2019 Buick Encore Problems & Complaints

3 leaks in oil cooler. When mech got in to do the repairs, they noticed the turbo was cracked. Replaced it with new turbo which also failed. After the second new turbo was installed the car ran fine for about a day and now the turbo continuously stalls while driving it.

Car sputtered and slowed on expressway, turbo failed. Recalls issued 2016 and 2017, then reissued 2020 to 2023, same turbo, 2019 was exempted

SUV has ran hot and had it towed on 3 separate occasions when this happened. Had thermostat and water pump replaced. Not fixed. Coolant keeps running out if bottom of suv. It is at dealership and blown head gasket and probably much worse. Apparently these models have something wrong with cooling system. The engine cost will be about what I owe on it. Buick needs to pay for another engine for my SUV. I have a warranty but they won’t honor the engine replacement and I’m out of a vehicle.

Driving down the road and car became sluggish to respond/accelerate and could barely operate at slow speeds or not be able to go. Thankfully at this time I was close to home and not on the highway but was leaving on a long trip with areas of no service and isolation and temps in the -20F could be a very dangerous situation. There were no warning lights on at all. But I own a code reader and hooked it up anyways and got code P0299. Took it to a small local repair shop and will include their report as a file because I don't understand all of it but this is a known issue/defect from the manufacturer with a technical bulletin out about it with a fix for it. Was never notified of this at purchase or since. Then took to the manufacturer dealership to try and get them to fix it but they won't and want more money than the small shop. Feel misled when headquarters said yea we should cover that move it to a dealership.

turbo charger and catalytic convertor both failed at 50k miles. the 2017 and 2018 buick encores have a safety recall for turbochargers but the 2019 was not included in that recall despite it having the exact same engine and turbocharger.

Turbocharger gasket failed resulting in leaking coolant and overheating of engine. Damages resulted turbocharge replacement and replacement of water outlet in $4463.43 repair bill.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and retrieved DTC: P171D (For transmission pressure issue and oil leak). The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was provided with the same DTC and informed that the transmission had failed and was leaking fluid. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. Upon further investigation, the contact learned that the failure might be related to missing bolts on the transmission accumulator. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

When I'm driving sometimes the car seems like it's about to cut off or something & the check engine light plus stabilizer track message bones on & I start losing power & it's happened more than 10 times ! I let the car sit for a few minutes & it works !

The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at 35 MPH, another vehicle failed to yield at a left turn, driving northbound, and crashed into the contact's vehicle on the front driver's side. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact's daughter and granddaughter were both injured and were later treated at the local hospital for soreness in various parts of their body. Both occupants sustained emotional trauma as a result of the accident. The other driver was also injured as a result of the accident and was transported to the hospital by ambulance; their injuries are unknown. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the scene to an independent tow yard, where it was deemed a total loss. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

85,000 miles bought new. Was having hesitation and power issues, experienced increased fatigue the longer I drove. Took it in for service at 85,000 miles and the turbo PVC valve was bad as well as the catalytic converter. I’ve never had a catalytic converter go bad on any vehicle in my 42 years of driving. Cost = $2,000 for just the catalytic converter and extended warranty covered. Advised at time of being repaired that blind spot monitoring on right side of passenger mirror was malfunctioning. The dealer insisted I make a separate appointment which is another $100 co-pay so they can fix it. I was told the insurance company may delay or deny the claim. I know that can’t be true but my boyfriend has cancer and need the vehicle back asap for his treatment transportation. Sounds like problem with Encore.

My check engine light has been appearing off and on for a few months. I received a diagnostic code of P0325 TWICE by two different professional technicians. I ordered an OEM knock sensor, hired a technician to replace the knock sensor, drove about 10 miles and the check engine light came back on. Then, I received a diagnostic code of P-1101, and the recommended solution is to replace the intake manifold and all necessary gadgets. After speaking with professional technicians and doing thorough online research, I discovered that General Motors issued a service bulletin No. 19-NA-101, dated July 2024, covers certain 2013–2019 model vehicles (including Buick Encore with 1.4L turbo) for oil consumption and/or leaks caused by a missing non-return valve in the intake manifold. The bulletin acknowledges that the intake manifold design on these 1.4L turbo engines has a non-return (check) valve or PCV system component inside the manifold that can fail or go missing, leading to issues like boost/vacuum leaks, oil consumption, engine performance faults. •The PCV valve is non-serviceable (you can’t replace it separately), meaning the only fix is replacing the manifold — which GM calls out in the bulletin. If GM or Buick hasn't issued a recall they should offer goodwill assistance especially since this is a defect on their end.

