY 15-25 MPH. ANTI-LOCK BRAKES PULSATED AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE FOLLOWED BY BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSING TO FLOOR. CONTINUED TO PROCEED AND BRAKES AGAIN GOING TO FLOOR. DETERMINED THAT BRAKE LINES FAILED AND FRONT DRIVERS SIDE OF VEHICLE, COMPLETELY EMPTYING BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER CAUSING LOSS OF FRONT AND REAR BRAKE SYSTEMS. WAS ABLE TO PROCEED ON EMERGENCY BRAKE SINCE HOME WAS WITHIN A MILE AND HALF. AT HOME, FILLED THE MASTER CYLINDER IN DRIVEWAY AND DID STATIONARY TEST OF SYSTEM. ENGINE STARTED, BRAKES AGAIN GO TO FLOOR AND MASSIVE BRAKE LEAK OCCURRED ON DRIVER'S SIDE BY LEADING EDGE OF FRONT DOOR AT TRUCK FRAME SPILLING FLUID ON GROUND AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER/EXHAUST SYSTEM. HAVE READ IN NEW YORK TIMES THIS IS AN ISSUE ON GM LIGHT TRUCKS AND GM REFUSES TO RECALL. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.

ON 8/13/2014 WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT ON US ROUTE 22 IN MONROEVILLE, PA.; AT ABOUT 30 MPH, MY PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED TO LOW GEAR AND APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I WAS VERY LUCKY TO NOT HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, ABOUT 2 FEET TO SPARE. PULLED OFF ROAD, OPENED HOOD, MASTER CYLINDER LOW, PUDDLE UNDER DRIVER'S SEAT. AS I WAS ONLY 1/4 MILE FROM MY FAVORITE MECHANIC AND WAS ON A LEVEL ROAD, I PUT THE 4 WAY FLASHERS ON, LOW GEAR, AND PROCEEDED AT 5 MPH TO THE SERVICE CENTER. ONLY BRAKES I HAD WAS EMERGENCY, NOTHING AT ALL FROM PEDAL ?????? WHAT USE IS A DUAL MASTER WHEN THE LINE TO THE ABS BURSTS. THIS VEHICLE HAS 45K MILES ON THE ODOMETER, IT MAY BE 10 YEARS OLD; BUT THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN ON A VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION, LOOKS NEW, DRIVES NEW. REPAIR TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD WAS $274.01 BUT; MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT ALL MY LINES WERE BAD AND SHOULD BE REPLACED. I JUST HAD ALL THE BRAKE LINES / FLEX HOSES / AND GEE EVEN THE GAS LINE WERE RUSTING THRU REPLACED AT A COST OF $1323.32. SO I'VE SPENT $1500.00 ON BRAKE / FUEL LINE REPLACEMENT. I AS WELL AS MANY OF MY FRIENDS WERE SHOCKED AT THIS FAILURE, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE DRIVE 50 60 YEAR OLD TRIUMPH SPORTS CARS WITH ORIGINAL BRAKE LINES. NEVER HAVE I EXPERIENCED THIS TYPE OF FAILURE. I DISCOVERED BROKEN/MISSING EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS AT 107K MILES ALTHOUGH I SUSPECT THEY HAVE BEEN MISSING FOR QUITE SOME TIME. I WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BY OTHER CADILLAC, CHEVY, AND GMC OWNERS WITH THE 6.0L ENGINE. UPON HEARING ABOUT THIS ISSUE I INSPECTED MY VEHICLE TO FIND THAT I HAVE MISSING/BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS TOO. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS WELL AS EMISSIONS. MANY OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES WITH THIS ENGINE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE MISSING OR BROKEN MANIFOLD BOLTS, MANY AT MILEAGES OF LESS THAN 50K. EXHAUST TEMPERATURES AT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AVERAGE 1200 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. GASOLINE HAS AN IGNITION TEMPERATURE OF ABOUT 500 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. WHEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BREAK OR BECOME MISSING THE SEAL IS COMPROMISED BETWEEN THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND THE EXHAUST PORT ON THE ENGINE CYLINDER HEAD ALLOWING THESE EXTREMELY HOT EXHAUST GASES TO COME INTO CONTACT WITH MULTIPLE COMPONENTS IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT RATHER THAN THROUGH THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND SAFELY OUT THE TAILPIPE, WHICH IS ROUTED SAFELY AWAY FROM FLAMMABLE COMPONENTS OR COMPONENTS THAT COULD COMPROMISE VEHICLE HANDLING OR