My suv dies while im driving it. The engine stalls the lights go off. Its very dangerous I had a semi truck behind me last night and my encore basically became invisible. No lights no power, nothing. He almost hit me. Ive had this encore to several mechanics and none of them knows what the problem is. There are no warning lights on and it does not show any codes when hooked up to a diagnostic machine. I have called Buick Corp.and she told me to take it to a mechanic.

I have been calling Autonations for months now since my car started driving funny. I was first told it was a head gasket that needed replacement however using my vin number the engine that’s currently inside the vehicle is not the one that matches with what pulls up using the vin number. Than the antifreeze leaks out, the oil leaks out and one day the car started smoking on the freeway with my children and I inside. It just stopped and haven’t been working ever since. I literally just got messed out of money because I purchased this vehicle a year ago not knowing it was a recall and this is one of the recalls now I am completely screwed over without a car and my money!! Now I’m being told I have to pay because this car was sold to me already over the mileage limit to be fixed for free!!

The airbags never deployed. I sustained a brain injury in the accident along with whiplash. I told the deputy on scene, that they did not deploy. My insurance looked at it. They totaled the car out. It is now sitting in a junk yard somewhere.

•On January 25th 2025 I paid approximately $3,383 for a turbocharger repair on my 2019 Buick Encore. This included a turbocharger oil return tube, turbocharger oil supply and re, intercooler, int. man. & vAL. COV. Kit, R&R inter cooler, R&R turbocharger, R&R intake manifold, and turbocharger assembly. Since that time, the same problem has recurred and I have returned the vehicle to the same location on four separate occasions without resolution. It is currently available for inspection. •August 11th, 2025: Vehicle stalled in the middle of an intersection as I attempted to accelerate from a stop sign, placing me in immediate danger of collision. •I have had the check engine code read by another independent service center. •No one else has inspected the vehicle •The check engine light has come off and on since January when the problem began after visiting Mavis Discount Tire in sinking spring for a routine oil change. There were no symptoms prior to this first failure that signaled the issue that resulted in the repair. Prior to the incident on August 11th there had been repeated symptoms of an issue even when the check engine light was off. These issues included overheating, smoking, lack of acceleration, and stalling.

turbocharger failures, which can result in reduced acceleration, power loss causing problems while trying to merge onto traffic and also in hill climbing. My understanding this is a common problem with the Buick Encore and has not been recalled. My garage said they have repaired a "ton" of these turbo in Buick Encores. Why no recall???

My daughter owns a 2019 Buick Encore and the check engine light keeps going on. She took her car to the dealer and was told that it needed a Turbo Bypass Valve and Solenoid valve. The car is just a few months within the 10 year powertrain warranty and the dealer refused to cover as defect. She drives on the freeway 45 minutes to/from work and this is a serious issue that causes the engine to rev hard and not stop as well as stall intermittently.

They sold me a car and 2 days later the check engine light came on I fixed it then a second time it came on I fixed again then a third time it came on I fixed it again now this is the 4th time that this light has come on and I called up there they tell me well we can see about putting you in another car. I go up there today and they tell me well the loan place you chose won’t do it because what’s on my credit so I ask if they can fix it for free because I can’t afford to pay 500$ 9’ car note and 500$ for car Insurance they said it’s nothing they could do to help me I asked for a manger Chelsea , she walked passed me 3 times and one of the times was to go smoke a cigarette didn’t even try to aknowlege me until I called my salesmen Veronica too say she walked passed me 3 times and didn’t say anything I don’t appreciate im working hard to try and pay for this car and. I felt as if no one cares I feel as if I was sold a lemon and they continue to say well we didn’t sale you a lemon how would you know if it’s a lemon or not prior to buying know one knows that

My engine light came on. The repair shop said I have to replace the fuel pump control module and that it is a known issue with Buick. I was advised not to drive the car. I am concerned that I could have been out and the car could have broken down. The car doesn’t even have 50,000 miles on it. This should not happen.

Transmission whirring, vehicle is skipping while driving, gear/rpm not downshifting after acceleration

I've only had the car for under a month and twice this has happened. When I came to a stop, the start/stop system was activated (engine shuts off) and I put the car in P (parked). Then when I placed it into reverse and released the brake which started the engine, there was a huge jolt/jerk/buck. This happened twice and as far as I know this these are the only times I've committed this specific sequence of events.

The full type of this tire is Continental ContiProContact P215/55 R18 94H Also DOT is IP5 OF8PAO 5323. Note there are two letter "O". Either one or both of those could be the number 0. I cannot tell the difference on my tire. When I was driving in a parking lot I heard a loud noise and did not know what it was. I did not think to look at my instrumental panel so I drove around a half mile home. Then I noticed the TPMs warning and saw that the tire was completely flat. I saw sidewall damage that look like something cut into my side wall or perhaps that was the blowout. It was cut about a half inch or inch long in the outside sidewall of the tire. The tire only had about 821 miles on it. I check the pressure consistently and it always was the proper pressure as specified by the vehicle door jamb. Also my vehicle shows me the exact tire pressure when on the instrument panel. I checked it the morning before the blowout happened and the tire pressures were fine. Also I look at my tire pressure almost every time I drive (about every day) using the tire pressure indication on my instrument panel. I never hit any potholes or any curbs. The tire looked normal and felt fine when I was driving on it (until the blowout of course). Also according to the DOT it was manufactured late 2023 so it does not sound like dry rot. This seems like it could either be a manufacturing defect or installation defect of some sort. A blowout obviously is a safety risk since this could have happened on a busy highway. Luckily I got home safely. When I brought it in to the dealer for repair they thought maybe something hit the tire from the outside. I believe the dealer got rid of the tire so it would not be available for inspection. No warning before the failure occurred.

my car engine did not shut off i had to call on star to assist turn off my engine. there is problem with ANTI theft system and cruise control. i had to press cruise button numberous time to shut it off. on start customer advice me to take it to dealer to take look. they did on board diagnosit test they found these code

I brung my car in due to a oil leak and a water pump (Coolant leak) amongst other things my check engine light stays on its the turbo charger, Oxygen sensor and exhaust manifold. this has been an ongoing issue since I purchased the vehicle.

I haven't drove my car in 2 years because the engine and a/c went out on a vehicle that only have 67,000 miles. I should not have to replace a whole engine and a/c when I got the car brand new off the lot. This is my second buick that has had serious problem GM IS SELLING LEMONS TO THERE CUSTOMERS AND IM LOOKING TO STARTING A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IF THIS IS NOT FIXED.

My radar to let me know i was going to hit something didn't go offer. It has never failed before and has been overactive actually which I appreciated before. I was doing 60 with my paraplegic wife (luckily not our 5 year old as well though) in the right lane because it's safer to go slower and be there. I was distracted by a strange machine being transported on a truck to my left. This was my fault. I hear the ultimate responsibility and the majority if not all of it. I saw the road construction trucks 400 feet ahead of me at most. Maybe less than 300 and luckily no one was to my right the truck distracting me was ahead so I had room to avoid hitting the construction truck with the sign saying move over. It was doing maybe 15. I almost killed my wife. It was my fault but still the $3000 safety package failed. Almost catastrophically.

Tire pressure warning came on on highway and FL tire went flat in seconds, pulled over to the shoulder. Tire had ruptured sidewall and apparent dry-rot. Tire shop checked all other 4 tires and all show clear signs of dry rot (cracked rubber) on side wall. ContiProContact P215/55 R18, failed tire DOT LMOA BN7 0718. Other tires 1x same DOT and 2x : LMOA BN7 0618. Tires are OEM, original with vehicle purchase. Vehicle mileage 44220. Replaced all 4 tires already but have pictures of all original.

On highway pressure warning come on and within seconds tire ran flat. AAA service said sidewall was split due to dry rot. Vehicle has 40k miles. Tires are OEM.