BRAKING IF EXPOSED TO THESE TEMPERATURES FROM NORMAL OPERATION. HEAT SHIELDS AS PART OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM ARE INSTALLED TO SAFELY SHIELD ANY OF THESE COMPONENTS FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM TEMPERATURES AS LONG AS THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION. IN ADDITION THERE ARE OTHER FLUIDS SUCH AS TRANSMISSION FLUID, POWER STEERING FLUID, ENGINE OIL, THAT WILL ALSO BURN IF EXPOSED TO THESE NORMAL EXHAUST MANIFOLD TEMPERATURES. ALL OF THESE FLUIDS, INCLUDING FUEL LINES, FLOW THROUGH LINES IN AND AROUND THESE MANIFOLDS ROUTED THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. SHOULD THE ENTIRE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BECOME LOOSE BECAUSE OF THE INSUFFICIENT MOUNTING HARDWARE THE RISK OF FIRE BECOME EXPONENTIALLY HIGHER. TOWING A TRAILER, I HAD TO BRAKE HARD TO AVOID REAR ENDING. THE BRAKES INITIALLY WORKED NORMALLY, AND I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP SAFELY. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE REPAIR FOR THE FAILURE IS COVERED PER THE WARRANTY. THERE HAVE BEEN NO REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 107000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH THE STEERING IN THE VEHICLE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK. SHE NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING WOULD LOCK UP, CAUSING HER TO WRESTLE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL TO PARK AND MOVE THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE GREAT EFFORT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED IN REFERENCE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V045000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). SHE WAS REFERRED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO REPAIR A FAILURE WITHIN THE STEERING GEAR BOX BEFORE THE RECALL REPAIR COULD BE PERFORMED. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $1,100. THE CONTACT ASKED IF SHE COULD GET A SECOND OPINION AT A REPAIR SHOP, BUT THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED. THE LIGHTS WERE BLINKING ON AND OFF AND BECAME VERY DIM AND YELLOWISH. THE BRIGHT LIGHTS WERE VERY DIM ALSO. THE INSTRUMENTS ON STEERING WHEEL WERE GETTING VERY WARM, AND THEY WERE NOT SUPPOSE TO, SPECIFICALLY STATED THE CONSUMER. THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM WAS HAVING PROBLEMS READING INFORMATION. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SECOND OCCURANCE: 7/05 SAME THING HAPPENS BUT TO FRONT DRIVER SIDE RIM. THE VEHICLE HASN'T EVEN BEEN DRIVEN ENOUGH TO GET A FLAT TIRE LET ALONE A RIM WITH TWO HAIR LINE CRACKS IN IT. EMERGENCY MESSAGE VIA SATELLITE, VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN A SERIOUS MVA AND AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. WE DIDN'T CALL ONSTAR THEY CALLED US. NEXT DAY WE CALLED ASKED HOW THEY KNEW WE WERE ACCIDENT. TOLD US DEPENDING ON THE SEVERITY, THEY GET CERTAIN SIGNALS, WHICH OURS HAD ADVISED OF SERIOUSNESS & AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. UNBELIEVABLY, NONE OF OUR 4 AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. WE & HUNDREDS OF OUR FRIENDS ARE IN TOTAL DISBELIEF WHEN YOU SEE THE CONDITION VEIHICLE WAS LEFT IN & THAT 4 AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. WE WERE INJURED BUT BY GRACE OF GOD INJURIES WERE NOT LIFE THREATENING. HEAD,UPPERANDLOWERBACK,NECK,LEGS,SHOULDER,HIPSAND ARMS EXTREMLEY SORE. DT: PROBLEM WAS NOTICED IN 5/05 WHEN KEY WAS TURNED ON, NO LIGHT CAME ON REGARDING THE STABILITY CONTROL FUNCTION. WAS PUT ON DIAGNOSTICS, BUT NO ERROR CODE SHOWED. OWNER MANUAL STATED THE LIGHT WILL COME ON BRIEFLY WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THEN DISAPPEAR. IF THE LIGHT DOES NOT GO ON, THEN STABILITY CONTROL FUNCTION MAY NEED SERVICE. THE ENTIRE ELECTRIC SYSTEM FAILED IN APRIL, WHEN RADIO, AND OTHER ELECTRIC FUNCTIONS FAILED. ALSO, THE LOW PSI LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE TIRE WENT FLAT. THIS HAPPENED AFTER THE REPAIR OF ELECTRIC SYSTEM. TRANSMISSION FAILED, AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. 