Catastrophic control arm failure. The part is available for inspection. Problem confirmed by certified technician at Brake Master repair shop in Santa Fe NM. No visible damage to control arm prior to catastrophic part failure from apparent metal fatigue. Only 37,000 miles on this 2019 Encore. There were no indications of this problem prior to the part failure. The vehicle began making a loud clunking noise and heavy physical clunk when the brakes were applied. Because of the possible safety concerns I had the vehicle towed to the Brake Master facility. Upon inspection the control arm was seen to be broken in two. I took the problem part to the Octane GMC/Buick dealership in Santa Fe where the vehicle was purchased new and showed the part to one of the mechanics who informed me that he had seen this happen before. As this is a relatively small dealership I thought that it was significant that this mechanic had seen this failure previously. Got me wondering if GM is having this problem not only with the Buick Encore but possibly with its twin in the Chevrolet product line. Repair estimate from Brake Master [XXX], $634.91. When I apply brakes the car accelerates instead of stopping. This occurs randomly and not all the time. It has occurred at traffic lights or when I am at a location to park the suv. I was in a accident in May which caused damages to another car. I reported this to GM back in May of this year and they stated that they sent a engineer to inspect the car and could not find anything wrong. at that time the car had been towed to the dealership. I went and picked the car up It drove fine for a while and now its back doing the same thing again. It will run thru red lights, stop signs and doesn't stop when I pull into parking spaces, this is very dangerous, I am getting the run around with General motors. I need some one's help before someone gets injured or killed with this vehicle. I hope its not me.

On Wednesday June 28th, 2023, I was returning home to Columbus, NC from Charlotte, NC. I was travelling on Hwy. 74 and on the west side of Shelby my 2019 Buick Encore started sputtering and did not have any pick up. I stopped at Friendly Chevrolet in Forest City, NC, just off Hwy. 74 and they tested and said I had a mis-firing engine and should not drive due to safety issues. They could not fix as it is under Buick warranty and they are not a Buick dealer. I slowly drove the 20 miles home and feared it would stop at any time. Fred Anderson Chevrolet, where I purchased the car in 2020, is located in Greer, SC. I am still under full warranty so it was towed there and is still there. This was a very scary situation, as I was in the middle of nowhere. I am an 80 year old female and was very anxious as to what was going on and I still owe $10,000, on the car and fear it may have more major problems before the warranty expires in November 2023. The contact stated after releasing the brake pedal, the vehicle abruptly stopped with a burning odor coming from the front passenger’s side brakes. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the front passenger side brake calipers and brake pads were burned and charred and needed to be replaced. The front driver’s and passenger’s side brake calipers and brake pads were replaced but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the local mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact was referred to the local dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 63,000.

On six occasions the vehicle stalled in moving traffic. The car had to be stopped, placed in park and restarted. Buick Service repair in Johnston, Rhode Island cannot repair. The car has been taken to them 6 times with no resolution.

I got my car from Buick of Long Island City I was giving the wrong key mess up battery the car will not start and I crashed

For no apparent reason my air bag sensor light comes on intermittently while driving.

10/26/2022 Dealer inspection of vehicle brake system. Owner concerned with pulsing sensation at higher speeds when braking. Dealer discovered 'uneven pad wear on front axle and rear rotors worn and have excessive thickness variation.' Dealer 'recommends front and rear brake job.' Vehicle has 23,600 miles. Brakes are wearing excessively for low mileage. Dealer verbally recommended future inspection of brake system at intervals of 15,000 miles. Vehicle has been owned for 40 months. Outside of warranty by 3 months. Average of 7900 miles driving per year.

At approximately 1130am, pulling into parking space in a parking lot at very low speed, 50% of vehicle was in the parking space, when suddenly the car accelerated forward. This resulted in my vehicle jumping over a safety curb and crashing into a building resulting in damage to my vehicle.

When I pulled into a parking space at docs office, my car suddenly lurched forward very fast, over the curb and into rocks. I had foot on brake and put in reverse, only to have it reverse very fast and hit a parked car! I was shocked! It had a mind of its own! This has never happened before. I do recall that sometimes when I back out of garage at home, I keep foot on brake and it seems like it wants to “go”. I read on a website that another Encore had very similar incident as mine. My son found online “Transmission slipping” problems with Buicks. I am so thankful no one was walking in the parking lot at the time it happened. Problem has not been reproduced.. police officer didn’t know if there was any recalls for this either. I put a claim in with State Farm and they recommended an auto shop to go to, a few blocks from my condo. I went today (Carstar auto) and they looked at damage. They are trying to order parts for it. He said I can drive it, but honestly, I am afraid this will happen again. I have to go to work, so I’m hoping this doesn’t happen again. I don’t know what to do. The only warning I had on dashboard was to replace the battery in my key fob. I went to O’Reilly’s Auto Store and bought battery and My friends adult son replaced it for me. Most damage is to rear. Some in front underneath I can’t see. Man at Carstar auto saw it.

the intermittent windshield wiper does not function. it has been inspected and no root cause has been found. the dealer is aware and has changed the sensor without success, this has been ongoing for 5 months. multiple trips to the dealer without resolution. no warning lamps or messages.