1ST INCIDENT 1) I WAS GOING TO PARK IN A SPOT BETWEEN TWO BUILDING, ONLY LARGE ENOUGH FOR ONE VEHICLE. I CAME DOWN THE ROAD, WHICH HAS A DECLINE TO IT, AND TURNED RIGHT, INTO THE PARKING SPOT. DUE TO THE ROAD BEING 1 WAY, AND THE PARKING SPOT BEING TIGHT, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE DIRECTLY INTO THE PARKING SPOT. I TURNED THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO BACK UP TO GO STRAIGHT INTO THE PARKING SPOT. I PRESSED THE BRAKE, SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL. MEANWHILE, A LADY WALKED IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE ON THE SIDEWALK. 2) THE VEHICLE ROLLED FORWARD, EVEN THOUGH THE RPMS WERE AT APPROXIMATELY 2200 RPMS AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE. I HIT THE BRAKE, BUT THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY HIT THE LADY. SHE WAS FORTUNATELY FINE, AND CONTINUED ON HER WAY. 3) I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY TOLD ME IT WAS WORKING WITHIN IN DESIGN PARAMETERS. THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THAT COULD BE DONE. I CALLED CADILLAC CUSTOMER CARE, AND INFORMED THEM OF THE PROBLEM. THEY ALSO SAID AT THE TIME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, AND CHALKED IT UP TO A FLUKE. 2ND INCIDENT 1) I PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AGAIN WITH A DECLINE. ABOUT 2 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS A CEMENT POST. I CAME OUT, STARTED THE TRUCK, PRESSED THE BRAKE, AND SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. 2). I PRESSED THE GAS, THE RPMS WERE OVER 2000 RPMS, AND THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN DID NOT REVERSE BUT RATHER ROLLED FORWARD INTO THE CEMENT POST, CRACKING MY FRONT BUMPER. AFTER THAT, THE REVERSE ENGAGED AND THE TRUCK STARTED REVERSING. 3). THE DEALERSHIP CURRENTLY HAS THE VEHICLE, AND IS TELLING ME TO COME PICK IT UP, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I ASKED WHAT IT WAS GOING TO TAKE BEFORE THEY DID SOMETHING, AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I HAVE CALLED CADILLAC CUSTOMER CARE AGAIN, LEFT 3 MESSAGES, AND STILL AHVE NOT HEARD BACK. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE LIABILITY OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AT THIS POINT.

THE LEFT REAR WHEEL BEARING FAILED ON A NEW 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WENT ON AND THE A SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL MESSAGE ON THE DASH. THERE WAS NO NOISE OR WARNING PRIOR. AFTER THE BEARING SEIZED, THE AXEL SNAPPED AND THE ONLY THING HOLDING THE WHEEL ON WAS THE BRAKE CALIPER. THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE ENTIRE REAR AXEL, DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY. I HAVE HEARD OF WHEEL FAILURES ON CHEVROLET AVALANCHE TRUCK'S ALSO (SAME CHASSIS). MY CONCERN IS THAT THERE IS A COMPONENT PROBLEM WITH THE WHEEL BEARING ON THESE TRUCKS WHICH COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. *JB

THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON, THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE DEALER. THE IGNITION WAS TURNED ON/OFF TO SEE IF IT WOULD GO OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT AT THE DEALERS THE NEXT MORNING. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON AGAIN THE NEXT WEEK. THERE WAS A PART ORDERED, AND REPLACED. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR TWO DAYS AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THE NEW MODEL YEAR 03 AND 04 CADILLAC ESCALADE SUVS HAVE TOO HIGHLY MOUNTED AND POORLY DESIGNED AND OR MIS ADJUSTED HEADLIGHTS CAUSING BLINDING GLARE TO ON COMING DRIVERS OR DRIVERS IN FRONT OF THESE VEHICLES. THE EXCESSIVELY GLARING LIGHT CAUSED EYE PAIN TO OTHER DRIVERS AND TEMPORARY BLINDNESS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