The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The windshield wipers stop and or turn on intermittently. They have stopped in the middle of a rainstorm on more than one occasion and they have turned on while just driving normally without any of the controls being touched. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety is put at risk anytime I am driving my vehicle in the rain (it rains heavily and a lot where I live). My visibility has been suddenly reduced to zero during highway travel requiring me to put on my hazard lights and attempt to pull off to the side of the road if I dare to try crossing lanes without being able to see. 3. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? On Friday 24 Sep 2021 the car will be inspected by a certified Buick mechanic. 4. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There are no warning lights or any other symptoms present, however, the audio on the right side of the car has stopped working but I am not sure if they issues are related.

The contact owns a 2019 Buick Encore. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle failed to start-up after several attempts with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle driven and towed to several different dealers however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The engine was replaced however, the failure persisted. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V668000 (Power Train) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60. Consumer stated vehicle was in an accident and could not engage the brakes at the time.

This car has the engine shutoff feature when stopped. My wife was waiting in the left turn lane of a major street with three lanes on her side plus two left turning lanes. Due to the busy intersection the wait for a green light is long, perhaps three minutes. The engine shut off and would not restart when she released the brake pedal. Also, almost everything electrical was inoperable, including the interior door release. My wife and granddaughter were temporarily trapped inside the vehicle. She tried the door handle, tried to put down the windows, tried to unlock the car with the keyless remote but nothing would work, she was trapped. After several attempts of trying to restart the car and hitting the unlock button on the keyless entry the doors finally unlocked. The mechanical issue turned out to be a bad car battery; it had shorted out. The safety issue is when the battery dies most components are inoperable, including the interior door release. The dealer said this is the way the car works. If an Encore were to catch fire and the electrical system gets disabled, occupants would be trapped in the car. I think it is a design flaw for the doors to not open when the battery is dead. This should be easy to replicate. Unhook the car battery. Place someone in the car and have them lock the doors. Have the person try to exit the vehicle. In hindsight, the problem was going on for some time. My wife noticed the car taking longer times to restart after shutoff. The day before this incident she was at another long traffic light where the vehicle did not start on its own but the first manual try to restart started the vehicle. I believe this was due to the car battery slowing dying. The car has not been inspected for this as the dealer said the car is working as designed. The Buick dealer replaced the car battery under warranty. One thing I wish I brought to their attention but did not is the fact that no warning light came on indicating a weak car battery.

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE BEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVING ROUGHER. IT JOLTS FORWARD WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKE FROM A FULL STOP, MORE THAN NORMAL.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE TURNS ITSELF OFF. HEADLIGHTS GO OFF AND THERE IS NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WILL CRANK ITSELF WITHOUT TOUCHING THE START BUTTON. SOMETIMES SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT WILL REMAIN ON LONG ENOUGH TO START DRIVING AGAIN. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF ENGINE SHUTDOWN. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT IS HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR IN TOWN. TONIGHT IT TOOK OVER 2 HOURS TO TRAVEL A NORMAL 20 MINUTE DRIVE. IT ALL STARTED 27 FEB 21 AND TODAY (28 FEB 21) IT IS PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE. MOST OF THE TIMES THAT IT HAPPENS A BELL WILL DING 4 TIMES AND RIGHT AFTER THE BELL CHIMES THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY SHUTS OFF. ALL LIGHTS EXTINGUISH, IT LOSES STEERING CONTROL AND BRAKES ARE MINIMIZED.

I AM GETTING CONTINUOUS EMAILS SAYING THAT THERE HAS BEEN AN ISSUE DETECTED WITH MY AIRBAGS. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL SPORADICALLY COME ON, AND WHEN SOMEONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIRBAGS DO NOT ALWAYS TURN ON.

OCT 9TH - I WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK ON OCTOBER 9TH AFTER WORKING A 12-HOUR SHIFT. IT WAS DARK. I WAS GOING SOUTH ON HAPPY VALLEY. I PULLED UP TO A FOUR-WAY STOP ON HAPPY VALLEY AND VICTORY ROAD. I STARTED TO PULL INTO THE INTERSECTION. A GIRL TRAVELING EAST TO WEST DIDN'T STOP AT HER STOP SIGN. WHEN I GOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION, SHE HIT ME. THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 45 MPH COMING FROM HER DIRECTION, BUT I DO NOT KNOW HOW FAST SHE WAS TRAVELING. SHE HIT MY CAR AND IT SPUN MY CAR. I REMEMBER HITTING MY HEAD 2 TIMES ON THE SIDE WINDOW AND MY BODY TWICE AGAINST THE DOOR. MY AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. MY CAR FACED THE AIRPORT WHEN IT CAME TO A STOP AND WAS FACING WEST.

HACKER ITS BEING ABLE TO CHANGE STEREO AND PENETRATE INTO THE UNIT AND MANIPULATE CAR SETTINGS AS HE'S PLEASE. DANGEROUS WHILE I AM DRIVING.

THERE'S CONDENSATION IN BOTH TAIL LIGHTS EVERY SINGLE MORNING. THIS IS A 2019 VEHICLE THAT I'VE OWNED FOR ONLY 4 MONTHS. NO OTHER CAR I'VE SEEN HAS THIS CONDENSATION. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE HEAT OF THE BREAK LIGHTS SHOULD BURN UP THE CONDENSATION.

MY HOOD POPPED OPEN WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. THE CAR NOTIFIED ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I HAVE DASH CAM AND PICTURES. I PULLED OVER AND CLOSED HOOD. THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. ASIDE FROM MY MAIN CONCERN ABOVE, MY APPLY CAR PLAY HAS TROUBLE WORKING WITH THE VEHICLE SYSTEM. THIS HAPPENED MANY TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH. THE VEHICLE NOTIFIED ME I WAS LOW ON FUEL SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I HAD ALMOST A FULL TANK. IT HAPPENED WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE IN THE LAST WEEK.

BRAKES LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING NO HWY. AT SPEEDS OVER 50 MPH. DEALERSHIP CHECKED CODES FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES IN 8000 MILES.

2019 BUICK ENCORE SPORT TOURING WITH AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHT CONTROL. THE ISSUE IS AN ANNOYING SENSOR FOR THE HEADLIGHTS. THE VEHICLE HAS LED DRL'S AND THUS BELIEVE THAT THE HEADLIGHTS SHOULD NOT BE ACTIVATED UNTIL DUSK AT THE EARLIEST. HOWEVER ON THIS VEHICLE THE SENSOR WITH ACTIVATE THE HEADLIGHTS IN FULL NOON SUN-WHILE AT OTHER TIMES CAN TRAVEL THROUGH A DARK TUNNEL AND THEY WILL NOT AVTIVATE UNTILL YOU EXIT AND ENTER DAYLIGHT ONCE AGAIN. HAVE HAD TIMES WHERE THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON THEN PULL INTO MY HOME GARAGE (NOT WELL LIT) AND HAVE THE HEADLIGHTS GO OFF. HAVE REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER , THEY STATE THEY HAVE CONTACTED GM AND THIS IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF AUTO HEADLIGHTS. I QUESTIONED THE DEALER IF THE AUTO HEADLIGHT SENSOR SENSITIVITY COULD BE CHANGED OR ADJUSTED...THEY STATED NO. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC AND WILL ULTIMATELY REQUIRE ME TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT BULBS MUCH SOONER THAN NORMAL.

SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW, A 2019 ENCORE SPORT TOURING, HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE STEREO VOLUME AND IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS MOVING OR STATIONARY.. WHEN SWITCHING FROM FM TO XM THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN AUDIO VOLUME. THE VOLUME WHILE LISTENING TO XM IS WHAT YOU WOULD CONSIDER AS NORMAL HOWEVER WHEN SWITCHING TO FM THE VOLUME IS ONLY 1/2 (WITHOUT ADJUSTING/MODIFYING VOLUME LEVEL) OF WHAT IT WAS AND NOW REQUIRES ALMOST 3/4 VOLUME ADJUSTMENT AND SOUNDS MUTED AND STILL CANNOT ACHEIVE SAME SOUND QUALITY. HAVE DISCUSSED THIS WITH DEALER AND THEY STATE THEY CONTACTED GM. THE ANSWER WAS AN UNACCEPTABLE "THIS IS NORMAL" OPERATION. HAVE LISTENED TO OTHER STEREOS IN OTHER CAR'S (INCLUDING BUICKS) WITH AM/FM AND XM AND THEY DO NOT SUFFER FROM THIS SAME ISSUE. WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE TO BE SOLVED.

I WAS STOPPED IN A DRIVE THRU TACO BELL AND THE CLERK DROPPED MY CHANGE DOLLARS FROM MY PURCHASE SO I REACTED BY OPENING THE DOOR TO PICK UP THE MONEY BY TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE WITHOUT PUTTING IT IN PARK BECAUSE IT WAS A REACTION. THE CAR'S STOP START FEATURE SURGED THE CAR FORWARD PINNING MY LEGS BETWEEN THE CAR AND THE BUILDING. I COULDN'T PUT THE CAR IN PARK BECAUSE MY LEGS WERE PINNED AND THE VEHICLE SHIFT WOULD NOT GO INTO PARK. I SCREAMED AND THE CLERK HAD TO TAKE MY SHOES OFF SO I COULD PULL MY LEGS IN THE CAR. I WENT DIRECTLY TO URGENT CARE. MY LEGS WERE SEVERELY BRUISED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THE CAR SHOULD NOT SURGE FORWARD LIKE THAT. I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR 1 MONTH AND IT SCRAPED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND FRONT TIRE/RIM. $1500 DAMAGE BUT LOST A DAYS WORK AND SEVERAL WEEKS OF RECOVERY. THE SAME THING COULD HAPPEN AT AN ATM. I USED TO WORK FOR GM AND TEST DRIVE VEHICLES THIS ENGINE STOP/START FEATURE SHOULD HAVE AN ELECTRIC FEATURE SIMILAR TO WHAT FORD HAS THAT ONCE THE DOOR OPENS, THE DRIVE GOES AUTOMATICALLY TO PARK. I WAS STOPPING TO PARK THE CAR AND TOOK MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE BEFORE I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, THE CAR SURGED FORWARD OVER THE CURB, A SIDE WALK AND INTO A ROCK GARDEN, (I WAS PARKING AT A NURSERY) I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THAT BEFORE. I THINK IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE 1.4L SIDI TURBO ENGINE WITH ITS START-STOP TECHNOLOGY. I THINK IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THE ENGINE SURGE WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO PROPEL THE CAR OVER THE CURB, A SIDE WALK AND INTO A GARDEN. I BELIEVE THAT THIS TECHNOLOGY WILL CAUSE A LOT OF REAR END COLLISIONS. ALTHOUGH NO OTHER CAR WAS INVOLVED IN MY CASE AND I WAS NOT HURT BUT IT DID ABOUT $ 9000 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF MY CAR BECAUSE OF THE ROCKS THAT THE CAR TRAVELED OVER BEFORE I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE. THE DISTANCE IT TRAVELED WAS PROBABLY 6 TO 8 FEET BUT IT SCARED THE DELIGHT OUT OF ME!. I ALSO DON'T KNOW IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE BUT WOULD LOVE TO KNOW. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR ONLY A FEW MONTHS AND AM AN EXTREMELY CAREFUL DRIVER. THE LOWER CONTROL ARM IS POORLY DESIGNED. WHEN THE VEHICLE HITS A POTHOLE IT WILL CAUSE THE LOWER CONTROL ARE TO BEND NEAR THE BALL JOINT. BASICALLY, THE LOWER CONTROL ARM METAL IS NOT REINFORCED IN THAT AREA. THE AREA BY THE BALL JOINT IS JUST A FLAT PIECE AND DOES NOT HAVE MUCH STRENGTH. WHEN IT FAILS IT WILL CAUSE THE CV JOINT TO COME OUT OF THE TRANSMISSION AND BREAK MANY PARTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
